6. How did they decorate their bedroom?

They didn’t, the kids did.

Emmy never cared much for interior design - she was basically raised in a bootcamp and was more than happy to get an actual bed to sleep in at night. Clive on the other hand went full Clive mode and elaboratored this beautiful gold and navy colour scheme that included bedding, decorative pillows Emmy does not have the right to sleep on (what’s the point???), curtains and fancy “““appliques””” or whatever.

But then the kids came along and started gifting them so. Many. Drawings. While Emmy loves them all dearly, she was more than happy to keep them safe in a binder, but Clive just. Would not have it. And bought frames for every single one of them.

Their previously minimalistic walls are now covered top to bottom in every drawing Nina and Hermann have ever made. Emmy teases Clive about it sometimes, but she loves him even more with each picture he proudly adds to the mosaic.

Everyone, meet my OC Nina, the daughter of my favourite rarepair ever, Clive Dove and Emmy Altava from the Professor Layton series.

Very excited to ramble about her and share some of my doodles! 💙

Favourite thing about them:

How smart and responsible she is. Accountability is the most important lesson she learnt from her dad growing up, and she intends on staying true to the values he instilled in her. Anyone who deviates from this key principle instantly gains her disdain.

Least favourite thing about them:

How mistrustful and unwillingly controlling she can be.

Girl cannot for the life of her let someone else get behind the wheel for a second because she’s terrified her world will crumble around her if she isn’t there to hold it together.

If only there was someone as trustworthy, reliable and responsible as her she could lean on… 🤔

Favourite quote (from an old mini-comic):

BROTP:

Nina and her little brother Hermann (pictured here on the right) are radically different and yet they are the best of friends. The ultimate ride or die duo.

So there’s this very cute blonde girl -

It’s not really a thing anymore but she used to have this very persistent suitor (@dragongutsixofficial you know the one). I might bring them back as I flesh out the characters’ story but they definitely won’t be as much of a bother - maybe an annoying flirt at most.

Random headcanon:

Her first book was a beautifully adorned Egyptology book that her grandpa Hershel bought her before she could even read properly. She learnt about a lot of gross mummification facts at the sweet innocent age of 5 and would randomly share them with the adults in her life as they were trying to go about their day.

Song I associate about them:

Many of them, but Surface Pressure from Encanto is the first to come to mind!
