Something I had done years ago on A4 size paper. I think I skipped a few due to lack of space. Kings and Queens of England (after king Henry IV)

The Princess of Wales, later Queen Mary, with her two eldest sons, Prince Edward of Wales, and Prince Albert of Wales.
I love this picture where Queen Mary's hand is on both David and Bertie's shoulders. I’ve seen just a couple of pictures of her doing that with Bertie, in most part of the pictures she’s doing that just with Edward. I’m very happy I found this because both Mary and George V are always portrayed as terrible parents, and I'm not saying they were perfect but certainly compared to other parents of their time they weren't so bad.
But what are your thoughts about this?

Your blog made me realize how NSFW Mary's and George's relationship was and it's really awesome. Rather than fading out or never blossoming into something deep like his own parents' marriage, they managed to bond in a very wholesome way. It's rare to see royals so in love. Do you have a favorite story about them?
My favorite anecdote of their intimate life is about the embroidered bed pillows.
Queen Mary (who was VERY accomplished with a needle) embroidered two pillows for the bed--her bed, where they usually slept together. On the front of each pillow, very beautifully embroidered, were the names they used with each other--one said "MAY" and the other "GEORGE."
Sometimes the pillows were arranged to say "MAY GEORGE?" and other times they were arranged to say "GEORGE MAY."
😝

“I read that when princess Margaret was born, Queen Mary was a bit upset because she expected a boy, but king George V was happy and he said "girls let you play longer with them' and I think its so cute. He was so loving with his granddaughters. Most fathers and grandfathers will always prefer their daughters and granddaughters more 🥰” - Submitted by Anonymous

What the Duke of Windsor had to say about the relationship between his father, King George V, and his mother, Queen Mary:
"I met love too late. In the house where I was born and raised, my parents were like two enemies who hated each other but had to live together. When my mother got angry with my father, she used to talk about our late uncle Albert Victor, we learned why years later. My father talked about his cousin, Queen Marie of Romania, whom he fell in love with when he was a young boy. Not only bad moments, my father used to come home with jewels every night to make my mother smile. Although we lived in a constantly small and simple house, our mother was the one with luxury and comfort among us."

London, 1914. King George V and Queen Mary at the Y.M.C.A., Great Russell Street. To the left of the King, a Mr. Vergo, Secretary General; to the far right, Lord Kinnaird, President of the Y.M.C.A.
OH YES and standing next to his mama, let’s not forget an adorable 18/19 year-old Prince Bertie! He looks so shy and awkward, what a heartbreaker 🥹

I found another photo where they are very close... some people says that George V and his wife Mary were "stiff and cold" persons, but I dont think so, or at least, not when they were out of the public's eyes.

The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and York en route to Australia 1901.
‘We have only heard yesterday that our visit to Australia is to come off after all,’ wrote May on 8 February 1901.
The display of lachrymosity over the departure of George and May on their voyage on Ophir were exceptional even by royal standards. When the King proposed their health at a farewell dinner on 16 March he broke down altogether, and 'only suppressed sobs were heard'. Aunt Augusta remarked: 'I would not have believed he could have been so very low & upset'. George was so affected that he 'could hardly speak' in reply.
The next day Ophir steamed out of Portsmouth, passing the King and Queen as they waved from the royal yatch. After this poignant moment, wrote George, 'May & I came down to our cabin & had a good cry & tried to comfort each other'. Aunt Augusta paid Alix a visit soon afterwards, 'when she told me all about it, crying all the time.' As for May, she confessed that 'those dreadful farewells nearly killed me, & I was obliged to take to my bed & do nothing but rest’, staying there until Gibraltar. 'The pent up emotions of the last days had much upset me, particularly havin to keep one's feelings under control, so no wonder I collapsed.’
