tbh i understand that it's not like herotaru could've fully portrayed mona's depth as a character because it is not her anime. it's for hiyori and friends, and so far her and mona haven't actually even met in canon, she was mostly there as a treat to the viewers (and a Lot of people were happy to see her). maybe there were better ways of handling her, but there were other characters more important to hiyori's story that needed the development

all of the haniwa characters have their fleshed out stories but it is not always their moment to be told

#so let's hope for a mona anime next #but yeah just like they didn't show the entire ft4 backgrounds or even the jurikou romance they werent going to show mona's entire struggle #because it's hiyori's anime not anyone else's #hworks #mar's midnight rambles

Gen 2 and 3 of Honeyworks really are intersected, huh?

Koudai/Juri being the couple that ties the two gens together.

Ken/Arisa and Aizou/Yujiro paralleling eachother with Ken and Aizou sharing the same background (as they are brothers), both falling for a blunted banged dark haired tsundere who hated them at first, who both work in a traditional family wearing traditional garments (Arisa miko, Yujiro kimono), who both had pretty much no friends until their respective Shibasaki came into their life and pursued them, and who are both associated with cats (Arisa Kuro, and Yujiro the other cat in Samishigariya)

Kotaro/Hina and Nagisa/Hiyori paralleling each other with both Kotaro and Nagisa being childhood friends of the girls and loving them ever since they were children, watching the girls grow and supporting the girls in track, watching them fall for another guy (with Hina it was Koyuki, and with Hiyori it was Asuka). Both Hina and Hiyori wrote a letter to their love interest but both got rejected, both girls supported the guys in a big athletic competition and started to see them in another light, and both of the guys say something to the girl in the “growing feelings for him” phase, with Kotaro whispering to Hina that she’s the cutest in the world, and Nagisa telling Hiyori that she’s always been a heroine. And both take years to get together.

Good lord. How can anyone make so much perfection in just a few couples???
