Alma 32:40-43, Book of Mormon

This is one of my favorite scriptures about faith and how to show faith.

Like a seed of faith, if you nourish it and it is a good seed, it will begin to grow.

As you continue to nourish it, it will continue to grow.

Eventually, your faith will take you much further than merely a seed.

Like the mustard seed that Jesus spoke of, your seed of faith can grow into a very large tree.

You will then be able to obtain the fruit of that tree.

Wherever your faith is right now, start there.

Nourish your faith and watch it grow.

So Christmas, was three days ago. I really meant to post something on that day, but it was really important to me that I post this. Not nessasirly to the people that will see this. I don't really go out of my way to interact with people, so this is more for me. To hold myself accountable for remembering the christ in christmas. Now the it's been 48 hours, so the seasons long over, but it's still something, proof. That more than vapid commercialism there was more meaning to it than that. That a baby who was half God being born of a Virgin in an animal feeding station would grow up to save the world, is more than just a funny story people tell at the darkest time of the year. And also that as lovely and beautiful as all the nativities and symbols are of a white peice of fabric wrapped around a small human colored blob. He didn't stay that way, that his birth was only one of the first miracles to grace the earth of his coming.

The apostle Peter spoke, or rather wrote, concerning the eventual renewal of the earth and the Second Coming of Jesus Christ to the earth where He and the righteous will dwell (2 Peter 3).

Peter also warned of apostasy and taught how to prepare for the Lord’s coming.

Something that stands out to me is in verse 14.

“…Be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.”

I love the simplicity of Peter’s words.

How do we prepare for the Lord’s coming? We need to be diligent.

In other words, we need to live according to what Jesus Christ taught.

We need to keep his commandments.

True, daily life is challenging. It’s not easy.

But if we endure the challenges we face, we too will receive salvation through Christ the Savior.

“And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation…” (verse 15).

Longsuffering…. It wasn’t easy for the Savior, nor is it easy for us.

But it is possible because of Christ.
