So it's obviously been a very exciting week for British starkids (understatement of the year) and I hope you're all looking forward to May as much as I am

Honestly this all happened so fast I still can't quite believe it's happening!

Anyway, I've seen loads of people sharing their excitement/saying they want to connect with other people who are going etc and I thought it would be nice to create a space for us to connect/share ideas/build hype etc

So that's what this is

If you ever want to find other people who are attending, share your perfect setlist, discuss outfit ideas, or just scream with excitement then this is the place to do it

As an intro, Hi, I'm Ella and I've been a fan of starkid since 2011. I was lucky enough to see starkid at leakycon London in 2013 and since about 2017 had given up any hope of them ever performing here again so currently living in a bit of a daze. Oh and I'll be in the stalls at the matinee

I've genuinely just had the best evening of my life I cannot explain. I didn't think i'd have achieved all my goals by 26 but having just seen some starkid performed live I can say that I now have.

I remember not being allowed to travel up to London to see them when they came to LeakyCon in 2013 and it just feels like such a full circle moment.

The crowd went absolutely wild for every starkid song as well so I'm really hoping they take that as a sign to do a proper concert here some day

I love that video from LeakyCon London in 2013 where Joey’s singing sidekick and he doesn’t hit the high note and he makes a face and then he undershoots it again and he just moans and rolls his eyes and then holds the last “love” longer than usual because he’s extra and amazing more than anything

I know @hatchetfieldtheories and @setzappersto-pew have made posts about watching PMC and AVPC to complete our A Very Potter journey, but I feel I should add just one more thing. The 2013 LeakyCon opening feels like an unofficial continuation of the story. This show has a surprising amount of sks in but being the opener for the entire con it also has many others (Jon Cozart, Ashley Clements, Maxwell Glick, Jackie Emerson, Anthony Rapp).

It stars Ron and Belle (from Beauty and the Beast played by Devin) as them and many other characters find themselves in the Forrest Of Fandom. Ron has been feeling like he hasn't accomplished anything since he graduated Hogwarts so he wants to go back and offers to lead everyone to safety there. Loki (played by Joe Moses) doesn't want that to happen. He doesn't want all of the fandoms to come together and join forces. He must stop them from stopping him from ruling the earth.

It's really fun and I love the song parodies so much. Tessa wrote the ending parody and she did so so good. I highly recommend it especially if you want more content of older sks. Also I read somewhere that Tyler is supposed to be playing Darren so there you go.

Hello everyone I made an extremely niche meme about leakycon 2013 (in 2020 I know) because I was reminded of it by something and I know I still have a couple of mutuals from that did yall wanna see it or is it too vague now to remember lmao

From 2013 to now, I religiously listened to nerdy bands like Ministry of Magic and All Caps. Well, recently I found the answer to the question I’ve had for years “what happened?”. Luke Conrad (sorry if I spelled it wrong) happened. Alex Day happened. Alex Carpenter happened.

It’s so upsetting to find out that three of my favorite bands ever broke up because of manipulative assholes. According to the internet, Chameleon Circuit and Ministry of Magic are on hiatus (but I really doubt it). But, it’s for the best that they were called out. It protects people like me; underage, naive, and afab; from being manipulated.

The girls that came out about all of it so long ago are so brave and my undying support goes towards them.

All of that being said, I still have questions.

1. Are ANY wizard rock/timelord rock still active? Or has that genre just died?

2. Are any of those cons (leakycon, etc.) where said genres perform still active?

1. What was your first OTP?

I mean look. It’s gotta be Harry/Hermione. THANKFULLY I was barely online from 2000-2005 (due to the fact that I was under 12 for that entire time) so I didn’t get sucked in to the early hp ship war helscape, which would have probably put me off fandom for life tbh. I just existed in my own little world playing pretend games with my friends where harry and hermione figure out a way to bring sirius back and also maybe fall in love??? 2003 was a hopeful, hopeful time.

3. Do you have any OT3/OT+ ships? What are your favorites?

i definitely go through phases where i’ll like. peruse some #content for an ot3 or ot+ for a while. just kinda dip my toe in the water and read some fics and see if i like it in that space. turns out inevitably if it’s not Soulcrushingly Tender Monogamous Fools In Unrequited And/Or Pining Hell then my attention span is only about a week long.

HOWEVER.

will/tessa/jem is that rare exception where i genuinely, in the source material, can see all three sides of the triangle and am unbelievably upset about all of them. i once plotted out an entire college au for them so you know it’s real. 

but like again only up to a point bc whenever i reread the books I am instantly transported back to 2013 and **** **** ** ****. **** *********!!!!!! so like

honestly amy/eleven is like.....the ship I have gotten into the most FIGHTS for

but also being at leakycon this year and seeing an entire room go SILENT when a panellist talked about shipping h/hr on a recent reread.... I Felt Threatened
