Each moment apart felt like death. The anxiety of not knowing whether or not Jaehyun would come back to him or if the demons they were running from would finally catch up. Snatch him when Johnny turns the other way.

Seventy-four days since he’d seen Jaehyun. Since he’d seen anyone else, besides the guard standing watch near the door to his prison. The walls reinforced with a material that kept him from even trying to use his abilities.
He tried that on day 11, yet the small disk that had been lodged into the base of his neck stunned him until his legs gave out. The guards were stepping in and beating him until his grey t-shirt was stained with blood.
Johnny fell complacent in the 63 days following, staying silent while his eyes observed. Even when they’d set him across from someone who had been following him and Jaehyun every step of the way. From Seoul to Ilsan to Daegu to Busan to Naju.
They’d rattle on and on about how Jaehyun was a ghost in the water, and no one knew where he was. Yet, they always made sure to remark about how he’d come up eventually, whether it was dead or alive.
“Tell us, Youngho, where would he go? What were your plans after Naju?” It was the same question every single day.
It was in the silence of his room, where Johnny would tug up the thin, worthless excuse of a blanket over him. Muttering out the quietest prayers that Jaehyun escaped the country, that he found a safe haven away from this country where mutants were forbidden. Public safety hazards.
By day 243, they no longer saw him as useful for any information. 8 months without any sightings of Jung Yoonho (also known as Jaehyun) in any part of South Korea. They were spending money elsewhere on other mutants. To them, Jaehyun was just another casualty to their fight for getting rid of any carriers with superpowers.
For Johnny, it was eight months of longing, whether it was the night he’d awake after dreaming about Jaehyun being gunned down alone. There had never been any murmurs from his psychic boyfriend, no inklings of his whereabouts.
It took them days after that before they realized Johnny wasn’t a threat. He barely spoke, only ate their minimal rations, and the only time he acted out was when the memories hit him like a brick, and he yearned to tell Jaehyun it was going to be okay while Johnny’s nightmares caused him to wake up sobbing.
They allowed him three hours of monitored time in the general areas with other prisoners, still locked away in another larger room but with various tables and chairs with books and even some old movies.
He found himself looking forward to those three hours of recreational time.
On day 742, Johnny no longer remembered what Jaehyun looked like. He barely recalls the way his hands felt when he’d take his hand in his, nor does he remember what his favorite things were.
Memories were so fragile and elusive that they escaped him in two years; while they held him as their prisoner. There was no longer a reason for him to stay silent. His complacency fell away, and he acted out more and more with each day that passed.
“I have nothing left to give you, please, let me go,” he begged.
“Who is Jaehyun?”
It scared him how fast he’d forgotten the things that came before. An unease filled his gut because he knows that there was something before this place, yet he can’t seem to recall.
And maybe, as if to bring him comfort, that night, Johnny dreamed of a small wooden cabin. Crops surround it. He was nearing this tiny house, overlooking the water. Two dogs were running around out on the gravel road, chasing each other with fervor, darting towards him with loud barks as soon as they see him.
A voice calls from a distance for the dogs to settle, and Johnny only has to tilt his head up to look from where the dogs circle his feet.

Double Trouble.
You were at a party with your friend, just dancing away on the dance floor when someone came up behind you and placed their hands on your waist.

There was never a day Manager!Doyoung from the sales team was slacking off. With his impeccable work ethics along with being a perfectionist, the whole office knows how hard your work is as his assistant manager. It takes talent and patience to deal with your boss’ ass. He expects everything to be quick with too little to none errors. So when he asked for your ass to come to his office to submit him a report from the company’s latest product that was due for an hour already, Manager!Doyoung immediately stormed out of his office to look for you.
“Where on earth is Y.N?” He asked, obviously annoyed as he shuts close your empty office door behind him. The whole sales department quivered at the idea of their angry boss who was out of his office. Majority of them froze at their spot.
Manager!Doyoung snickered in disbelief, pushing his glasses up his nose bridge. If he finds out that you’re procrastinating, you are dead. He points his finger at the intern who just came in. “Hey you! Have you seen Y.N?”
“I-I,” The poor girl was caught off guard. “I think I saw her at the Marketing departm-”
Manager!Doyoung wasted no time. He stormed towards the elevator, pushing the button to the marketing department a little bit too hard. His jaw clenched in annoyance as he waited for the door to open. The intern was right. You were at the marketing department floor with tons of fast food paper bags in your arm and a tray of coffee at the other. The word angry was an understatement. Manager!Doyoung was fuming at the sight of you.
“Where are you going with all that food?” His loud familiar voice startled you, making your head turn immediately. You stopped midway from entering the marketing department’s office. “What the fuck do you think you’re doing here, huh?”
You tried to give a smile to your boss. “Well, you see Sir Kim, Mr. Jung and Mr. Suh saw me at the lobby to fetch you some afternoon coffee so they gave me their orders too.”
He snickered in annoyance before his hand gripped your wrist without notice. You were practically being dragged by your boss towards the marketing department office. You stumbled once he let go of you. But being the gentleman that he is despite being a cold jerk, Doyoung’s hand went flying to your waist to balance you.
“Can I please have a moment with Mr. Jung?” The marketing team blinked at his sudden arrival. “Now!”
The office workers scram to knock at their manager’s office door. Jaehyun not knowing the gravity of the situation went out of his office along with his best bud, Johnny, the manager of the human resources department, with a huge grin on their faces. The both of them were delighted that their snacks finally came. Their smiles immediately vanish when they see you with a nervous smile and a fuming fellow manager on your side.
“Now listen up you two.” Manager!Doyoung loosen his tie out of anger. A scowl is evident on his face. “Y.N is my assistant manager not your errand girl. Now I suggest you let your interns to do the dirty job for you and leave her the fuck out of it. Understood?”
Johnny’s lips turned into a thin line while Jaehyun’s face was red because of embarrassment. They nod, accepting their mistakes wholeheartedly. Jaehyun gives you an apologetic look from where he was standing.
“Sorry Y.N” Johnny took the initiative to get the food from your arms. The whole time he was doing that, Doyoung’s eyes never left the tall man.
He was glaring at him all throughout. “Furthermore,”
“She is mine to begin with.” His remark made your eyes into saucers, a look of disbelief on your face as you turned to him. The whole office froze at what they heard. Even Jaehyun and Johnny let out a gasp at the sudden revelation. Your boss realized his mistake after a good few seconds. His face turned red in an instant.
“My employee,” Manager!Doyoung tried to keep his composure as he corrected himself. “Because she’s my employee God damnit! Now, get back to work!”
Trailing behind your angry boss, an obvious grin was painted on your lips. You tried to keep your giggles to yourself as you waited inside the elevator. Manager!Doyoung gave you a glare while he fixed his tie.
“If you laugh you’re fired Y.N” Just like that, your giggles echoed inside the elevator. He lets out a scoff before staring directly at you. The dark look from his eyes made you slowly back away, only for your back to be greeted by the cold elevator wall.
“Don’t think I can’t make that happen love.” Doyoung raised an eyebrow with a teasing smirk before the elevator door opened and your boss was back being a cold asshole once again.
