why are printers so hated? it's simple:
computers are good at computering. they are not good at the real world.
the biggest problems in computers, the ones that have had to change the most over the time they've existed, are the parts that deal with the real world. The keyboard, the mouse, the screen. every computer needs these, but they involve interacting with the real world. that's a problem. that's why they get replaced so much.
now, printers: printers have some of the most complex real-world interaction. they need to deposit ink on paper in 2 dimensions, and that results in at least three ways it can go on right from the start. (this is why 3D printers are just 2D printers that can go wrong in another whole dimension)
scanners fall into many of the same problems printers have, but fewer people have scanners, and they're not as cost-optimized. But they are nearly as annoying.
This is also why you can make a printer better by cutting down on the number of moving elements: laser printers are better than inkjets, because they only need to move in one dimension, and their ink is a powder, not a liquid. and the best-behaved printers of all are thermal printers: no ink and the head doesn't move. That's why every receipt printer is a thermal printer, because they need that shit to work all the time so they can sell shit. And thermal is the most reliable way to do that.
But yeah, cost-optimization is also a big part of why printers are such finicky unreliable bastards: you don't want to pay much for them. Who is excited for all the printing they're gonna be doing? basically nobody. But people get forced to have a printer because they gotta print something, for school or work or the government or whatever. So they want the cheapest thing that'll work. They're not shopping on features and functionality and design, they want something that costs barely anything, and can fucking PRINT. anything else is an optional bonus.
And here's the thing: there's a fundamental limit of how much you can optimize an inkjet printer, and we got near to it in like the late 90s. Every printer since then has just been a tad smaller, a tad faster, and added some gimmicks like printing from WIFI or bluetooth instead of needing to plug in a cable.
And that's the worst place to be in, for a computer component. The "I don't care how fancy it is, just give me one that works" zone. This is why you can buy a keyboard for 20$ and a mouse for 10$ and they both work plenty fine for 90% of users. They're objectively shit compared to the ones in the 60-150$ range, but do they work? yep. So that's what people get.
Printers fell into that zone long, long ago, when people stopped getting excited about "desktop publishing". So with printers shoved into the "make them as cheap as possible" zone, they have gotten exponentially shittier. Can you cut costs by 5$ a printer by making them jam more often? good. make them only last a couple years to save a buck or two per unit? absolutely. Can you make the printer cost 10$ less and make that back on the proprietary ink cartridges? oh, they've been doing that since Billy Clinton was in office.
It's the same place floppy disks were in in about 2000. CD-burners were not yet cheap enough, USB flash drives didn't exist yet (but were coming), modems weren't fast enough yet to copy stuff over the internet, superfloppies hadn't taken over like some hoped, and memory cards were too expensive and not everyone had a drive for them. So we still needed floppy disks, but at the same time this was a technology that hadn't changed in nearly 20 years. So people were tired of paying out the nose for them... the only solution? cut corners. I have floppy disks from 1984 that read perfectly, but a shrinkwrapped box of disks from 1999 will have over half the disks failed. They cut corners on the material quality, the QA process, the cleaning cloth inside the disk, everything they could. And the disks were shit as a result.
So, printers are in that particular note of the death-spiral where they've reached the point of "no one likes or cares about this technology, but it's still required so it's gone to shit". That's why they are so annoying, so unreliable, so fucking crap.
So, here's the good news:
You can still buy a better printer, and it will work far better. Laser printers still exist, and LED printers work the same way but even cheaper. They're still more expensive than inkjets (especially if you need color), but if you have to print stuff, they're a godsend. Way more reliable.
This is not a stable equilibrium. Printers cannot limp along in this terrible state forever. You know why I brought up floppy disk there? (besides the fact I'm a giant floppy disk nerd) because floppy disks GOT REPLACED. Have you used one this decade? CD-Rs and USB drives and internet sharing came along and ate the lunch of floppy disks, so much so that it's been over a decade since any more have been made. The same will happen to (inkjet) printers, eventually. This kind of clearly-broken situation cannot hold. It'll push people to go paperless, for companies to build cheaper alternatives to take over from the inkjets, or someone will come up with a new, more reliable printer based on some new technology that's now cheap enough to use in printers. Yeah, it sucks right now, but it can't last.
So, in conclusion: Printers suck, but this is both an innate problem caused by them having to deal with so much fucking Real World, and a local minimum of reliability that we're currently stuck in. Eventually we'll get out of this valley on the graph and printers will bother people a lot less.
Random fun facts about printing of the past and their local minimums:
in the hot metal type era, not only would the whole printing process expose you to lead, the most common method of printing text was the linotype, which could go wrong in a very fun way: if the next for a line wasn't properly justified (filling out the whole row), it could "squirt", and lead would escape through gaps in the type matrix. This would result in molten lead squirting out of the machine, possibly onto the operator. Anecdotally, linotype operators would sometimes recognize each other on the street because of the telltale spots on their forearms where they had white splotches where no hair grew, because they got bad lead burns. This type of printing remained in use until the 80s.
Another fun type of now-retired printers are drum printers, a type of line printer. These work something like a typewriter or dot-matrix printer, except the elements extend across the entire width of the paper. So instead of printing a character at time by smacking it into the paper, the whole line got smacked nearly at once. The problem is that if the paper jammed and the printer continued to try to print, that line of the paper would be repeatedly struck at high speed, creating a lot of heat. This worry created the now-infamous Linux error: "lp0 on fire". This was displayed when the error signals from a parallel printer didn't make sense... and it was a real worry. A high speed printer could definitely set the paper on fire, though this was rare.
So... one thing to be grateful about current shitty inkjet printers: they are very unlikely to burn anything, especially you.
(because before they could do that they'd have to work, at least a little, first, and that's very unlikely)

Post-card 🐿️
Okay I'm part of FOUR projects that are all under NDA so I haven't had anything to post, but I guess I can show the submission that got me into school! Theme was "post-card to yourself in the future," so here's squirrel-me frantically hauling my current gear around!
I rigged the face for posing, but for fun I also tested what face tracking would look like lmao
At this point, modelling and texturing a squirrel took no time at all, but back then I hadn't tried GeoNode hairs yet, I'd only done my own geo setups from zero. Like the spruce branches here, they were for rendering textures for my Christmas trees, so I was able to reuse the setup!
Tumblr media
Figuring out the hair nodes + weird results from posing took some time, but in the end these worked way better than the old particle approach! Especially 'color distribution along the hair path' gave it that recognizable red squirrel tail.
The final card I submitted also had a 2D element to it to represent my digital drawing beginnings! I loosely painted over the render in my usual style, and printed the layers separately, ripping the 'drawn' version's paper along the paths I planned here:
Tumblr media
And this is pretty much what the final A5 card looked like! The printer couldn't repeat the colors just as vibrantly, but hey, the teacher-judges liked it a lot, and I got in! (I was the only one with 3D background there anyway so I bet they wanted the variety lol)

Text
Welcome to my silly little rp blog! I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing, so please bear with me. I’ll probably be doing pretty short responses, at least for now. The overall flavor will be pretty humorous, just due to the nature of the character. Speaking of…
Meet Tiny!
Tumblr media
Just a little dude
Is made of paper, and thus 2D
Was created by the main Narrator to be a stand-in when he wanted a break
Can materialize on any piece of paper or through any printer
Paperkinesis: can manipulate regular pieces of paper, often uses this to make makeshift arms, because holding 3D objects while being 2D is pretty hard.
Can also interact with drawings as if they were actual objects. He can finally eat cake!
Likes making friends- it’s kinda his job
Is trying his best
Need a break, or just a friend? Tiny’s got your back!
Oh, what’s this? Another character? Heck yeah! Meet Ystafell (Fell for short), the narrator that created Tiny.
Tumblr media
The main narrator of their game
Values creativity, and likes to make art all over the office
Two modes: Tender mom and sarcastic menace
Is very insecure about their appearance to others and used Tiny as a buffer so people don’t freak out.
Is normally incredibly large, and resides on the outside of the office, but can shrink down to fit inside
Their head mimics rooms of the office, or can contain rooms of their own creation
The weird purple arm is what actually manipulates parts of the office and story
Has been running the game for a very long time, has done multiple full runs with different players
Non-binary swag because why not
As if this blog wasn’t messy enough, here’s another character! Employee 17, Eugene!
Tumblr media
Very loosely based on Eugene from Card Sharks (great game, would recommend). Eugene but a little (okay, a lot) to the left
Mute, like Stanley, but communicates with cards, and those eyes are surprisingly expressive
Was a normal employee until Fell decided to delete his area of the office, without realizing he was still around. Thus, he got tangled in the code of the game, coming out the mess he is now, but with new powers
From his corrupted arm he can produce special cards, which along with helping with communication, can be used to activate cheat codes, to do things like summon objects, teleport, warp the surroundings, pretty much anything. But, each time he casts one, it makes his form a little more unstable, affecting the outcome of the next card until he has time to cool down. Although, this can lead to some useful effects…
Currently wanders the halls of the office doing whatever he wants, being able to break through the boundaries of the game Fell put in place. Likes to mess with Stanley/the player whenever he sees them, and torments Fell without fear of being caught. Surprisingly nice to Tiny though

5 Amazing Ways to Use Heat maps Software
Advertisers can now quantify almost anything, giving us a remarkable capacity and access to various methods of measuring and improving the performance of your marketing efforts. However, we can become overly focused on metrics that look great on paper but don’t provide as much information as we believe, such as page clicks and page views. A high percentage of website traffic can demonstrate the quality of your headline or product description, but it does not reveal the entire story of how your website visitors navigate your website or how precisely they interact with the page.
Fortunately, a data visualization tool can show you which areas of your website generate the most engagement and which do not. They’re called heat maps, and they can provide you with the information and knowledge you need to optimize your website copy, user experience, and conversion rate optimization in order to maximize your revenue. This article will provide an overview of various types of heat-maps as well as for instructions on how to create and analyze them. You will also learn about 5 amazing ways to use heat-maps to improve every aspect of your customer journey in an interesting and proactive manner.
Tumblr media
What is a heat map?
A heat map, also known as a heatmap, is a powerful data visualization technique that displays the intensity of a specific subject as colour in two dimensions. The difference in colour can be shown by hue or intensity, giving the observer clear visual cues on how the subject in question is clustered or how it changes over time. In reality, heat maps are classified into two types: cluster heat maps and spatial heat maps. A cluster heat map displays magnitudes in a matrix with fixed cell size and rows and columns representing discrete phenomena and categories. Furthermore, the sorting of rows and columns is deliberate and somewhat arbitrary in order to suggest clusters or depict them as discovered through statistical analysis. The actual cell size is arbitrary but large enough to be visible.
A short history of heat maps
Heat maps first appeared in two-dimensional displays of data matrix values. Small dark grey, often black, squares represented larger values, while lighter squares represented smaller values. In 1973, Robert Ling proposed connecting cluster trees to the rows and columns of a data matrix. When he used overstruck printer characters to represent various shades of grey, he used one character width per pixel. In 1994, Leland Wilkinson created the first computer program (SYSTAT) to generate cluster heat maps with high-resolution colour graphics. Cormac Kinney, a software designer, trademarked the term “heat map” in 1991 to describe a 2D display depicting financial market data. The company that acquired Kinney’s invention in 2003 unintentionally allowed the trademark to lapse. Today, the term heat map is used for various different types and methods of data visualization but the one that we will put our focus on is website heatmaps and the heatmap software that is used to create them.

The Ultimate Guidebook for Inkjet Cartridges
1. Presentation
Much thanks to you for purchasing this guide I truly want to believe that I have introduced the data in a clear, concise and straightforward way. I really want to believe that you will find it educational and that it will help any future choices that you make while making your next acquisition of a printer or ink stream cartridges.
This Manual for Ink fly Cartridges has been composed to attempt to make sense of obviously the distinctions between various sorts of ink cartridges, and to set out plainly the benefits and weaknesses of every specific kind. These ink stream printer cartridges can be classified in to three sorts, fundamentally
1.OEM cartridges (Unique Hardware Makers)
2.Compatible cartridges
3.Remanufactured cartridges.
2. OEM cartridges (Unique Hardware Makers)
Unique cartridges are the brands of the printer producers, large numbers of the less expensive models are just half-filled or even less. Unique Gear Manufacturer(OEM) A brand name ink stream conveys the brand name of the producer on it, normally equivalent to the printer maker, for instance, Epson, Ordinance, Hewlett Packard, and so on.
The producer sell the printers he makes efficiently realizing that he will get significantly more cash-flow from the substitution cartridges that should be purchased to make the printer work. He can charge anything he desires to for the cartridge. In the existence season of a printer the cartridge may be changed multiple times reliant upon its utilization. This is of incredible benefit to printer producers.
2a. Advanced Thousand years Copyright Act (DMCA)
It additionally restricts the obligation of Network access Suppliers that are just communicating the data, yet they should promptly bring down material that appears to encroach copyright
2b. Plans of action
The printer fabricating industry has decided for its plan of action the Gillette plan of action that is all there is to it gets rid of its items inexpensively or on the other hand if important at a bad time to guarantee the reseller's exchange deals of its sharp edges. Cartridges can be worth commonly more than the expense of the printer over the existence of the printer. For this reason makers frequently battle with organizations who they see as eating into their benefits and are continuously attempting to push them out.
2c. Lexmark and Static Control Parts
Lexmark the second biggest producer of printers guaranteed that Static Control Parts had picked apart their chip to give lower evaluated cartridges. They refered to that the DMCA covered their chips copyright and Static Control Parts chip was consequently unlawful. The copyright office of the US decided that an organization can't utilize DMCA to protect itself from sound rivalry.
2d. Epson Succeeds
Epson is quite possibly of the biggest maker, in the event that not the biggest on the planet. which cover minor specialized changes in the manner that the cartridges are created, todate they are having a great deal of progress as many organizations are deciding to settle as opposed to battle it out. which isn't uplifting news for the shopper and may sound the mark of the end for cheap cartridges. Epsons VP as of late said "We will keep on seeking after the ITC activity and the forthcoming Region Court claim vivaciously and make anything that other move might be important to safeguard Epson from unreasonable contest through patent encroachment or the dissemination of fake ink cartridges." It won't be some time before different producers follow this line.
3. Viable cartridges
Viable cartridges are conventional ink stream cartridges which are fabricated to meet or try and surpass unique hardware maker (OEM) guidelines. Viable cartridges are very well known most PC clients are know all about ink fly printers, as they give somewhat excellent printing and can be utilized in different ventures. Viable cartridges are repositories of ink which interface with a progression of little spouts called the print head that are utilized to make tiny spots of ink. Viable cartridges are a lot more modest than toner cartridges and work an alternate innovation.
Viable cartridges permit more excellent pictures to be created than toner cartridges for a lower unit cost. Viable cartridges are a certified conservative option to the costly OEM ink fly cartridges on the UK market today. Viable cartridges may likewise contain a chip (like the first); these are called Chipped Viable Cartridges. Viable cartridges are fundamentally accessible for printers that utilization straightforward supplies as ink cartridges Viable cartridges are not accessible for each printer; in the event that a Viable cartridge isn't accessible then a remanufactured one perhaps.
Viable cartridges are those not fabricated or endorsed by the printer producers. for an incredible determination of viable ink cartridges at costs to go to court and sue for DMCA encroachment. You will get basically similar number of printed pages from viable Ink fly cartridges as you will get from an OEM Ink stream cartridge (like Group and Epsom).
4. Remanufactured
Remanufactured cartridges are reused ink stream cartridges that have been dismantled, investigated, cleaned, reassembled, topped off with ink and exclusively print tried to meet or try and surpass unique printer cartridge particulars. Most of re fabricated hp ink fly cartridges are topped off to greatest limit and contain more ink than the first hp ink fly cartridges. Remanufactured toner and ink stream cartridges offer clear benefits over new cartridges in cost, squander decrease, and now and again even in item quality.
5. Reusing
Begin by saving your own vacant ink stream cartridges and by requesting that every one of your companions do likewise. Track down a vacant box and essentially save each unfilled cartridge as and when they become unfilled. The vast majority given the decision, would prefer to discard their vacant cartridges in a manner that would help the climate.
Assist the climate and save money on your next ink cartridge with buying by reusing your ink stream cartridges. Reusing ink fly cartridges diminishes how much waste that is placed into our landfills. Reusing is something worth being thankful for as is fund-raising for your objective.
Reusing cartridges is harmless to the ecosystem and you can feel better about supporting manageable improvement for the planet's restricted normal assets and not adding to our all around over-burden landfills. Reusing ink stream cartridges and cell phones is free, it wont cost you a penny and will assist with fund-raising for good cause like Tommy's, Save the Kids, Debilitation Worldwide.

What kind of materials can 3D printers use?
Tumblr media
3D printers can print anything, but what 3D printing materials can be used is a question.
What is the material of the 3D printer?
What are 3D printer materials? It's a bit like 2D printer ink. A 3D object is formed by layering and solidifying 3D printing materials. 3D printers can use a variety of materials, but there are different types of 3D printer materials that can be used with each printing method.
In the Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) method, a material called a filament is used.3D printer filament is a long, thin strand of meltable resin.
In the case of stereolithography (SLA method/DLP method) or inkjet method (material injection method), 3d printer resin cured by ultraviolet rays is used.
In the case of the powder sintering method (SLS method) or the binder jetting method, powder materials are used. do it. In addition to resin, various powder materials such as metal powder and gypsum can be used.
According to your printer type and printing method, choose the appropriate 3D printing materials.

#FREECAD FOR MAC FREE FREE#
There are many CAM programs out there, and most are very expensive.
#FREECAD FOR MAC FREE SOFTWARE#
The next step down the software chain is CAM software, which is responsible for taking your designs and creating a toolpath for the machine to follow to cut out your parts. The learning curve is moderate, and they have higher-end versions available if you create products that need sheet metal designs or other complicated features.Īlibre Atom is downloaded software that you own it is not cloud-based.Īlibre Atom costs approximately $200 USD and runs on Windows.
#FREECAD FOR MAC FREE FULL#
It’s based on a commercial CAD kernel, so it’s very robust and reliable (and it comes with full support). Alibre AtomĪlibre Atom is a fully parametric, history-based CAD program that will let you create almost anything. You can do a lot of great work with the programs listed above but it’s worth considering a commercial CAD program, particularly if you’re into 3D modeling. Inkscape runs on Mac, Windows, and Linux. It exports SVG and DXF files for your CAM software. Inkscape is similar to Corel Draw and Adobe Illustrator but totally free. It’s generally used more for artistic projects than precise mechanical work, but it should work for either if you have the patience. While not strictly a CAD package, Inkscape is very popular for 2D designs for CNC machining.
#FREECAD FOR MAC FREE CODE#
Solvespace runs on Mac, Windows, and Linux, and the source code is freely available. Solvespace can export STL or STEP files for a third-party CAM program. The user interface is quirky but more simple than FreeCAD. It allows you to create 3D parts like FreeCAD but, because it’s got a somewhat limited custom CAD kernel, it is better suited to mechanical-looking parts that don’t have highly sculpted, organic surfaces. Solvespace is another freeware 3D CAD program that’s got an almost cult-like following. In addition to it being freeware, if you really want to nerd out on CAD then the source code for FreeCAD is freely available.įreeCAD runs on Mac, Windows, and Linux. The output from FreeCAD, STL, STEP, SVG, or DXF, can be sent to any of the CAM programs listed below. It’s not necessarily what we’d recommend for a beginner, but it is free, so there’s no cost to try it. Like Alibre, it’s capable of creating very complicated designs with very high precision, but the user interface is much more complicated, and the learning curve will be much more difficult.
#FREECAD FOR MAC FREE FREE#
FreeCADįreeCAD is a completely free 3D CAD parametric program that’s become increasingly popular as 3D printers have become more popular. Luckily there have been significant improvements in the free options over the past few years as 3D printing, which uses the same CAD program, has taken off. There are many CAD software packages out there, but unfortunately, most of them are not free. Free CAD softwareĬAD, which stands for Computer-Aided Design, is the CNC software that lets you draw your designs. We’ll limit our listing to software for a CNC router or CNC milling machine and avoid other machine types, like plasma cutters and laser cutters. You may spend more time with the software than your CNC mill, so it’s worth spending a few dollars if the paid software makes CNC machining easier. We’ll cover a few paid products in addition to free options. CNC control software (Makes your machine follow the g code tool path).CAM Software (Lets you turn the drawing into a tool path in g code format).Command line tools (dwg2pdf, dwg2svg, dwg2bmp, etc.)Ĭlick here for a complete list of features.Starting from your design to the g code for your CNC machine, you’re going to need several CNC software applications:.Very complete and extremely powerful ECMAScript (JavaScript) scripting interface.Various powerful entity selection tools.Construction and modification of points, lines, arcs, circles, ellipses, splines, polylines, texts, dimensions, hatches, fills, raster images.

You can download QCAD today for free! Main Features You don't need any CAD experience to get started with QCAD immediately. QCAD is an easy to use but powerful 2D CAD system for everyone. But what people notice most often about QCAD is its intuitive user interface. QCAD was designed with modularity, extensibility and portability in mind. The source code of QCAD is released under the GPL version 3 (GPLv3), a popular Open Source license. Mr. SW- came at 11 - brought me my account and balance of rents - I observed that he would see handbills out respecting Hilltop farm - He said nothing - so I, just asked if he was a very good farmer and then dropped the subject - W- said the grass land was in very fair order - I then talked of my new road to my house - asked what W- could do it for, and said if I went from home I might perhaps got him to do it - this led to the mention of Mawson - if Mr. SW- was a friend of his, had better tell him he should not have his excavators in the house, if he had, no respectable people would go to the house - W- allowed this - I said he was very foolish - he quite defeated my intention of the great respectability of the place - if he did not alter, I should tire in time - I had had several applications for the place from persons saying Mawson said he should give it up - but all I had said was he had not told me anything of this kind - the road from the Lodge to the barn doors 62 roods = 434 yards long - spoke of bur-walling the upper side and making an open shallow drain up to it - say 15in. wide - this would be done for 1/3 per yard finding sets to set up to the wall with - then exclusive of this road to be 13ft. 6in. wide thro’ the wood and 12ft. wide thro’ the field and covered with 9in. thick of boulder all broken into 2 ½ in. sized pieces, laid on at twice, and rolled with the town’s roller each time - I mentioned 3 tons of dross per wood, W- thought 2 tons enough - 2 tons per rood broken into 2in. sized pieces i.e. dross bringing breaking and laying on would be 10/. per rood - should have a little road sand or Halifax (Northgate) gravel to set it with - the bouldering would cost 30/. and the dross 10/. per rood = 40/. per rood for which SW- would engage to do it, the bed of the rood being found ready - SW- said stuff should be carted from Whiskam quarry to the road at 9d. per cubic yard - stuff should be shifted from near the Lodge to form embankment to mask the Stump house (Mr. Barber) at 7d.per yard (22 yards = a barrow-run - 1 barrow run 5d. or 5d. for the 1st run and 1 1/2d. for each run more - .:. 3 barrow runs = 8d. per cubic yard of stuff shifting) talking to Robert Mann this afternoon he said he would do it at 6d. per cubic yard - Mr. SW- said he had bid £7,000 for A- for Mr. Armitage’s estimate of Home house - thought it make £120 per annum - but he had bid for another estimate for A- which he did not know whether she would take or not - £10,000 for Sir Joseph Radcliffe’s estimate adjoining (parted only by Stony Lane) the Cliff Hill land - yes! yes! said you are safe enough there - it would be cheaper, at £10,000 than another at £7,000 ‘yes! that it would - but Mr. Jones (the steward - of Huddersfield) said it must be a great price to tempt them to sell - they would not take £10,000 but Mr. J- said he would consider about it’ - well! said I, Miss W- will not miss it for £1100, I think or even something more - asked what it would make per annum - £265 according to the present rents - but good stone in it - SW- brought me his valuation annual and real of the estimate not including any valuation of wood, stone, or coal - considering the value of the stone he had valued the estimate at 40 years purchase .:. £265x40 = £10600 - SW staid near an hour - then some while with Marian - did not say anything particular - out at 12 ½ - sauntered about till Robert Mann + 4 (one more than in the morning) came to their work - sometime with them - then at Whiskam quarry then looking about in Coney wood for a largeish tree to remove - 35 minutes with Matty - the Holdsworth suspect William Polland wants to buy the cottages for me, so told him never to say a word more about them - then off to Mytholm met Holt - has ordered the Bendwood - thinks nothing of the engine pit surface being 20 yards (3 yards more than he and Joseph Mann calculated) above the upper bed coal - all right - one whimble hole enough - sure we are on the solid - then at Mytholm with Joseph Mann + 2 men and 2 boys - the road round the house almost pheyed thro’ the garden - began siding the stones on Friday and since then have got on well and are making a good job of it - Mrs. Aquilla Green looking after her cows - feeds and waters them 3 times a day when the man is not there - feels much the better for it - stood talking a long while - she let out that Joseph W- is fast with Norris owes him so much - I said I had heard a great deal about N- having his [clow] over upper brea - I should guess JW- owed him a thousand pounds - yes! she should not be surprised if he did - the Redbeck farm mortgaged to its full value -
 SH:7/ML/E/18/0168
yes! she and Aquilla always thought so - A- almost tired of keeping accounts for them and doing so much for them in that way (JW- no scholar) for they behaved so ill to him in return - got all they could out of Jack Green, and A- often thought he (Jack) would come to the poor house at last - told Mrs. AG- to be sure to tell her husband to go on taking the best care he could for JW and not to let Norris get the property out of him for nothing - let it be sold fairly and I would not let it go for nothing - it was 5 when I got back to Robert Mann and co. - they staid about 10 minutes afterwards then too dark to work - I sauntered to the Lodge the men just leaving it - nor I nor they spoke -sauntered about - sometime in the stable till George called me in at 6 5 - dressed - waited a little for A- dinner at 6 ½ and coffee in ¾ hour - then with my father and Marian till 8 - then A- went to my aunt and I came to my desk and till 9 ½ wrote all the above of today and looked into SW-‘s estimate valuation etc Letter tonight from Messrs. Hammersleys London with my account.  25 minutes with my aunt till very poorly but rather better than last night - then 10 minutes looking over the newspaper - fine day - F43° now at 10 ¼ pm and highish wind and rain at 11.

If you hang out around people with 3D printers long enough, you’ll hear from them everything there is to know about their 3D printer. And you’ll probably want one of your own, except at humanity’s current level of development, the fucking thing won’t do what you want and you’ll end up practically re-engineering it from scratch anyway. From clogging extruders to inaccurate servos, it turns out that 3D printers and 2D printers are both massive pains in your ass.
Plus, the damn things are just too tiny. If you want to make anything big enough to have a real impact on the world, you’re spending enough money that you might as well start a factory to crank out your pop-culture bludgeons.
Enter the Very Light Press Program. In the grand tradition of the American Heavy Press Program, we put a bunch of intense industrial machinery all over the country, so that you no longer have to deal with goopy plastic strands and hot-glue enemas whenever you want to make a 1/64th-size maquette of a pornographic anime character. Instead, just recruit a friendly machinist to produce a set of press dies, and then crank out thousands of them on sheet metal stock that would otherwise be wasted on stealth bombers and hospital beds.
Why are we doing this? For one thing, the government needs some money, and taking $10,000 a shot from some nerds every time they come up with a new Warhammer character they have to have at the end of their driveway is a perfect way to do it. And for another, a giant steel press is a lot more repeatable of a process than even the most expensive resin printers. You only need to clean it once in awhile, and usually only when someone ignores the caution-yellow tape and walks into the hazard zone during operation.
I will readily admit to a bit of self-serving in developing this program, but that doesn’t mean it won’t help others. Now you can stamp out an entire AMC Eagle unibody in a little over two hours – imagine all the hours of laborious rust repair that the economy is now liberated from. We’ll be driving these babies in the moon by this time next year.

Quad Versus Tri Patches In 3D Modeling
youtube
To give 3d depth in Maya, we would be smart to split the polygonal surface so that it really would much more be just an outline but a jet with cross-sectional vertices furthermore. One technique at a period of time. Don't feel rushed to every thing all the actual same time. When learning Home furniture 3D models be certain to understand the way works, you've attempted trials at it and which you understand it's shortcomings. Much like with anything else, learning too many things at one go be put into a mediocre understanding every one.
Tumblr media
There can be a company called Sweet Onion Creations possess been a great example the ways to take an existing building via Google SketchUp model and they'd print it in as little scale. For Architecture, fractional laser treatments saves plenty of money and months of working hard on modeling and mock ups for a projects. Although, industrial designers are essentially the most happy people because from this technology. This is Apples top-notch computer pricing $2799, spec at additional.2 GHz. The Mac Pro is used highly in the professional setting such as top film editing studios, recording studios, and 3D modeling. For me, this computer is the dream computer because it is vitally pricey, but it's Apples best computer they. Mistakes are minimized: Every single time a project has been modeled in 3D, there might be a much lower likelihood of the designer/s having the ability to say; "Oh no, I forgot that bar would intersect that wall", or something like that (insert your special experience here). This is simply because things could be from all angles in 3D. Furthermore, it allows all relevant parties to onboard 'the same page' so to speak. This helps eliminate the; "I couldn't know you would put that there", malady. I am going to break down each Apple computer, by giving you my head and opinions what Chance is essentially the most effective for produces of users, as well what might and what won't. Any person has a second agenda making use of a computer, some for Graphic Design, Video Editing, Web Surfing etc. That leaves some Apple computers better then others depending what find yourself while using computer for many. A 3D(tri-dimensional) printer, is related to a 2D(bi-dimensional) printer. While 2D prints X and Y (Long and width), a 3D prints X, Y and Z (Long, Width and Height ). There is a lot of videos showing how this technology works and shows the finished thing. These same steps are used to make the world or levels the characters stay in except that no motion needs to added. The actual character, level, and the characters motion are created we can add it all to the game engine to get things in motion. The game engine provides each brains for that game. They detect the input because of the keyboard, mouse or joystick and they translate it into undoubtedly the motions or actions designed previously. Game engines also detect every single time a missile fired at remarkable the criminals hits contain strong guy or misses and hits the wall. This is called collision detection. Game engines also decide which way a bullet goes once it fired, is just called game physics.

Hey Rox, random question. How can one learn to draw? I mean, I got the whole take a pencil and a paper and practice everyday but I mean, after doing that you understand proportions, light, perspective? Naturally? Just by practicing everyday?
Artists telling people just to practice art and not giving them any solid starting place is a bullshit cop-out and something I’ve probably said at some point, but I’m going to rectify it now by giving you a comprehensive guide to starting art.
Some people may disagree with me (and honestly I recommend asking other artists this same question to see what they say and what you yourself agree with), but I think no matter what kind of 2D art you want to make, you should start with traditional, realistic drawing or painting. The reason for this (aside from anecdotal evidence of it working for me) is that learning to draw things that occur in real life gives you a foundation for branching out into different styles or media down the line. Even if you want to draw cartoons or anime, learning realistic drawing will help you, because it will familiarize you with the complicated shapes that more cartoony drawings simplify or exaggerate. For example, if you learn to draw a realistic nose, then you can see different ways to turn that realistic shape into a simplified version of itself. Practicing realistic art can also help train your eye and get you accustomed to different techniques such as line quality, shading, color theory, composition, and various types of art materials, or media, as I will probably begin referring to it as.
So, the next step is to figure out how the hell to start learning to draw realistic stuff. I will help, using written descriptions, tips, and videos I have found online to help you.
First off is Materials/Media.
You can make art with practically anything. Anything from the humble paper and pencil to the most expensive and high-end art supplies. You can burn a piece of wood in a fire for a bit and then use the charred end to make marks with. You can use mud to paint with. You can dip your toe in ink and use that as a paintbrush. My point is that you can really get creative with it and I think creating art should be a joyful experience, not a painful one.
Art supplies can be very expensive, so for beginners I really do recommend a paper and pencil. Not a mechanical pencil either, but one of those wooden ones. They work well for drawing because you can use both the point and the side of the lead to make marks with. I also recommend getting a good eraser. My favorite kind are the grey kneadable ones, because you can squish them into any shape you need for any particular area that needs erasing. I’ll link to some on Amazon later on.
You can practice pencil drawings on lined paper (I have a whole lot of sketches I did in high school that are just on lined paper), printer paper, cardboard, etc, or you could invest in a sketchbook. Cheap sketchbooks are pretty easy to find, like they have them at my local grocery store, but you can also find them online for fairly cheap. Sketchbooks are made of different paper depending on the media (drawing materials) that you’re using. Paper intended for pencil drawings tends to have quite a fine grain for smooth blending, whereas paper in watercolor sketchbooks is rough and absorbent to suit the wet medium. You can get a sketchbook with any paper you want, really. I’ve done pencil drawings on pastel paper before, because it was the only paper around, and it still looked nice, just different than it would on finer grain paper. What materials you choose to use depends on the look you’re going for, and you’ll figure that out more with experience.
To start with, just grab some paper and a pencil and start making marks on it. See how many different looking marks you can make on the paper. I’m not really talking about shapes persay, but literal marks with the pencil. Thin lines, thick lines, scribbles with lots of pressure or just a little bit of pressure. Scrape the side of the pencil along the paper and see what it does. Try blending the lines with your finger. Just take some time to play with the material without getting hung up on creating anything. Do this sort of experimenting with any new art material you’re introduced to. The first thing you should do with a new tool is acquaint yourself with it, and that’s what this is doing. Get used to how the pencil feels in your hand and what motions feel comfortable with it. Keep in mind that you don’t have to hold the pencil the same way as if you were writing. Often if I’m shading with a pencil, I will hold it with all of my fingers around it and use my thumb to put pressure on it.
Now, shading.
Shading and mark making go together, because shading is basically using the marks you’re making with your pencil or pen to indicate lightness vs. darkness. To practice mark making and the techniques that are used for shading, I recommend watching this video and drawing along with the exercise. The artist uses pens in it but you can do it with pencil too!
When you’re ready, you can start trying to shade basic forms (shapes). Shading gives a two dimensional shape a three-dimensional look. It turns a flat circle into a sphere. Once you learn how to shade basic shapes, you can pretty much figure out how to shade just about anything. For example, once you learn how to shade a sphere, you know how to roughly shade a head! And what is an arm if not a cylinder? A nose if not a pyramid?
There are lots of videos online for practicing this. Here’s one that’s pretty good.
This is where I recommend starting. Once you are more comfortable with that, here is a list of things that you can look up and try to get a handle on, in what I think is a pretty alright order.
Perspective (one-point, two-point, three-point)
Value, Tint, Shade
Drawing negative space
Foreshortening
Composition
Drawing from life
Color theory
It would take me a very long time to outline all of this stuff, which is why I’ve given you that list of stuff to look for online. There are a lot of great resources out there and I recommend searching for them and comparing them. I can’t go into depth on everything right now because there’s a LOT of stuff, but I hope the little outline I gave you will help give you a foundation and know where to look and what to look for! If you have any questions about specific stuff, feel free to come and ask me about it and I’ll try to help.
Here are links to some cheap art materials on Amazon:
Grey kneadable eraser
Sketchbook for pencil
Pen set
There are lots of other listings for stuff like this online, so do check around for what you want! The ones I linked are just options.
I hope this helped! Thank you for the ask anon, and good luck!
