Summary: After being shot in Forbodium castle, Alfendi wakes up in an unfamiliar room with no recollection of how he got there. A strange visitor shows up.

I’m BACK with more @laytonbrothersbirthdaybash stuff- Day 7 was Legacy, and I decided to take this opportunity to go in depth of one of my AU characters, one of Lucy’s alters that I’ve given her, and write a fic on it.

Summary: To her wretched father, she was Loopy. So she called herself Loopy Lily. In the house of the Makepeaces, she was either called that, or called Lily Makepeace. Little Longstocking- the pesky Lucy Baker inside her head- wanted no part in the shenanigans she began performing when she learned the tactics and tricks of Keelan Makepeace. But they were one body, and Lily wanted the wheel! So it came to be that the whole of London knew her as a fierce killer: The York-Lanc Fox. Of course, depending on who you ask, the legacy might be very different.

Story will be under the cut, I BEG you guys to read tags, and, even then, take caution because this is definitely one of my more violent and gruesome stories.

Heyyyy I read a bunch of your Layton fics and I absolutely love them, my lil autistic self has been hyperfixating so hard <3 I would like to know your opinions on what Lucy and her siblings would think of their mother's sort-of-friends from back in Misthallery, Luke and Crow mostly ^^

And before I move on, this contains characters from my LBMR fanfiction, Layton Brothers: Devil's Child on Ao3!

Now, moving on to your questions, under the cut:

I think, of all the Baker siblings, all of them would enjoy the company of their mother's friends. They trust their mother most, and so they trust her judgement that her friends are also good people. Singling out Crow and Luke, I would say Loosha, Lucas and Lucy would would get along best with Luke, while Luna and Lucien would get along best with Crow- all this due to the similar personalities. Luke is loud and excitable, Crow is more reserved and held back albeit charming. Even after they reach adulthood, I'd say these traits stick around, and naturally pull in people of similar typing.

That's not to say Luna and Lucien dislike Luke and vice versa. I think each group would still like the other person (again, they trust their mother's judgement of people), they would just either prove to be too excitable for Crow to keep up or too held back to keep up with Luke. This logic goes for every other Black Raven member.

One of the highlights in the fic for me was definitely Lucius doing his whole preachy yelling and singing and Florence just pretty much calls him a little bitch and says she doesn't give a crap about god. Good for her, get his ass

And OH BOY HILDA. "The flash of complete rage in his eyes made Hilda worry for her coworker’s life" I'd be worried too Hilda, unfortunately both the metaphorical [And literal in this situation] fear of god are not concerns for Florence

Maybe not the time to be laughing considering other ongoing events at this point in the fic but this little exchange made me giggle

Tagging this as -fic spoilers- and -lbmr fic spoilers- for those who may want to block them and read Devil's Child without being spoiled! The tag -lbmr fic questions- can also be blocked for anyone, though they might not always contain spoilers. Answer for anon under the cut:

In all seriousness, though, I'm glad you found that both funny and a highlight- that moment really allowed me to characterize Florence more, especially in such a short time frame. while adding a bit of Poorly Timed, Now is Not the Best Time Humor. Florence does not give a SHIT and is insulting the man who is literally going to kill them, and Hilda is over here, ready to have a fatal heart attack at age 29, nearly 30.

Lucius: Demons be damned, God praise all!

Florence, bouta ruin this man's whole career: Guess what, bitch-

Out of the many favorite scenes I wrote in Devil's Child, that was one of them, and my favorite line in it was Florence's, "We’re all going into a hole in the ground anyway, and the only judgement we’ll receive is- sniffle - how extravagant the caskets are."

In short, I took plain lbmr Florence and upgraded her, and now she is wonderful.

The first time I read Devil's Child I had actually just finished playing Curious Village for the first time, so when the Bakers brought up the odd birthmarks point Flora instantly came to mind.

Glad she stayed out of trouble cause oh boy after all the times she got kidnapped in the games she deserves a break

Oh anon my darling she would not have survived.

Fully convinced that Flora would not have lived if she were involved in this so YEAH SHE NEEDS THAT BREAK A LOT.

Like I don't remember just HOW many times Flora has been kidnapped but I clearly remember Unwound Future and that was already a lot.
