27. Has someone ever written a song or poem for you?

YEAH LOL my high school boyfriend wrote me a poem after he realized iw as just biding my time to break up with him after the school year ended. it was so bad i still have it. it's so crucial you know we had never said we loved each other or had sex we had been dating for like. 3 months??? mostly just because i'd wanted a prom date lol. anyway here it is:

How was your Halloween? It was a lot of fun - Rita’s sister Torta invited us to her school’s college Halloween party so my orgmates and I planned a whole day/overnight stay at their place. I was Dora, Rita was Kuzco, Tina was Waldo, Blanch was Velma, Jum was Wednesday Addams, but I’ve forgotten what Laurice went as and I still can’t remember even when I’m looking at our old photos rn. The idea of going to Rita’s super exclusive super rich super old money village seemed a bit scary in the beginning skfkfhfg but she made us feel right at home immediately. When was the last time you skipped school? The one time I had to skip class because I was too late to enter anyway was for my PE class lasssst March, I’m guessing? It was either late Feb or early March. What color was the first pet you had? Orange. Have you ever had fake nails? No but I’ve lowkey been fascinated with them lately because of Kylie Jenner loooooool and want to try going to a nail salon to get fake nails. Like at least just for a day or two, just to get a verdict on them. How many vacations have you been on? We’ve had too many to count. I can try counting them but I’ll most likely miss several vacations... I’d say it’s in the 20-30 range, considering when my family started vacationing regularly and the fact that we travel 2-3 times a year.

Have you ever fallen asleep on the phone with the person you like? Yeah, until recently when I stopped having load to call her this is how I’d usually fall asleep. The white noise is soothing. Do you own/want a snuggie? Again, nope. When was the last time you went to a concert? August 2018. The show was actually scheduled for February 2018, but Hayley Williams got like a throat infection and it had to be moved. Which thankfully it was, because we only would have gotten older songs if the Feb show pushed through. Paramore didn’t release After Laughter till May that year. What did you do today? I consoled my girlfriend after she received some bad news, had a big brunch to celebrate my parents’ 23rd wedding anniversary, played Duolingo for a couple of hours, and now I’m helping Gab make a script in Tagalog heh. Do you know anyone who is a total health freak? I dunno anyone who’s an absolute health freak but I have a couple of friends who will order salads and smoothies from time to time. Who was the last person you met? The last new person I met was the eye doctor I had for my appointment. Would you rather save your best friend or your mother from dying? Hate these questions. What color is your mousepad? I haven’t used a mouse since high school. What was your favorite year of high school? Junior year was a lot of fun. It was the first time my circle of friends started to really grow and I finally felt like I belonged somewhere and I was just generally happier that school year. Current favorite song? Don’t have one at the moment. I’m super detached from music these days. Ever had a teacher call on you when they know you're not paying attention? Yeah just once, in Grade 4. I was in the middle of telling a joke and Katreen and I were snickering pretty distractingly at the back, so we rightfully got called out on it. After that I never wanted to not pay attention in class. Would you be more afraid of drowning or being buried alive? Buried alive. You have people thinking you’re dead, you’re locked in a coffin, in total darkness, and surrounded by worms and other creepy crawlies that live underground. I can’t think of a scarier, more claustrophobic scenario lol. Do you wear makeup every day? The complete opposite. Tell me about your boyfriend/girlfriend? :) She writes very well and I love her poems the most; she has an amazing radar for excellent TV series and films and is always accurate about which ones are bound for the Emmys/Oscars; she has random hobbies that pop up from time to time, including mastering the balisong and crocheting; she really loves Italian and Spanish food; and she can sometimes have an explosive temper. Have you ever gone to the ER for something that could have killed you? I didn’t have to be rushed to the ER for it but a low number of platelets isn’t absolutely fatal, as far as I know. All I remember is that I had a 40ºC fever but weirdly enough I felt very well, like I was able to walk myself to the school clinic and make jokes to my mom about going to the mall instead of resting. Should you really be doing something more productive right now? Yes, but shush. I really don’t feel like working on my thesis anytime soon. Do you like pulling all nighters just because? I don’t pull all nighters exactly but yeah, ‘just because’ is pretty much my reason for wanting to stay up till 3 or 4 AM most nights. Have you ever lived out of your car? No but I’ve done something that reminds me of it. In my first and second years of college when I didn’t have friends to see or places to hang at yet, I would stay in my car for all my naps, lunch breaks, class breaks, crying sessions, etc. How many closets are in your house? We have one in every bedroom, so that makes it four. Does your family own more than two houses? I wouldn’t say that. We have this house, and even though my mom still helps my grandma in paying for our old house, it’s wrong to claim it as ours. Have you ever eaten at Olive Garden? No...I don’t think I would be interested if given the chance either. Does your family vote on a lot of things? Not really. My dad has worked abroad for 20 years so he’s incredibly detached from national politics; my siblings are still too young for voter’s registration; and my mom only started voting again recently because I encouraged her to. Before the 2016 elections the last time she voted was back in 1992 if I remember right. Would you marry someone who could never have sex, for medical reasons? I’d be like 23% bummed but I imagine getting over it quickly and easily, so yes. I don’t really actively seek sex and I’m demi anyway, which is under the ace umbrella. What about someone who was guaranteed to die in five years? It’s gonna feel like the Hang the DJ episode of Black Mirror lmao but if our relationship proved to be very strong, then I would. Did you see Paranormal Activity? Yesssssss that was so much fun haha. I’m terrible with jump scares though so I haven’t seen the ending where she [spoiler alert] lunges towards the camera. Who was the last person you texted? I texted a promo code for my service provider hah. I don’t text anyone these days. Do you have a protective father/older brother? Yeah, my dad. Do you go out every weekend? Nope, I don’t really prefer to. My weekdays are usually very busy that I just want to do nothing by the time the weekend comes. Do you drink alcohol or do drugs? I drink sometimes and I guess you could say I take lighter drugs like caffeine, but that’s it. Does it snow a lot in the winter where you live? It does not snow here at all. Where do you go/want to go to college? I had always wanted to go to UP Diliman and fortunately I passed. Do you have any step parents? Nope. Does your cell phone have a full keyboard? It has a full touchscreen keyboard if that counts, lmao. Have you ever had a friend come over when you're sick? No but that’s also partly because I never get sick. Do you like cornbread? It’s okay, but I find it too dry. I’ll have it if it’s like a free appetizer or side dish, but I would never crave it. Do you know what year your mother was born in? 49 years ago. Have you ever been in an airplane? Sure. Is it really late at night right now? Not at all. It’s mid-afternoon.

Euphoria s1e4 review

*SPOILERS*

Holy hallelujah this episode was probably my favorite yet

And as I continue watching this, Zendaya never fails to surprise me. She is so phenomenal in this, i can barely take it.

I’ll review bait, but I’m still going to save the bulk for the min review at the end

Jules’ backstory

Starting at the beginning (because lord knows I’m going to skip around a lot), I am so happy they included Jules’ backstory. Mental institutions and self harm are subjects normally cringed away from in conversation, but to have it included in such a way that made it seem so real made me very happy. I hope more shows incorporate conversations about teenagers’ mental health, even if the conversation may be difficult to start

Cal, Nate, and Jules

What a train wreck lmao. I honestly forgot about Cal and how he’s Nate’s dad lmaoX2. But after i saw the encounter with him and Jules in the motel again, it made me realize how similar the father and son are. Nate had to learn about sex and what it is through his dad’s poem videos. Let that sink in for a second. That’s why Nate’s fucked up. Because he thinks sex is all about Dom/sub kinks and power, when that’s only a small portion of it. And you can see that when he choked Maddy and blackmailed Jules. I doubt this is going to be the last we see if Cal (if you watched the teaser for the next episode) even though Jules promised to keep her mouth away.

Rue and her maturity:

Rue finally got her head out of the gutter and realized she needs to kick this habit. And watching the worry in her face as Gia was stoned out of her mind?!?!?!? And Gia’s sudden change in demeanor at the mention of Rue’s OD had my heart breaking. And rue letting Jules into her house without any hesitation what do ever. Rue deeply cares about the people in her life, and she finally realized that she can’t have drugs and family. So rue chose mom and let go of her drug problem

Misc Characters:

Poor Kat, that’s all I have to say. She desperately craves validation, and she’ll do practically anything to get it, and that makes me really sad.

I think this is the first time I have ever felt bad for Maddy. In this episode, you really get to see her and Nate’s relationship. Really, you get to see the breaking points in their relationship: the abuse. Nate is the stereotypical abuser; he verbally and physically abuses Maddy, and when he’s done, he says “I’m so sorry baby” so like fuck off nate

PDA: DO NOT SNOOP ON SOMEONE ELSES PHONE WITHOUT THEIR PERMISSION IDC IF YOURE IN A REALTIONSHIP WITH. TRUST IS VERY IMPORTANT AND SNOOPING RUINS TRUST

I kind of felt bad for Cassie too because she was in a bad place to begin with at the start do the conversation. And then McKay was being a lowkey dick. but she did snort Molly so 🤷‍♀️

Ending

Nate sacred the shit out of me ngl. He was so demanding and had this “my way or the highway” mentality. The fear in both Maddy’s and Jules’ eyes were so real that I got the chills. I’m not going to be surprised if one night, Nate takes it too far and takes advantage of someone because he never understood the concept of “no” when it comes to sex

THAT FUCKING KISS WHAT DO I EVEN SAY

BECAUSE I GENUINELY LIKE THEIR FRIENDSHIP

BUT I WONT COMPLAIN IF THISE 2 START DATING

But on a serious note (kind of), I literally love how friendships are portrayed in this. It’s removable one of the realest aspects of the show. Like Cassie, Maddy, and Kat. There isn’t a queen bee out of the 3 at them, not you. Kat isn’t constantly trying to fit in with the skinny one sad, and Maddy. That’s how friendships ar these days and it’s great the shows are adapting too.

BRUH THE SOUNDTRACK WAS AWESOME IN THIS TOO. IT SET THE MOOD PERFECTLY AND I WAS ON THE WDGE OF MY SEAT EVERY TIME I WAS TENSE

Halsey && Matty

Okay, so this is going to be long so I’m going to put it under a read more BUT I just want to say that I don’t have sources for most of this because it’s from Halsey’s old tumblr that she deleted and other stuff (screenshots, pictures, etc.) I’ve had saved on my computer for agessss so I don’t remember where I originally got them. But also a lot of this stuff, like the lyric analysis, just came from my own brain and the fact that I’ve seen way too many interviews of the 1975.

SO first things first. Halsey and Matty were friends with benefits (NOT dating... just friends that hooked up a lot) for ?? a period of time. I’m not sure when it started or when it ended but I’m thinking it ended around 2014 based on when they stopped appearing in pictures together.

Halsey has written three songs that I am 100% certain are about Matty, and there’s two others that I think MIGHT be about him but I’m not certain.

Generally speaking, Halsey has said in interviews that Matty was a huge influence on her writing and even helped write some of her songs.

So the first song, and most damning one, is Colors.

“Your little brother never tells you but he loves you so. You said your mother only smiled on her TV show.”

This is obviously about Louis (Matty’s younger brother) who’s lowkey a shithead but I love him so much and Matty’s mum (aka my mum that I WORSHIP) Denise. Denise has had depression and she’s also on a soap so that’s where those lines come from.

“You’re only happy when your sorry head is filled with dope. I hope you make it to the day you’re 28 years old.”

I’m sure you know by now that Matty loves weed. But this was also written long before ILIWYS era so we all know that during that last stretch of touring Matty was just very unhealthy and unhappy and tired. (And I’m so glad that’s no longer the case.) The second part is because he was 25/26ish at the time and loads of famous people die of suicide/drug overdose at/before age 28. Matty gave her a slight dig on twitter on his 28th birthday which I made a post about here lol.

((Less obvious, more of an assumption, but I think the “tearing through the pages and the ink” has to do with the fact that matty’s always on that damn typewriter and typewriters can be very wasteful since if you mess up you have to start completely over hence the tearing through the pages and ink.))

“Everything was grey, his hair, his smoke his dreams and now he’s so devoid of colour he don’t know what it means.”

After the beloved undercut/side shave from circa Girls MV, Matty’s hair actually grew back in grey so that’s that part. His smoke, oh gee, does Matty smoke? I don’t think he does? (lol) And also I’m pretty sure the so devoid of colour thing is about the fact that Halsey was with Matty around the time that everything they did was in black and white.

“You were a vision in the morning when the light came through. I know I’ve only felt religion when I’ve lied with you.”

Later in this post I’m going to talk about the poems that she wrote about Matty on her old tumblr and she LOVES to talk about waking up in the morning with him. Like. LOVES to talk about that. Also y’all should know Matty is always calling sex the closest thing to religion he’s ever felt. (Also? Grammar question, does anyone know the answer? Is it supposed to be lied or laid? I think it’s supposed to be laid.)

“You’ll never be forgiven until your boys are too.”

Matty is extremely reliant on the boys (George, Adam, Ross) he can’t really do anything without them sort of thing here.

Okay now let’s talk about Strange Love. My analysis for this one isn’t as intense as Colors don’t worry haha.

Basically this entire song is about media being fascinated with Matty and how he’s a literal sex god. The whole “Everybody wants to know if we fucked on the bathroom sink, how your hands felt in my hair, etc. etc.” is about people wanting to know about their relationship as he gets more famous.

The most interesting part about this song though is the “We wrote a story in the fog on the window that night, but the ending is the same every damn time.”

Matty, for whatever reason, has a fascination with writing in fog. You see in in both The Sound and in the Somebody Else music videos.

I couldn��t find a gif of the part where Matty writes the rectangle on the car window in Somebody Else but he does it there too.

Halsey also talks about his fog writing obsession in one of her poems aka THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THING EVER WRITTEN and we’ll talk about that later don’t worry it’s coming.

The part about “the ending is the same every damn time” is how Halsey wanted their hook ups to end with something more, with a real relationship, but they never did.

So the last one I want to go into detail about is EXTREMELY important and that’s Is There Somewhere.

YALL THE WHOLE ROOM 93 EP IS ABOUT MATTY OKAY

So in the Room 93 Commentary Halsey talks about how the whole album is about a couple (her and Matty) in a hotel room “sharing a moment”. She says that “Is there somewhere you can meet me” was the text message frequently exchanged between her and the person the song is about (Matty) and how basically they always ended up meeting in a hotel room. Some other interview (don’t remember which one sorry guys) she says basically the same thing about the texts BUT she adds a super damning detail about how the texts were exchanged when “this person” (Matty) and her were both on tour and if they ever overlapped they’d send that text.

As for the song itself, it’s just... so obviously about Matty. Some very telling details are “dancing in your tube socks” and the part about his crooked teeth.

NOW THIS PART IS VERY IMPORTANT LIKE !!! PAY ATTENTION

“And I try to refrain but you're stuck in my brain and all I do is cry and complain because second's not the same.“

So right now you’re probably like ?? Halsey was a sidechick ?? Matty was cheating on someone??

NO (okay at least that’s not MY OPINION. Some people think he was cheating on Gemma with Halsey but I don’t have enough proof for that, and considering how crushed Matty was when he broke up with Gemma I really don’t think he would’ve cheated on her. Also I don’t think the timeline adds up (again, based on my research) I think Halsey came after Gemma, sort of as a placeholder for the loneliness he felt. WHICH i’ll talk about later.)

I think Halsey is referring to the fact that she’s second to the 1975. This period of Matty’s life right after the self titled came out and they started working on ILIWYS was HUGE for the band. More likely than not, he was putting most of his time and energy into the band and he wanted to focus on that more than on having a serious relationship. Halsey obviously wanted a serious relationship.

OKAY SO THIS IS WHERE WE GET INTO THE TUMBLR STUFF NOW

Basically Halsey gave herself away big time because she posted this picture on her tumblr and captioned it “93″. Girl.

BUT IT ONLY GETS BETTER FROM HERE. Halsey wrote SO MUCH poetry about him. Way too much for me to put all in this post but like, just for reference here’s two:

This one talks about how much she loves waking up with him in the morning (told yall). and obviously those DAMN CURLS.

and yeah this is also about him lmao matty damn that boy

As for THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THING EVER WRITTEn okay get ready because its a lot its super long but

I lost one here I must’ve deleted it accidentally a long time ago but I don’t know where to find it again :(

okay so

There’s a ton of religious metaphors, which is obviously such a Matty thing I mean, come on. She also mentions his black jeans, his staple back in the day, his socks are mentioned again, as is the whole window fog deal. She talks about drugs, sex, him being a fucking nerd with the way he talks AND the most interesting like “we fight about where the chord change should go” which is about him helping her write music, which she talked about on her tumblr as well (again, the tumblr is deleted and I don’t have a screenshot of that but I remember it) something like “Matty influenced so much of my writing”.

Okay, so the last thing we’re going to talk about now is something I haven’t ever seen anyone else mention but it’s just ?? so obvious to me ??

She’s American (in my educated opinion, this is all guessing) is about Halsey.

So, let’s start with one of the very first lines “Synthetic apparitions of not being lonely”

Y’all come on. This is about one-night stands. It’s something made up (synthetic) that only lasts for a short amount of time (apparition) and they make you feel less lonely, only for one night. Pretty sure this is about Halsey and their “is there somewhere” meetings. ALSO THIS IS WHY I don’t think Matty was dating Gemma at the time because he was LONELY whenever he was with Halsey. Also she said somewhere, I think in the same place where she mentioned Matty influencing her writing that they met up, while they were both on tour, to get rid of loneliness just for the night. (but the way she said it was so much more poetic than me lol)

EDIT;; this is what i was talking about with “simply a friend to fill a king sized bed”

The whole chorus is about how she doesn't see how there’s any issue with their relationship and is focusing on all the superficial aspects (them being socially relevant, his teeth). You can see this in real life as Halsey is at events constantly and the 1975 rarely are.

"She calls on the phone like the old days expecting the world.”

I’m 90% sure this is about Halsey hitting Matty with a “Is there somewhere you can meet me text.” within the last like two-three and he has to be like “We don’t do this anymore.”

Also, as far as I’M aware, Matty was never in a relationship (I.E. hooking up more than once) with someone that was American other than Halsey. Gemma was British and Taylor Swift DIDN’T HAPPEN GUYS.

Also New Americana was her most popular song at the time that ILIWYS was being written so.

Who is the most affectionate?I think they’re both pretty affectionate but show it differently. Yuri is the most physically affectionate, he’s always kissing Beka’s cheek or putting an arm around him (especially once he’s tall enough to effortlessly put his arms over otabek’s shoulders!) Otabek has quieter affection, and he’s sappy as fuck. He’s the type to gaze lovingly at Yuri, give flowers and write sappy poems at any given opportunity, he always tells Yuri how much he loves him in flowery language with obscure metaphors for yuri’s physical features. 1.do you prefer to shower when you wake up or before you go to sleep?. Can I have both? I like to shower in the morning because I can clean off any sweat I may have produced when I slept and it also helps me start my day. Before bed helps me unwind and clean off the germs of the day… but I may sweat in the middle of the night… hmmmmm I guess morning showers LOL

2. does it bother you to sleep with the lights on. Yes, I really cant sleep with any type of light in the room. I always find myself waking up if I see light.

The way I saw it was that twig representing a problem of any sort and the water being my conscious. Written sort of like a poem

“Just this once.” Henry sighed, clutching his boyfriend, Chad’s, hand. The two Only smiled because one another knew they’d gotten their own way. “It’s you. Every time we go to an adoption centre, we go for one and end up with like-” “You, babe. That’s you.” Chad smiled as Henry resisted. The couple walked in.

“Well hello y’all!” The perky assistant smiled. “Um, can we adopt?” Chad asked. If only her giggle hadn’t be so contagious then maybe Henry would have almost Left right that second. “Of course!” And she lead them to. They waved to Lauren, a young girl who was abandoned. “Now this is Emma! Our little star!”

“Kid,” Chad said, smiling at Emma, their new daughter. “We’ll give you a home! I promise.” Henry smiled at his boyfriend. It couldn’t have been anyone but her. Later that evening, they got some things for the new girl. Toys, bedding, lampshades, the essentials. And were prepared for the massive responsibility.

Most of the time, Henry and Chad’s relationship was in tact. But still, it wasn’t Every day that they went without arguing. As the relationship progressed

Nearly every day went with arguing. This was by the time Emma was 14. Okay, Henry was a teacher at Emma’s school and had to take some time. Whilst Chad went away on a buisness trip, the two bonded more. They were ok.

This fight him and Chad had had while Emma was at school left him drunk and unable to think straight. He clutched his cheek with a towel. His heart was still beating even though the incident happened 5 hours ago. He sat on the edge of his bed and looked in the mirror. Carefully removing the towel, he noticed it was purple with blood. He thought he couldn’t cry any more but that was a lie, His body had deceived them. He heard the door click open. “So you didn’t go to work...again!” Chad practically growled. “How was I supposed to explain this to my students, to Emma!” He whimpered. “I told you what to do. Because basically the school were aware of Charlotte’s pregnancy, anyways, they had to do emergency surgery or smth and the baby didn’t survive, so Charlotte told Sam and she began smacking her full on proper abuse so she told the school and I think the police were involved!” Emma rambled to Chad as she climbed in the front seat. “But hopefully Char will get better, she’s gotten skinnier, somehow, despite having the scars, probably how she’s wearing a shit ton of oversized clothing, bless her heart she’s so self conscious. Also I caught Bill and Ted kissing lmao.”

“That’s nice, dear.” Chad smiled. He was hiding his own pain. The pain of his red raw hand...

Henry ran to shut the door. Chad was out. “911 how can I help?” “Please I’m a victim of domestic abuse and I don’t know what to do anymore.” “Alright sir we’ll send some medics and the police over, address please, sir?” So he said his address. About 15 minutes later, there were medics checking him over in his bedroom and police refraining Chad from walking in. “Is my daughter out there?” One of the medics asked another, and the result came back negative. “Says she’s at a friends.” Henry nodded. That was a relief. “Don’t worry sir, you did the right thing letting us know. Chad Baker has been arrested and the court has been set for the 15th December so 1 month, is that alright sir?” He nodded.

Bandaged and bruised, 3 hours later, the door opened again and Henry jumped. “DAD IT’S ME, EMMA! WHY ARE THERE COP CARS OUT FRONT?” She shouted. The small echo of her dropping her bag on the ground and her footsteps walking up the stairs. He had to tell her. Emma was about to walk to he room when she caught sight of her father. Bandaged, bruised, red? “Dad?” She said, rushing in the room. “Dad what’s happened.” Henry moved over the bed to let Emma sit down. He faced her. “Your....well, Chad. He...Emma there’s no easy way of putting this, darling, he’s been hurting me a lot longer than you’ve known. Not mentally like you’ve thought. I’ve got to go to court on December 15th because he’s been charged for domestic abuse.” “NO!” “Emma, it’ll be alright, he’ll get thrown in jail-”

“Why didn’t you tell me!” Emma sobbed, her arms tightly around her father. “I could have tried to get help! I’ve had to help Charlotte, her boyfriend was abusing her because she miscarried, dad I’ve really needed you. Why didn’t I know about the own events of my own house?”

“You’d have been more hurt if you knew sooner, trust me.” henry sighed. He was dead thin, starved, dehydrated, pale, his hair was turning grey, and his eyes were shallow and dull. The bags under his eyes were a rich black and his ribs were showing, even through his shirt. “I’ll be back.” Emma said and ran out the room. Henry shook his head and let the other ‘Working Boys’ know about the events. They were all just as upset as Emma. Emma came back with a brown bag. “I got you groceries. And some extra things. I got you a mini healing kit. Also, this is Alexa, your personal home assistant. She’ll help around the lab when I’m not here.” Henry smiled and hugged Emma. If it wasn’t for those big blue eyes, he’d probably be dead by now.
