Have you ever wished you could visit a bookstore in a movie??
While the fictional #EmbryoConcepts of #FunnyFace did not exist on the fabled #BookRow of Fourth Avenue, which has itself disappeared since, you can certainly visit #WeinbergModernBooks in downtown New York!  (📧 or dm for your appointment today!)
Our book-lined #Tribeca loft houses subjects in #VisualCulture and #IntellectualHistory, with a distinct #NewYork character, as many of them came out of the collections of local artists, scholars and collectors.
For those of you home and abroad who can’t make it to lower Manhattan just yet, we encourage you to explore our website (link in bio👆) — while it only represents a tiny fraction of our collection, it’s an Alice-themed book wonderland into whose #RabbitHole you may disappear.
And now, please enjoy a fantasy ballet sequence in the grand tradition of #GoldenAge musicals, starring our own #JoStockton, the ballerina and designer, #XiaoxiaoCao.

Jo knocked on Jax’s bedroom door, a small tote bag in her hand.
“Can I bother you?” Her voice wasn’t loud but neither a whisper either.
“Yea, come in.” Jax called out, clearly not eager to greet his older sister at his door. He clocked the bag in her hand immediately as she entered. “I thought I was supposed to be getting you something for graduation.” His smile was one that could earn him a punch to the face easily, and definitely has in the past.
Jo threw the tote onto his bed before leaning against his desk. “It’s just some things to keep you occupied during the ceremony tomorrow.”
Jax leaned over and grabbed the bag and looked through it. Mad libs, activity books, cards. His eyes looked up at Joanne. “I know I’m younger than you, but I’m not 5.”
Jo laughed before pushing off the desk she was leaning on and moved back towards the door. “Trust me, you’ll thank me tomorrow.” She went to close the door before peaking back in. “And I’m still expecting a graduation gift.”
_____________
Jax rolled over, his hand searching for something on his nightstand to tell him the time. 9:01.
“Fuuuuck.” He groaned before jumping out of bed and opening his bedroom door. His voice was calling out quickly. “Mom!” Silence. No one was home. He could have assumed that. The graduation started at 9, Gemma and Clay had probably left at 8, easily.
“Fuck.” Jax cursed again, thinking through what he was going to do. His bike was at Teller-Morrow, he was in the process of adjusting the suspension. Gemma and Clay probably took the escalade which left no way for him to get there.
His hands were quick to dial Opie, praying that he’d pick up this early. They were freshly 21 after all, so waking up before 1 in the afternoon was a rarity. But even though Jax might have started off his morning unlucky, things started to turn.
“Yea?” Opie answered, his voice groggy, probably just waking up.
“You wanna see Jo graduate?” Jax was multi-tasking as he spoke to Opie, moving around his room, picking up clothes from the ground looking for something presentable to wear to the graduation.
“What?” Opie perked up at that sentence, he might have been with Donna, loved her even, but a part of him would always be connected to Joanne Teller.
“I overslept, everyone’s gone, I got no ride and need to be at the Stockton Arena within the hour.” Jax threw his phone on the bed on speaker as he threw a flannel on.
“Alright, I’ll be at your place in 10.” Opie was doing the same thing as Jax now, scrambling to get ready.
“Aim for 5.” Jax said before hanging up and finishing getting ready. Throwing on cologne to cover whatever non-showered, stale cigarette smell he was giving off and then grabbing the black leather box that held the gift he had gotten his sister.
_______
Gemma looked over at the 5 empty seats to her right and then down at her watch. 9:35.
“They couldn’t be on time just this once.” She said under her breath to Clay.
“First, you drag me to this thing and now I gotta hear the complaints too.” Clay said, looking through the program booklet to occupy himself.
Gemma’s eyes rolled and before she could respond back to him, Bobby and Tig were making their way over to them, asking people to let them squeeze through as politely as possible for the two bikers.
“Hi, ‘scuse me, sorry, I love ya, congrats, ‘scuse me.” Tig said as he climbed over the last few people until he reached Clay who was at the end of the row.
“You’re late.” Clay gritted his teeth and spoke under his breath.
“Yea, Tig was indisposed.” Bobby spoke from behind Tig.
Gemma looked up and gave them both dirty looks before moving her legs over so they could take the seats next to them.
“She’s the one, Gem, tall, I’m talkin’ 5’11, easy, biiiiiiig rack.” Tig motioned to his chest to imitate breasts.
It earned a few dirty looks from the surrounding crowd who was trying to pay attention to the graduation.
“Just sit down.” Gemma waved them past.  Bobby plopped down next to Gemma and then Tig next to him.
“Did we miss it?” Tig asked, standing back up now looking at the group of graduates below him looking for Joanne. “Where is she? She decorate her cap with anything?” He pointed to his head as he looked through the rows for Joanne.
“Yea, she’s wearing red.” Clay sarcastically spoke.
Tig looked out and saw the sea full of graduates all in red caps and gowns and nodded before sitting down.
“You hear from Jax?” Bobby asked when he realized there were still empty seats.
“Yea, this morning when he was snoring.” Gemma said, staring at the Jumbotron waiting to see if her daughter popped up on the screen. Bobby snorted at Gemma’s answer.
“Who makes a graduation this early anyways.” Clay leaned over to Gemma.
Just as she was about to speak, Jax and Opie were right at the end of the row.
Opie was there, hair back in a bun, sporting a simple t-shirt and jeans, one hand had a graduation teddy bear in it and the other had a big bouquet of flowers.
Gemma was shocked not only to see Opie, but to see what he brought with him. Opie must have clocked it and spoke up. “Didn’t want to show up uninvited and empty handed, got some things at the stands outside.”
Gemma smiled, she was one of the few that could see Opie’s love for Jo over the years. “You can take Unser’s saved seat, don’t think the Chief woke up in time either.” Gemma moved her stare over to Jax. His hands moved up in innocence and his smile was growing.
“I need my beauty rest, what can I say.”
“Yea, save some for the rest of us you pretty motherfucker.” Tig smirked and greeted Jax as he made his way to the last two empty seats in the row.
Clay stared up at Opie, his brows furrowing, a little angry. The small bouquet of 10 flowers sat in his lap, his eyes moved to Opie’s bouquet, which held easily double the amount of flowers. Opie simply nodded and moved past him, making his way to the very last seat in the row.
“Did we miss it?” Jax asked leaning over to talk to his mom.
“No, apparently these things last hours. Not enough that they charge thousands in tuition but now they have to bore us to death for 4 hours.” She mumbled to her son who was taking out the handful of items Jo gifted him last night.
Bobby looked over at him with his face frowning in confusion until he realized what he was doing. He leaned over to whisper to Gemma. “Enjoy it while you can, not like your other kid is going to college.” He teased.
“You’re going outside the lines.” Tig leaned over and whispered to Jax.
“You’re crossing one.” Jax snapped backwards and pushed Tig away.
“Play nice children.” Bobby called down to them.
Time passed slowly, Clay managed to fall asleep, sunglasses on so no one really noticed. Gemma had contemplated moving to another seat in the arena while the other boys went back and forth but she powered through it.
“Bachelor of Arts? That’s Jo right? Business?” Jax leaned over and called out to Gemma.
“Yea, this is her.” Gemma stood up now, eager to see her daughter. There weren’t many moments in Jo’s life that she could count on her mom, she leaned more on her father and when he passed that void was never filled. Jax might have been the closest person Jo had from her family in her life but nothing could replace JT. But in this moment, Gemma was actually excited, and maybe one would even say proud. Jo knew it was probably more for Gemma than her but she’d accept it.
“Joanne Teller.” The announcer said over the microphone.
The whole row of them stood up and cheered.
Jax was practically frat boy howling, his voice was so loud that it would be a shock if half the arena didn’t hear him. Opie stood the most relaxed out of all of them, clapping but keeping his voice way lower than the rest of the crew.
Clay had clapped and whistled and Bobby matched him with his own whistle while Gemma clapped above her head.
“That’s it baby!!!!!” Tig yelled out as Joanne walked down the ramp and back to the hallway where the graduates all entered from.
Joanne looked up at her family and smiled, she was surprised to see everyone that came. She pointed towards the exit and mouthed a few words that no one really understood except Gemma.
“C’mon.” Gemma said, waving everyone back out on the other side of the row.
“Don’t we have to wait for them to throw up their hats and shit?” Jax frowned.
“You wanna wait for the 200 more kids that have to be announced?” Clay leaned over and asked Jax who turned to look at the large group of graduates that were left.
“Alright, yea.” He stepped out of the row behind Tig.
“Jo’s the one that mentioned it, she’s gonna meet us outside now.” Gemma said as the group of them trekked up the bleachers.

The Charming crew stood in front of the event center, near a fountain waiting for Jo to arrive except Opie, who had gone off to a kiosk close by to order a cup of coffee.
“They don’t make Irish coffees at graduation ceremonies, Winston.” Jo’s voice caused Opie to turn around quickly, coffee in one hand and graduation gifts in the other.
His smile grew as he saw her in her cap and gown, her one hand resting on her cap to balance it as she stood in front of him looking up.
“And I unfortunately didn’t sneak in any.” He stepped out of line so he was closer to the girl.
“I did.” She reached into her gown and into her dress pocket and pulled out a flask and poured it into his coffee cup before he could say another word.
“Well, uh, I’m driving so…” Opie extended his hand out, now offering the coffee to Jo who was getting red in embarrassment.
“Oh shit, I’m sorry I didn’t…” She began apologizing before Opie cut her off.
“Nah, don’t worry about it, truthfully it was just an excuse to get away from the group for a minute.” They both looked over to the group to see Tig staring at a statue of a woman very intently, Clay and Gemma arguing about something, Bobby downing a muffin from the other kiosk near them and Jax on the phone.
“Wait, driving? You drove here?” Jo said as she took in Opie’s words and her head snapped back to look at him.
“Uh,” Opie felt caught and didn’t know exactly what to say based on Jo’s tone.
“He overslept didn’t he?” She shook her head and looked back over at her younger brother. After a couple seconds she looked back at Opie, she wasn’t going to make him explain, he was a good friend not only to her brother but to her also.
“Those for me?” She grinned and nodded to the flowers and bear.
“Huh?” Opie fumbled, still a little nervous as a whole before looking down and coming to it. “Oh yea,” His hands extended forward and now the flowers and the bear were nestled in her arms. “Congratulations.”
“Thanks Ope,” Jo moved against his torso forcing an embrace on him that he was gladly willing to accept. “Glad you were here.”
The two of them walked over to everyone, Jo was showered with flowers and hugs and congratulations from everyone, even her mother who showed a rare act of appreciation towards her daughter.
“Got this for you.” Jax handed Joanne a black leather box.
She opened the box immediately and she felt her breath hitch.
“Took a piece of dad’s bike to get repurposed into a necklace. It’s not like expensive or anything but–”
“It’s perfect.” Jo cut him off, running a finger over the necklace.
The center of the necklace was the same teal blue as the bike, probably taken from a piece of the old gas tank, and what Jo assumed to be part of the old engine framed the outside of it.  There were small metal work details in it that framed the inside blue piece so perfectly. It was truly a piece of her dad with her on this special day.
“Jax this is,” Jo’s eyes widened as she shook her head. “I don’t know how I’ll ever top this.” She let out a laugh and looked at her younger brother.
“Well good thing I ain’t graduating college anytime soon.” He teased her. “Plus, everything you’ve done for me,” he shrugged, “I kinda owed you.”
Before either of them could continue their conversation, Gemma was interrupting them. It was divine timing and ironic how she knew the perfect time to interrupt.
“Alright, we’ll meet you back at the clubhouse, Bobby put together a little thing for you.” Gemma called out as she walked away with Clay, Bobby, and Tig.
Jax looked from Gemma back to Jo and changed the subject.
“Mom said you’re going home with Micky, so I’ll catch a ride back with them. Congrats!” He smiled at his sister and looked over at Opie, “and thanks, Ope!” Jax was talking as his legs sped up into a jog to catch up to the group, leaving Jo and Opie behind.
“I’ll, uh, let you ride back with Micky, see you back at the clubhouse.” Opie was about to walk away when Jo reached out and grabbed his arm.
“Micky actually,” Jo paused in her statement, embarrassed at what was about to come out of her mouth. “Micky isn’t here, we uh, broke up. But I didn’t tell anyone yet because well, you know how everyone gets.”
Opie wasn’t one to ask questions or pry, so he just simply nodded. “I parked around the corner, I’ll take you home so you can show up on your own, lessen the questions.” Opie said.
Jo let out a scoff, “That’ll never happen and you know it.”
Opie smiled to himself, because he knew it was true. Everyone at the clubhouse would ask questions no matter what. He went to say something to Jo, his head turning to look at her when he saw her holding out the teddy bear he had gotten her.
“This must’ve cost you a fortune, they always rip you off at these things.” She stared at the bear.
“I got a discount because of the lopsided eye.”
Jo laughed, “Gives him character. What should I name him?”
Opie looked at the bear and then at Jo and shrugged. No idea what to call the stuffed animal.
“Winnie. After the person who gifted him to me.” Jo beamed and held the bear out next to Opie.
“Not sure if I should be honored or offended.” Opie teased, pulling his one eye down to mimic the bear.
Jo pushed Opie, he might have towered over her, he always had and now that they were in their early 20’s nothing had changed, but she still was able to trip him up a bit which is when he let out a genuine laugh right before they approached the parking lot.
“$45 dollars for parking?!” Jo exclaimed looking at the sign at the entrance of the lot. “My graduation robbed you blind, I owe you.” Jo said to Opie. “Well Jax owes you more but I’ll collect for you and we can go out.” She teased.
He smiled and unlocked his truck for them both to get in, “Smart idea, look at that college degree paying off.”
“That was the first class I took, ‘how to ethically steal from your brother and reap the benefits with your friends.’”
Friends. It was one word but it gutted Opie. It shouldn’t have, he had Donna, but it did. Opie looked over at his passenger seat to see Jo, still in her gown but her cap now situated with the bear and assortment of flowers she received, her hand running over her hair to fix the flyaways and he thought that at least he got to be a part of her life. He’d take being her friend over nothing, especially if it meant getting to be a part of these big moments.

One Dress a Day Challenge
Black and White October
Funny Face / Audrey Hepburn as Jo Stockton
This simple, strapless dress with matching wrap is one of my favorites in the movie ... well, I say that, but really, all the costumes in the movie are good! Sadly, this dress hardly gets any screen time, but fortunately, it was used for some publicity shots so that we can get a better look at it. You can see there are faint white-on-white floral designs in addition to the black ones. I think the look with the blue gloves is an interesting effect. Peak 1950s glamor!

One Dress a Day Challenge- Part Three!
June: Weddings
Funny Face- Audrey Hepburn as Jo Stockton
Even though Jo is only modeling the dress, and not actually getting married, there was no way I wasn’t going to include this dress!  It is one of the most beautifully simple wedding dresses I have ever seen.  *cut to me gushing about how much I love 1950′s high fashion again*
Audrey Hepburn was obviously incredibly slender, but this dress gives her so many curves with that massive tea-length skirt!  I love how voluminous it is, and of course it looks incredible when she is dancing with Fred Astaire.
Tumblr media
The boatneck neckline is also really flattering on Audrey, and that hooded veil is fantastic!  I love the little bow on the top.  You can read a post by @cressida-jayoungr  here about how this dress inspired another wedding dress decades later!

NO AUDREY LIKE "BEATNIK AUDREY" -- ALL THE RIGHT MOVES AND ALL THAT JAZZ.
PIC(S) INFO: Spotlight on the late, great Audrey Hepburn (as Jo Stockton) donning her "Basal Metabolism dance sequence" outfit, a.k.a., "Beatnik Audrey," for promotional photos of the 1957 Paramount production "Funny Face," Paris, France, c. 1956.
"...the "Funny Face" outfit that really cemented Hepburn’s fashion muse status was far simpler: black cigarette pants, flats, and a black polo neck so widely imitated it actually warrants that overused word, iconic.  “Banish the black!” editrix Prescott decreed in the film. Thanks to Audrey and her polo neck, nobody listened to her."

sunny, funny face! snippet or plot summary🥰🥰❤️
my funny face au!! daniel as dick avery (fred astaire) and max as jo stockton (audrey hepburn)
so summary, is very similar to the actual plot of the film!! 10/10 would recommend every watch!! it's peak cinema!!! a foundational part of my childhood!!! (also for any other aficionados of the film,, yes you are going to recognize lines!! i had the script open!! also i love this scene so much i didn't want to change too much!! also, maybe this is just me, but it's hard to adapt the same feeling of a musical into just straight dialogue (hence why musicals exist))
Max drew back from the kiss. “Daniel.” He smiled, cheeks flushed pink. “I didn’t think that we - that you -“ He tapped his fingers against Daniel’s chest. “I never want to go back. I love Paris and I love these clothes and the little church and I love you.”
Max’s eyes widened and he pulled completely out of Daniel’s arms. The pink in his cheeks deepened into a bright red, spreading to his ears. He hadn’t meant to say that last part. He turned toward the river, ready to ignore Daniel until his blush could go away and he could take the pictures.
Daniel caught his hand and dragged Max back around to face him. A wide smile grew across his face, laugh lines etching deep into his cheeks. “What did you say?” His voice was lightly teasing but his eyes shone with something Max couldn’t quite place.
Max glanced into Daniel’s face and then quickly away. “I love Paris.” Maybe they could just pretend he hadn’t said anything more than that.
Daniel shook his head, grin getting somehow even wider. “That’s not what I heard.” He pulled on Max’s hand until he swayed closer. “Oh, Maxy, what do you know?”
Max tried to tug out of Daniel’s grip. He couldn’t take Daniel’s teasing. Not about this. He thought back to what Daniel said when they were taking pictures by the train, You may never know that kiss again, you may never know love again.

What's known so far about the search for the missing Titanic submersible
The submersible last headed for the Titanic off the coast of Newfoundland is still missing as of Tuesday morning.
The U.S. Coast Guard is leading the operation with assistance from the Canadian Coast Guard vessel Kopit Hopson 1752 and air search from the Royal Canadian Air Force Aurora aircraft out of 14 Wing Greenwood.
5 Things to Know newsletter: Sign up to start your day with the biggest stories
Sign up for breaking news alerts from CTV News
The passenger submersible operated by OceanGate left St. John's, N.L. on Sunday morning and then lost contact with surface crews one hour and 45 minutes into the expedition.
Time is of the essence in the search due to the 96-hour oxygen supply aboard the vessel.
Here's what we know so far about the missing submersible:
WHO IS ON BOARD?
The submersible is carrying five passengers, including Hamish Harding, a billionaire and explorer, Paul-Henry (PH) Nargeolet, a French explorer, Shahzada Dawood and his son Suleman, members of one of Pakistan's prominent families and, according to Reuters, OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush.
"We started steaming from St. Johns, Newfoundland, Canada yesterday and are planning to start dive operations around 4am tomorrow morning," Harding wrote on Facebook on Saturday. "The team on the sub has a couple of legendary explorers, some of which have done over 30 dives to the RMS Titanic since the 1980s including PH Nargeolet."
WHAT THE SEARCH LOOKS LIKE
Former U.S. Coast Guard captain Andrew Norris told CTV's Your Morning on Tuesday "time really is the enemy."
"The challenge is finding it… that's going to be difficult enough, but then affecting some sort of rescue," he said. "That indicates the challenge that rescuers will face to do some sort of recovery, even if they do find it."
Search and rescue teams are battling the clock as the oxygen onboard the submersible lasts about 96 hours. Norris indicated there could be emergency oxygen supplies on board as well.
"They would have the normal oxygen supply that we're talking about that is a 96-hour window, but they'd also have — like on a plane if there was a fire or something — they'd have the ability to put on some sort of oxygen breathing device," Norris said.
The U.S. Coast Guard said at a press conference Monday that sonar technology is playing a key role in the search efforts.
If the vessel is found, Norris says, the rescue would be in "very difficult circumstances."
"The Sea State has to allow the deployment of that equipment, they have to and then it has to work kind of perfectly the first time so it's really a challenge," he said.
Beth Penney, a reporter with CTV News affiliate NTV in Newfoundland, told CTV's Your Morning on Tuesday that weather conditions have not been good for search efforts.
"We learned through social media, that this was going to be the only expedition that OceanGate was going to take to the Titanic wreckage this year, and that's because of poor weather conditions in Newfoundland and Labrador," Penney said.
CANADA'S ROLE IN THE SEARCH
The area where the submersible went missing is under U.S. jurisdiction, Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard, Joyce Murray, told CTV News.
"There is a unified command under the U.S. Coast Guard’s leadership that Canada is playing a very committed role in," she said. "The Canadian Coast Guard is doing everything that we can to help. We have the CCGS John Cabot (that) has sonar and it is headed to the site."
Both the U.S. and Canadian coast guards have teams looking for the submersible and the Royal Canadian Air Force has an aircraft flying above.
"Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) Boston has requested assistance from Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) Halifax in the search of an overdue submarine," a spokesperson from the RCAF told CTVNews.ca in an email. "The submersible has lost communications with its surface vessel located 380NM south of St. John’s N.L."
Kathryn Hallett, a spokesperson from Fisheries and Oceans Canada told CTVNews.ca in an email, "Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) Halifax is providing assistance as required."
Murray says two other Canadian Coast Guard ships are in St. John's ready to port equipment.
When asked if any Canadian facilities came in contact with the submersible Murray initially said she would not "go into details."
"Because this is a hugely emotional issue for those who are doing this work to save the people aboard the submersible and their families, and every effort is being made," she said. "It's an international initiative at this point with assets coming from Great Britain and Germany."
However, Murray confirmed that Canadian facilities are doing "everything in their power" to assist in the search.
WHY IT COULD HAVE LOST CONTACT
Norris says there are multiple ways for a submersible to lose contact with the surface crew.
"There could have been a catastrophic breach, which would have resulted in an implosion, it could have had some sort of fault that caused it to lose communications and or the ability to lift itself off the seabed," Norris speculated.
Other potential issues include getting caught in debris that can be found along the ocean floor and near the Titanic.
Officials have not confirmed why the submersible lost contact.
WHERE WERE THEY GOING?
OceanGate Inc. is a privately owned U.S.-based company that provides tourism explorations to the deep ocean.
The company's website says the five-person submersible, named Titan, can reach depths of up to 4,000 metres — 7.2 times as tall as the CN Tower.
The Titanic, which sank in 1912, is located about 600 kilometres southeast of Newfoundland in the North Atlantic Ocean. OceanGate expeditions to the wreck cost passengers about C$300,000.
The submersible is made of carbon fibre and titanium and is 6.7 metres long.

Bad Haircut
Jax Teller & Opie Winston & OC Joanne Teller
From these August Prompts: Bad Haircut
Words: 1.2k
Warnings: Light angst. A/N: Not a Charming life chapter but using that taglist since it's my girl Jo. I love creating these one shots that stray from my original scenario for the Charming Life story!

Tumblr media
Jo had been working her way through beauty school while Jax was making his way through the formality of being a prospect for the club. Everyone knew him and Opie would patch in, their legacy was strong between JT and Piney but everyone in the club just needed to bust their balls for a few months, build character, ya know.
Most everyone in her family cared more about that than Joanne’s stretch at the Stockton Beauty Institute and School of Cosmetology. That was fine with her, she’d take everyone saying nothing over them giving her shit for it, which they definitely would have, especially Gemma. She was just days shy of getting her license and the boys were just hours shy of their patch in.
“Don’t you wrap up school soon?” Jax asked as he sat in the salon chair Jo had set up in front of her vanity.
Jo was standing in front of the vanity mirror grabbing scissors and a comb from the barbicide jar. “Two days until the ceremony.” She nodded and grabbed a towel to wrap around his neck since she knew that he wasn’t going to put a smock on to catch the hair.
“So it'll be like your college graduation?” Opie asked as he sat at the edge of Joanne’s bed, arms resting on his knees.
“Except significantly less people.” Jo laughed and shook her head as she tilted Jax’s head around looking at what she was working with. “There’s like 15 people in my class.”
“Oh thank God.” Jax let out a big sigh.
“You weren’t going to come.” Jo pushed his head.
“We both were, just weren’t sure when and where it was.” Opie now looked up at Jo, his beanie snug over his head despite the weather in California.
Jo just shook her head and began to cut Jax’s hair, taking half an inch off the ends. “It’s at the School in Stockton, 1PM.”
“Afternoon?!” Jax piped up, excitement in his voice. “15 people, 1PM call time, free haircuts for life, this is way better than college.” He teased.
Joanne let out a laugh. “What about you, patch in party tonight, is it better than you thought?”
“Ask us in a few months.” Opie smirked before getting up to look at the photos Joanne had tucked behind the frame of her vanity mirror.
“Wish Dad was here to see you patch in.” Joanne spoke to her little brother who just nodded slightly.
“Let’s hope I live up to the weight of the legacy.” Jax’s voice turned solemn.
“Make your own.” Jo said sectioning out his hair, finishing up the layer of hair in the back. “Don’t let the club decide your legacy, make your own. That’s what Dad would want. He never wanted us living in his shadow.”
“You comin’ to the party tonight?” Opie turned around with something in his hand.
Joanne’s eyes moved down to see what it was but as her gaze moved it landed on the prospect patch that sat on the left side of the kutte. She thought things would be different, she thought she’d be Opie’s old lady, which was extreme wishful thinking considering they had never even dated. But the signs were there. Things worked out the way they were supposed to, if she had gone down that track, she wouldn’t have gone to school, both times, she was making a life for herself on her own, something her father would be proud of. But staring at Opie wearing that prospect patch made old feelings stir.
“Can I have this?” Opie was now holding the photo up in the air.
It was a photo of the three of them on bikes as kids. Despite Jo being a little over a year older than Jax and Opie, they both towered over her in the photo, much like now. She was the only one in a helmet, more of her own fear of wiping out and hurting herself. Her bike had a pink basket on it with a SOA “A” sticker on the basket.
“Yea, I have a few copies of it.” Joanne combed through Jax’s hair making sure all of it was even. “You know you put that sticker on my bike basket.” She tried to hide her smile. “And Jax put the reaper on the back of my bike.”
“Protection.” Opie laughed knowing the exact reason both of them put those stickers on her bike as kids. “From those neighborhood kids, right?”
“Yea the ones who’d throw glass in the street hoping to pop our tires.” Joanne let out a laugh.
She moved now to start brining Jax’s hair back into a low bun, styling it wet since she knew he’d argue the second she went to grab the blow dryer.
“Didn’t you beat them up?” Opie asked as he plopped back onto Joanne’s bed.
“I did, after they popped Jax’s tire.” Joanne looked over at Opie waiting for Jax’s argument to start.
“You threatened them.” His voice drew out a little as he tried to call her out. “There was no beating up involved.” His head turned to face Joanne in protest.
Her and Opie let out a chuckle. “They never fucked with you again, did they?” Joanne asked while Jax rolled his eyes. “Now turn back around I’m almost done.”
Jax clicked his tongue in his mouth and turned back around to face the mirror while she wrapped a hair tie around the man bun she styled for him.
“This haircut makes me feel like a douchebag.” Jax asked as he leaned forward out of the salon chair.
“You always look like a douchebag.” Opie chimed in, his tongue poking through his bottom lip as he teased his best friend.
Joanne pulled Jax back into the salon chair and tucked the few stray strands behind his ears. “It’s not the cut, I styled it, the girls will love it.”
“It’s my patch in party, the girls will love me regardless.” Jax spoke while eyeing himself up in the mirror.
“I think it’s your personality that speaks douchebag, douchebag.” Joanne pushed him out of her hands and went to place her tools back in the barbicide and wipe her hands off.
“Hey! Shouldn’t you guys be leaving for the patch in party?” Gemma’s voice got louder as it got nearer and the door to Jo’s room was being open. Her eyes moved from Jo, to Opie, than fell on Jax. “You look like a douchebag.” Her face twisted up in disgust.
Joanne took a big sigh at that and held her hand out knowing Jax was going to take the hair tie out and she would be prepared to put it back on her vanity.
The smile grew on Jax’s face, it made her want to punch him but she had to admit it was kind of funny. As his hair fell out of the tie he looked at it in the mirror. “You’re right the cut does look good.” He handed her the hair tie as he checked himself out in the mirror.
“Whatever, douchebag.” Her eyes rolled.

Je critique les Robes de Mariée de Star: Ariana Grande
Tumblr media

Tumblr media
Merci d’avoir lu cet article!!! 💕💕💕
XOXO, Cozii.
