For Edling Week 2022. Day 7: Fanwork of fanwork | AU | Crossover | Headcanon | Free

Sort of mixing two prompts together with a Miraculous Ladybug AU, because why not. Artwork instead of a one-shot fic this time.

Some further thoughts for this AU below the cut:

I'm not the best at coming up with original names so I'll go the easy route and have them be Fullmetal Bug and Hēi Māo (is that correct? I don't speak Chinese, I had to look it up. Feel free to correct me).

The ladybug yoyo is actually attached to Ed's metal hand.

Also, as a civilian, his prosthetics look different.

Regarding their superhero suit designs, I tried to base them off slightly their main canon outfits because obviously I'm very original. So, Hēi Māo keeps the loose pants and the strips around his forearms, while Fullmetal Bug keeps the iconic red coat (except on the back it's got a ladybug symbol instead of the Flamel).

It's set in modern-day Amestris.

They're trying to get the Peacock miraculous back from a creepy-as-fuck guy that calls himself Father as his villain name.

Unlike in the show though, instead of akumatising random civilians who are having a bad day, he always sends one of the same six minions to every attack (Pride, Lust, Envy, Gluttony, Sloth, and Wrath; although luckily, only one at a time. For the first season at least).

It's reverse lovesquare! Fullmetal Bug has a crush on Hēi Māo while Ling has a crush on Edward. I just think it fits better that way.

Ling is still a royal (though Xing is a constitutional monarchy so he doesn't give that much of a shit about it) and he's actually an exchange student for a year. So his superhero persona is on a time limit to defeat Father.

Ed and Al live with Izumi and Sig.

And Ed is trans because he’s always implicitly trans in all of my fanworks even when it’s not mentioned.

Hohenheim gave them the miraculouses (in secret, like in ML canon). He was planning on giving Alphonse the Black Cat but some unspecified stuff happened, Ling ended up with it instead and he turned out to be a great fit.

Speaking of Al. When at some point Ed finds out that Hohenheim gave him the miraculous (and after the angry shouting, a punch to the face, etc), he gets to choose temporary miraculous holders—his first choice is obviously his brother. He gives him the Dog miraculous because Al is a cat person and he thinks it's funny.

Winry figures out both of their identities after a couple of months. She thinks the whole situation is pretty hilarious so she doesn't say shit to either of them.

Lan Fan always knew. She's the only one seemingly unaffected by the ML face blindness. She didn't say anything because she simply understood that it had to be a secret.

The Mustang Unit are police detectives and, unlike ML canon, are actually, actively trying to find out Father's identity and arrest him.

They collaborate with the superheros, but also it's a bit of a gray area since 1) technically Fullmetal and Hēi Māo are fighting outside of the law and 2) they're very obviously teenagers. So to work around this, the Central Police Department has Mustang keep and eye on them so that they don't do anything more illegal than what it's been agreed they need to do to defeat the akumas.

(Mustang doesn’t really care though. He mostly just ribs them from time to time. Hawkeye and the rest of the team keep tabs on them to make sure that they’re doing alright and to offer them an adult ear to talk to about their troubles if they need it.)

Later on Greed appears on the scene (OG Greed, with the Devil's Nest gang, although they're not chimeras here). He basically becomes Fullmetal and Hēi Māo's trump-card since he also wants to see his dad go down.

izumi not knowing anything about zuko and sokka’s relationship when they were teenagers is so funny to me. she doesn’t even know zuko is gay because why would he tell her, she’s never brought it up. she thinks the relationship between her dad and fave uncle is just really close, the lingering touches and looks are just a friendship thing. she keeps trying to set him up with aunt mai because she learned about their relationship when they were teens. she sees mai, ty lee, and suki together and she’s like “omg can’t wait to be that close with my girlfriends one day” and has no idea she’s surrounded by gay people left and right

文法：〜させる（使役形・Causative Tense）

The causative tense mainly describes two types of situations:

1) When someone makes someone else do something. This can be through instructions (like from a parent to child, or teacher to student), persuasion, or even force.

母は私にケーキを食べさせました。 My mother made me eat cake (even though I didn’t want to).

2) When someone lets someone else do something, either by giving them permission or by remaining hands-off and not interfering.

母は私にケーキを食べさせました。 My mother let me eat cake (for my birthday! Isn’t she the world’s best mom?).

For the most part you have to rely on context or common sense to help you distinguish between the two.

寝させろよ!!! LET ME SLEEP!!!

You can think of the sentence form as a stereotypical child/parent relationship, where the "parent" allows or makes the "child" do certain actions. Of course both could be omitted from the sentence, but even so it’s best to keep this structure in mind:

"Parent" は・が　"Child" に・を　(Causative verb) "Parent" makes/lets "Child" do ~

The "Child" most commonly takes に, but it may take を instead if 1) the child unconsciously or unwillingly performs the action; 2) the child is actually a thing with no will of its own; or 3) if you are using another に particle somewhere in the sentence. Similarly if the verb is transitive and を is being used for another object, you should use に. (*)

- よし　やってみよう - よつばがやる！よつばにやらせて！ - All right, let's give it a try. - Yotsuba will try! Let Yotsuba try!

Causative Tense Conjugation (Standard)

る verbs: Replace the る with させる

食べる　→　食べさせる

う verbs: Replace the -u sound with -aせる

買う　→　買わせる　　読む　→　読ませる行く　→　行かせる　　急ぐ　→　急がせる立つ　→　立たせる　　死ぬ　→　死なせる帰る　→　帰らせる　　遊ぶ　→　遊ばせる話す　→　話させる

Irregular verbs:

する　→　させる来る　→　こさせる

Once in the causative tense, these verbs all conjugate as regular る verbs.

Slang Variations

There are several variations on the standard conjugation patterns.

1) Shortened Conjugation

る verbs: Replace the る with さす

食べる　→　食べさす

う verbs: Replace the -u sound with -aす

買う　→　買わす読む　→　読ます　…

Irregular verbs:

する　→　さす来る　→　こさす

This form is much rarer than the original form, and may be seen in dialects like Kansai-ben. It is slang, but there are some words that have made it into standard Japanese: 泳がす (to make ~ swim), 沸かす (to boil ~), and 寝かす (to put ~ to sleep). (*)

2) さ入れ言葉

Unlike shortened conjugation, this conjugation is actually nonstandard and would be marked incorrect. But much like ら抜き is growing more common with potential verbs, many young people especially may incorrectly* add an extra さ into their conjugation of う verbs like so:

買う　→　買わさせる読む　→　読まさせる

While it may not be in your best interest as a language learner to use さ入れ言葉, you may hear or see it used so it’s best to be aware of its existence. (*)

(*according to textbooks, but language is a constantly evolving creature so who are we to judge!)

Causative て＋ Give/Receive Verbs

Combining the Causative tense in the て form with give/receive verbs is one easy clue that the causative is being used with the meaning of “Let” rather than “Make.” The speaker's role in the sentence is usually set as either the subject or the receiver by the very nature of give/receive verbs, so you’re not going to find too many counterexamples. (*) Here’s a breakdown of some combinations:

・　Causer が（私 - Doer に）〜させてくれる　　（⇑Honorific: 〜させてくださる） You are being allowed to do something, and this carries the sense that you’re grateful. A negative question would be used to ask permission. 　　　　〜させてくれない？　　　　〜させてくれませんか？(Can’t I ...?) 　　　　〜させてください。(Please let me …)

・（私 - Causer が）Doer に〜させてあげる　　（⇓Casual: 〜させてやる） You allow someone to do something. やる makes the expression rougher, and is used mostly by men. 　　　　〜させてあげようか？(Just this once, I'll let you ...) 　　　　〜ないと...させてあげないよ　　　　(If you don't ~, I won't let you ...)

・（私 - Doer が）Causer に〜させてもらう　　（⇑Honorific: 〜させていただく） Very similar to させてくれる, and describes an action you are allowed to do. However, note that the particles will be reversed since it is changed to “receiving!” It can also be used to ask for permission. 　　　　〜させてもらえない？(May I …?) 　　　　〜させていただけませんか？(May I …?) 　　　　〜させていただきます。(Allow me to…) 　　　　〜させていただいてありがとうございました。　　　　　(Thank you for allowing me to … )

- それいぬ!? - なでさせてもらうか？ - …いい - That's a DOG?! - Shall we ask to pet it? - ...No, that's ok.

Because of the particle switch, させてもらう・いただく actually translates more naturally into the passive tense in English, since the focus of the sentence has been reversed to focus on the one who is being made to do something. While we can get around that dissonance by translating it as a request like "Please allow me to...", sometimes it can't really be helped. In the following example, in Nozaki's conversation with his new editor, the editor explains that he's already familiar with his work, so requesting permission would be unnatural--he's already read it. While Nozaki, who is wary of a new editor and startled by the news hasn't explicitly granted him that permission, the editor uses the causative voice with 頂く to emphasize his gratefulness:

Causative ＋　てしまう

While allowing and forcing are the two main uses of the causative form, there is one other usage: the responsibility usage, often indicated by its combination with the てしまう (to regretfully allow something to happen) grammar. This version expresses the guilt of the subject (who is usually the speaker, but not always) in not being able to stop a sequence of events from happening.(*) They let this happen, and it's all their fault.

おれが気づかなかったせいで59人も死なせてしまった I let so many people die--fifty-nine people--all because I didn't notice.

I realised recently that I never actually collated all the ideas I had about my Zutara kids so here, have some steambabies! Idk I just really like the idea of Katara and Zuko having a big family after all they’ve lost when they were young, and as an only child, I guess I kind of romanticise the idea of having siblings.

TW: I hc that Katara would have had a miscarriage, so if that is a trigger for you then maybe don’t read on.

Their firstborn is a boy who they name Kai after Kya. His full name is Kaito but nobody who knows him ever calls him that, not even when he’s in trouble. I’m not going to go into too much context about like the pregnancy bc you can already find that stuff here. He turns out very much like Zuko physically - tall, golden irises, straight black hair, narrow angular face - but he has mixed tawny skin and his eyes are shaped round and wide like Katara. He’s born on the last day of summer in 109 AG, so because of superstition that firebenders are born in peak summer, there’s some uncertainty about what he’ll bend - if at all - but then when he’s three and a half, he makes a flame. Iroh trains him to firebend until he’s about 16, then he goes off to the Sun Warriors for a year to finish off, and he ends up a very spiritual firebender. Kai is like the dream first child - the softest boy ever to live - and when Katara and Zuko go on to have more children, he’s a really great big brother, like wholeheartedly adores his little sibs even if they drive him completely nuts about 95% of the time. He’s quite a conflicted and confused kid growing up. He’s never quite sure of what he wants in life but finally, when he’s 17, he decides that he realises that he doesn’t want to be Fire Lord and passes along the heir status to his sister. After that he joins the Sun Warriors and eventually marries the chief’s daughter, Himari, and they have two firebender girls, Aiko and Sol.

Izumi arrives not long after her brother in 110 AG. Katara and Zuko planned to wait but it ends up that there’s barely a year between Kai and Izumi and it comes as an extra shock as Katara didn’t figure out she was pregnant again till like 18 weeks in. Katara goes into labour early at 35 weeks and Izumi is born really small - she never completely catches up either and it’s hilarious because after successive generations of tall male Fire Lords, they get Izumi who’s barely 5 feet - but she’s otherwise fine. She’s physically a mish-mash so overall she resembles nobody especially - Katara’s hair, complexion and big round eyes, Zuko’s irises, Azula’s heart-shaped face and highly arched brow line, Hakoda’s facial features. The superstition about summer births for firebenders peters out real quick when Izumi, born in the autumn, bends blue fire at two and a half and, taught by Jeong Jeong, she grows into a prodigal master. When she’s young, Izumi is the polar opposite of her brother - feisty, stubborn, determined and whip smart - and she’s a heathen teenager but by about 15 she mellows and matures, and part of Kai’s reasoning for abdicating is that Izumi seems a better fit for Fire Lord. Izumi was always kinda apathetic to kids but at 19, she accidentally gets pregnant and has her son, Kazuo, then her daughter, Kira, eleven years later. Izumi becomes Fire Lord at 37 but she only rules for about 14 years before retiring. Since she had Kaz so young, if she stayed on the throne much longer, Kaz would also be an older man when it came time for him to inherit, so she decides to step aside and Kaz is coronated just after his 33rd birthday.

After a break, Katara and Zuko decide to try for a third addition and Katara gives birth - in the Southern Water Tribe, for the first time - to Bashira, four years after Izumi. Shira looks probably the most like Zuko out of all the children, even more than her elder brother does. They share the same tall and lean physique, the same long black hair, Shira is mixed but still the palest of all the steambabies and their faces are practically identical. They’re characteristically very similar, too - serious, intense and reserved. The only differences is that her hair is curly, her eyes are blue and finally, Katara gets her waterbending child. Both of them suspected that Shira was going to be a waterbender even at the early stages of the pregnancy, but it’s still super exciting when Shira tosses a wave at her elder siblings when she’s two. Katara is teaching her as soon as she possibly can but over time some tension develops between them when Shira turns out to be quite different from her mom in terms of natural bending style. Shira is very fight-oriented, she learns dao swords from Zuko and never shows as much of an interest in the healing arts, but when things blow up and eventually Shira is able to explain that she wants to be able fight like her mom did during the war, things straighten out and Katara guides Shira all the way through to mastery. She eventually moves to the South in her late teens to lead the tribe’s warriors. There, she has three children - waterbender twins Kenzo and Kenji, then a daughter named Kanna who’s a firebender like Grandpa - but the marriage to their father doesn’t last and in her 50s, she ends up in a relationship with Aang and Toph’s daughter, Lin.

Katara gets pregnant for a fourth time - planned - just after Shira turns two, but this time she has a miscarriage. Zuko was overseas when it happened so she went through it alone. Katara is devastated and resents Zuko for not being there. She knows it’s not his fault but she can’t help her emotions and that makes her feel even worse so she just shuts down - stops doing her Fire Lady work, stops spending any more time with Zuko and their children than necessary, won’t let the rest of the family visit them and spends most of the day lying in bed. Zuko doesn’t know how to help her so initially he decides to give her space to grieve however she feels she needs to, but it just deteriorates until one day Zuko suggests that maybe they should both go to therapy or marriage counselling or something because it can’t go on like this. Katara just completely loses it at that and ends up yelling at him all the things that she’d been bottling up over the last couple of months. Katara says some awful things and she’s expecting Zuko to take it poorly, hence why she kept it all inside up till now, but Zuko just accepts every bit of it and after that, she’s finally able to grieve properly and mend.

About six months after they come back together, they decide to try again and Katara eventually falls pregnant. The pregnancy itself goes smoothly but both of them are so stressed about something going wrong like last time and the effect that might have on both of them, then Gran Gran passes away when Katara is in her thirtieth week, so the full ten months were incredibly hard-going.

It’s a big relief when the baby is finally born on Ember Island, three years after Shira in 117 AG. They name her Lili in honour of their recent losses, since lilies can ease scars and Iroh once referred to them as lights in darkness. From the beginning, Lili is the image of Katara in every way physically and characteristically - kind, patient, gentle, but does have quite a temper if she’s pushed too far. She’s also a waterbender, though it takes her a little longer to manifest her abilities than any of her siblings, first gaining control of the water at the age of six. Lili is incredibly endearing, as both a child and an adult, and she becomes so particularly popular with the Fire Nation public that the firebending qualification to be considered an heir to the throne is reversed, so Shira and Lili are inducted into the succession. Born in the same year, Lili had a long-term relationship with Tenzin, Aang and Toph’s thirdborn, but as they grew older, Tenzin was concerned that if he married her, their children would have heritage of all four elements and degrade the chances of Tenzin producing airbenders and continuing the Air Nation. That concern resulted in a kind of on-again-off-again thing but eventually Lili sent him off with an "I don’t want to be with someone that isn’t even sure he wants me" and went travelling the world for a few years. When they’re both in their thirties though, Lili and Tenzin reconnect and get back together, eventually marrying and producing five children - Jinora, Aya, Hiro, Rohan and Kano, the elder four airbenders and the youngest a waterbender.

A few months after Lili is born, Sokka and Suki have a baby girl and when Katara and Zuko go to visit their new niece, they agree that night on a spur-of-the-moment that they want one more child. The morning after, they talk about it properly and decide it’d be better to wait till Lili was a bit older, but Katara found out six weeks later that that one time had been successful. About halfway through, they find out that they’re expecting a boy and Katara is especially excited since their son had always been more closely attached to her whereas their girls were very firmly Daddy’s girls. Sure enough, when Kallik arrives in 118 AG, he’s a big Mama’s boy and remains so his entire life. Apart from his curly black hair, Kallik is the spitting image of his uncle, to the point that Hakoda says that seeing Lili and Kallik together is like seeing young Katara and Sokka. Kallik is the hardest to handle out of their children - loud, playful, mischievous and an exhausting troublemaker. All of the siblings fight like cat and dog but Kallik and Izumi are by far the worst, on the level of one walks into a room and the other is like “And I took that personally” and they never seem to grow out of it even when they’re both old and grey. Kallik is the only nonbender in the family and initially he struggles with this a bit but he spends a lot of time hanging out with Uncle Sokka, learns dao swords with Shira and Zuko, and by the time he hits his teens, he comes to view it more as something that sets him apart from his siblings. When he’s 18, he goes to join the United Forces and he stays in service till his late thirties, when he meets Ren, another serviceman from the Northern Water Tribe. After beginning a relationship with him, the pair settle in Republic City and end up adopting two daughters, Kirima and Alasie.

About a decade after Kallik is born, it seems like things are kind of slowly drawing to a close as the kids are getting older - Kai is 19 and has left home, Izumi is 18 and living away in Republic City while she studies at university, Shira is 14 and already talking about moving South the first chance she gets, Lili is 11 and wanting to go Northern Water Tribe to train with the healers there, and Kallik is 10 and dreaming of being a great military commander like Grandpa Koda and Uncle Sokka - when suddenly Katara starts to get really, really sick. Zuko is absolutely terrified, thinking that there’s something seriously wrong with his wife, but after some deduction, it turns out that Katara is actually pregnant again. The relief at realising she’s not dying is short-lived and the reaction from both of them is basically holy shit holy fuck we are too old for this our other kids are practically all grown up now we are done with babies we can't seriously have six children what are we going to do. There’s a lot of discussion, especially since Katara is 43 by then and the risks for her to be carrying another child are higher, but they ultimately decide to go through with it. Ironically, it’s the easiest of all her pregnancies and when Katara delivers a baby girl in Republic City in 128 AG, there hadn’t been a single complication to speak of. Iroh had passed away two years earlier, devastating the whole family but Zuko in particular, but the baby is born with his irises - a darker gold - so they name her Ilah. Her eyes are big and round like Katara’s but other than that, Ilah resembles her Grandma Ursa most strongly, with her thick chestnut-coloured hair and slight, delicate facial features. Naturally, Katara and Zuko think all their babies were the cutest baby but Ilah is probably objectively the cutest, with her big honey-coloured eyes, chubby cheeks and soft little curls.

Inevitably, since Kai, Shira, Lili and Kallik had all either left home before she was born or did so when she was still a little girl, Ilah gets a lot more concentrated attention from Katara and Zuko. She’s completely spoiled and doted upon by the whole family, including her elder brothers and sisters who visit her as often as they can manage. Since Izumi still lives in the palace permanently as the Crown Princess, she and Ilah are close, but Ilah ultimately ends up being closest with Izumi’s son, Kaz, who is only a year younger than his aunt. Ilah was even in the room when Kaz was born, though it wasn't an intentional move. Zuko was supposed to be watching Ilah when things got intense with Izumi’s labour but things escalated from 0-100 real fast and Katara didn't have time to hand Ilah off, so she stayed tucked in a sling on her mother’s back as Katara helped her eldest daughter to deliver her own baby, somehow sleeping through all the noise and commotion. Ilah and Kaz end up more like a brother and sister or best friends than an aunt and nephew, though Kaz always calls her Auntie Ilah when he’s teasing her. Ilah is perhaps the shyest around strangers of her siblings, uninterested in celebrity and attention, but she’s the most adventurous, determined and creative, interested in science and invention from an early age. Growing up, Ilah felt a little pressured by the renown of her family, especially when her firebending turned out to be just about average in power, but when she’s 12, Ilah figures out that she can combustionbend. From there, she applies her bending abilities to science and when she leaves home for university, she invents the combustion engine at age 20. The rest of her adult life is spent travelling virtually non-stop, working on innovation projects for the different nations. She never has children, on the account that it would be unfair to expect a kid to move around as much as she does and she’s happy enough with her numerous nieces and nephews, but she eventually marries her long-time girlfriend Li-Mei, an Air Nomad tasked with searching the world for new airbenders.

A3! Rurikawa Yuki - Translation [N] The Floral Prince

Yuki: The prince of the Flower Country’s adventure and search for a bride, huh?

Izumi: It seems like it’s going to be a play with Summer troupe’s usual comedic aspects, but with a fairy-tale feeling.

Tenma: The characters are the main character Florence, the Floral Prince, his retainer Broto, the mysterious hunter boy Rose—. And also the Star Prince, Moon Prince and Sun Prince, right?

Kazunari: Prince Florence of the Flower Country is on his way to meet the princess of the East Country who’s rumoured to be an unrivaled beauty—. But not just Prince Florence, the princes of the other countries are also asking for the princess’s hand in marriage!

Misumi: The princess is really popular~!

Muku: But it seems the princess would be troubled if lots of people tried to court her all at once like in the story this time…

Kumon: Ummm, I guess you’d have to do a super cool proposal to beat the other princes and get the princess to choose you?

Kazunari: Ah! I have a good idea! Connected to role-making, how about we each try figuring out what kind of proposal we’d do if it were up to us!?

Tenma: A proposal!?

Kumon: Uwahh, that sounds super fun! I wanna do it, wanna do it!

Yuki: You’re a retainer, not a prince, you know?

Kazunari: It’s fiiine, it’s fiiine! Since we have the chance, do it with us, Kumopi!

Tenma: Actually, I’m kind of getting déjà vu with this flow of events…

Izumi: Ah, come to think of it, you’ve done something similar to this before, right?

Muku: Really?

Tenma: You know, Kazunari brought up the idea of doing a photoshoot for a tuxedo pamphlet at a chapel.*

Kazunari: Ahh! The members in that shoot also appeared as extras in the drama Tenten was starring in, right!

Tenma: Back then, Arisu-san said, “let’s try putting on proposal etudes in anticipation for when we play grooms on stage one day”—. So then everyone who was there acted out an etude.

Misumi: Yeah, yeah, how nostalgic~!

Kumon: Heh~! So that happened, huh!

Izumi: The proposal etudes you two did were really wonderful.

Muku: Wahh… That sounds lovely!

Tenma: In a way, this is a chance for us to make use of that experience doing those etudes just like Arisu-san said… isn’t it?

Yuki: By the way, am I doing this too? Just like Kumon, I don’t play a prince either, so.

Kazunari: Oh, then Yukki’ll try coming up with a reverse proposal or something!

Yuki: That sounds hard though.

Izumi: But you also have a scene where you play the princess in the second half of the story, so I think it’ll be helpful for role study.

Yuki: Well, that’s true I guess.

Kazunari: Alriiight, then everyone come up with a proper proposal by next rehearsal, ‘kay! It’s your homework!

-pause-

Azuma: I tried this face mask and it really moisturized my skin.

Azami: Heh… It’s that brand’s new product, huh?

Yuki: …

Azami: Yuki-san, what’s wrong?

Yuki: Ah, my bad. I was thinking about the homework Kazunari gave us.

Azuma: Homework?

Yuki: Yeah. For our role study, we’re supposed to come up with an ideal proposal plan. I play the princess, so mine’s a reverse proposal.

Azami: P-proposal!? Stuff like that’s still too early for us, ya know!

Yuki: Yeah, yeah, I made a mistake talking to you.

Azuma: Fufu, Azami sure is cute. But a reverse proposal, hm… It’s not like a typical proposal so it’s difficult.

Yuki: Exactly…

Taichi: Hah… this is hella nice…!

Azuma: What are you talking about, puppy-kun?

Taichi: They’re songs from an album that a friend lent me today! One of them is a love song that was popular a little while back. And I’m super into it now, see~.

Azuma: Heh, a love song?

Taichi: I heard girls really relate to the lyrics of this song! Do you wanna have a listen too, A-chan?

Azami: I-I don’t really…

Yuki: Relate, huh… …Hey, will you let me listen to that song for a bit?

Kazunari: Alright, let’s get our proposal unveiling party started right away!

Misumi: Wah~!

Kumon: Who will start us off!?

Yuki: …Then I’ll go first.

Kazunari: Ohh~! Yukki’s reverse proposal’s the leadoff batter! Good luck piko!

Yuki: …Ahem. “I’m… really glad that I was able to meet you. I want to keep walking with you from now on as well.” “…Hey, will you marry me?”

Tenma: …

Muku: How wonderful…!

Izumi: The mood is really great…!

Kazunari: There’s no one who would refuse that, right!

Yuki: “By the way…” “Since you’re going to marry me, improve your sense and always give me lots of gifts that I’ll enjoy.” “We’ll divide the housework, but take a little more than me, ok? Also… I want to go on a trip 3 times a year.”

Tenma: …

Izumi: This is turning kind of…

Yuki: “Of course you’ll keep me company shopping, carry my bags, and take me out for lunch and dinner too.” “You’ll learn how to cook tasty food and make home-made meals for me. You’ll pick me up on rainy days. And also—”

Kumon: EHH!?

Misumi: There’s tons of requests~!

Kazunari: Yukki did a sudden 180!?

Yuki: I referenced a song the dumb dog told me about. It seems like girls can relate to this. So this kind of reverse proposal is possible too, right?

Okay so let's talk about female Izuku. When most people name her they only change the ending of her name; like Izuki or Izumi. This isn't anything new. Most fandoms do this when they do a genderbend on the main character. But when it comes to Izuku you're missing the main point of his name.

He is the ninth holder of one for all and that is shown in his name. That should translate to a girl version of him.

There are plenty of girl names with the kanji 久. For example, Hisa, Hisayo, Kikumi, Kikuyu, Meguro, Raku, or Saku. Some of these names don't have the same pronunciation that would make it homophonous to nine in Japanese, but this is just to show there are more options out there.

I understand having the Izu in the name makes it easier for the readers to connect the female Izuku to the male Izuku, but that shouldn't be why. You are creating a whole new Izuku. You are reimagining him as a female. Take advantage of that (except please don't make it a reverse harem because those end up being toxic and sexualizes Izuku while ignoring everything else about her and makes it seem like they only like Izuku now because she is a girl. But that's beside the point).

Make female Izuku work even harder than male Izuku, because she is a girl in a male dominated society and it's a dog-eat-dog world. Make female Izuku have more friends, because even though she's quirkless it doesn't mean girls shouldn't support girls. Make female Izuku form a spy network, because in addition to being quirkless she is a girl and they tend to be overlooked making it the perfect opportunity for her.

What I'm trying to say is that there are so many things you could do with a female Izuku and one of them is changing her name to match what her name was supposed to signify; the ninth holder (even if she isn't in your story).

Now, Aku works for him and is incredibly loyal to him, and can be found as a bartender at the villain-exclusive casino.

OC / SHION’S CLASSMATE

So I’m going to talk about another OC who is also beloved to me, who starts out as Shion’s classmate. He was literally born out of one giant meme @galaxythixf and I came up with when we were chatting about Shion and Neito’s future verse, so literally, two more OC’s were born out of this, I’m going to talk about mine.

Now of course to start, he’s in the General Studies course at UA in 1-C alongside Shion in Shion’s canon verse. However, he’s only in the GS course because he actually threw the Hero portion of the examination upon seeking entrance to UA. This was a spiteful slap in his father’s face, and he had good reason to do so, which I’ll explain about.

Some general information about him, his name is Miyawaki Ryou and he is the only son of Miyawaki Shinji and Miyawaki (Inaba) Izumi. He is the direct result of a full-blown quirk marriage. This is a concept I wanted to explore more in-depth, so here we are folks. Shinji’s quirk is called Inanimation, which grants him the ability to immobilize objects with his mind. Anything that’s coming at him, he’s able to immobilize and render it useless for a certain period of time. This cannot be used at extremely long range at all, and if he can’t see or hear the object or person, he cannot use his quirk. Shinji is a Pro Hero stationed in Shinagawa but is from Fukuoka.

Izumi’s quirk is called Gravity Bind, which grants her the ability to bind objects or people to any surface ONLY after touching them. (This is very similar to resembling a reverse Ochako quirk.) Gravity Bind is a quirk that’s also passed down from generation to generation by manifesting in the person’s eyes. A child of the Inaba family born with stormy grey eyes will manifest Gravity Bind. I like giving extreme physical traits to quirks, so once again, here I am having the wielder having a portion of it within their eyes.

Izumi was born in Fukuoka and moved up to Shinagawa when Shinji got his stationed swapped up north. The two met in middle school, started dating in high school and went on to get married at Shinji’s wishes alongside his parent’s wishes. Izumi fell in love with Shinji along the way, while Shinji’s true intention was to seek an heir with power. His view of the Hero world is very narrow, and he believes in the notion that those who are Heroes should be seeking out ultimate power to stay on top, it’s not necessarily about helping people to him. Izumi greatly disagreed with this philosophy and often tried to talk him out of it, to which he’d always remind her that her job was to produce a satisfying heir, not to lecture him. To be fair, Shinji was raised this way, he knows no other way of living, nor thinking. It’s been conditioned in him since he was a child.

Ryou was born several years later (on October 31st, he’s a Halloween baby AND a Scorpio), with the same dark hair as his mother and her stormy grey eyes. Shinji was slightly disappointed that it seemed to be the Gravity Bind quirk only that he inherited until it manifested at age six. He was an extremely late bloomer with his quirk. Ryou’s version of Gravity Bind differs from his mother’s because Ryou doesn’t need his hands to touch anything he seeks to bind. He can pull objects or people towards him and bind them to a surface through the usage of his mind. So Ryou gained a combination of his mother and father’s quirks, but like his father, Ryou has to be able to see what it is he has to draw and bind. His pull gets weaker if it’s extreme long distance, and if his eyes are closed or he’s temporarily blinded, he cannot use his quirk.

From knowing the extent of Ryou’s quirk, Shinji took to raising him for the next four years to try and condition him to believe that he was the source of great power and that he had to stay on top no matter what. There was never any room for arguing, and as much as Izumi tried to shield her son from this way of thought, Shinji would often snap at her and tell her not to get in the way, that this was important. At age ten, Shinji left both Ryou and his mother, seeking to continue to groom more children to become powerful heir’s of his, but jokes on you Shinji: He never produced a more powerful child. Ryou, his eldest, was the only one to gain a combination of both. Though, Ryou does have half-siblings out there.

As a result of the harsh beginnings of his childhood, Ryou has an explosive personality. He’s irrational, reckless, a real smart ass, and very hot-tempered. Yet, he loves his mother so much and sworn to protect her, while raising the middle finger to his father in the process. Ryou is extremely bitter, and every emotion he feels is often at its extremist. The idea of becoming a Hero worthy of the title is so far from his mind, based on his father’s teachings, that it often seems laughable to him. He throws the Hero exam, which probably would make several people angry if they found out that he did so, to land him a seat in the General Studies course because he’d rather be in there than to bother with a Hero course. (Another huge middle finger to his dad, who despite leaving he and his mother, has been watching him from afar as well.) He ends up in 1-C alongside Shion. He’s content shoving himself in the background for a while.

Yet his ideologies start to change when he meets more people, spends some time around Shion, and of course being around the person he loves the most, Kiyomizu Hayato (he’s in 1-D) who he met in middle school. Ryou develops a passion to protect him and his mother at the most, and to re-write what a Hero is to himself and his family name. He does get a second shot at taking the Hero exam and is slated to join the Hero course in 2-B the following year alongside Shinsou. Neito and him clash like nobody’s business, Neito’s endearing nickname for him is ‘Makeinu’ which is basically a stupid dog. Yet don’t be fooled. Ryou can be draft, but he’s an extremely hard worker and will keep getting up even when he’s at his limit.

His Hero name is Horizon, and he takes his name from an Event Horizon. It’s defined as the ‘point of no return’, and the pull of an object is so great it makes escaping impossible. This is alluding towards his quirk. That once Ryou has a clear hold on an object or a person and pulls them or it towards him, it’s utterly almost impossible to escape. He is the point of no return. Therefore, shorting Event Horizon to just ‘Horizon’ was perfect, and fitting for him. A part of his Hero design is the usage of mirrors, so if Ryou cannot see you, he can use a mirror to see your reflection and meet your eyes through it to still use his quirk on you. This bastard can be sneaky and will pull out all the ropes when going onto the front lines in Hero training or out in the field later on.

Drawbacks of using his quirk are: Intense migraines. Ryou gets migraines when he uses his quirk too much, and they are fierce. They cause extreme nausea and vomiting when overuse is at its peak. If his focus is interrupted, Ryou’s hold on the object or person can be broken and therefore released.

More info to come, but I’ve been meaning to write about him, so here he is. You do not know how tempted I am to make Izumi a relative of the Uraraka clan, just based off her quirk.
