(This was written in July oh dear-)
You know how in a lot of fics a de-aged Danny winds up in Gotham either via Clockwork putting him there, or Danny goes through a portal (either through his own volition or not) and ends up being taken in by one of the bats?
Okay that, but what if he was never picked up and ends up falling through the cracks and becoming one of the many homeless children wandering Gotham's streets, but unlike all the other street kids who know when to keep their head down Danny just doesn't have those fear receptors... like at all-
It's almost scary with how the kid manages to just not give a single flying fuck about what is going on.
So after a while of wandering the streets and getting acquainted with the Gotham's inhabitants everyone slowly get's used to the kid wandering around, dropping their guard and greeting him with smiles when he toddles around the corner, looking for his next meal or piece of scrap clothing.
Perhaps it's this show of trust they begin to notice the strangeness that hangs around him like a cloud. The shifting coloured eyes, the coldness in his skin that never seems to go away no matter how much clothing the kid gets bundled in.
The fact that no one knows where he goes once they take their eyes on him? Spooky to say the least, but they're Gothamites! One shady, possibly meta, kid ain't gonna change anything.
So he becomes a staple in everyone's lives, and eventually learned his name is Danny. He talks about having an older sister called Jazz, two best friends and a puppy he named Cujo. (who let their kids watch Cujo???)
They also learned he had an innate fear of The Bats, whenever one swept into the streets during their nightly patrol he would just... disappear. He became unfindable and wouldn't appear until the next day.
At first they thought it was him finding a safe place to sleep while the night rolled around and the Rouges came out to play, but that assumption was quickly squashed when he was caught wailing on one of the Jokers henchmen. The white makeup couldn't even cover up the black and blue bruises that covered his face.
It was comical, if not a bit frightening to see this small child practically a baby sitting upon a knocked out, grown ass man. His little stubby legs dangling off the side of his body, too small to even reach the ground.
Of course nothing stays under the Bats radar for long so he end up eventually getting spotted. However none of the Bats where expecting such resistance from the civilians when they offered to take the kid.
Now whenever the little tyke is bumbling around and a Bat (or any other vigilante associated with them) is in the area, it's all hands on deck to distract Danny and get him somewhere else.

“Above Earth”
I’ve always had an interest in space, interplanetary travel, and the existence of other beings within the universe. Another interest of mine closely related to space and what it holds for us; that being the rockets and the technology behind what is needed to travel above and beyond earth ? I would stare (and still do) up into the night sky, not because I could really see anything, but because I could wonder about what (or who) might be out there, and my compelling fascination with living beings who might be out there. Other times, when the Moon was visible during the daylight, I would gaze up at it thinking that its position above Earth was intentional, that it was there for specific reasons. I’ve always felt that there was so much information to be gleaned, and our presence on Earth to me suggested that there must be or at least there once was other beings out there inhabiting those other planets, and that the day would come to confirm my queries. Knowing too that there must be others just like me who shared those very same thoughts. I’ve always believed that we (Earth) are not alone, and that the universe is a shared entity.
I had grown up with Mercury, Gemini and the Apollo Space Programs, Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral, and NASA. I remember the anticipation and exhilaration I felt watching the return of the space capsules with the astronauts onboard ~ “coming in hot” ~ then with on-board parachutes deployed, and the broadcast from NASA’S Mission Control Houston. From the initial launch with rockets ablaze to the splashdown, seeing the astronauts stepping out with a salute, the realization of it all, knowing that they had been up there, out there, that this would be documented history in the making.
From the Lunar Module landing on the Moon to the Mars Rover, the Space Shuttle era, and the International Space Station (ISS) to Elon Musk’s SpaceX, I believe interplanetary travel is within reach. Maybe 10 to 20 years or more, who knows, but what is for certain is that those of us who share this passion (along with generations to come) for deep space and interplanetary travel will no doubt come to witness discoveries of the greatest mysteries held within the universe.
End ~

The King's last gift
Danny was tired, tired of being responsible for protecting the world. At first it was just Amity but the ghosts began to explore more and the halfa was exhausted. He was the only hero available and it was taking its toll.
He knew he couldn't go on like this, let alone with his coronation around the corner but he didn't know what else to do. He knew he couldn't interfere with the world after the crown was on his head. The world would fear him (maybe even more than now) and protecting them with so much power in hand could do more harm than good, but if he didn't protect them, who would?
His core ached at the thought of all those people begging for a hero who wouldn't come, so Danny took desperate measures, and cheated a little.
He visited Desiree; she watched him with a raised eyebrow, curious. And Danny did what he forbade long ago, he wished. He wished for the future and for humanity itself, he uttered the words he had wanted to say ever since he knew he would not be able to visit earth for a long time.
"I wish for the world to be safe even when I no longer live in it, I wish for there to be someone who can protect it, even if it's just a human."
Desiree blinked in surprise not expecting the King who had "forbidden" her to do such a thing. She smiled and nodded. Her power grew exponentially but neither she nor Danny said anything about it. The halfa would not undo that wish after all.
In New Jersey, Thomas and Martha Wayne were celebrating the birth of their son. Neither of them noticed the spark of magic entering the baby, nor the boy's unusually blue eyes. Bruce Wayne, the Ghost King's latest gift to mankind, had been born.
And years later, when the Justice League was formed and everyone was talking to each other, John Constantine looked at the dark knight curiously, wondering if he was aware that he was death's favorite.

Lefty antisemites be like science and history denial is endemic to the right only. Anyways let's keep denying the DNA evidence of diasporic Jewish indigenousness to the Levant, thousands of years long archaeological record covering the area in Jewish artifacts, the Kingdom of Judea's 3,000 year history, all historical documentation proving Jews were found already living in the Levant when Europe got there, and more so I can keep pushing genocidal colonist narratives about one of the smallest and most oppressed groups on Earth :) #Landback!!!!!!!

me, normal person in worm city (the city worm takes place in): sure its pretty sad that hero died and all but you have to admit that retiring his card basically fixed the prodecktorate meta by itself so calling it a tragedy is maybe a bit shortsighted
