or the similarities and differences between c!techno and c!dream

cc!dream's comments about how his character is similar to c!techno in motivation inspired me to write my first serious lore analysis in forever because it's something i've talked about quite a lot.

there are a lot of similarities between the two, from the fact that they both deal with dehumanization (being seen as a weapon or 'the blade' and being seen as a monster or undeserving of being treated as human) to the fact that they both struggle with showing that they care to their ultimate motivations.

but when it comes down to it, the differences lie in how they respond.

where c!dream leans into his dehumanization (because playing the part of the monster protects him and his plans), c!techno fights against it at every turn. he wants to be seen as a person, he wants to be understood, from his motivations to his reasoning. c!techno tries desperately to get people to see things from his perspective. meanwhile, c!dream doesn't want people to see him as a person because he doesn't want them to look further into his plans, to his reasoning. it's a sort of protection, if everyone thinks he's a senseless villain, they're not going to question him! it allows him to enact his plans without scrutiny.

both c!dream and c!techno want there to be a united server but there's a huge caveat here: techno is an anarchist and dream is an authoritarian. they may have the same motivation but their ways of wanting to enact that couldn't be more different! techno wants a united server insofar as he wants there to be no government, where everyone is free from coercion and there's no leader. on the other day, dream is completely fine using coercion to have everyone under the same banner, if you will.

something else to note, and i think the most important part, is their relationship with caring and friendships. c!techno used to be someone that thought being alone was the only way to do thing. he thought being alone was the only way to be safe. and c!dream shares this same belief. he dethroned c!george to keep him out of conflict, he told c!punz to pretend to betray him so that punz wouldn't be suspect, and it wasn't until c!ranboo was murdered that dream ever admitted to the fact that they worked together. the difference, the critical difference, is that techno has learned that having friends you care for is a benefit.

and c!dream is still learning that. we see from the last lore that instead of attempting to take down las nevadas alone, he called in his friend and someone who could be an ally, at least for the moment. there was some vulnerability there.

but c!techno had already learned that, had already figured that out, and that's one of the key differences between them. it's their reactions. it's techno saying that he does care and it's dream saying he doesn't give a fuck about anything.

they've had similar experiences but their choices and reactions are what makes them so very different. their motivations are similar but their tactics are on the opposite ends of the spectrum (except for the whole 'yeah let's blow up the government' thing).

it's honestly fascinating because there's so much overlap between the two of them but at each turn, they make strikingly different decisions.

c!techno has been like c!dream (and please, don't get it twisted, this is not me saying he's done things like c!dream has, that's not what this is, it's just that he's been like that, trying not to care, been seen as something not human) but he's farther along his path, he's learned more, he's changed more. techno has taken the steps to do better.

c!dream hasn't, maybe never will, and that's where their paths diverge.

I'm gonna say something that might be controversial but I'll say it anyways.

Ahem.

Ranboo's lore is unoriginal by dream SMP standards, not just as a concept. Naturally it's unoriginal by concept standards other people have come up with this idea before.

But on the dsmp he is not the only person to have this lore, and this issue for lack of a better word is why I LOATH to bits people scapegoating CC dream for whoever the CCs didn't or don't communicate. He may have owned the server but the lore wasn't is idea and largely didn't partake in lore, and from what I understand didn't overlook it either.

My impression from looking at fans talk about the lore behind the scenes stuff was that Wilbur was to some unknown extent in charge. But as I heard more stories and rumors about the treatment of the server's playerbase towards their fellow player, it became clear neither was true, and it was always that responsibility to communicate with the other players fell upon to the individual CC to do so, not Wilbur and certainly not Dream as many seem to claim.

Even your favorites are guilty of this, you should scapegoat Dream to ignore the issue just because they're your favorites and Dream is easy to punch down on and pin all the problems of the server on. Hell I rarely see any drama go by without Dream being dragged in as blame partly blamed on him regardless of we know or not he's involved or to blame. He is partly to blame, but not solely like I see a lot of people imply.

The miscommunication problem should have been called out a lot sooner, evidence was kinda always there, but it's now way too late, and i genuinely think some good would have happened if it was addressed.

For example:

Fundy and Ranboo have the exact concept for their lore. And it's never addressed. This is lead to a lot of interesting parallels and themes between the two that are never acknowledged. If it wasn't for the fact the way they discussed their lore and ideas for it, I'd assume it's intentional but it's very clearly not and I think their lore suffers for it.

What is Fundy and Ranboo's lore? Well, person has a supposed subconscious other version of themself with powers the consciousness version doesn't have, and causes the person to have issues sleeping, and generally causes them bouts of severe mentally health issues and "spells" of unreality and disassociations.

This subconscious self claims to the same person as the awake conscious self, and claims to genuinely want to help, but does so in a way that comes across as scary, unhelpful, strange and unusual, their actions and methods concerning. They also claim not to exist. Also, the more this subconscious self takes over, the worse the mental health of the waking conscious self gets.

In both cases this leads the person to another person with a smile motif often known for being shady or morally grey at best, others of the server often keeping their distance from this smile man. Though when they met this smile man, it's in a dream, and it may not even be the real person, the real deal, but rather something conjured up by the subconscious self to serve a purpose of sorts.

Especially now on the QSMP it's plastered everywhere to point if I wonder it's meant to be subconscious programming of sorts and for whom.

Besides a man with a dubious moral code and smile motif, they also come across a mysterious entity. For Ranboo, his Enderwalk ARG calls this entity Z. Just Z. And as for Fundy, it's not named, but there is a shadowy cloaked figure that chases him until he wakes up.

In both cases, they eventually give into this subconscious self seeking help and guidance, hoping for answers from the self proclaimed subconscious version of them directly.

And that's kinda it. Nothing comes from the similarities, and as far as I can tell. They aren't intended to be this similar. I WANT to theorize that they are similar because Z/"Nightmare" is lying to Fundy and Ranboo for some unknown reasons.

But it's basically confirmed that's not the case, Ranboo implied he didn't really know what they wanted from their character having changed their lore and even species a lot, eventually settle on: full blooded enderman that's just a chimera/half albino, and he's not possssed by anything it's genuinely a subconscious self that trusts dream for some/no reason???

And it's too similar to be Fundy somehow was predicted or copying Ranboo in the sense of again, Ranboo kept changing what he wanted the end to be, hell he changed how his death was play out, Wilbur confirmed it was gonna be self sacrifice to save Tubbo only for it to changed to be by Sam's blade.

I largely believe things could have been different if they just communicated, especially given how to some extent unintentionally Fundy gets replaced by Ranboo as Philza's grandson, as in Philza rejects Fundy in lore and disowns him only to turn around and allows Ranboo to live with him and Techno in their secluded fuck off away from everyone else cabin when they shunned nearly everyone else. Additionally Ranboo's being Fundy's last ally prior to Las Nevadas.

It could have been very interesting. It's clear as CCs they talked but also clear there similarities by chance are not intentional. The only thing that hints that I'm wrong here in my eyes is Z talks to Fundy in ender only for Fundy to realize what it means, meaning CC fundy knew about the ender walk but to what extent?????

:(((((((((((((((( stuff like this makes wish things... turned out differently. I genuinely wanted a s2 of dsmp. But seeing the CCs either not show up the ender dragon fight and or slowly quietly leave. Just. Ugh. The community thrives just bittersweet seeing the CCs move on to greener pastures.

Your butterflies idea has got my brain working overtime so as payment I want to share some small ideas:

-the butterflies using their color and wing movement as a sort of code or signal system

-the server being on edge with not being able to tell which butterflies belong to c!dream

-similar idea but with the server witnessing all butterflies seemingly disappearing or a sudden and dramatic increase (both scenarios work with c!dream being imprisoned or escaping)

-the butterflies trying to secretly hang with punz

-the prison and places significant to c!dream being covered in butterflies

-the butterflies having mock eye designs

-c!quackity having to plan on how to not have the butterflies blow his cover

-c!dream’s chat having mixed feelings on ex-friends so there is a mix of avoiding and hindering them in spite or sadly staying close hoping they’ll change their mind

-some of them have designs and attitudes that remind c!dream of long gone attachments

i like a LOT of these ideas, but one in particular kinda stood out...

Technoblade's hooves clacked against the obsidian as he walked around the cell. He seemed a bit energetic that day-- he'd go through periods of exhaustion and stir-craziness at fairly unpredictable intervals. That day was an  animated one.

Dream, on the other hand, was feeling absolutely drained. Sat on the floor and partially curled in on himself, he had a hard time keeping up with his roommate's energy. "An answer to what?" he asked.

"To the question I asked, like, 10 minutes ago! You're re-directin' again, see?" His voice took a steadier tone as he repeated it again, "Why does God look like you?"

"I literally don't know what you're talking about."

"Yes you do! Dude, have you looked in a mirror? Ever? Because if you haven't, let me tell ya, it would be a lot like lookin' at God."

Poetic. Dream scoffed.

"You're an idiot."

"I'm perfectly rational and sane," Techno countered.

"No you're not. Techno, I'm not covered in eyes."

The God they saw-- DreamXD-- did, admittedly, look a little bit like Dream. Much of their features were the same. His nose, his brows, his cheekbones, his jawline. The resemblance was there, sure. But what Dream lacked was the multiple eyes that decorated the god. DreamXD had a few small eyes underneath the main ones on his face, a few up his arms, on the back of his neck, and probably plenty more underneath that flowing cloak of his.

Techno's hooves stilled. His eyes scanned up and down Dream's form, and Dream raised a brow at him.

"You used to be," Techno said.

Technoblade remembered planning Doomsday. He remembered spending some extra time with Dream and Philza during their preparations, and he remembered the stark contrasts between his own chat and theirs. Dream and Phil had elegant and airborne chats; Dream's butterflies decorated the cabins, and Phil's crows sang haunting tunes throughout the forest. Technoblade's chat stayed within his head, repetitious and largely unhelpful.

He'd watch the butterflies land on Dream, clinging to the edges of his armor. The eye-like designs they bore on their wings spread across him, blinking as they fluttered. It was surreal to watch.

Now, locked in a box and lucky to see the few butterflies that were able to sneak in, Dream seemed empty.

"I guess I was, huh," Dream mused.

I discovered that Communication Knife AweSamDrunz have Children Now today, and I’m loving everything I’m reading so far.

Also that they hang out with Sapnap, Philza, and Techno. Was not expecting that, but yeah, Dream would want to reconnect, wouldn’t he? Even if it make Sam Uncomfortable and Punz Salty.

aaaaaaaaa I'm glad!!! The kids are sort of separate from the main au in that they're not really the main focus, they're just something that occasionally makes me happy to rotate in my mind. Healed, happy characters who are extremely neurodivergent, with their weird neurodivergent children, able to exist contently.

also, yeah!!! I realized a while back that I haven't really talked about the relationships and conflicts or Anything with real consistency on this tumblr. I'm used to interacting with people in the discord who've already had to listen to me so many times yell and rant that I've forgotten that I. might need to give context actually to other people who have showed up to a person on a soapbox spouting nonsense.

short answer: yeah, theres a Lot of complicated feelings, but by the time the children are in the picture its been like a decade and peace has been made with most things. No one has forgotten, of course. Shit was fucked. But events keep happening, characters keep developing, and Dream cradles his happy ending with the people he got to keep so very close to his chest.

So its like! Techno will support Dream through thick and thin and be civil with his partners, Punz and Sapnap had some rough moments but are buddies, and Sam will never talk to Dream's friends about anything deep, but after years of him genuinely trying to be a good partner, Techno and Sapnap are no longer five seconds away from trying to murder him.

Long answer: I'm trying to pull together some posts that will give detailed explanations of this entire thing. Itll take a bit, but its infinitely easier than the full fic I was trying and failing to write. I'm pulling this timeline from an old post so it might not be completely up-to-date even with my edits, but this is some skeleton stuff I can give that will make things easier for Understanding probably. Sam rescues them (without Q finding out) and then kidnaps them, where he ties up Punz and gets Dream kisses until they all eventually pass out (Dream gets mild medical attention)

Dream wakes up and unties Punz

SamDrunz has a talk and decides Sam is allowed kisses again

many kinks are discovered

Sam tries (and fails) to get a hobby

Sam builds +30 prisons/boxes/sex dungeons around the server, of various usefulness

Sapnap finds out about the Torture, sees the sex tape, assumes Dream can't consent to the relationship considering Sam was his warden and Sap thinks Punz betrayed him, and takes Dream to a cottage away from everyone to try to protect him. After Sapnap yells at SamPunz, Dream gently informed Sapnap he's going to continue the relationship, and they have an emotional reconciliation that leads to weeklyish meetings between Dreamnap where they can just sit and talk

Oooh uh I'm not very good with superlatives. Hmm...

Lazy answer tbh but because I can't think very hard, I'd say c!Sam in a lot of ways? Which is funny particularly bc c!Dream seems to be under the impression that they're a lot more similar than they actually are until Shit Goes Down. c!Sam and his choosing c!Dream over the entire server versus c!Dream's ruthlessness being applied to everyone and absolutely not sparing himself. c!Dream's general dislike for power structures versus guy who thinks he was born to be listened to. c!Dream's ambivalence w/ morality (and his spiral into thinking of himself as pure evil, after. well. a lot of things) versus c!Sam's defining literally everything based off his batshit moral code and I Am Good isms. I think they want similar things in some ways, but unlike, say, c!Dream and c!Tommy (who I think have much more similar ideas of what a peaceful server would look like), c!Sam would make Samville The Peaceful Town Where Nothing Goes Wrong As Long As You Listen To Sam and have an underground torture bunker. God c!Sam is so batshit

(For some more answers, probably c!Sapnap in terms of conflict resolution? Uhhh c!Punz is p high up there in terms of motivation. I'm sure there's others that'll come to me eventually)

Prison arc, sorry. I'm predictable. But for eras that I think are chronically underrated, Pogtopia-c!Dream will always always always have a place in my heart. We don't talk about this man enough fr. I need to go back and just binge all c!Dream content especially pre-Vassal bc god that man breaks my heart.

25. If c!Dream had to join an existing/former DSMP country or faction, which one would you choose for him?

The Syndicate, probably! Well the Syndicate if I'm trying to be niceys otherwise I'm shoving him on Sam's island or in Las Nevadas to kick my feet as the world burns. But yeah I've always had a very soft spot for Syndicate c!Dream--my guy is so scared all the time man :[

26. What do you think is c!Dream’s greatest strength?

Hmmm...probably his intelligence? He's damn smart and he knows how to utilize it well. He's a hell of a fighter and he's a hell of an opponent even when his brain is a little twisted up in itself in fear, he knew how to play around people's perceptions of him and create an absolutely batshit plan and pull it off. The Revolution, November 16th, Staged Finale...he knows what he's doing and he sure as hell does it well.

(Thinks about how all three of those include accounts of him intentionally putting his allies in positions that would put them at the least amount of risk, between c!Dream's overcaution in the Revolution and doing the duel himself, the nonsense with the traitor/there is no traitor that kept people's eyes off Wilbur, Staged Finale being explicitly a plan to protect c!Punz...man.)

c!Dream is smart enough to cook up a plan and ruthless + determined enough to go through with it Whatever It Takes, and yet he's still honestly pretty cognizant of the risks and acts to minimize it (especially risk to those working with him). c!Dream is competent and that has always been a big part of what I like about him

Hi I'm thinking of writing a canon divergence fic about Sam and Jack, but since they don't really interact much I'm curious what you think their relationship is like, since what I know is mostly that Sam doesn't like Jack because the latter wanted to kill Tommy.

Do you have any thoughts on what their dynamic would be/is like, in canon?

hi!!! (also sorry if it's been a while, i'm slowly digging through my queue and inbox one post at a time)

first off, very honored to have been the person you thought to ask about jack's dynamic with someone would be! fair warning it has been a Bit since i've watched the dream smp (not out of any malice it's just Very long) so my memory might be a bit foggy.

to make a long story short:

while c!sam was suspicious of c!jack, he wasn't ever made aware that jack was planning to kill tommy.

jack worked for sam one time to try and figure out what happened to some of the prison's cameras in an attempt to gain access to the prison, but nothing came of it.

jack (along with ranboo and tubbo) was told by sam the news of tommy's death. they don't get a chance to talk much about it, but jack was the one to spread the news across the server.

jack didn't get along with sam's robot, sam nook. jack genuinely cared for the hotel, but his need for it to be attached to himself (the name in particular) was seen unfavorably by sam nook as he saw it as a challenge to what the hotel was really all about (tommy).

when tommy and jack argued (after tommy's revival) tommy sent sam nook to "sort jack out", intervening between him and jack.

when jack left for new manifoldland, leaving the hotel, tommy talked with puffy and sam about finding (and killing?? likely a hyperbole) jack for leaving the hotel / not taking care of it while tommy was caught up w/dream (...i think)

they might've talked briefly during jailbreak, jack upset with sam at him "letting dream go", but i think that's the last conversation they ever had

there's a lot you can do with them! lots of unexplored potential! the way i see it the two biggest points of interest between them would be tommy (and their conflicting viewpoints on him, one angry and one guilty) and dream (and their very similar viewpoints on him, that he was the real evil of the server) but you're totally free to approach their dynamic from whatever angle you want!

Boundaries or not you can't stop it, this thing happen everytimes.

When I was in the Undertale fandom I saw shit like you can't even imagine!!! Some creators in that fandom will create some cute or even dark AU and then people will totally vomit bullshit to them no matter what.

In the Gravity Falls and OTGW fandom, I and other people shipped Pinescone (WirtxDipper), and most of us will age them up but others Not!

And don't let me talk about the gore and porn stuff that some people draw (some of them are 16 years old) even when the original creator said no!

As I said I have been in a LOT of fandoms, and I keep seeing this war over and over again.

Many people took what Techno said as "NO, don't do that",  but for me was more "This is cringe and I don't wanna participate it. Please, keep it private".

And with Techno that NEVER really talked about it in a more specific way like Niki did. (I remember she said to "don't ship HER (real person), but that we were free to USE her Character for our fanworks").

We were left with a very lovely ship, but with some people that will come and say "delete that or else", even when we tagged and keep it between our friends on AO3.

I believe that the creators have no issue with us using their fictional characters, but if we wanna talk about boundaries then I wanna use an example: 

Imagine that you (creator/artist) make a doll (series/comic), and you give that doll to a person or kid (fandom), and maybe you give them some "rules" (boundaries) about how to play with this doll. Now the person starts playing by creating fictional stories and scenarios (AUs and headcannons) that don't have much to do with the original story (canon plot) of this doll. From there the person inevitably begins to give this doll (which has become a completely different character from the original story) "companies" who can be family, friends and love interests. The doll is now the Persona/Original character of the fandom.  At that point the fandom created something so similar and different from the original story and characters. And the original creator can't "take back" the doll, because it has become something totally new even though it's still part of the original series in a way.

This is what in a way happened in DreamSMP's roleplay, where the creators have given us a product, which we have with our imagination changed into something new. (Where this is going with the boundaries??? I’m going there)

This kind of behavior and creativity is the foundation of every single fandom, and you can't change it... Because that's what makes a fandom.

The moment the creators of the DreamSMP created the Server and its storyline, they knew that inevitably this sort of thing was going to happen!!!!

And yes some asked to avoid some things (like using their real persona, or to avoid writing or draw smut or horror/dark/gorey stuff), but even so they never said "DO NOT CREATE this particular topic at all" not really, what they tried to say was "Please, if you create this context keep it private and don't force it on me, because it make me uncomfortable”. That's what I really hear from every single creator and artist at the end of the day. And that's what we as fans are supposed to acknowledge and respect, but fail to do (towards the original creators and other fans).

Another example: Dream said that horror and gore make him sick, but that wasn’t an order to stop creating dark content for his character. (That Dream said something that made people angry, and then fans and haters bein assholes with him is something totally different and not new. If you some of you was on Twitter on that time you know exactly what happened and how 😓)

I've learned not to force my ideas on others when it comes to fandom, whether I'm right or wrong.

You can't tell people what to create and how, not when the fandom was originally created by fans for fans!!! To allow them to run wild with their imagination and creativity.

Don't you want your fandom to create some kind of stuff? Then don't create a fandom... or at least stay away from it.

I mean, Toby Fox the creator of Undertale has never interacted more than he should with his fans here on Tumblr (where the Undertale fandom was born. Even when the level of toxicity skyrocketed), and for a reason simple: there is no way to control people, you can only hope they are respectful enough to keep their shit to themselves and not make trouble for others.

If you go to my tags you will find some problematic ship (not DSMP) with themes like: incest, selfcest, R-18 (for the smut/lemon scene), and other that I don't remember.

These tags are all about fictional characters that I'm 100% sure the creators vomited blood after read them.

Still this hasn't stopped anyone from creating them and enjoy these kinds of themes.

If you wanna avoid to see the “Dreamnoblade” (or other ship names), you need to go on your Settings and use the Filtered Tags!!! And if you find a post DNB with any tag on it then you need to contact OP (the creator of the post) and ask them to use the tags that will help your filtres to work!!!!

In the past, I had a lot of people coming into my ask-box asking me to tag "in the correct way" my posts to avoid seeing things that they did not like. I had to create the “moth” tag, because some guy that followed me didn’t like the photos of moths that I LOVE to reblog!!! So I don’t understand why you can’t do the same 😑

So I Repeat:

1- You can’t control people and force them to be like you want.

2- You can’t and should NOT trip guilt fans to throw away what made them happy, especially if they keep it privately (on Discord, AO3 or here on Tumblr), with NO intentions to show to the CC their PRIVATE WORK.

You CAN and SHOULD create boundaries with other fans asking them to be respectful towards CC and yourself, and to use tags correctly (like good neighbors do).

big wels fan and i miss him so im thinking up ideas of my own for headcanons. so far we've got:

-he's the knight of the hermitcraft server, we all know this. that's his thing. but him serving the server world as if it's his lady/lord? as knights (to my knowledge) often treated their ladies as they would their lords. and it wasn't uncommon to see knights serving ideas as their lords, like where they lived and whatnot. the house serving as a lord. i just prefer to call the server his lady when we think about his diabolical rap lines. he refers to hermitcraft as "she". nothing crazy but there's a lot of potential i like here.

-with serving hermitcraft as his lady, he's bound to it by code. you can play with this however you like because there's lots of ways to play with minecraft mechanics for smp headcanons. i like to imagine he's bound by code, so he follows hermitcraft wherever it ends up being. he's in less danger than the other hermits when situations such as the moon impact happen, even if he did technically escape via flying car. i also like to use this idea to say that he is a non-play entity. in which ways? i think you can do anything with that. npc by nature is my go-to for ideas. or he started as an npc and stuff changed as he went along. or maybe he's still fully or mostly npc, with just some crazy ai that's adapted to the hermits. npc and fae creature also works well.

-with having slept through the end of season 6 and beginning of 7, as well as taking a hiatus now from season 9, sleeping is how the server protects him from internal code issues regarding him or her. he's big on sleep anyways to keep monsters away, but there are times when he'll fall into coma-like sleep for extended periods and emerge someplace new most times. you'll never see him when this happens, as the server tends to protect him via vine and tree growth around wherever it keeps him, but he's somewhere outside. however, the extended sleep causes more issues for his physical body and he's saddled with bouts of chronic pain and his legs are always weaker for a long time after he wakes up from these periods. they're much weaker than they used to be, and he can't regain that same muscle, but he can regain some alongside any pain that lingers because of it.

-during these sleep periods that he's unaware of before waking up again, he exists within a plethora of dream worlds. during season 9, this would be his current modded series. they exist between the realm of real worlds off-world of hermitcraft and being fake. it's really wishy washy

other fun headcanons that aren't my go-to but i enjoy seeing around:

-wels is haunted/animated armor. either him or hels is. or both

-wels is just some guy that showed up one day. bypassed server walls and all somehow. he doesn't know either. but in exchange for staying after that little mishap he takes role of knight of the server and makes sure similar things don't happen again. like an added layer to the firewall or some sort of antivirus protector.

So, to begin with, I wanna make it clear that I’m somewhat neutral on this topic, because I’m still a fan of both sides of this. :) I’m also a relatively new person to the fandom, so I cannot speak on anything that took place before late sept. 2022 when I started introducing myself to this community because I’m not well versed on it.

To begin this, I gotta go back all the way to face reveal and twitchcon time frame, the last time Dream and Quackity publicly interacted with each other on their own volition. It was already pretty obvious that after the event and the Drituation, Quackity started drifting away from Dteam, since their interactions literally became nonexistent, and while it is true that you do not have to always interact online to SHOW that you’re friends, it really speaks for itself when you answer everyone else’s tweets and comments except for a Select Group of People. Then after radio silence came the Quackity and Wilbur wine stream, in which George called Quackity and even Dream was mentioned, but even then, when we were all holding onto dtqk crumbs, Quackity literally showed No Interest on wanting to know what Wilbur was saying about Dream’s music video, people used that clip to show that “loudduo was still alive” but you can tell that he’s Not Interested. At All. Then when George called, Quackity was being distant, even as they joked around, went as far as to decline his call when Wilbur hung up on him. Although it Can be argued that the stream was mainly Quackity and Wilbur and they wanted things their way, not taking that away from them, just something to keep in mind.

So, Quackity is distancing himself, although Dream didn’t interact with him as much, Sapnap and George did and got ignored, each and every time, and it was so obvious too. That goes on until the time of the Squidcraft Games in which Quackity DID interact with dtqk a lot more, but even then, it was an event with around 200 other streamers, to call that an interaction is kind of weak, especially when Quackity is a reserved person and does not air his personal Situations. Then when QSMP is announced, Dream shows his support privately and reveals that he also had a similar idea in the works, and whether it was the intention or not, it does look like he’s trying to deflect the attention from Quackity’s project, but at the same time, Dream gets demonized for almost everything he does, if he hadn’t cleared the air about that, he would’ve been called a copycat and everything under the sun, so I get why he did it.

Putting all of that aside, I feel like this all started snowballing when Dream posted that the USMP would be the first multilingual smp in the world and then Quackity posted the same thing for the QSMP, and now as more information and proof comes out that Quackity’s server IS the first multilingual SMP in the world (as he now has added Portuguese speakers) since he had been talking about and hinting his ideas as early as 2022 of my knowledge (I’m not taking into account when he told Wilbur he WANTED to do something to unite both communities he grew up in, only when he started asking people if they would be interested in joining his server) it’s more noticeable that absolutely no communication had been going on between these two for a While, and I also don’t think Dream did take the idea away because even when Quackity hinted the QSMP’s launch, nobody thought it would be that but rather, we all thought it’d be either merch or music, and I myself saw that. I don’t think it’s wrong of Dream to want to do a multilingual SMP either after seeing how well received the Squidcraft Games interactions were, but it just turned into a petty war of who was first, which at the end of the day, doesn’t fucking matter.

Then The Mod came out, and I apologize for forgetting the name but it was a shitshow and I’d rather not remember it. First of all, Quackity did not handle that shit correctly, he lacked an apology, empathy, and sincerity in his statement, saying “I’ve been told the mod is quite offensive so it will be getting removed” is not enough when people are being affected by it, because even if it was used before, even if no one had complained about it before, he’s the owner a server that promotes cultural union, and if a part of your community that practices a culture you’ve wrongfully represented says that they’re not comfortable with the depiction of a hostile mob that has been ridiculed by streamers in YOUR server, you LISTEN to them, because at the end of the day, your audience is your EVERYTHING. Period. Dttwt starts getting attacked and called sensitive and snowflakes over it, that’s when the harassment really starts, and let’s be honest, over the past few months, as Quackity got more popular, his stans just got worse and worse, they’re the most parasocial I’ve ever seen a fandom act, and I‘ve been in armytwt and dttwt. So dttwt gets harassed, and no response from Quackity at the racism that a good portion of his fans are implementing, whether at this point him and Dream have beef or not, your fans represent you, even if you don’t like controversies and drama, your fans attacking anyone and everyone they don’t agree with or think are less than them is very VERY harmful, and should be addressed. While it is true you cannot control a big fan base, and NOBODY, EVER, said that he was going to, addressing negative concerns about your fan base is ESSENTIAL, to show that you CARE about the well-being of those being harassed.

Honestly, it’s a blur after that, I’m pretty sure that what happened next was Dream posting snaps with dates that showed how he was also planning the USPM in early March, which was Very Intentional to show mainly drantis that he didn’t just pull it out of his ass, but it backfired more after streamers such as Wilbur, Philza, and others started promoting the “QSMP is the FIRST multilingual server in the world” and let’s be fucking for real, Quackity started it as a bilingual server, at the end of the day, the only two communities he grew up in was an hispanic and an american one, if he started promoting it as a multilingual server after its launch, then it’s completely different. Anyway, Wilbur and Philza knew EXACTLY what they were doing and how it was going to be perceived.

And that leads us to the fucking Tweets. I’m gonna be honest, Dream should’ve NEVER aired this shit out, at least not something so private and personal such as Quackity literally ghosting him and mutual friends. Not only because us as fans do not need to know, but also because something you should never do, especially as someone so big as him and that has been on the internet for a long time, is be vulnerable online. NEVER. I’m not saying he shouldn’t have addressed the doxxing and harassment situations, of course not, what I mean is: he shouldn’t have mentioned Quackity, at all. It was unnecessary and this I will give to some Q stans, it socially pressures Quackity to respond to him, which is very shitty in my personal opinion. He should’ve kept his tweets about the doxxing, about how his family’s been harassed and how the drama surrounding them is a dumb reason to start a fan war. That’s it. I know he meant well, because the tweet is very vulnerable (THATS THE FUCKING PROBLEM), but it just caused the drift between communities to deepen.

And also, Quackity did not address ANYTHING, but instead, streamed as if nothing is going on. I don’t wanna know his opinion on Dream, I don’t give a single FUCK, I wanted him to address the fact that due to the harassment his fans put others through people’s lives were endangered, not only Dream’s and his family’s (although it is not directly Q’s fault, the rampant hatred from his fandom did amplify the issue and caused him to get doxxed again, which is really fucking shitty and disgusting; not only that, I’ve seen people say that Dream BLAMED Quackity for it, which he did not do, and that it’s not a big deal because he’s been doxxed before, WHICH IS ALSO NOT OK) but also other stans from dttwt who were doxxed and even stalked outside of twitter and had to get involved with the authorities. Over Minecraft servers???? It’s fucking insane, and both of them are in the wrong; Quackity for not addressing it and acting as if everything is ok, and even PRAISING his fans, and Dream for airing out personal issues between Quackity and him that did not NEED to be public especially because Quackity IS a reserved person.

I still stan both Quackity and Dream, and I hope with the entirety of my soul for them to either work it out or fucking block each other already, I don’t care anymore. One more thing, majority of Q stans are fucking immature and parasocial as fuck, and a good part of dttwt as well, we’re all in the same fucking shithole anyways so.

The issue a lot of people are having is when Q announced his server, dream's response was to go "Oh cool but I'm doing something very similar and that's gonna come out soon and I'm not copying btw :)"

He said this (on his private) because he was working on something similar and if he didn't the copying allegations would be even worse when he announce the USMP. It was a reasonable decision.

Also, dream claiming to be the "first"

Yeah there wasn't really any reason to do that. But technically he said "first multilingual smp with live translation", so it was factually correct at the time (he did not know about QSMP translator). Quackity's announcement after was obviously shading dream; no way the wording being the exact same was a coincidence.

And also, knowing his "friend" Quackity is bilingual, why wouldn't dream ask him to join his server in the making?

He was going to. He messaged Quackity and planned to make him the "head" of the Spanish speaking part of the server. So the beef was one-sided at that point.

Another thing to point out is that announcing a server similar to what another "friend" is doing is something he could've totally avoided. Shouldn't dream be concentrating on dsmp season 2?

DSMP season 2 had been (rightfully in my opinion) dropped. DSMP was very popular, but it had ran its course and Dream realised that. Dream was working on the USMP with no knowledge of the QSMP. He had the translator being coded by Callahan. Are you suggesting he just drop his project because of Quackity's announcement? As well, there was a big difference between them until Quackity added the live translation and made it multilingual (after Dream announced his).

But this isn't relevant to the real issue. The only thing Quackity had to do which would have very likely prevented Dream's family being stalked would have been one tweet about the USMP, so his fandom does not descend into intense hate. Why couldn't he do that?

Hi!! I'm the anon that sent that long and uh, "immaculate" ask about the scarian fic :D I'm really happy that you liked it so much, it made my day to read your response <3 (i somehow saw it only days after you responded and i was like "aw man it'd be awkward to respond so late" so... i didn't, sorry ;-;)

But!! I saw you were curious about the Winged Grian lore, so I'm gonna try to expand a bit on what other have already said.

So, there's a few ways that the fandom originates Grian's wings: Avian/Mob Grian, Watcher Grian, or simply Shapeshifting Elytra.

Avian/Mob Grian: Either born as an avian (a person with bird characteristics) or a mob (aka parrot/chicken). This usually presents as: Grian with white chicken wings, parrot wings (either the tri-coloured mc one or other irl parrot species) or custom coloured wings pertaining to his colour palette. Lately, due to Him getting the Dragon Egg and protecting it, people have also been giving him dragon wings, which belongs to the headcanon that his wings have shapeshifting abilities. This headcanon (i can't remember who first made the headcanon, sorry!!) can be found related to the other origins as well. (You might also find older stuff with dragon wings due to a very brief story line at the end of s6).

Watcher Grian: The backstory to this one is pretty big, but to condense it: In Grian's previous SMP series, Evo, there were beings of great power that tasked themselves with creating worlds, updates and so on in the MC universe. It happens that they take an interest in Grian and his server, helping them along the journey of hopping from update to update, beginning from the Alpha build. At the end of the series, right as Grian & co go to the end to defeat the Ender Dragon, Grian is taken by them (this technically was him starting his Hermitcraft series at this point, but lore wise it's a big blank of time). They are not really shown as malevolent, but since we don't really know their true motives, people went on to create their own takes of them. ATUS (And the Universe Shifts) was the most popular HC fanfic for a long long time (it was even read by Cleo) and it is what shaped today's most popular interpretation of the Watchers: entities with too much power and too little compassion, aka pretty evil! Anyway, Watcher Grian is presented as: Purple, lots and lots of purple and void and EYES (the SUPER focus on eyes is a bit more recent, tho), with the Watcher symbol & mask. He's been called (by the fandom) the Red Watcher, Techno's Blood God (due to the red watcher thing) and the Chaos Watcher. Wings usually are purple, void, cosmic, EYES, red, black, his cloak, or a combo of any of those.

Shapeshifting Elytra: this sorta speaks for itself. It's actually a headcanon that is used for all the other hermits as well, due to the focus being on the Elytra, rather than the character's origins! Mostly, the idea goes like this: Elytras take the shape, form and colour of whatever the player is like, unique to each of them. For example, Scar, as he is sometimes (canon and fanon!) a vex mob/hybrid, would have vex wings, sometimes he'd have wings matching his outfits and skins. This is presented as: Grian's wings shifting from watcher wings (s6) to (sometimes, depends on the fan artist) chicken wings (s6) to parrot wings (s7) to dragon wings (s8). That, or simply from parrot species to other parrot or bird species across seasons & smps (like last life).

i’m very ambivalent about assigning hybrid status to people who don’t have skins that make it very evident they’re some kind of animal/mob cross, but i do very much like wings and i think given grian’s history of bird-related pranks and fondness for flying, i can see where it came from... i’ve seen some of the elytra designs for all the hermits, though, and i loooove them, they’re so good. very fond.

the watchers have shown up in last life since evo (which i have now watched in its entirety; taurtis my beloved...), btw - watch inthelittlewood’s pov for more. they’re pretty unequivocally evil in that. and, i’d argue, they’re also pretty evil in evo. the only reason it gets overlooked is that like... grian is almost worse behaved lmaooo.

...someone remind me at some point, when i’m drowning in work a little less, to write a meta post about how c!grian is, in fact, kind of a Bad Person. especially in evo, where he kills and explodes and burns and traps and teases remorselessly, and generally without asking permission, and often taking it just a few feet over the too far line. and how that makes him more interesting to me, rather than less, this man who’s natural inclination is chaos and violence and explosions and an absence of natively-felt empathy, very carefully reining himself in for the sake of his friends, because he was told to, because they asked him to, because he cares about them and wants to be liked and accepted. and also makes me want to use him as the world’s featheriest football even more, rip.

Loving the concept of Tubbo and Scar having a tentative friendship arc as Tubbo learns more about Hermitcraft. I think Tubbo would find Scar to be trustworthy, perhaps even a bit familiar in a way?

(I find Scar’s mannerisms and humor to be somewhat similar to Ranboo’s. I imagine Tubbo feels drawn to Scar, but also a bit confused. He wonders how Scar ended up being the mayor at all? He certainly doesn’t act like a leader- at least, not the kind of leader Tubbo knows.)

I think that while it was all initially for the sake of an alliance between the two nations- and Tubbo still wonders what it is they see in his nation? Why does this grand and prosperous server want anything to do with his home? Surely they’ve heard about what happens on the Dream SMP- I think that Scar would end up wanting to get to actually know Tubbo. To know who Tubbo is. Not Mayor Tubbo of L’Manburg, not Tubbo, Ambassador of the Dream SMP, but Tubbo, the kid who’s seen way more than any kid should ever see. The kid who’s looked hell in the eyes and barely made it out alive.

But it’s not just that. Scar knows that this Tubbo kid has clearly gone though a lot, but he can also see so much more to him. Scar can see Tubbo’s muted passion for all the huge bases littered around Hermitcraft. He can see Tubbo’s curiosity about all the crazy farms and redstone contraptions that have become Scar’s day to day life. He thinks, maybe if Tubbo were a bit more comfortable here, then he would be able to really show his true colors.

I agree that Scar and Ranboo are actually kind of similar though I would have never thought of that on my own. In particular the way they do kind of lame pranks (like puns, like Scar naming his easter eggs and putting them in obvious places because it's funnier). Everyone likes to write stupid shit on signs and leave them at people's bases. It's like, the most harmless kind of prank and an easy way to break down the walls of the tense kid-ambassador. Also think Tubbo would be a fan of those pranks that require basically doing a whole build for the meme. Maybe not a huge perpetrator of them but he'd think they're neat.

The very first thing Scar thinks when he sees Tubbo is sad. Just everything about him is kind of sad, but he's on Hermitcraft now which means Hermit rules which means it's time to do something fun. Like, immediately. Anything at all to get this kid to look less miserable. Politicians golf, right? They don't have golf but they could go place some minigames! (Highly unsettling to Tubbo, by the way, but he would learn to love them once it was clear they weren't disguised death traps.)

Scar drags him a lot of places that an ambassador doesn't necessarily need to visit: basically every Hermit's base, every shop, some of the farms, and so on. A full tour! with souvenirs! (No contraband, though.) All in a loose attempt to get Tubbo to maybe not stick to the ambassador role so closely.

Sidenote: Doc and Tubbo would get on really well. I feel this in my bones. Tubbo would be really into Doc's game breaking stuff.

Note before going into this- I saw the-final-sif’s Convict Childcare au and please note that there is no correlation! I created this AU on the Rainy Weather discord server and only found the child care au today! However, it is really amazing and please please go check it out. I binged reading it all day and its so so good!!!

This is an Au where the events that led to Sam getting Michael happened a LOT sooner than planned. In his panic of not having anywhere to place Michael, Quackity comes up with the ‘brilliant’ plan of “Why don’t we put Michael in with Dream?”

Lets get into the Au then :D

-Dream is a Dragon Hybrid, specifically an Albino Ender Dragon. He used to have wings, however Sam cut them off after a month or two in the prison due to them being a ‘security risk’ and the amount of times Sam got hit by them. Now, most of his draconic traits are patches of scales, fanged teeth, horns, sharp nails and his vertical-slit pupils. He can also snarl, growl and purr but cannot breathe fire (well he can, but its a huge risk since it can burn him from the inside). He has a lot of draconic instincts as well, and falls into a more ‘feral’ state as his mental health decreases. 

-Michael is of course a baby zombie Piglin, and technically an ‘enemy’ to End Creatures. He used to be terrified of Ranboo when he first met him, but now he doesn’t have the instinct to be afraid of End-Born Creatures. He was found alone in the Nether Wastes by Tubbo and Ranboo, and loves his parents very much.  He cannot speak, both common and Piglin (he’s completely silent), but knows a few signs such as Food/Hungry, More, Tired and a few similar things just so he can start to communicate with his parents. Tubbo and Ranboo are learning to really understand sign first before they start really teaching Michael. 

-Sam originally had Michael in his base, however stuck between guarding the prison, letting Quackity in and out, potentially having to heal Dream and then having to also take care of a high needs child, found that it was much too difficult to juggle everything. Next he puts Michael in one of the jail cells, but then finds that Michael is not doing well since he is a Piglin and needs social interaction. That's when Quackity comes in and says “Why not shove him in with Dream?”

-Sam says no at first, deciding to put more focus on ‘caring’ for Michael, but finds himself growing increasingly frustrated. Michael is constantly terrified of him, crying a lot and Sam gets headaches every time he enters the cell. Then he thinks “Hey, if anything, Dream will kill Michael and put me out of my damn misery...and properly piss off a lot of the server since Michael is MUCH younger than Tommy”. He doesn’t even consider the idea of Dream actually liking Michael.

-About 3 weeks of Michael alone in the cell, he is then transferred to the main prison cell. 

-He is rightly terrified of Dream at first. He had no idea what to expect of this strange person who smelled of blood and stench, or what this person would want from him. So for the first few days, he’s keeping his distance despite shivering and craving contact. It isn’t until Dream makes the first move, asking him if he wants to come over to him with slightly opened arms that gets Michael to throw himself into his arms and being brought into a tight hug. 

-That’s the start of their bond. Dream is giving Michael most of his food, even if its barely enough to keep Dream functioning. Especially since they only seem to be getting a potato each and Dream is giving Michael half of his own potato. Dream keeps Michael warm, and tries his best to entertain him with stories of adventures when he was younger, or pretending to find shapes within the lava. Sometimes if Dream can find the strength to do so, he will sing Michael lullabies when he’s having trouble sleeping.

-Dream teaches Michael proper sign. Wanting to communicate with the little Piglin more now that he finally has company. He knows sign through both Callahan and a desire to be able to communicate with a lot of people (he knows quite a few languages and learning Spanish through the torture sessions with Quackity). Michael is a quick learner, and seems to take Dream’s teachings really well. 

-Once Michael asks what happened to Dream, but Dream just plays it off like “I got hurt, but I am okay now little one”

-Its about a month until Quackity decides he wants to return. Annoyed that Sam has been keeping him from Dream for so long, and says he can handle a stupid Piglin. Plus its just a kid, what could Michael do?

-So he returns, and immediately when Dream realizes as he hears Quackity’s voice, he tells him “We have a new game now, I want you to close your eyes and face that wall okay bud? Put your hands over your ears and I want you to count all the way to 100, if you mess up, start over okay?”

-Of course, Michael listens. He can hear Dream’s urgency, and does what he says. He keeps going, restarting since he still is so young and can barely get to 20 without messing up. He only stops when he feels Dream’s hand on his shoulder to which he opens his eyes and looks at Dream. There seems to be fresh wounds, and Michael can smell the pain radiating off of him. 

-Dream teaches Michael how to sign his name that day, as well as Ranboo’s and Tubbo’s name. Michael then spells out Dream’s name, before signing ‘family’ with a bright white smile. Dream just pulls him close. 

-Quackity comes back every day. Michael only looked back once, and wakes up with squealing nightmares when he dreams of Dream crying as Quackity sliced across his skin. 

-Dream stopped screaming or making noises. He knows that Michael knows something is wrong, but he refuses to let the kid know the extent. Quackity hates it, and deals his frustration out with more grueling and horrifying methods of torture. All to get Dream to scream. 

-Quackity once tried to target Michael. Grabbing him and bringing the knife to just garner some reaction out of Dream. This resulted with Dream’s hands around Quackity’s throat, his claws digging into his neck as he snarled and threatened “Don’t you EVER touch him again”. Sam had to rip Dream off of him and Michael went running to Dream who wrapped himself around him protectively. 

-Dream sometimes purrs when Michael is having a hard time calming down. Michael usually falls asleep when he does so.

Tailor!Reader in Dream SMP

Dsmp x reader prompt; Tailor!Reader in Dream SMP. Credit would be appreciated so more people can find this and make their own things based on it.

Can fully be read as platonic. GN!reader with they/them pronounce as a placeholder so anyone can adapt it however they want. Both general and character specific parts included.

Characters who have a lot written for/about; Eret, Ranboo, Foolish, Tommy, Technoblade, Philza and Michael. Mentioned; Tubbo, Sam Nook, Purpled and Foolish Jr.

This ended up being super long so I’m putting it under the cut in order not to clutter people’s pages. My personal favourite part is Phil’s and Techno’s part. These could be read as headcanons but are still available as a prompt(s) to use for anyone.

The reader joining after the doomsday as a time frame in my mind.

The reader helping people patch up their current clothes since most of it got pretty banged up during the doomsday, and it's not like they can just go get a new outfit since quite a few people had just lost all their belongings and only had the clothes on their back. So at first prioritizing helping patch up the current clothing people were wearing and then moving on to making some simple fast to make and easy on the resources clothes for people. Just like basic shirts and shorts/pants, nothing fancy. Then when everyone has at least a couple of different clothes to change to and from starting their own business to sell people more if they wanted. However waving payment if they brought them the materials and what they wanted wasn't overly complicated.

People at first thinking they are just some chump who knows basic sewing or something. A very kind chump, but still a chump. So imagine their surprise when one day they are just walking by the reader's now established tailors and they see these absolutely stunning designs displayed at the windows. 

Just like their reactions seeing these beautiful designs they can't help but stare at. I'd imagine some of them just doing a double take when they walk by, someone pressing their face up to the glass trying to see it closer, the braver ones going inside and talking to the reader about their designs and the more anxious and/or shy ones only going inside when the reader isn't there to look at designs closer. 

And the reasons they like/are amazed by the designs vary also ! Some just have monkey brain that goes "Pretty. WANT", some who just love the colour and art of the pieces, some who imagine how epic this design or others would look on them, some who love the fashion aspect of it and of course the very small portion who actually know anything about tailoring/sewing and the amount of work that goes into making something intricate.

Some specific character/group interactions I thought of;

Making warm well insulated clothes for people moving to Snowchester so they don't freeze. +A warm cape for Ranboo for the same reason.

Eret being one of the firsts (if not the first) to get himself a fully tailored and customized outfit. Them also being the first and very possibly only person to get a dress or a skirt since most of the other people on the server prefer to wear pants (excluding maid dresses which people might get as joke). The reader crying in joy for getting to design something different for once. And hey if the reader ends up making a few extra ones that she didn't order, but decided to give her anyway it was all just some extra ones they had lying around, never mind the fact that the dresses/skirts are perfectly tailored for Eret and are her style. Just a coincidence, nothing suspicious there. Eret also models for the reader and once he even convinced them to hold a fashion show to showcase some of their work to the whole server. Of course he was the main model presenting the outfits.

At start of the reader beginning to display their designs at their shop Ranboo sees a really cool looking suit on display and his brain just goes "Want." He probably wouldn't be able to buy anything pre-made and be comfortable in it due to his physique. And him having just moved into the arctic and only starting to get settled in, he doesn't have comfortable enough funds for him to get something as expensive as a custom tailored suit AND have enough for any possible rent that he might be required to pay. 

Eventually when he gets richer he starts considering getting one but the anxious side of him always ends up winning and he doesn't. However once he finally gets the courage to go commission the suit for himself he doesn't regret it at all. The reader did their best to not overwhelm him and to make it the best possible experience. Just imagining the absolute joy he would feel for having a properly fitting suit that's made just for him, not too short sleeves nor too wide torso and shoulders, just perfect. If he ends up ordering a couple more suits that's between him and the reader. He actually ends up probably being their most frequent and reliable customer.

And we should all know why that is, but let me clarify just in case; Michael.

The reader basically becoming Michael's personal stylist (/hj) . Not only does Ranboo buy a god awful amount of clothes for Michael, the reader also makes some free ones for him. The free ones are things the reader felt like designing since they absolutely adore Michael and the ones Ranboo pays for are commissioned by him. Michael absolutely has the biggest wardrobe in the whole server. The reader learning how to make plushies so Michael could have some more toys, this learning experience including learning to crochet and knit to see what he like best.

Using their newly acquired plush making skills, the reader starts their quest to make some plushies for others after seeing people stare at the plushies wistfully either while they were working on them or seeing Michael with the plushies. People who got them include the minors, their close friends and basically anyone they thought might benefit from them. Some of the ones they made (that I could think of);

Of course a bee for Tubbo, but also throwing in a little ram one as well

Ranboo gets a grass block plush/pillow

Tommy gets a cobblestone block plush and a cow plush. He also later receives a Sam Nook plush while he's working on the hotel

Purpled getting two different sized ufos, one to hold and the other more of a big pillow

Eret definitely gets a flamingo plush

Foolish gets a totem and a gold block plushies

Phil gets crow plush as well these tiny fake coin and gem plushies (the latter causes problems for him which I'll expand upon later)

Techno gets a pig one as well as polar bear one

Back to the individual/group part

The reader just chilling w/ Foolish as a fellow artists. Them talking about both their arts and catching up every time the reader comes to deliver something to Snowchester when Foolish is building the mansion. Just two pretty peaceful artists talking about their passions. I’d imagine Foolish and the reader could relate to each other and their place in the server due to their similar hobbies/jobs as well as their similar time of joining the server. Foolish's first commission from them being an intricate blanket for Foolish Jr so he could have a more comfortable resting place. He may or may not end up receiving that and several other (though less intricate) blankets as well as a tiny shark plush to give to Foolish Jr. Later on when the reader gets better at either knitting or crocheting they end up making a tiny shark jumper with a hood for Foolish Jr as well. Foolish would definitely cry when he sees his tiny shark baby. Any commissions of clothes for himself tend to always take some time due to sheer amount of work needing to be done due to his size so he always makes sure the reader doesn’t already have a lot on their plate and that they know he’s fine with waiting if they need to take a break from it.

Then there's Tommy, who they sometimes teach more about sewing since he already knows some basics. Him probably being the first person aside from Michael they make a plush for, due to him demanding one once he saw the reader making them. Then proceeding to get three plushies in rapid succession. The first being the cobblestone, the second being the cow and the third one being the Sam Nook one. He ends up losing one of them during the prison fiasco and when the reader asks if he'd like a new one they only get the answer of "Don't want to think about what happened and the same one might make me do that". He then promptly receives new clothing (so he isn't wearing the same ones he was wearing in prison) and some extra blankets (for comfort) from the reader. 

After Tommy meeting Michael does he use him to scam the reader to make them matching outfits for free? Yes, yes he does. Does it work? Yes, yes it does. Are they bothered by it? Not really, they look adorable in their matching outfits.

The reader being the source for Sam Nook's construction gear/clothes or at least the original patterns for them.

And then there's the arctic boys (minus Ranboo, who will still get mentioned) who are an interesting bunch clothing wise. The first one to commission the reader out of them would be Phil who got the original warm cape for Ranboo but also at the same time commissioned one for himself that would include slits for his wings. Eventually getting to design clothing for him which is always an exciting challenge with his wings. And when Phil finally manages to convince Techno to get something made for himself as well, Techno almost immediately gets addicted to having high quality clothing when they finish their first piece for him. The fun the reader has designing clothes for these boys is immeasurable with their different styles and needs in the clothing. Aside from clothing Techno also commissions them for a pet bed for Steve. 

When the boys got their plushies it was adorable but also a very chaotic. Techno giving his pig one to Steve so he wouldn't miss him when he was away from home, but also bringing the polar bear one with him when he couldn't or wasn't allowed to bring Steve with him but still needed comfort. While on Phil's side of things; he was showing his crows the crow plushie joking about he'll replace them if they aren't careful however he made the mistake of showing them the tiny coin and gem plushies as well. I want you to imagine hundreds of crows descending upon this poor fool of a man in the background while the reader is walking away hoping they like their plushies. 

The war that ensued the couple following days amongst the crows starts to cool down but the bickering doesn't, every waking moment Phil can feel eyes on him and one or more of the crows coming to complain about the others having had the shiny plushies for too long. He quickly caves under the pressure and commissions more of the tiny shiny treasure plushies. And by more I mean a lot more. 

When he finally has enough of the things he goes around distributing them to the crows. Finally a moment of peace, but he still feels like something is staring at him occasionally. Deciding to ignore it since it's finally quiet he goes to makes himself a cup of tea and while waiting for the water to boil he fishes out the few shiny plushies he had saved for himself. The second he does he feels eyes burning into him and now that it's quiet he hears it, quiet muffled snuffles and snorts of discontent. Then he sees what ‘it’ is, it's Techno behind the window looking at the shinies in his hand with such intensity Phil fears for his life (/hj). Phil just sighs deeply before walking over to the window and opening it. For a second Techno looks like a deer in headlights before returning to intensely staring at the shinies in Phil's hand before Phil just dumps the shiny plushies into Techno's hand and closes the window. Happy piglin noises can be heard outside while Phil debates the pros (getting to have shinies himself) and cons (the embarrassment of having to commission even more of the shiny plushies than he already has) of getting new ones from the reader. And in all this the reader has no idea the amount of chaos they inadvertently caused.

And finally; Techno commissioning robes/cloaks for whole the Syndicate to wear in their meetings, because he’s dramatic like that. But since he’s a thoughtful guy, he wants them all to fit the members well and not be uncomfortable to wear so he gets everyone’s measurements. Once he has them all he goes to the reader with the order for the robes, he has all the measurements written down under just Person 1, Person 2 etc. to keep their anonymity and when asked what the robes are for he just tells the reader it’s a book club. When he gets them all and the reader asks no further questions he thinks he’s gotten away with getting some cool robes for the Syndicate with their secrets safe. Little does he know the reader actually now knows all the members in the Syndicate since they can just reference the gotten measurements with everyone’s measurements written down from previous work done by them. Whether the reader thinks it’s some weird cult they all are a part of or just an actual book club people are too embarrassed to admit they are in, is up to interpretation.

Why I Believe Endersmile Is Canon

Because I’m on a bit of an Endersmile binge--

This is all gonna be very messy and just me putting my thoughts together and I’ll probably not be going through the VODs for exact timestamps or anything because that’s exhausting and I applaud the people who do, but here are my thoughts on Endersmile and why I’m 100% convinced it’s canon. They’re besties your honor.

/rp Any names mentioned are referring to their dsmp characters and not the streamers themselves unless specified

First off: The Disc. Dream trusts Ranboo, a lot. He trusts him so much that he literally gave Ranboo one of the two discs he needed to pull off his big plan at the finale. He trusted Ranboo, so much that Ranboo deciding to give the disc back to Tommy or Tubbo wasn’t an option, even though Ranboo was friends with both, which he knew. I don’t know why he gave Ranboo the disc, or how he got the disc from Skeppy in the first place, and I’m sure he did have a hundred and one back up plans for if Ranboo did decide to give Tommy the disc, but asking Ranboo to hold onto the disc in the first place means Dream trusted him to a degree, and that’s big coming from Mr. “Reserved”.

Second: Knowing Dream’s Voice. Ranboo knows/remembers Dream’s voice well enough that he hears it whenever he’s in the panic room, that his subconscious uses Dream’s voice to force Ranboo to confront his fears. For a guy who hasn’t had any one on one time or conversations with Dream in VC on stream, he sure does a really good job imagining his voice. /s 

Basically, they must have spoken, a lot. They must have spent time together outside planning for things or exchanging items or whatever. So much time, in fact, that Dream and Ranboo both end up sharing the same ideology of “People not sides” of “One big happy family” of “Being the person that stops conflicts” of “Being on all sides” of “Mediating between those sides” of “Choosing the side they think is right”. 

During Ranboo’s prison visit dream/nightmare, the Voice tells Ranboo that the only reason Ranboo hasn’t been hearing it lately, is because he hasn’t been speaking with Dream as often. That Ranboo and Dream had talked with each other nearly everyday. And I’m inclined to believe that because the mere existence of the voice proves he’s heard Dream’s voice a lot, or he has a very good memory of Dream’s voice, which, considering his memory problems probably isn’t the case. This is further supported by how ever since Dream’s been in prison, ever since Ranboo banned himself from the prison, he hasn’t heard even a hint of Dream’s voice, not even as he’s remembering more and more.

Third: The Disc War Finale. During the disc war finale, we have in universe proof and out of character confirmation from both cc!Dream and cc!Ranboo that the characters had been staring at each other during the entire thing. Some friends on a discord server have also pointed out how Ranboo appeared to be avoiding Tommy’s gaze unless Tommy’s distracted. And during the entire thing Ranboo’s the only one not holding out a weapon, instead he’s got a book and quill in his hand. We’ve now also got confirmation that Ranboo was Enderwalking during the Disc War Finale, which makes all the strange behaviors make sense because if they’re friends, if they’re allies, then Ranboo didn’t show up to fight Dream. Then Dream might’ve been trying to convey something to Ranboo, like perhaps trying to keep Ranboo from doing something stupid and revealing their alliance. Especially if he planned on being put in Pandora, he really doesn’t need his friend to try and “save” him and ruin the whole plan.

Fourth: The Voice. I am inclined to believe the things the voice says. Why? Because everything the voice is talking about are all the things Ranboo doesn’t want to confront, doesn’t want to see, doesn’t want to remember. The voice isn’t malicious. It’s not even Dream, it’s just using Dream’s voice to make Ranboo listen. And Ranboo knows it’s just himself. (also out of character confirmation from the cc!s that the voice is NOT Dream and never has been, it’s just a manifestation of all the shit Ranboo’s repressed coming up and slapping him in the face) Everything the voice does, all the things it says, is trying to get Ranboo to remember the “bad” things he’s done, to remember that he was on Dream’s side. To force him to face that side of himself that might be capable of doing bad things, if there’s a good enough reason. It exaggerates things, it makes them out to be worse than they actually are, but that’s how it’s able to get Ranboo’s attention, that’s how it’s able to force him to think about those things. Ranboo won’t do anything until he’s forced to face the problem, the Voice is just trying to get Ranboo to do that.

This is why I believe Ranboo DID blow up the community house. Why he’s working with or has worked for Dream in the past. Why he willingly gave Dream his memory book, possibly to create a visible conflict between them and ensure no one would connect them as allies, like what Dream wanted to do with Punz. And also because the other things it’s said, such as Ranboo being given the Cat disc to hold onto, have been proven to be true. Nothing the Voice has said has been confirmed a lie. And many of the things it’s talked about aren’t things we or Ranboo can find the answer to unless he talks to Dream, which is until the dude’s rescued from the prison, isn’t happening. (cc!Dream where’s your Dream lore?!?!?!)

That said, if Ranboo was the one to blow up the community house, then Dream was covering for him during the Disc War Finale. He didn’t have to. He could’ve thrown Ranboo under the bus. But he chose to take on that blame, make himself look even worse in the eyes of everyone gathered there while he was at their mercy, to protect Ranboo from similar persecution. Doesn’t this remind you of anything? And Ranboo’s got a track record of making friends with those who help him.

Fifth: The Visits. Ranboo has visited Dream in prison multiple times. At the very least at least 2 times that we have direct confirmation of, and probably even more. His visits are consistent enough that just a few days after Ranboo bans himself from the prison, Dream notices and starts a strike, tells Sapnap that Ranboo’s stopped visiting, asks him, his best friend who literally threatened to perma-kill him if he were to ever leave his horrible situation, to send a message to Ranboo. (which, I guess Dream still kinda trusts Sapnap despite everything that’s happened, huh?) 

Why would Ranboo visit? Unless they’re friends, unless they’re allies? Because even Dream’s so called best friend only ever visited once. Even Bad who Dream claims to have been the nicest only ever visited once. And while Tommy and Quackity visited more than once, their multiple visits have very clear reasons behind them, while Ranboo’s just, don’t. 

And consider: How did Ranboo know about the things that were said during the Disc War Finale, word for word, line for line, that he wasn’t present for, unless someone’s told him? Unless he heard about it from Dream himself. Unless that was what they were talking about. Unless that’s part of the reason Ranboo kept visiting Dream. 

Sixth: The Lessons. I don’t know about you, but giving life lessons to someone sounds like something you’d do with a friend, and not just a “puppet”. The whole lessons book gives off really mentor mentee vibes, and considering how Ranboo’s following in Dream’s goal of stopping conflict and uniting the server, well. And the lessons aren’t even malicious, or designed to push Ranboo away from others. In fact, many of them, especially the last few ones we see, are designed to protect Ranboo! Unless Ranboo’s safety was a top priority for Dream, there’s not much reason to pass those lessons down. This lines up incredibly well with Dream taking the blame of the community house’s destruction during the Disc War Finale, as well as his protective streak at his own expense when it comes to his allies and the people he cares about. Which means Ranboo is someone he cares about, which means they’re friends! They’re besties your honor!

Seventh: Ranboo’s Vehement Denial. Ranboo is infamous for being an unreliable narrator, for being in incredible denial despite all evidence supporting otherwise. Which means his vehement denial that Dream can be anything but bad is a fairly obvious red flag that that’s not true, and that Ranboo has reason to believe it’s not true, but chooses to actively ignore or forget those reasons and attempts to reinforce the “everything’s Dream’s fault, he can never change and will always be bad” mentality, that sounds like something he stole from Tommy or c!Dream antis, because he doesn’t want to face the fact that he has reasons for believing the opposite. At this point, I am 100% on board with the idea that all these unprompted instances of Dream hate is just a blatant cover up of how that’s not true at all. (Which he touches on, ever so briefly, when he renovates the second stronghold room)

Aaaaand that’s it! For the most part. I could touch on how Enderboo is hoarding all the backbone in this relationship and that the dynamic between Enderboo and Ranboo is closer to that of someone waking up after a sugar high or going for three days straight without sleep than it is two completely separate people or someone who’s literally sleepwalking (and that “Enderboo” is his normal state and “Ranboo” is the sleep deprived not thinking straight state). But this post is already obscenely long and I should end it here. 

TL;DR: They’re besties, your honor.
