Pretty Girl
a/n: Okay, I haven't written a legit fanfic in years so I'm so nervous publishing this. Any feedback would be appreciated. Also I was thinking of making a part 2, lmk if any one would like me to
warnings: none, just fluff, maybe annoying mutual pining. also probably a few mistakes. I didn't thoroughly proof read this
word count: 1.9k
summary: Dustin can't stop talking about the sub he got to fill in for Lucas, making Steve want to smash his head into a wall. That is, of course, until he sees you.
PART 2 HERE PART 3 HERE
disclaimer: reader is 18 and a senior in high school
Tumblr media
Steve was losing his mind. He loved Dustin Henderson as if he were his little brother, but he might just strangle him at this very moment. First, he would not stop talking about Eddie ‘the freak’ Munson and now he won’t shut up about the substitute they had to bring into their little nerd club to play their little nerd game.
“… she’s just so cool! She had no idea how to play, Mike and I gave her a quick lesson before the session and then she goes and lands a crit hit on the most powerful dark wizard of all time!” Dustin was so impressed he couldn’t see that Steve wasn’t even really paying attention anymore, choosing to stack the new releases in alphabetical order instead. “She’s so pretty too” Dustin sighed “and nice.”
“Is Dustin still talking about that girl he forced to play Dungeons and Dragons?” In walked Robin from the back room. She sat down behind the counter. “Hasn’t stopped.” Were the first words Steve had said in the last twelve minutes.
“I did not force her!”
Dustin had found you sitting alone at the very back of the library whilst writing an essay for your English class. You were one of the maybe four students that were in there. Most of your peers excited for the basketball game that day after school. Dustin had realized he had seen you before and almost all the times he had seen you, you were alone. The boy figured asking you would be a win-win; this way you could maybe gain some more friends and he wouldn’t have to die. He rushed towards you, rambling about hellfire and getting his ass kicked by Eddie before he knew it you were agreeing to help. In all honesty, it wasn’t very easy for you to agree. Your stomach twisting at the thought of being in a room full of people you didn’t know but saying no to this boy somehow seemed worse; like killing a unicorn or something.
After agreeing, Mike and Dustin sat with you in the library and helped you create a character sheet, explaining the basics of DND in the short period of time before the session. You were never really expecting to have fun. In fact, you were fully expecting for your character to die immediately. When she didn’t you started to pay more attention. The excitement around you fueling your own. It was nice to be a part of something, surrounded by people that loved something so much made you feel warm and happy. You had never felt so at ease, comfortable doing something out of your comfort zone.
“Yeah? So, cornering (y/n) in the school library the way Steve does every female customer was the ethical thing to do?” Robin said.
“Dude! I don’t corner anyone.” Steve looked up indignantly from the VHS tapes at Robin.
Robin rolled her eyes and continued her scolding. “You know she was gonna say yes, she’s the nicest person I know. I don’t think I’ve ever heard her say the word no.”
Steve was listening to them argue about whether Dustin dragged you to the nerd meeting or not when he heard the door to the video store open. His eyes landed on you walking through the door. The prettiest girl he’s ever seen walking into the fluorescent lit store. Lips parted as you tried catching your breath from the bike ride there. Steve felt like he forgot how to act like a human being, not even being able to execute his usual greeting or offer a charming smile. He watched you look around the store. Pretty eyes scanning until they landed on something behind Steve. You raised your hand to give a small wave. A wave he almost returned had Dustin not spoken up.
“(y/n). hey!” Dustin said as he walked over to the front of the register, right beside Steve. He had his eyes fixed on you, stare unwavering as you made your way toward Dustin and himself. Your eyes flicked over to Steve, acknowledging him with the cutest smile he had ever seen. Steve was never this awestruck by something as simple as a smile but he wished he could tattoo your smile to the inside of his eyelids so he could never forget it.
“Hi (y/n).” Robin was the next person to greet you.
“Hi Robin, I didn’t know you worked here.” He finally heard you speak and Steve never thought a voice could be so sweet.
“You know me, never one to brag.” A small giggle escaped your lips and if he thought your voice was sweet your laugh was like cotton candy; soft and pillowy. He couldn’t help but want to make you laugh for the rest of his life. Robin watched Steve look at you with the dumbest look she’s ever seen on his face, which is saying a lot. She genuinely had to bite back a laugh. “You know the hair, right?” Robin nodded her head towards Steve. That was his queue he had to get rid of the heart eyes and turn on the charm. You looked up at him which is when it finally clicked. He recognized you from his time at Hawkins High. Remembered you walking the halls alone with your head down most of the time. He never thought too much about you back then, which right now he regretted greatly, distracted with his douchebag friends and his relationship with Nancy to ever really notice most people.
“Yeah, I remember Steve.” You nodded your head. “Hello.” The hint of another smile on your lips. He so desperately had to hold himself back from hugging you. He wanted to be close to you, to hold you. Steve really didn’t understand what had gotten over him. Sure, he had liked girls before but being this whipped so immediately was definitely new to him.
“Hi, sweetheart.” He tried licking moisture back onto his lips, but his mouth was dry. He leaned back onto the counter and smiled. Trying his best to be as smooth as possible. He didn’t want to look at Robin or Dustin, mostly because that meant having to look away from you but also because he knew the look on their faces right now would be one of disgust.
The skin on your face started feeling incredibly warm. You had never spoken to Steve when he was in school, to be fair you hadn’t spoken to many people but speaking to King Steve seemed an impossible task. He was like art at the museums you liked to frequent, beautiful but untouchable.
Dustin removed his gaze from Steve whilst shaking his head and placed it back on you. “What are you doing here?” He asked. Right, you came here for something. What was that something? The brief interaction with Steve was enough to make you slightly lightheaded. You started nipping at the inside of cheek, rummaging through your head.
“Oh, I accidentally took your DND notebook yesterday. It said return if found and then your address was inside, which by the way I think is an awful idea. There are weird people out there, Dustin. You have to be more careful.” Steve and Dustin making eye contact, both thinking about the irony of telling Dustin to be safe. You reached for his notebook inside your messenger bag. “When I got to your house your mom said you might be here.” You took a few steps, offering him his journal. Now close enough to be able to smell Steve’s cologne, your gaze drifted for a second up to his face and he was looking down at you. The second your eyes met, he smiled, making you look away abruptly. He was making you way more nervous than usual. Your hands were getting clammy, and your breath was a little shaky. Steve Harrington was so beautiful. You always knew this but you had never had the honor of being this close to him.
“Dude, this is like the second time you’ve saved my life!” Dustin grabbed the notebook with a wide smile. You let out a small laugh. This kid’s smile was infectious, no matter the situation, if Dustin smiled you smiled. Those are the rules.
“Trying my best.” You closed your bag whilst taking a few steps back. Trying to make some distance between you and Steve, hoping to any God he couldn’t see your shaky hands. “Right. I’ll just get going then.” As the words left your mouth Steve started to panic. He can’t just let you leave. He had only said two words to you. His brain going on over drive trying to think of ways to get you to stay even a little longer. He looked outside at your bike and then at the dark clouds in the sky. It was definitely going to start raining soon.
“Wait!” He said this a little louder than anticipated. He cleared his throat as you turned your head to look at him. He smiled softly as he looks at your eyes again. He thinks he could look at your eyes all day. “You just got here; you should hang around with us. It’s for sure going to start raining soon. I can’t let a pretty girl get caught riding her bike in the rain.” Dustin snickered and Steve elbowed his shoulder immediately to get him to shut up. The taller boy watched as your eyes widened slightly at the use of the word pretty. You were so cute it was driving him crazy.
“Yeah, dingus is right. You should stay, besides tonight’s movie night. You can join us at Steve’s house. We’re gonna pig out on junk and watch horror movies. Steve is going to drive us all home after, he’s our trusty chauffeur.” Steve looked at Robin as she spoke, and he swears he could’ve planted a kiss on her forehead right then and there. Robin looked at him for a second with a small smirk on her face.
You fiddled with the strap of your bag as you thought about it. It would really suck to be caught in the rain, besides this could be fun right? You said yes to DND and that was fun. Doing things you wouldn’t normally do seemed to be working for you so why stop now? Of course, this had nothing to do with the way your heart raced when Steve looked at you or the way you really wanted to be in his presence longer or how pink and shiny his lips looked or how you wondered what his hand would feel like holding your hand.
“I would really like that.” You smiled at Robin and then turned to look at Steve. “If that’s okay with all of you.” This was directed more at Steve than it was to Dustin. There was a moment of silence as Steve stared at your pretty face, a smile adorning his features making him look like a lovesick puppy. It was Dustin’s turn to elbow the idiot to his left. That was enough to break the trance.
“Of course it’s okay with us. Right Dustin?” He glared at the boy that just assaulted him.
Dustin nodded his head. “It’d be an honor to have you at our movie night, (y/n).” Steve reached over to pat his younger friend on the shoulder.
“It’s set then.” He said, more excited for it to reach closing time than he has ever been.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairing: Jaemin x Reader Genre: College au, fluff Word Count: 915 A/N: Didn't proofread too much pls forgive any typos </3
Jaemin had tried to avoid professor Kwon’s spring semester sociology class for three years.
Each Fall semester he would end up taking other, more necessary courses, and every spring he would take every class that wasn’t sociology. He has heard about her Valentine’s Day assignment his first year at the university, and since then had worked to avoid that requirement as much as possible.
However, she was the only professor for the course those in his major could take, so he was stuck being one of the only two seniors in the class made for freshman.
You, like Jaemin, had also avoided Professor Kwon. Unlike Jaemin though, it wasn’t just because of her Valentine’s Day assignment- it was the annoying class project she would have her class do in the midst of it all.
"All right folks- my older students know exactly what time it is," Professor Kwon cheered as the rest of the class groaned. The first month of class had fairly simple assignments- stand backwards in an elevator, order dinner dessert first, and write out your thoughts. However, the Valentine's Day assignment was different.
"All right, so, who will you be romantically pursuing?" you asked, popping open your notebook.
Jaemin avoided your eyes. You were always the prettiest person sitting at the front of his class. You were always quick to help any of your fellow peers. You had a laugh that reminded him of a soft bell when you were being polite, and a booming laugh he couldn't help but smile at whenever you let it slip.
"So I guess you don't know yet," you let that polite laugh go. "I'm not interested in anyone, so I guess I'll do a proposal to my friends to have a game night."
"Game night?" Jaemin tilted his head curiously.
"Oh, yeah. My friends and I play board games every few weeks."
A lightbulb went off above his head then, "I'll do that too. I'll propose joining your board game group- I wouldn't have to actually join," he quickly added the last part, his eyes again avoiding yours.
"Hm, are you sure there's no one you want to ask on a date?" this surprised you. Jaemin was hot- like, stupid hot. You and all of your friends followed his instagram and would swoon over all of the artistic photos he would post mixed in with photos of himself. He usually sat in the back of the class, which you typically appreciated. You feared sitting next to him would legitimately distract you from your coursework.
"Oh, you must be dating someone," you figured out loud.
Jaemin's eyes went wide, and he shook his head. "No I just... I don't want to do something alone."
So, for two weeks every afternoon you two began to meet in a private study room in the library. Markers, pens, and lots of glitter.
"So, what board games do you guys play?" Jaemin asked, his sweater taken off and exposing the simple white t-shirt he wore underneath.
"Um... some like... geeky stuff I don't want to bore you with the details," you spoke quickly. This was true, when you weren't all going through a dungeons and dragons campaign, you were playing different highly intensive tabletop games.
"I like details," and when you looked up from the plasterboard you were working on, you saw his bright smile aimed towards you. He paused his half of the work to sit cross legged on the table, listening to you fully talk about your favorite board games.
"Y'know... if you wanted to actually join one of our game nights, you can," you offered the night before your planned proposal. He waved this off, saying he wouldn't be good and slow everyone down- you had sort of figured this excuse of his.
"How about... a practice round?" you brought out the competitive, card-drive engine-builder with the wrapping on top. You had changed your Valentine's Day proposal under Jaemin's nose- for a week you frankly were just doing other assignments in the room helping Jaemin with his own plans.
Although, it was becoming obvious to you that he too was just making up things to do as an excuse to around you.
You had wrapped the board game up in different pages of different books you and Jaemin had spoken over these past two weeks. To be honest, you two had spoken a lot, and thanks to Professor Kwon, you'd be speaking a whole lot more.

Not A Bully- Eddie Munson xreader Fan Fic
Tumblr media
Summary: Y/N sees Eddie being bullied by Jason and goes to comfort him and there’s a misunderstanding & gets fixed
Warnings: angsty, fluff, shy Eddie, maybe swearing, happy ending
(Y/N’s POV)
I’m at school eating lunch when I see Eddie at his lunch table but then I see Jason going over to Eddie and bullying him and Eddie seemed pretty upset when Jason left so I got up to go see if he was ok.
I walked over to Eddie and sat down by him and said “Hey Eddie, are you ok? I saw Jason was being rude to you I’m sorry about him don’t mind him ok?” Eddie looked at me rolling his eyes and said “oh that asshole I don’t care, are you here to make fun of me too?” I shook my head and said “no no I swear I’m not here to be a bully, I really wanted to see if you were ok, you don’t deserve to be treated so horribly I see how much of a good person you are.” Eddie pointed to himself looking surprised and said “me? You think I’m a good person? No one has ever really said that to me before, that means a lot coming from a really great girl like you Y/N, you’re a sweetheart.”
(Eddie’s POV)
Damn this girl is such a sweetheart, at first I thought she came to make fun of me or something but we’ve talked a few times and she’s so nice and I’ve had a crush on her I wonder if she likes me? I smiled at her and said “hey I’m sorry I thought you were here to bully me too by the way, I appreciate you sitting with me. I needed some cheering up and you being here and that cute smile of yours makes me feel a lot better.” Y/N blushed and looked down and then looked back at me and said “just trying to be a good friend Eddie, no big deal. You think I have a cute smile?” I froze and said “huh? I didn’t say that I said you have a nice smile?” Y/N shook her head and said “no, you said I have a cute smile silly. Do you like me Eddie?” I sighed and said “shit, yea I have feelings for you Y/N. Ever since we first met you’re so sweet and whenever we had a class together I’d wanna sit next to you just so I could talk to you but I always chickened out, you’re the prettiest girl in school and I didn’t think you’d like a freak like me.” Y/N said “truth is Eddie I like you too, since that day you offered me your extra pencil during that class. I like how you’re so passionate about dungeons and dragons and music.” I couldn’t believe that a girl like Y/N has feelings for me and likes me for who I am but she just made me so happy. I hugged her and said “you’re amazing you know that?”
We broke away from the hug and looked at each other and smiled and I leaned in to kiss her and she smiled and said “wow, that was really nice.” I kissed her again and said “I love you Y/N, would you be my girl?” She nodded and said “yes, I love you too Eddie Munson!” I hugged her tight and the class bell rang and I took her hand in mine and said “why don’t you come to a hellfire game tonight after school? I’d love for you to be there.” Y/N smiled and said “I’d like that a lot, I’ll meet you after school Eddie I love you.” I kissed her hand gently and said “and I love you sweetheart see you soon.”
Hey Lovelies!! Ok so my wonderful friend @lokiandbuckysdoll gave me the amazing idea for this fan fic 😁 I hope you all enjoy xx♥️❤️

being eddie’s sister and liking steve…
turns out the big bad eddie munson has a younger sister… and she’s far less intimidating.
part 1 ?
tw: mentions of chrissy’s death, brief mentions of maxs past, mentions of parental trauma
Tumblr media
technically, you’re younger than Eddie.
however, with his super senior status, you’re in the same graduating class
EIGHTY FOUR BABY
you love your brother
how could you not?
he was the first to defend you against anyone, whether it was mean kids at school or your own parents
but, just like any siblings, you needed your space
so even though you were the bass to your brothers guitar, when you got to high school, you went a separate route rather than be in the band
you joined the cheer team, where you became best friends with Chrissy
not so much her boyfriend, who you and eddie both felt needed to be put in his place
“he literally told chrissy she needed to put more effort into her appearance around his mom, as if she isn’t already insecure.”
“that’s fucked up, isn’t it common knowledge chrissy’s ‘the prettiest babe’ in school?”
“aw, does eddie have a little crush on chris?”
he side eyed you, but didn’t say anything other than, “we should egg his car.”
you did.
nobody tell chrissy
dispite his hate for jason
and organized sports
and crowds
eddie showed for every. single. game.
just to watch his baby sister cheer
even if he was hanging out the gym door the whole time
you showed up to some of eddie’s dungeons and dragons meetings as well, just to hear the stories he made up
they reminded you of the stories he would make up for you as kids
you liked his new freshman this year too, they were hilarious
they were dorky and had no shame
like dustin, who would out of pocket talk about his best friend steve harrington
king steve, who ran the basketball team
and was always picked first in gym
and was famous for being the life of the party
steve the hair harrington
who… you get the idea.
so maybeee you had a tiny thing for the freshly graduated guy, who loved everything you and your brother hated
who cares? last you heard, he was dating mikes older sister
nancy wheeler, who was all gentle smiles and soft sweaters and perfect academics and a perfect laugh and brought the best out in him
that is, until one day dustin asked mike, “so is it still safe for you guys to have the sleepover at wills over break, or will nancy and jonathan be swapping spit the whole time?”
jonathan.
not steve.
your ears perked up
not like it mattered, though. steve was graduated.
he probably wouldn’t want to take a senior out, especially not the only cheerleader who actively avoided him for fear of embarrassment his whole basketball career.
you forgot about the conversation pretty quickly, though. only nights later, disaster struck.
you were digging your keys to your uncles trailer out of your bag, when your brother burst through the door and took you to the ground
you screamed, and he slapped his hand over your mouth and begged you to be quite and that you both had to go
through the door, you saw a head of blonde hair on the floor…
he dragged you from the trailer and into the woods
after about a half an hour of running through the dark, you dug your feet in the ground and demanded to know what was going on
the look on your brothers face broke you
“y/n… you have to believe me.” he said, looking deep in your eyes.
“i always believe you ed.”
for the next day, the two of you hide out in his drug dealers garage.
you mourn your best friend
and you are so, so glad your brother dragged you away before you could see her fully
even when something terrible happens to him, he’ll never let it touch you.
you felt terrible for him
you knew how he felt about chrissy
when dustin and his friends came looking for you guys, your feelings about steve were thrown out the window
you grabbed the oar out from under the tarp and came after steve with it, screeching
“WOAH WOAH WOAH,” steve used his dad voice as you bashed the oar into his ribs “TAKE IT EASY- y/n?”
you pointed the oar at him like a spear
you didn’t know he knew your name
still,
“he didn’t do it.”
eddie lept out from the tarp and pushed his way in front of you and grabbed steve by the throat
listen
it was fine to beat him away with an oar
but choke him to death ?
too far, especially since he didn’t seem to be fighting back
dustin pulled eddie off steve
he recoiled back to you, and for a second, you could see the fear in his eyes
steve stared at you while he caught his breath
“what… what the hell is y/n munson doing hitting me with an oar?”
you all stared at him.
“steve,” dustin sighed. “you’re so lucky you’re pretty.”
very pretty you thought
the hair didn’t even move when you were hitting the shit out of him
his eyebrows raised in surprise
“what’re you like… cousins?”
you rolled your eyes
“right… cause the pretty showgirl cheerleader babe couldn’t possibly be my sister, huh king steve?”
there was a heavy tension in the room
steve blushed
dustin, ever the comic relief, pat steve on the back
“hey dude, i didn’t realize till like, two months into hell fire.”
eddie stared at him
“what!” he threw his hands up in exasperation, “she is SO much cooler than you dude.”
“are you shittin’ me?”
“she can do a backflip bro.”
“i can do a back flip.”
“you can do a back flop.” you interject
robin put her hands up “can we please get back to the part about how eddie is wanted by the whole town for a murder he didn’t commit?”
from there on, you and eddie were officially in the group
there was a very brief, very confusing explanation of the upside down
but it wasn’t hard to believe after what eddie told you
you mostly stuck around eddie, and surprisingly, lucas
you recognized him from all the games you cheered
eddie dogged on him for skipping out on his program for the big game the other day
but you told him how glad you were he went
and how “all the freshman cheerleaders were swooning”
he have a tight lipped smile but didn’t say anything, which you thought was weird
until a little later
“hey, i know you meant it with good intentions, but just so you know, lucas has only ever really cared about one girl.”
it was steve
“oh?” you said
steve pushed back some hair from his face and raised his eyebrows in maxs direction
a gentle smile washed over your face, and if steve had fallen for you before, now he was stumbling face first
“so, that’s why she’s being short with him but then stealing glances when she thinks no one can see her?”
steve chuckled. “she’s doing that?”
“oh yeah. that girl can save face though. anytime anyone even makes a move in her direction she makes it look like she’s just ‘browsing the perimeter’ or some shit.”
steve smiled and looked toward his friend, and it was your turn to melt
“yeah, she’s good at that,” he said. his face fell a bit. “she’s been through some shit.”
you felt your own smile drop. “yeah. i guess all of us have.”
and suddenly felt like the biggest asshole to ever walk the earth
your best friend just died
you and eddie lived with your uncle in a trailer because your parents couldn’t take care of you
and now your older brother was on hawkins most wanted list
plus whatever else he doesn’t know about your past
“hey, i know you probably don’t want to talk while we’re trying to save your brother from metaphorically getting burnt at the stake, but… if you ever wanted to like, talk about any of this- or anything else-“
your smile returned to your face
“what, king steve wants to play therapist?”
he cringed at the old nickname, but smiled right along with you
“god no, i can’t even solve my own problems. but… i’ve seen some pretty strange things.”
“oh yeah? like what?”
“those demogorgon things dustin was telling you about?”
“yeah?”
“i beat one with a spiked bat in the beyers living room.”
you stared at him for a moment. “yeah… i don’t think i’m the one that needs to talk.”
he chuckled. “oh just wait till you hear about the russian spies.”
the two of you went back and forth for a while, moving on from horror stories to funny ones
you talked about everything and nothing, and your heart felt lighter than it had in years
eddie watched in the background, shaking his head
as much as he hated sports and preppy guys like steve, nothing would ever make him smile more than seeing you happy

I don't know if you've played Bloodborne, but just in case you haven't: You can go in randomly generated dungeons in that game, and the best meta seed to use for farming is "cummmfpk"
Also completely unrelated but would Bloodborne be Grim's favorite game?
You can't just mention that fact and then ask if that's Grimm's favorite game. Of course it is.
On a more serious note, I could see him enjoying it. I remember I tried getting into Bloodborne but found it way too frustrating to be fun. Grimm would have far more patience than me, and I like to think he would be very good at video games in general (better than me for sure), so I could absolutely see him liking Bloodborne a lot. Would it be his favorite game? I'm not sure, despite his vampiric nature I don't think he really gravitates towards the violent and gritty games as his first choice. I honestly think something along the lines of The Sims would be more to his taste, at the very least its build and buy mode. He's quite a creative and artistic person, he likes when things look beautiful, and he would make some of the prettiest houses you can imagine. But what's the most likely option is that he just doesn't have a single favorite game. He's played so many of them, and he ends up enjoying most of them, so it would be difficult for him to pick. Though you wouldn't guess that based on how much he plays Minecraft, it would be easy to assume that game is his favorite, but he plays it mainly to play together with FPK. Though he still loves it as a game, again, its potential for creativity is right up his alley.

Do you think the Snatchers and Bell-ringers are Pthumerians?
I definitely do! In fact, I believe Bellringing Women bit is hinted on by a description of one of the chalices?
Tumblr media
Not only the looks, but also the fact that both Snatchers and Bell-ringers are exclusively found in Dungeons + connected with School of Mensis (whom we did figure HAD Pthumerians involved). Also:
Tumblr media
While I was looking at Snatchers again for this ask, I noticed this super cool detail, that their necklace looks like a torch sort of...? And we know Pthumerians dabble in pyromancy + if Keepers of the Old Lords are any indication, fire - and setting your body and soul in fire - was sort of a sacred thing for them! Makes me wonder if necklace design is one of the tokens of that. Heck, their odd skin patterns might be burnt marks? Unusual color, because Pthumerians are still not quite humans!
(My headcanon is fire magic gifted to their kind by Wet Nurse that once was one of the crowlike Great Ones living on the sun but sacrificed like 70% of her body to help proto-humans to survive THEIR beast plague at least somewhat)
What also messes me up sometimes is:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There is clearly some heritage within Cainhurst! Annalise does recognise the meaning of that ring, too.
I personally do not think that pthumerians slowly evolved into humans on their own somehow? For me pthumerians appear to be sort of proto-humans, kinda like nephilim! They even have racial variety of their own - just skin that is bleach white and shades of grey, rather than beige and shades of brown. However, I do think that they are ABLE to mingle genetically with humans! My biggest hook is that Maria who looks as human as possible, can use fire blood magic that appears to be their genetics (at least / especially taking roots from Pthumeru Ihyll).
My lucky guess is that this line, the now known Cainhurst nobles, at least has had a long line of generations of pthumerians procreating with humans - only the strongest and the prettiest ones! - in order to weed out 'unwanted' genes and take the best from both species. Leading to a mixed line - super tall humanoids with very pale skin and permanent dark circles under eyes. Not always pale skin though, it depends on the region... But yeah, Cainhurst vilebloods had a LOT of arrangement I think. The royal people just tend to be like this about bloodlines :pensive:
Tumblr media
These guys are also what gives me a hunch that pthumerians or humans or both were not really nice to offsprings that showed genes they considered 'unwanted'? Lost Child of Antiquity is a mob that is also found in Pthumeru Ihyll - so, associated with the line that eventually became Cainhurst vilebloods. Giant Lost Child is associated with Loran - they are only found in Nightmare Frontier (and stormy pathwalk to Nightmare of Mensis, which IS layer of Nightmare Frontier)... We did agree as a fandom that Nightmare Frontier must be connected to Loran, right?
So like, Giant Lost Children were disowned once they were born like this - and used in slavery it seems?? This is what whip lashes are? I think this also has connection with how pthumerians have gigantic variants sometimes - like giant Church Servants, or Shark Giants (my beloathed -_-), or the big guys in the dungeons with cannons and literal candles on their backs! This one might be result of painful birth mutation where it is mesh of human and this 'gigantic' pthumerian.
(But, I honestly do not have an idea what could have caused a mutation that makes you look rocky and have bat-like wings (undeveloped). I think Kin were involved though - there are themes of petrification from great blast of Arcane in the game (Eye Pebbles, Rom's "corpse" on altar, statues all over Upper Cathedral covered in dramatic manner as if they were creatures that ended up turning into stone, petrified people in Yahar'gul)... And it is Arcane-boosting blood gems that are grey in color, too. The closest to winged Kin we do have are Gardens of Eyes.)
I side-tracked but yeah, yeah they are pthumerians. Hell, I'd argue that Bloodborne Patches is easily mixed between human and pthumerian, just look at him closer!
Tumblr media
I am yet to figure what did happen historically - how there are friendly pthumerians that do NOT act like zombies (like Chapel Dweller), what about pthumerians that seem to have lost their roots (like Logarius), why ones like Church Servants work for the group that has been actively raiding the dungeons where remains of their civilisation were etc? So many questions??
Though the gist of this I think, most remaining pthumerians have gone crazy from living far too long thanks to their unholy magic and rites, longer than what nature had prepared for them, but naturally humans didn't learn from history and attempted doing the same lol

Has Linkle ever been to Labrynna or Holodrum? (The countries the Oracle games take place in)
Hun, you do not know how much longer you made my shift when you sent this ask and I NEEDED to get on my laptop to answer.
No she hasn't been to these places, but god damn she should. They are my favorite nostalgia games and I keep going back. I could 100% them with no guide. I love the characters, I love the gameplay. I love the linking. I want another like it.
So let's look at them game by game.
Linkle isn't THE hero, but she has certain traits. Definitely purer than most. And she has that mysterious compass. So she could move the stone blocking the path to Nayru. She'd obviously take on the responsibility to save her, fuck Ralph. Fast forward after time travel, we got Lesbian Tree. Linkle does address it and manages to shelf those feelings with respect til the crisis is averted.
Linkle knows her dungeon crawl! She's be awesome at going through! Favorite item though? Roc's Cape. Gotta style on them hoes and leap. When she finally get to Veran, she tries to reason with her. Surrender and stop the madness or she will take matters in her own hands. Veran underestimates Linkle. Her last mistake. Linkle smooches Nayru, the day is saved! Off to the next adventure!
Din is the prettiest of the two oracles in my opinion. Dancing with her is a gift to Linkle and she takes the kidnapping personally. This adventure is more combat focused, less on puzzles. And hun, Linkle has the violence in her. She does give Rosa a proper date. Exploration, story telling, games, and good food. So she makes Rosa happier.
The showdown with Onyx is epic. He too underestimates Linkle and she kicks his ass. But you know that eventually leads to Ganon. Time to kill the pigman, save the day, and get her Oracle kiss.
I'm of the opinion Linkle would do great on her adventure and it's a crime she didn't exist to take over these games yet!
All in all, give Linkle her game you cowards!

Are you happy with how your favorite canon muse was portrayed in canon? How do you create an OC? What are your steps for developing an OC?
Questions for the mun. A series of questions for the mun / the person behind the muse(s)
Are you happy with how your favorite canon muse was portrayed in canon?
For the most part, yes, actually. In this case I am referring to Gaius, and I am pretty sure he's my favorite of the canon characters next to Ryne, but I have some slight (very minor) gripes for Ryne so I'll just focus on Gaius for now.
If there are criticisms I suppose I just want more time with him and to learn more about what he's going to do next. I like Gaius a lot, and there are things I mentioned before, namely about how he isn't 'redeemed' and how I actually do like that not only have they not redeemed him, but in fact Gaius doesn't seem interested in redemption -- make no mistake, he clearly shows guilt for his actions, and he is definitely working towards unlearning everything Solus taught him, but he hasn't dropped on his knees and begged every protagonist in the game to forgive him for his actions. He still has goals. He has new things to work on. He has things he wants to accomplish and they don't perfectly coincide with sucking up to the main characters and being a part of their personal cool kids squad -- he wants revenge, he wants information, and he actively has been seeking it out for a while now. I like that about him a lot.
I also liked the Sorrow of Werlyt storyline a lot for him, while it also definitely is one of those stories where I wish we just had more time with it if anything, but I appreciate it covering topics like his regret and how his influence continues to affect those he cared about, and how much his kids cared about him and how his actions ended up putting them in harms way because of Gaius's sense of justice.
Well, I could go on, but basically I like Gaius a lot because he fucks up so much and tries to reconcile with his actions. He doesn't immediately find a perfect solution to wrap things up neatly. He is struggling and getting by and doing what he can to resolve things, only once in an optional questline did he ever actively reach out for help (to the Warrior of Light for the Weapons questline) and for the most part he seems very content with not actually relying on anyone. Which I think also shows how he is still very much so not perfect and still behaving like himself, despite his dramatic shift in goals.
Also I just like seeing broken older/middle aged men having a dramatic shift in life and having to discover that they have a new path they can explore, and they can still strive to do more despite it being later in their life.
How do you create an OC?
I look at a series/game/franchise I like and I think 'does this game need more hoes?' and then I just add Mors.
I usually don't think much, I prefer to start with a very simple idea. When I first got into FF14, my very first thought was "I want to make the prettiest and sluttiest boy I can make" and then was immediately disappointed by how few outfit options there were and mostly paraded my miqo'te boy around naked. (and of course, I picked miqo'te, because.... cat.)
In the end I kept that simple premise in my brain, a very promiscuous and flirty man who can be a bit vain, and over time I just ask myself questions like 'how would this person feel being in this position that the game presented to me?' and I start to weave through that.
Despite conventional belief I actually appreciate canon a lot for helping me shape an OC, as I think the lore helps me with thinking about what my character would do. Even the very first dungeon, Sastasha, had me thinking my character would loathe that place because it is full of women who have been captured and held prisoner against their will in a den full of pirates. I think someone with pretty looks like my OC would probably have bad memories of such a thing and know that things like that are to be avoided, but the idea of being able to rescue them is enticing. From there, things expand because the world offers me ideas and it gets my mind working about answers to that idea.
Of course, there are my wildcard OCs, like Mors, where I know in the end he is simply someone of a lot of power and someone I think of trying to find himself a place in a world like FF14 (since he was originally from FF15) and since Mors is actually technically a canon character from FF15 (he is Noctis's grandfather) I tend to write characters like that too -- that is to say, characters with almost no information or story and basically take them and go 'mine now!!' because I am so curious about them. I like to call them Semi-canon OCs, people who have little to no mention or acknowledgement but are still technically characters in the game (like Edda, for example).
What are your steps for developing an OC?
I ask myself this:
What do I want to see more of?
What do I want their personality to be?
What in the game/series/etc do I wish got explored more, or ( found lacking when it was explored?
What do I think would be fun?
I ask that with canon characters too, at least with RP, because I think they are very important for writing in general.

16 Likes & Dislikes about Final Fantasy II
Tumblr media
I loved Final Fantasy I and I was excited to play the 2nd game in the series. When I first started playing Final Fantasy II, I thought the game was going to be just like FF1. I was right, but also very wrong! While both games have many similarities (like graphics or the same FF theme of "the world is in trouble"), I think their differences is what helps each game stand alone.
There were things I liked and disliked about Final Fantasy II, but overall, I really enjoyed the game! It was challenging but fun and that's exactly what made the final boss win feel extra great! With that said, here is a list of things I liked and disliked about the 2nd Final Fantasy game.
8 Things I Liked/Loved:
1. I loved that when an enemy dies, the attack still goes to another enemy. In FF1, if your target dies, then the character "misses" their hit. It was so annoying - I'm glad they changed that in FF2!
2. I liked the speed-up function inside the dungeons. If we could do this in FF1, I wasn't aware of it.
3. I liked that the shop music doesn't change inside villages. FF1's shop music was lowkey annoying, lol.
4. I loved the "Town" theme itself - it is one of the prettiest town themes in the series! I'm glad it plays throughout the villages, including the buildings you can enter.
5. I loved that the characters had their own personalities in this game. Each person we met was so different and it was fun getting to know them. I really liked Maria, Gus/Guy, and Leila!
6. I loved the magic system and that all of my characters, regardless of "class", were able to learn the same magic abilities. It reminded me a lot of the Materia system from Final Fantasy VII.
7. I LOVED that we could save on the world map! It was still tough not being able to save inside dungeons, but being able to save on a world map right outside a dungeon was so much nicer than having to find my way back to an inn.
8. I really like how linear and complete the story feels. Just like with FF1, there is a problem and it needs to be fixed. The game is wrapped up nicely and it really feels like you completed a journey!
8 Things I Did Not Like
1. Poor Probability of Fleeing
For the most part, Flee would work effortlessly, but other times, it was impossible for my party to run away and it gave me major anxiety when I was close to dying!!
2. Limited Number of Item Inventory
We were only allowed to carry 63 items, that includes equipment, battle-only items, and key items. 63 sounds like an okay amount, but I found myself discarding a bunch of items a few times because I needed more space (and I wasn't around a Shop to sell them off).
3. The World Map Kinda Sucks
They tried to do a 3D sphere model of a world map, and it just didn't work. A standard flat map would have been much better.
4. Making Money in the Beginning Feels Impossible
Enemies drop very small amounts of money and there aren't enough treasure chests that can help. FF1 gave us a lot of money through treasure chests, but this one doesn't. It makes buying important items like Gold Needles and Ethers in the beginning very challenging! Thankfully, as you progress through the game, you start saving up more.
5. Stat Increase/Decrease
When a character gets stronger in one area (Intelligence), I think they get weaker in another (Strength). For example, if I have Maria casting a lot of magic, her Magic skill increases but her Strength/Attack decreases. I didn't like that.
6. Only 2 Items In Battle
I wish there was a full Item list available during battles. Having to set 2 items was a challenge because I didn't know what I would need! I usually just had each character carry 2 Ethers to help my already-full inventory. SIGH!
7. Leila Leaves 😢
I really liked Leila. She was my favorite "guest" party member and I'm sad she wasn't a permanent part of my team!! She was funny, so strong, and fast!
8. Inn Prices Change
The prices to rest an inn would change all the time depending on my health and MP. I didn't understand why it was happening at first, but then I learned that the less HP and MP I have, the more it costs to "charge" back up to full health. Kinda lame, in my opinion... but it wasn't the worst thing ever. I made a habit of healing up the most I could and that helped lower the rates.

Demon Brothers React to MC Getting Kidnapped by Lesser Demons.
Watch out for minor first half spoilers!!
Lucifer
Kicking himself because he has to find out through Mammon that the MC is missing and he didn’t notice their absence himself.
The second the alarm gets raised he gets into a state somewhere between coldly rational and extraordinarily furious.
Definitely still level-headed enough to rally and organize his brothers for a search party but there's nothing but seething rage just rolling off of him the entire time. Probably-could-have-made-another-Satan type rage.
How well he keeps his composure will be based entirely on how long the MC is MIA. The first hour or so will be mostly put together but past that he'll start to slowly unravel as the panic takes hold.
At one point he even gets snippy with Diavolo over the phone and that's when you KNOW that he's reaching meltdown mode.
If he's the first to find the MC, his #1 priority is to get them away from whatever scum grabbed them and take them to the closest safe place he can find. He'd scoop them up so fast they won't even know where he came from, just whoosh! How'd I get on this roof??
Only once they're out of harm’s way will he circle back and deal with their kidnappers personally. You better be sure any damage done to his human will be reflected a thousandfold back onto their attackers. Probably coming back to the MC with some blood on him and is not going to care.
Relieved to have the MC back but restricts them from going out alone after a certain time now for their own good. If they need something that badly, they can come to him.
Also strings Mammon up by his toes that night for losing them in the first place.
"By the time Cerberus gets to you, I'll be sure you're only my table scraps…"
Mammon
The first to notice that the MC was being oddly quiet (thank their father for his text spamming habit) then found their stuff scattered and abandoned at RAD.
Told Lucifer right away and, oh boy, he is a mess: talking a mile a minute, punctuating his sentences with expletives, on the verge of tears, whole nine yards.
He left his human alone for what?? Like five minutes, if even, to go to the library and get themselves kidnapped?! What kind of guardian is he?!?
Already searching the place top-to-bottom without being told where to go or what to do.
He actually ends up a strange inverse of Lucifer. While Lucifer will start panicking more over time, Mammon will start panicking less as his fear escalates to all out anger. Give it a few hours and he’s not even going to be able to keep his demon form under control anymore.
You know this boy is legging it across the entire Devildom himself waving around some kind of hand-drawn "Have You Seen This Human?" flyer looking for any leads at all.
If he were to find the MC first, his first action would probably be to plant his foot right in the face of whoever took them. Hard. Then repeat until their skull’s a caved-in mess on floor. No mercy this time, just pure protective rage.
Following the fight, you'd think he was just reunited with his lost puppy. Lots of crying, hugging, and blubbering out apologies even when the rest of his brothers show up.
Would pretty much be glued to the MC's hip for at least a week afterward and makes more of a point to hang off of them in public now. They're his human after all, can't have anyone else getting the idea of pulling a stunt like that again.
"MC!! What'd ya go runnin' off for?? We're goin' home after I take out this trash, got it!!"
Leviathan
Wouldn't really want to believe it at first because it just feels too unreal, like, the same thing happened to Henry in Episode 86 of TSL when he was kidnapped by enemies of the Lord of Fools and it was up to his true friend to track him down…
Suddenly remembers that Henry was also tortured while he was taken and that really sets in the panic.
Unsure of how to help at first because he knows he's just a useless shut-in but Belphie of all people is the one to remind him that he does have one big advantage over his brothers: a fucking navy.
In an act of surprising backbone, he more or less demands a full fleet of ships from Diavolo and (honestly to his shock) he gets exactly that to comb the Devil’s Sea while looking for MC. Lotan even helps out!
If he were to be the first to find the MC (presuming they are indeed on a boat or something cause 🤷‍♀️) those kidnappers really shouldn't have challenged the third strongest brother in his natural element, eh? Those who aren't automatically lashed in the face or flung overboard by his tail get hung by the leg over the edge of the ship for Lotan to pick off one by one.
Sails back to shore with MC booming with pride that he of all people finally got to be their hero! Will literally be so happy if MC ever brings it up again, doesn't matter how much time has passed.
Things would settle back to normal pretty quickly after that, but he now checks up on the MC a lot more often and will even leave his room for them if they need to go somewhere and don't want to go alone. Can't have this turning into a rerun, you know?
"You hurt my only friend… So drown."
Satan
One guess how the Avatar of Wrath took the news. It's not swimmingly.
Unless your definition of "swimmingly" is a murderous rampage of toppling furniture, breaking windows, and swearing to curse right about anything that moves, in which case aptly put.
He gets stuck in an anger-induced tantrum for a bit before finally getting snapped back into coherent thought by Belphie and putting those mystery novels of his to good use. Smart boi takes second to Lucifer himself in the search, suggesting good locations for his brothers scout based on what clues they have to go on.
Of course, he's not content to just to call orders from the sidelines and is out searching himself like he's on the goddamn warpath. Doors? Who needs doors? If anything the hole I made in your wall is more efficient.
Should he be the first to find the MC he would coolly and methodically subdue any kidnapper he can get his hands on, release his human, and bring them home as soon as possible. They've been through quite enough today and don't need to see anything he's got planned for the bastards later.
But the second that Diavolo puts them in the castle dungeon, you best bet that Henry 1.0 is going to the LEAST of their worries. Who's ever wanted to play a life or death game of hide and seek with a giant snake and the incarnation of Wrath itself? First one caught gets the "quick" death! Any volunteers?
Might give the MC a mild scolding for going out when they shouldn't have but otherwise is just happy to see them back and safe. May act extra soft towards them for a couple days, just until the nerves of the situation finally wear off.
"Don't mistake this for mercy. I assure you, I don't know the meaning of the word."
Asmodeus
Highkey freaking out, like, almost as hysterical as Mammon when he hears the news.
Being the Avatar of Lust, he of course knows there's a whole lot of creeps out there in the world and he is utterly terrified that his poor MC has fallen victim to one at that moment.
For once, all thoughts of himself and his looks are out the window. What? It's past 2am and MC is still gone? I can stay up another hour! Dry shampoo and a washcloth counts as a shower, right? Who the fuck cares, where's MC?? Somebody find them already!!
Pools his contact list with Satan's and starts reaching out across the whole Devildom asking for people to be on the lookout and offer tips. Also begs Solomon to use his magic to help in the search (which he's more than happy to do anyway because he cares about the MC too)
If he were to find MC first it'd be one of those rare cases where he'd be seen really truly enraged. No cute banter, no playful flirting, just telling those worthless scum-vats exactly where they belong and exactly how he's going to put them there. Is it any surprise that he's also madsick with a whip?
Crazy relieved that MC is free, but now it's on them to help him clean up and get back to his prettiest self. I mean, he worried himself half to death while they were gone! All this dirt and sweat going to take three, no four, bathes to fully clean off!! Best hop to it~♡
"Touch them one more time and I'm going to set fire to whatever landfill trash like you crawls out of!!"
Beelzebub
It can't be happening. It honestly can't be happening. First he loses Lilith and now MC?? He can't lose two. He. Can't. Lose. Two.
Pretty much the mantra going through his head as he tears the Devildom apart with his bare hands.
It's 1000x worse than how he gets when he's hungry because at least then he might stop when he finally gets fed. Now it's either find MC or wait until he collapses from exhaustion and hope he doesn’t leave the whole realm a smoldering crater before he gets that far.
There's no reasoning with him either, the best the brothers can do is steer him in a direction and let him loose.
If he found MC first he probably wouldn't even realize it for a bit, he'd just keep attacking whatever or whoever is in front of him on his path of blind destruction. It'd take the MC literally flinging themselves at him or throwing their arms around him to snap him out of it but then it's back to sweetheart Beel.
Hugs ensue. Really tight hugs. Probably a few tears and apologies too (even if it’s not really his fault at all).
Woe to anyone who tries going for the MC once he’s sure he has them because they WILL be broken then eaten. He’ll encourage his human not to look, but some things just have to be done.
Would absolutely carry MC back home and refuse to put them down until the others force him to. The floor may as well be lava planning on taking them away from him too.
Wouldn't care as much about personal vengeance as his brothers as long as MC is safe. He'll trust that his family will more than punish the kidnappers (though chances are he already took a chunk or two out of a few of them during his rampage anyway).
Protective instincts up by 100 after this, though Belphie usually steps in and eases him back a bit when he's about to get suffocating. MC never travels without a buddy now, ever. He just can't risk it.
"MC, I-I'm sorry… I just couldn’t lose you too…"
Belphegor
Keeps the coolest head of all the brothers on the outside, but there's a cold fury building up in those eyes.
Pretty much takes charge of whipping everyone back into gear with a combination stinging remarks and heavy duty guilt tripping. May not be the nicest method, but it's effective.
"Asmo, grow a freaking spine and do something useful for a change! Mammon, this your fault to start with so you ought to be breaking your ass to find them! Satan, watching you is getting embarrassing, pull yourself together and think like you're good at it!"
His harshest criticisms get saved for Lucifer (big shock) but he only dishes them out when he sees his older brother really losing his grip or teetering on losing hope. If the “mighty firstborn” can’t keep it together then why should they even listen to him in the first place?
When he's not administering "motivation," he's keeping tabs on Beel's progression through the Devildom and trying to minimize the damage there. He's the only one that can get through to him long enough to change his course if necessary.
If he were to find the MC first, well, unlike Satan he doesn't have the forethought to save the torture for later. It's happening right here, right now, and you better bet that being the last born doesn't stop him from being a force to be reckoned with.
Waits with the MC for his brothers to catch up to them and deal with any stragglers. May cuddle with them and look like he's trying to take a nap in the meantime, but in truth he's still very alert, on edge, and ready to absolutely wreck shit if anything gets too close to them.
Though it doesn't look like his lazy ass goes through the same protective streak as his brothers, he's a lot quicker to try and convince the MC to stay home now. No out and about=less chance of getting nabbed. Plus he keeps his favorite pillow, win-win. 😏
"What about your worthless lives makes you think you deserve my mercy??"

Recipe #114 - Black Bun
From a distance, this kind of looks like a meat pie. It really throws my brain off.
I'm very pleased with how this came out even though it's not the prettiest thing in the world. It feels very medieval, like I could bring it as a snack to a Dungeons and Dragons hangout or something.
I had a terrible time getting ingredients together for this thing. Some of the ingredients are just not accessible where I live so I had to improvise. Also, I made it during fruit cake season so currants and candied peel were tricky (I tried 4 grocery stores one night before giving up). In the end, I'd probably never make this again, but I'm glad I got the opportunity to try something new.
This is a VERY dense cake that leaves you full. Between breakfast and dessert, I would say it works better for breakfast because it's not really sweet and is honestly more like a meal than a treat (rhyme unintended). Following the recipe, the dough came out a lot smaller than I anticipated so I couldn't fill the sides of my cake tin. I saw pictures of black bun online with gaps in the sides, so I just rolled with it.
Recipe:
Here is my source (I converted things to cups/tbsp and used brown sugar instead of muscovado/molasses sugar)
200g plain flour, plus extra for dusting
200g raisins
400g currants
1 tsp ground mixed spice
1 tsp ground ginger
75g dark muscovado sugar
25g molasses sugar
100g chopped mixed peel
½ tsp bicarbonate of soda
1 tbsp brandy or whisky
1 egg, lightly beaten
3 tbsp milk
A generous pinch of freshly ground black pepper
Once again, happy 2022 everyone. Hopefully we'll get a new game announced soon. I get the feeling that Her is doing better lately with lots of big name streamers promoting their games. MID was pretty "meh," but I'm not ready to give up on the franchise just yet.

5, 15, and 21!
5.) Favorite LoZ soundtrack?
Hands down A Link Between Worlds. I have a playlist of nothing but the build up of Hilda's theme during the twist and its just *chefs kiss* Divine. 10/10 best soundtrack out there, thank u Mr. Ryo Nagamatsu for this fucking food !!!! 🍽
15.) Favorite location within Hyrule?
Would you roll your eyes at me if I said the Tabantha Region 👀👀
21.) Prettiest Zelda game?
I haven't played through the whole game, but I really do love how pretty the world of Majora's Mask is. The dungeons have such depth to them, and the atmospheres are phenomenal in story-telling. Especially in the 3DS remake, the details are just so pretty. I wish I could spend more time in certain areas of the game to really take everything in!

Little Kestrel (Part 5)[Birds of Different Feathers Series]
Fandom: Sanders Sides
Relationships: Logan & Patton & Virgil (future Virgil/Patton but not in this story)
Characters:
Main: Logan, Patton, Virgil
Appear: Thomas
Mentioned: Janus
Summary:
It was supposed to be a quick job either way. Either Virgil would assassinate King Thomas of Prijaznia or he’d be caught and get executed. Yet, when Virgil gets the wrong bedroom and gets caught by Prince Logan and his future royal advisor, Patton, the job ends up getting way more complicated for the 14-year-old. He also ends up sleeping in a (actually pretty comfortable) closet for a few weeks…
Notes: Implied/referenced child abuse, assassination attempt, knives, torture mentioned, captivity, teenagers being really dumb
This is a prequel to Kill Dear. I wrote it 100 words at a time on my blog, but this is the edited version. If you want to see how it was crafted, look at the tag proofread stories.
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4
Virgil sat as still as he could in the dark space he’d been put in. He could feel the warning tingle of the binding magic at his wrists telling him not to move too much or else. He was just lucky that they’d chosen to use metal instead of cloth to apply the potion and that he’d been unconscious until it dried. He knew from experience that there was no escaping the pain that type of potion brought until it dried no matter how still you were. Now, at least, if he didn’t try to struggle against his binding it wouldn’t hurt him. It sucked because all he wanted to do was move. He wanted to struggle and pull against the binding at his wrist, but he couldn’t. Even if it wouldn’t put him in crippling amounts of pain, he’d still not be able to get away.
So, instead he just shook. He was such a fuck up. He couldn’t even remember the right room and now he was going to die. No, he was probably going to be tortured and then he was going to die. His breath came quicker and quicker the longer he remained in the closet. He’d tried to murder their king. He’d come into their prince’s bedroom in the middle of the night wielding a knife. There was no way he wasn’t going to be made to suffer for that. It didn’t matter how gently the prince and his… person had treated him so far.
He heard the muffled sounds of people approaching the closet and curled into himself. Oh, god he was going to die. He had been breathing quickly, but now he couldn’t breathe at all. It felt like someone had poured tar into his lungs. The closet door opened, and he flinched, curled into a ball and choking on nothing.
“Hey, hey,” a familiar voice said. Patton, Virgil’s mind offered: the other guy with the prince. When Virgil managed to flick his eyes open, he saw Patton had gotten to his knees in front of him. He dully noted that the boy had reached out and touched his shoulder. “Oh sweetie, I’m sorry. Can you breathe for me?”
What was the point? He wondered, but after a few moments, he managed to suck in a couple of breaths.
When he managed to calm enough to look around, he noticed that instead of there being a bunch of castle guards standing around waiting to drag him off to some dungeon, it was just the prince and Patton again. He blinked up at them in confusion.
“There’s been a change of plans,” the prince explained.
“What?” Virgil asked dumbly. “What do you mean?”
“My father is going to be away for the next three weeks,” the prince said. “Considering you didn’t kill the guards and your only targets seems to be my father and perhaps myself, you are likely not a real danger to anyone if you escape and I’m willing to take the risk with myself. With that in mind, Patton and I have decided not to turn you in yet.”
Well what the hell did that mean? Was that good or bad? On one hand, it meant that he wouldn’t be executed yet, but what exactly did the prince want with him?
As Virgil began to freak out about the possibilities, the prince continued to speak, seemingly more to himself than to Virgil or Patton.
“We will need to figure out how to care for you in the interim. We’ll have to provide you with more food than just snacks as well as find you a place to sleep. At least one of us will have to be with you at all times, and with Father gone, I’ll have to attend to some royal duties. Luckily it isn’t strange for Patton to come into my quarters at will.” He considered Virgil with discerning eyes. “Also, your general health seems to be lacking, so I’ll have to account for preexisting conditions. First thing, first though. I imagine keeping you in those bracelets all the time would be impractical. We’ll need another solution, especially for sleep.”
Virgil did not like the sound of that. He assumed based on what the prince had done so far that he’d enact some sort of magical bondage. From Virgil’s experience, magical bondage ranged from unpleasant to legitimately agonizing.
“Patton, if you will watch him for the time being, I need to go work on a more precise binding potion then the one I’ve been using.”
“Sure,” Patton agreed, but the prince was wondering away before he’d even finished the word. Patton shook his head fondly before turning back to Virgil. “Wanna come out of the closet now?”
He really, really didn’t, but he was pretty sure he didn’t have a choice in the matter. He curled his legs into himself as much as he could and waited to be dragged out into the room, but he wasn’t touched.
“Okay,” Patton said. “That’s fine. It’s a pretty nice closet.” Virgil said nothing but did breathe a sigh of relief about being able to stay. It wasn’t very rational because in actuality he was no safer here than anywhere else in the room, but the closet felt more defensible even if they could drag him out of it whenever they wanted.
Patton seemed content to sit outside the closet and leave him in peace for the moment. A few minutes later Patton made a sound and Virgil looked over to see him yawn. He smiled when he saw Virgil watching. “It was a long night for all of us, I imagine,” he said. “Hmm… actually. Wait there.”
Like he could go anywhere else. He couldn’t get a good enough angle to see what Patton was doing, but he could here him moving around the room and rustling through a few things. He came back into view holding a comical number of pillows and blankets.
“Here,” Patton said. He offered Virgil one of the blankets and then seemed to remember that Virgil could not reach out to take it. “Hmm…” He spread out the blanket next to Virgil. “Do you mind if I touch you?”
“Why are you even asking?” Virgil asked. “You can do whatever you want with me.”
Patton frowned and Virgil scrunched into himself at the expression, but it lightened the next moment. “I know it’s a bit of a bad situation and you are technically a prisoner, but I don’t want to hurt you or make you feel bad,” Patton said.
Virgil didn’t know how to respond to that. There was no way that it wasn’t some sort of trick, but he didn’t dare outright say that he thought that.
“Can I touch you a bit?” Patton asked once again. “Just to help you get onto the blanket.”
“Sure,” Virgil agreed.
The other boy smiled sweetly and grabbed his wrists with gentle fingers. Virgil let his whole body follow Patton’s guidance until he was situated rather comfortably on an unbelievably soft blanket.
“Head,” Patton said, holding up a pillow. Virgil lifted his head slightly and the pillow was shoved underneath it.
Another blanket was settled over him the next. Patton was weird. “There you go!” Patton said. “Now you can take a nap.”
Virgil blinked up at him in confusion. That was… not happening. What exactly about this situation did Patton think was conducive to sleep?
“…Or rest comfortably at least,” Patton said after a moment. He arranged a pillow and blanket for himself and laid on his side, so he was facing Virgil. He yawned slightly again but didn’t close his eyes. They stared at each other for an uncomfortably long moment.
“What are we doing?” Virgil finally asked when he realized Patton was not planning to ever break the awkward silence.
“We’re resting,” Patton said, “and hanging out.”
“Hanging out?” Virgil asked.
“Mmm, yeah,” Patton said popping up onto his elbow to peer at him. “Let’s talk some! We can get to know each other.”
Virgil looked at him suspicious about where this was going. “Talk about what?” he asked, eyes narrowed.
Patton hummed a quiet tune and his fingers tapped against the side of his face as he wiggled a bit back and forth. “Do you like cats?”
“Cats?” Virgil asked. “Uh… sure?”
“I love cats,” Patton divulged. “There are a lot of cats in the castle. Not all of them like people very much, but I like to try to pet them! I even made up a game where I get points for every cat that lets me pet it. The grumpier they are, the more points I get!”
“You… try to pet wild cats?” Virgil asked.
“Uh huh!”
Virgil thought back to the few untamed cats he’d met in his life. “Don’t they… try to murder you.”
“Sometimes,” Patton said with a shrug. He moved his arm suddenly and Virgil startled, but he just rolled down his sleeve so Virgil could see a large, fairly fresh-looking scratch on his arm. “This one’s from Mr. Calico Man. He does not like his ears touched apparently, but he will let me give him chin scratchies!”
This boy was insane.
“I think I’ve pet every single cat in the castle at least once, except for Ghost Kitty.”
“Who is Ghost Kitty?”
“Oh, Ghost Kitty is the prettiest thing in the world,” Patton gushed. “She hangs out in the gardens a lot, but no one can get anywhere near her. She’s completely black and only started showing up around a year ago. I can’t even see her for more than 2 seconds at a time let alone try to pet her, but I will someday and on that day, I’ll get 1,000 points!”
“How many points are they usually?”
“For ones like Mittens and Cleo who I’ve known since they were babies, only 1. For Sandra it’s 5 since she can get a bit tetchy, but usually won’t run away. Lily Flower and Red Hot like to run away but won’t try to scratch me if I do catch them so they’re 10. Ones like Mr. Calico Man are worth 100.”
“So, you are going to try to pet a cat that is 10x more feral than the one that slashed your arm?”
“She’s so pretty!”
“You have no survival instincts whatsoever, do you?” Virgil asked.
Patton smiled wryly at him. “I apparently have a couple,” he said.
Virgil blinked at him and thought back, connecting the dots. Only Patton and the prince knew he was here, and the prince had been in front of him when he’d came into the room… “You were the one to knock me unconscious,” he concluded.
“I’d say sorry, but you were coming in here with the intention of hurting someone I care about,” Patton said with a shrug.
Right. Virgil had almost forgotten amongst his soft tone and gentle countenance that the man laying docilly next to him definitely hated his guts and would probably relish in whatever the prince had planned for him.
Virgil let his fists clench, but otherwise didn’t let onto his distress as Patton softly brought the conversation back to the previous topic and continued to ramble on about the different cats of the castle.

Personal Dark Souls rankings
World Building:
DS1 > DS2 > DS3
Let’s start with an quite obvious one. I agree with many fans that DS3 is more linear, while the other two games allow more exploration.
What gives DS2 the lower place is the fact that sometimes hidden paths are SO WELL hidden that I actually lost orientation at some point. I couldn’t find the next location or simply couldn’t recognize if a place actually was a dead end or not. That way I really was unsure whether I was making any progression in the game or not.
DS1 linked the levels perfectly. At the beginning, I immediately tried out all paths from Firelink Shrine. And I had no problems memorizing the several locked / accessible entrances and where they (might) lead.
Soundtracks:
DS3 > DS1 > DS2
You mainly hear Music played either when you’re in a Boss Battle or at Firelink Shrine / Majula. And while I consider Majula’s Soundtrack better than the Shrines, I can’t say the same about the rest in its game.
Generally you’re too busy focusing on the boss to pay much attention to the Soundtrack. But in DS3 it happened often enough that I still noticed some bosses’ melodies. First it was at the Cryszal Sage battle, where I thought: Man this music is creepy and intense! Then in the Abyss Watchers battle I thought: Holy sh*t the bell and the violins and the voice! Absolutely badass! These are only a few examples of many times I caught myself focusing more on the soundtrack than the Boss. Yes, it cost me many lives, but it’s worth it!
DS1 didn’t have many soundtracks I really noticed. But still, after some boss battles I had an earworm. Right while I’m typing this, I have the Gaping Dragon’s soundtrack in my head.
And DS2... In short: There isn’t a single soundtrack I had really memorized. Majula is the only great exeption.
Level Design:
DS2 > DS1 > DS3
When I think of it, DS2 generally has he biggest world. And due to this size, so many different locations could fit into the game. We have a great underground “labyrinth”, stormy mountains with Dragons flying around, sand pits, giant castles built at the edge of the ocean, simple forests and don’t get me started on Drangelic Castle. I think from all levels in EVERY Dark Souls game, Drangelic castle has to be my favourite... Okay, next to Anor Londo.
All places in DS2 are noticeable and memorable in their very own way and I love that! I could never look my fill when I traveled from one location to the other. Even the Gutter has its own uniqueness. I still hate it.
Now to DS1. It’s lower placed because in my opinion the levels are too bound to the Dark Medieval Fantasy theme. The game mainly consists of Castles, Dungeons, Catacombs, ruins of Castles, evil lairs filled with fire, abandoned Cities, maybe a forest. The only exceptions I can think of right now, are the Crystal Cave and Blighttown. But I think that’s it.
Now to DS3. I don’t dislike the levels at all. I just think they’re... not quite diverse. Just like DS1, we have our ruins, catacombs, castles, forests, etc. But plus to this, another detail makes almost every location similar to each other: Everything is in ruins. Destroyed. Far past its glory. Abandoned. And full of freaking candles. Again, not that I dislike it. But I feel like so many levels follow the same style. Of course there are some exceptions here and there. Sure, it might have something to do with the lore in DS3. But it is as it is.
Bosses:
DS3 > DS1 > DS2
As I mentioned before, what makes bossfights far more enjoyable for me than in the other games, is the soundtrack. That already is a big plus point for DS3. Apart from that I appreciate the variety of the bosses. With that I don’t only mean the species, but also the sizes. From a group of old men up to one gigantic skeleton.
Also I think DS3 has the most cutscenes for its bosses. Altogether I feel like most efforts were put into DS3 bosses than in the other games. And the fights themselves are often enjoyable. I can’t think of much that really frustrated me in the game, except the Curse Rotten Greatwood. But again, there I like that you have a different fight mechanic, where you have to hit specific spots to deal damage. Heck, I even like the fight against the Ancient Wyvern, just because the mechanics are different.
The fights against DS1 bosses was also often fun. Except Bed of Chaos. But here you mainly just have the “beat it until it stops moving” fight. Pretty simple. Not that I complain though, it doesn’t make the fights less enjoyable.
What I like the most about DS1 bosses, are the bosses themselves. With that I mean their character, their design, and most importantly: Their lore. I already knew Sif’s story before I started to play any Dark Souls just because he got so famous. I like how we have our four main bosses introduced in the beginning cutscene. With Gwyndolin you have the chance to freaking challenge a god. In the DLC you get into the role of the fairytales’ noble knight, who saves the land from evil forces, and who slays the big monster to rescue the pretty princess. Also the fight against Artorias is one of the best fights in the entire series.
DS2 also has bosses which I like, simply because of their lore. Especially King Vendrick and the Ivory King. But what gives DS2 the last place, is the lacking diversity in the bosses. Many of them are... well... Dudes in Armors. Of course I think of the exceptions, too. And the fact that DS2 has so many bosses. But to put it simple: The number of good and enjoyable bosses is heavenly balanced with the number of frustrating / less memorable ones.
DLCs
DS2 > DS3 > DS1
As I said before: DS2 has a great level design. And the same goes to its DLCs.
Frozen Eleum Loyce with its clear blue sky and buildings covered in snow is one of the prettiest areas in the series. And I love the idea, where you have the option to search for trapped Knights which will then help you to fight against the final boss. And the bossfight itself is also one of he best in the series. Mainly because of the boss stage itself and the Burnt Ivory King’s epic entrance.
Heck, I even loved the Frigid Outskirts. I can see what it’s so hated by many fans, but I enjoyed the concept of this great field of snow, where you have to navigate trough the storms and defend yourself against demonic thunder horses. The grim Atmosphere is intense. Okay, I didn’t like the bossfight, but that’s actually the only negative point I have.
While the other two DLCs weren’t that much fun and eye-candy, I still couldn’t stop exploring every corner of the maps. Especially the Sunken King DLC. Also the bosses were great, too. Even if I got really frustrated at the fight against Elana, I still liked her character design.
So, in short: The flaws in DS2′s DLCs could be easily overshadowed by all the good aspects.
I actually had to think whether I should put DS3 above DS1 or otherwise. But I decided to rank DS3 higher because of the level design. To be honest, it wasn’t really that much fun to navigate through any DLC maps. The Ringes City looks beautiful though. And I liked that the lore about Gwyn was picked up again. The characters all were great and the fight against Ariandel and Friede was epic in every aspect.
But from all levels in the series, I felt like the DLCs in DS3 are the least obliging. Yes, Dark Souls is known to be hard, I know that. But here it was just frustrating and disheartening. Usually when I die in Dark Souls, I’m thinking: Okay, next time I got this. I need to pay attention to X so I won’t get killed again. I can make it. Challenge accepted. But here I just was glad when I could bring places behind me. I didn’t feel that much of a sense of accomplishment while I fought my way through. It’s definetely the Lore that carried DS3′s DLC to the second place. Also Lorian was mentioned and had a role. Yes, that is important.
The main reason I placed DS1′s DLC last is the location’s design. Mainly it’s just a brighter, dryer version of Darkroot Garden. On the other hand I liked Oolacile and The Abyss. But especially in Oolacile I didn’t have that much fun either. Mainly because of the enemy type you encountered there. What I really liked though, were the bossfights. Okay, the Sanctuary Guardian and Kalameet were very similar to Monster Hunter battles for me. Manus was fun to fight because dodging his attacks felt really rewarding. Plus you had Sif by your side. But Artorias. Dang, he was hard. And Challenging. I died at least 20 times against him. But i didn’t care, just because the fight against him was so fantastic!
As I said, DS3 and DS1 are very close to each other and DS1 could have easily landed on second place, just because of Artorias. You could actually just consider both of them as second.
_________________________________________________
So, for now this will be it. I have no idea if anyone will ever read this list, or even care about my opinion. But I just felt like talking about anything Dark Souls related. Noone in my real life is interested in Dark Souls at all, so I decided to share my thoughts here.
If you want, you can write why you agree or disagree with my views. If you want, you can even ask for other aspects to rank the three games, but it’s totally up to you.
For those who spent their time reading this: Thank you very much for reading. It’s much appreciated!

Ginny x Reader - Cruel
Ginny x reader where she’s mean to you because she has a crush on you
“We had that game in the bag! And then Y/N had to go and muck it up, I ought to give you lessons on how to play!” Ginny grumbled, kicking off her shoes as she hastily changed in the girls’ room, glancing at you as you bit your tongue. She was always saying things that boiled your blood. You weren’t good at this, you had to mess up that.
“Oh come off it, that Malfoy brat caught the snitch, nothing we can do about it Gin,” Katie said in your defense and you shot her a grateful look. You had tried your damnedest and it wasn’t enough for the Weasley.
Scoffing Ginny brushed past you with an unreadable look in her eye and you fell heavy onto the bench in front of your locker. “She hates me,”
“She does not!” Came a chorus of your other teammates, but even they didn’t sound so sure.
“I just wish I knew why...” You sighed, head falling heavy into your hands as Angelina sat beside you, rubbing your back in support.
“Ginny’s never been good about her feelings, having emotionally constipated brothers and all that,” The girl started and you let out a bark of laughter, already feeling much better. “I’m sure she doesn’t hate you, if anything she wants to be friends and just doesn’t know how to ask,”
“Funny way of showing that she wants to be friends,” You grimaced. One of the prettiest girls in school and she thought you were the dirt beneath her shoe. Sad truth was that you two had been friends once, or so you had thought. One day Ginny had just changed. She wasn’t the same girl who once upon a time would greet you with warm hugs and bright smiles. Now she couldn’t stand the sight of you it seemed, always looking away when you tried to catch her attention.
And you did try. You wanted nothing more than Ginny Weasley’s approval, if she couldn’t give you anything else. She was talented, stunning, intelligent and full of a fire that you wished you possessed. She was everything you wished you could be and everything you wanted to have. She was your idol and you her secret admirer.
“I’m sure it will work out,” Angelina promised as she smacked your back, leaving the girls’ locker room as you finished changing.
“Thanks Angie, I’m sure you’re right,” You tried to sound grateful but you just weren’t convinced.
--
“Ha! Bet you couldn’t have messed up that potion even more if you tried, do you need me to help?” Ginny said pointedly as other kids around the classroom laughed, their voices echoing off the dungeon walls as your cheeks burned with embarrassment, and smeared with some goop that had exploded from your cauldron. You wiped at it with your sleeve, frustrated and close to tears.
You stayed silent as you cleaned up your cauldron but you could feel her eyes on you, other students making their own little comments that stung, but not quite as bad as Ginny’s. “10 points from Gryffindor,” Snape added, rubbing salt in your wound as your classmates hollered and groaned, only quieting at the threat of losing more points.
You sniffled as used your dirtied robe to wipe at your eyes, scrubbing your table as class ended. You were the first to bolt out of the door, head low and eyes following your feet as you ran to your dorm. You didnt let the tears escape until you were alone, face buried in your pillow.
--
“I could have done it better,” Ginny chided as you presented a spell in front of everyone, Flitwick asking you for a demonstration. “Maybe I ought to tutor you Y/N,”
The shame weighed heavy on your shoulders again as you wondered what you had done wrong this time. Maybe it was your posture? Maybe the pronunciation. Was that why you didn’t get marks like everyone else? You weren’t much of a witch... Sighing you resigned to being mocked and went back to your seat. You didn’t want to be here, you would much rather be in bed right now or better than that back, back home where you didn’t have to deal with Ginny.
“Professor, I’m not feeling so well, can I please go to the hospital wing?” You called out, voice weak and stomach churning as everyone’s eyes went to you. They were probably thinking about how stupid you looked.
Flitwick searched your eyes, a deep frown etched into his features as he nodded from his place at the front of the class. “Of course miss Y/L/N, but please visit me once you’re feeling better,” You barely gave your professor an answer before you were dashing out of his classroom, books held tightly under your arm as you tried to take a deep breath.
You felt so stupid. You shouldn’t let her get to you, you shouldn’t be leaving class, if you left class people would think you were stupid, nobody would like you, nobody liked you. Your thoughts were taking over your mental blocks of positivity and smashing your roadblocks of reasoning. You couldn’t help but feel miserable.
Instead of going to the hospital wing, you went to your bedroom and wept.
--
“Miss Weasley, I would like to speak with you for a moment,” Flitwick asked the redheaded girl as she started to follow her friends out of the classroom. There were several “oohs” and “youre in trouble” as she hung back, confused as to what her professor could possibly need.
“Anything wrong professor?” Ginny asked softly, eyebrow quirked up in curiosity.
“That’s what I would like to ask. You are friends with Y/N, yes?” He asked and Ginny nodded slowly, apprehensive. “I’ve noticed that recently she has been...lacking in her school work. I fear that she is not doing well and I wanted to ask if you knew if something was wrong,”
“O-oh,” Ginny startled. “I didn’t know anything was wrong, I’m sorry professor, I just don’t know. Truth is, we don’t talk much, maybe you’re better suited asking her,” she suggested, feeling at a loss. What could possibly be wrong?
Ginny watched you the next couple of days, eyes sharp as a tack and mouth sewn shut. You were sad, she realized. Your eyes were red and dark bags stood out against your usually bright complexion. Your hair was limp and you picked at your food, never really committed to eating a full meal. In quidditch practice you were withdrawn, Angelina watching you with worry as you got lost in your mind, dazed. In class you were silent, doing everything perfect, you were measured and focused, not allowing yourself to make even one mistake, your shoulders tense.
Ginny found the only thing you truly reacted to was her voice. When she barked a command, wanting you to switch your position to practice another play, you flinched. When she offered some help in class, you went impossibly quiet, voice mousy as you turned her down. When had you become a shell of your former self?
“Hey,” Ginny called out, catching her two friends before they could go to their next class. “What’s wrong with Y/N? Flitwick was asking,”
Katie glanced at Angelina, nervous. “I’m sure she is just tired-” Katie started while Angelina deadpanned, “It’s your fault,”
Ginny’s eyes snapped to Angelina, confused. “What do you mean?”
--
You were shuffling to the library, knowing you needed to see Flitwick but too exhausted to speak with him yet. He seemed understanding, he saw you in class and followed you with worried eyes but he never pushed for you to speak to him. You would when you felt better, that’s what he had asked after all.
It was late and the pictures on the wall waved at you, not scolding you for having your wand out, lumos bright and glaring in the empty hallway. They had come to expect you sneaking in past acceptable hours. Madam Pince and you had struck up a small deal after she realized you were in a delicate state.
You needed an escape and time to do homework and she had the library locked up tight where no students could bully you.
“Good day to you,” A gentleman in one painting spoke, tipping his hat towards you and you smiled. You had found friends in the paintings, the only ones who didn’t judge you.
You knew you had Angie and Katie and even Fred and George but Ginny was a superstar, you would never be as important as she was. “And to you,” You smiled but it dropped when you heard rushed footsteps. You had permission to be out, but you feared if it was Snape he would subtract points from your house for not getting to the library quickly enough, making your housemates dislike you more. You sped up but found you couldn’t keep up, a hand clamping around your upper arm as you yelped in surprise.
“It’s just me! Just me!” Ginny repeated as you tried to catch your breath, scared out of your wits, but you found that you couldn’t catch a proper breath with the girl in front of you around. Someone you had once longed to be beside you now dreaded to see.
“Gin, what are you doing?” You asked, shrugging your arm out of her grip as you became defensive.
“I wanted to talk,” She said easily.
“About what? I’m sorry but I’ve really got to go,” You apologized halfheartedly, letting your feet carry you towards the library but you were stopped again by the most persistent Weasley.
“About you,” She said and you immediately shrunk in on yourself.
“I don’t want any trouble Ginny, please,” You said softly this time, eyes begging with her to leave you alone.
Ginny was speechless for a moment. You looked scared. Like she would bite your head off any moment. She had never meant for this to happen... “No, no, Y/N, I don’t want trouble either. I-I talked to Flitwick, he was worried about you. He asked if I knew what was wrong and I didn’t have a clue. I went to talk to Angie and she told me, well she told me I was the reason. I didn’t know I was making you feel so awful, I’m so sorry. I really like you, more than a friend, I freak out every time I’m around you and I mess up. I never meant to hurt you” Her voice was like a song and her words were earnest but it was a bitter taste in your mouth.
“If you truly liked me the way you say you do you would have never said those things in the first place,” You couldn’t help but feel angry. Ginny was everything to you and she had ripped you to shreds, filled your head with self doubt and drop kicked you to your lowest low, all because she had a crush?
“Y/N, I didn’t mean it... I like you a lot, please let me fix this?” She looked dejected and you wondered when the last time was that someone had turned down the wonderful Ginny Weasley. You found yourself wanting to apologize to her, to tell her of course you would let her fix this but you were hurt.
“I’m sorry Gin... I forgive you but I can’t forget how you made me feel. I’ve been going crazy for weeks trying to understand what I did to make you want to make me feel so miserable. I don’t think it would be good for me to be around you right now, I want to be friends and maybe one day I’ll feel the same way I used to but you were cruel Ginny, there is no other word for it.
“But I-”
“Thank you for apologizing, really, thank you” You interrupted, smiling at her gently. “You are a good person Gin, I know that. But I need time to learn how to love myself again even when others dont, that’s all I’m asking for,”
The girl finally nodded, stomach tied in knots. “So if I ask you on a date next Saturday?”
You looked at her in shock but laughed at her persistence, her scared look morphing into a proud smile. “A little too soon, but keep trying,” You encouraged, knowing you didn’t want her out of your life for long.
“If that’s what you want, I won’t stop,” She promised and you blushed, hanging your head low in embarrassment. Even when you were trying to be upset with her she was cute.
“Goodnight Ginny,” You settled on, still needing to study.
“Goodnight Y/N, I’m sorry,” She said one more time, as much for herself as it was for you.
Ginny didn’t sleep that night, thinking long and hard. No matter how long she had to wait she would make it up to you, she had never intended to drag you to such a bad and negative space. Even if you couldn’t return her feelings she would put a smile back on your face.

A Little Insight
|Ko-fi | Gumroad | Twitter|
Morning y’all. I was informed recently that this space is now a year old. Which is trippy, to be honest. Didn’t think I’d been doing this for that long. But, that’s not the point of this.
The other day, I was thinking that y’all don’t really know much about me and I thought I’d remedy that a little. At least in a professional capacity anyway. So I’m gonna talk a little about why I make maps the way I make them!
As I’m sure y’all have noticed, my maps aren’t stereotypical dungeon or city maps. They don’t have a lot of the filigree and fine detail work that you might see in a D&D official map or something like that. There’s actually two good reasons for that!
So, the first reason: I have stimulation issues. Too much information, visually or aurally overwhelms me and makes it difficult for me to think. One of my players has similar issues, and at least one of my players also has ADHD. What all that boils down to is that, when we sit down and look at one of those gorgeous official maps, we can’t actually use it. Two of us can’t figure out where anything is or parse the information there and one of us gets distracted by how much stuff there is. Those maps are very, very beautiful and very cool, don’t get me wrong. I’m not out here knocking any of the incredible work done. But for a group with stim and attention issues, there’s too much there. So I simplified my maps. I do my best to make them informative but not overwhelming.
Reason number the second: I don’t know if y’all have sat down and actually looked at some of the official maps out there for games but some of them aren’t what I’d personally consider very usable. There’s a map for a dungeon in Tales from the Yawning Portal I remember specifically. It’s a sort of mage/teleportation dungeon and I absolutely could not run it because, as the DM, I couldn’t figure out where anything was! And that’s not even the stim issues; I literally could not find the numbers that marked the rooms. Not only that, but the way I run my games usually means that I have to change up the official maps anyway, in one way or another. Which, it turns out, is shockingly difficult to do with something that intricate. So I try to make my maps as usable and adjustable as possible. I don’t know what tokens you’ll need or what your exact goals will be, but I will do my best to create something that you can fit to your needs. It may not be the prettiest or the most intricate, but it’ll be a hell of a lot easier to use (I hope).
So yeah, there you have it. That’s basically it. I ended up having a lot of issues with the official maps that got released and this is my way of resolving those for myself and my players and I hope you as well.
If you’d like to help me keep doing that, check out my ko-fi and gumroad and consider tipping a couple bucks while you’re there. Plus, Project Constantine is still available!
