I would love for all three of the Lotus Princes to appear in S5, mostly cus I want Nezha to have to deal with his older brothers.
Muzha, the right-hand to Guanyin herself and Second Lotus Prince.
Jinzha, literal golden-boy to the Celestial Realm and the First Lotus Prince.
Cue them appearing on the scene and the three bros going full Huey, Dewey, and Louie on eachother. Like completely devolves into childish insults and roughhousing. They may be immortal, but they're still brothers.
Tumblr media
So it shocks everyone to see Tang is the only one able to wrangle them into behaving themselves. Must be the Golden Cicada energy. Or the dad energy, who knows.

Antonio:no, this is important information.
Nezha: And when I mean never die…I mean they’re like…alive alive…
Jinzha: Okay you lost me…
Nezha: You know how my body and maybe yours and Muzha’s and probably Dad is well…made of lotus?
Nezha: Yeah…when she died in the bed of roses, they couldn’t really heal her body…after all she fell of a cliff, they had to recreate it with flowers in order to mend her…
Erlang: So what you’re saying is…?
Nezha: She is the Flowers…no matter if her body is trapped in the Underworld as long as the Flowers are alive she can move…
Erlang: But if she’s been awake this whole time, why hasn’t she escaped?
Nezha: Because she doesn’t want to…

Twitter draw pile ✍️
I tried to figure the design of Ao Lie’s impulsive older sister (it’s said in lmk wiki that she’s the pearl holding Longnu, the longnu that follow Guanyin), along with Muzha and Jinzha (it would funny if Muzha got confused with Nezha for once)
Manifesting Red Son being autistic baby, Mei and Nezha dynamics, and also the fact that Nezha can secretly lift the staff :)

I just love drawing families of fictional characters, its interesting to think of how each sibling would look. I try to make them different from one another but at the same time maintain familial similarities.
Jinzha resembles their mom, Muzha their dad, and Nezha's a good mix of both.
Also get ready with some sibling dynamic rant, mostly relation HCs by me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Enough with the parent child dynamic
I want sibling dynamic. Where these three come to terms on what happened between them. Specifically Muzha and Nezha's interaction is the one I want to see.
Tbh those two's fates in the myth reminded me of Hyakkimaru and Tahomaru in Dororo.
Like Nezha and Muzha had so much potential to gain solidarity with each other. Because Jinzha could never relate to them as the ignored or unwanted child. Muzha has that middle child stuggle fr.
Tumblr media
Muzha is the one so eager to gain their fathers favor trying to meet Jinzha's level . Nezha wants nothing from his father so he makes himself worse.
Muzha's frustration with Nezha is that Nezha is rebellious, disrespectful of their dad
Tumblr media
While Nezha's frustration to Muzha is that Muzha is so blinded and always struggling to achieve something so futile. Deep down he hates how Muzha is suffering this way but he wouldnt speak of it. This is why they always at odds.
They should make a movie focusin the Li brothers fr
Other than overusing the actual myths.
Fuck the ending from the original myth, they didnt even consider how the children felt from all the abuse. Not even mention of Muzha's death.
Enough Ao Bing, what about Muzha???
And the moral lesson is just about "respecting elders"?? The story still had so much to wrap up. How can you call this a family if there is some sort of hierarchal system. A family requires empathy to maintain that connection.
Tbh its kinda realistic
Families and siblings can still inflict trauma from each other .And a story based on reconcilation is a good way for this to be about family counselling.
I wanna see the "what ifs". It could be each brothers own story of self healing from the trauma caused on each other.
Maybe Im getting my hopes up too much, but it could be a development for them to forgive, start anew and an opportunity to connect and catch up on what they missed on each other.
Edit:
As for Jinzha he also has his own struggles as the eldest. Keeping up the station as the golden favored and perfect son. But its Asian family dynamics, which means hes in a lot of pressure. But he is mentally and emotionally strong. The brothers always busy on his studies ,future responsibilities and training to be able to spend time together. Their timetables seemed to be planned out to always not meet. Jinzha especially had less freetime. And if he ever came across any of his brothers, it was only one of them never both.
He doesnt mind being a buffer for the other two feuding but it does stress him out that it will never change. But he'll make sure to give time and attention to both of them as much as he can.
Other than keeping up his fathers expectations he also doesnt want to fail as a big brother to them🥺😭
Muzha and Nezha can see his efforts so they do not dare hold anything against him. Muzha still keeps his competitive attitude when Jinzha's around but accepts any offered kindness from Jinzha. While Nezha enjoys his company when he gets the chance.
Tumblr media
Also because I tend to hold on to this little bit of bonding😭🥺🥺Jinzha trying to be the best big bro
Thinking of the contrast in the future where Jinzha was tasked to torture Nezha destroyed me😭😭😭What did Jinzha even feel while he had to do it??
Also here some Nezha with his hair down again

@lmkobsessedmoth Sorry for deleting your question but to answer your question. The rat(aka Li Yin) in the og au I still haven't made a proper name yet but I'll call it Syzygy au for now. Yes, she has a parent and they asked her to be created by Nuwa her family isn't her biological mother or father but the Qing accepted her with a warm hug. Skip the trauma, she was captured by a guy named Taiyi Zhenren who tried to teach her to harness her power but that failed, and because she ended up blinding a LOT of soldiers, led had no choice but to call Jinzha and made him the mentor for Li yin. Btw Jinzha was the one who healed those soldiers and here they are. She still has that golden band around her neck and two on her wings.

a part of me thinks that Nezha and Jinzi deserve to be together but another part of me thinks that Jinzi would have had to deal with Nezha's family and she only deserves happy things
Jinzha the favorite brother-in-law without a doubt?
So I don't know much about the parents so regarding their relationship towards Jῑnzi being their daughter-in-law is gonna be neutral. So long as the heavens and Wukong's family is happy with this, they'll live with her just fine.
The brothers, though. Oh boy.
Muzha isn't wasting a second to tell his new sister-in-law about what Nezha did in the past. Doesn't even matter if they're true or not, if Muzha gets the chance to slander his brother in any way he'll do it.
Tumblr media
I like to believe that Jinzha on the other hand is like the mother figure between the three boys, but he's still gonna embarrass his little brother because why not? Besides it's cute to see Nezha's old work and the joy he feels after seeing such immense progress afterwards.
Tumblr media
Also yes Jinzha is favourite in-law it was decided immediately-

This blog is meant to help circulate information about Li Nezha, but it has come to my attention not much is known of his brothers Muzha and Jinzha. Are they also topics people are interested in?

Are Jinzha and Muzha immortal and/or gods? Also, does Investiture Of The Gods influence any previous religious aspects although it's technically a novel too? Since Wukong ended gaining religious following
You always seem so well researched so my first instinct was asking these questions to you after they popped up
I do not consider myself an expert on Investiture of the Gods. I suggest contacting my friend Dr. Barbara Witt on Twitter (@sinolit).
But having said that, the characters you mentioned trained under divine holy men, thereby acquiring celestial power. South and East Asian religious traditions are full of people who gained divine powers through austerities, meditation, and (sometimes) magic medicines. They are sometimes called ṛṣi (ऋषि) or xiān (仙). According to the cosmic hierarchy of Journey to the West, the only thing that makes the latter group "gods" is if they are granted an official position in the heavenly hierarchy. For example, Sun Wukong is a xiān (i.e. immortal), and he technically becomes the god of horses when appointed the Keeper of the Heavenly Horse.
You might be interested in "Vernacular Fiction and the Transmission of Gods’ Cults in Later Imperial China", a paper by Dr. Meir Shahar. He reveals how Journey to the West and Investiture of the Gods served as sort of holy books for the gods/immortals associated with those story cycles.

Seria lindo que los hermanos de Nezha lo vean realmente crecer y aceptar su verdadera apariencia
Translated via google;
"It would be nice for Nezha's siblings to see him really grow up and accept his true appearance."
Jinzha and Muzha were a little scared the first time they saw Nezha's true form for the first time in centuries. The last time they saw it, they were throwing bricks at eachother and Nezha was trying to kill their dad. But seeing their little brother all shrunken into an oversized hoodie like he's a little kid again, it makes them sad that they never managed to experience Nezha growing up.
They start noticing a "change" in Nezha after the first few times they visit the noodle shop. Nezha's getting... taller???
Jinzha and Muzha freak out when they realise that all the parenting Nezha's getting from Wukong, Macaque, Tang, Pigsy, and Sandy is actually allowing him to grow physically. They're so excited that they almost tell their dad about it, but decide against it for Nezha's protection.
They def keep tabs on Nezha's growing height and milestones whenever they drop in. Wukong makes sure to tell the elder brothers all the embarassing puberty/teenager stuff Nezha is going through for the first time.
Wukong: "I managed to catch it on video, Nezha's voice is starting to crack." Jinzha & Muzha: "Aww!!" Nezha: "You share that with anyone else and you're [voice cracks] dead!" >:(
Ironically there's a chance of Nezha eventually growing taller than his older brothers. His lotus root-feet give him a boost.

Mathias:yeah your our third older brother.
Antonio:mhm.
Nezha:…
Nezha: Mei Gui’s prison is covered in flowers…
Jinzha: But Sun doesn’t reach the Diyu…
Nezha:…
Nezha: Mei Gui wasn’t always a demon…in fact she was from the Philippines…going by a different name. Maria Gonzales.
Jinzha: *Sigh* Nezha, please get to bed…you can’t spout this information-
Nezha: This is important, brother…
Nezha: Maria was punished by the Ancient gods of the Philippines for dishonoring her marriage, she died on a bed of roses, thus they turned her into a demon who could control flowers…and most of the time…they never died…

I'll do a Christmas Flowershoes story tomorrow so here's this
Kidnapped
3rd person pov:
Li Ning was in the shoe store working.
As he was about to close he saw smoke appear around him and the next thing he knows he has a bag over his head.
Still 3rd person pov:
Nezha and Mk are talking while eating some noodles until...
*CRASH*
A brick is sent flying through the window with a note attached to it.
"I SWEAR TO GOD IF IT'S THOSE SPEEDY PANDA FREAKS I SWEAR THAT'S THE SECOND TIME THEY BROKE MY WINDOW!!!"- Pigsy shouted as he picked up the brick.
"It's addressed to you Nezha"- Pigsy said as he handed Nezha the note.
"Huh? Who would send a letter to me like that?"- Nezha asked as they grabbed the letter.
The letter has TERRIBLE handwriting but Nezha was able to understand.
It read-
"Dear Mk and others
We have kidnapped you're friend with blue hair and glasses.
If you want him back YOU WON'T
-The golden silver demons-"
In red crayon....
"Mk who are the golden silver demons and what do the want with my boyfriend?"- Nezha asked confused.
"They're names are Jin and Yin and they always try to find away to defeat me but always fail and they're trickster demons but they don't know that he's you're lover so when you show up they'll probably surrender idk"- Mk answered knowing that they'll surrender once they the third lotus prince at their doorstep.
"Well then let's go save my boyfriend..."- Nezha said grabbing they're staff.
Li Ning pov:
"Where am I?"- Li Ning said as he started to wake up.
"You're in our lair..."- Two voices said coming from the middle of the room.
The lights turned on revealing two demons.
One had orange skin and gold hair.
And the other had blue skin and silver hair.
"Who are you?"- Li Ning said while struggling to untie himself from the chair he was tied to
"You're worst nightmare.Jin"- The Golden demon said.
"And Yin."-The Silver demon followed.
"THE GOLDEN SILVER DEMONS!"- They said in unison.
"Okay...?"- Li Ning questioned.
"So what are you guys gonna do with me torture me, hold me hostage."- Li Ning asked jokingly.
"Actually we're gonna hold you hostage."- Jin says with a wide grin across his face.
"Our plan is that when we kidnap you Mk will try to rescue you but we will lie saying that we will kill you and then he'll surrender and then he'll be vulnerable"- As Yin explains the plan Li Ning can feel the ground shaking and is wondering why?
*BOOM*
"WHO DARES KIDNAP MY LOVER!?"- Nezha busts in fully fired up with Mk behind him.
"P-p-pr-PRINCE NEZHA!?!?!"- Jin yells clearly scared for his life.
"Hi I'm also here."- Mk says holding his staff.
"WE ARE SOOOO SORRY WE DIDN'T KNOW HE WAS YOU'RE LOVER!"- Jin and Yin say on they're knees apologizing profusely.
"LEAVE OR I WILL HUNT YOU BOTH DOWN!"- Nezha exclaims holding they're staff tightly.
"AAAAAHHHHHH!!!!"- Both of them start running away for their life's.
"Wow that was so cool Nezha!"- Mk says with stars in his eyes.
"Oh it's just a little trick I learned from my brother. Jinzha"- Nezha says as he walks over to they're tied up boyfriend.
"Are you alright Li?"- Nezha asks.
"Yeah I'm fine just a bit scratched up but fine"- Li Ning says as Nezha starts to untie him
"Do want to go to Pigsy's Noodles with me and Mk?"- Nezha asks as they help Li Ning get up.
"Of course I'd love to!"- Li Ning says as he kisses Nezha's cheek.
"Well then c'mon you gays- I MEAN GUYS SORRY!"- Mk says as he follows behind them.
Let me know what you guys think.
Also I'll do a Christmas one tomorrow I promise

so i was rewatching the end of lmk s4 with some friends today, and i noticed that in 4x10 peng says smth to nezha like "let the demon child come out and play!" and like. if i knew more about nezha lore thatd probably be quite concerning to me as a lorehead. and you seem knowledgeable. so. any thoughts?
oh boy. (cracks knuckles) it's late and i should be sleeping but I'm also sad so Nezha interest go BRRRRR
i will say for any accurate/culturally referenced info, go check out @ruibaozha - i am simply summing up as much as i can and some stuff is missing/not elaborated on
let me break down the basic elements of the Nezha myths.
Nezha is born his mom and his military dad, Li Jing, and his older brothers Muzha (second) and Jinzha (first). but Nezha is like fucking. superpower baby for some reason? Apparently the heavens decided to bless Li Jing with a powerful son for his military prowess, and Nezha's mom, Lady Yin(?), was pregnant for 3+ years. Then Nezha popped out as a goddamn ball of flesh. His dad attacked him because hey! Flesh ball! But then Nezha's ball split open and he jumped out as an already formed young child (ages often unclear- ppl say he's 7, or 12, and in some cases he died after only 3 days(?) alive.) either way, Taiyi Zhenren swoops in to be Nezha's master, and everything is fine for some time.
at least til Nezha kills Ao Bing. this part of the myth is really what defines Nezha as a "demon child" or not. in Fengsheng Yanyi/Investiture of the Gods, ONE of the older/more well-known written versions of his story, Nezha washes his sash in the East Sea and causes the dragon palace to quake. Ao Guang understandably gets pissed and sends up his general to ask him to stop, who Nezha kills. then Ao Guang's 3rd son, Ao Bing, who Nezha also kills (and rips out his tendon to wear as a belt)! sometimes Nezha also kills a demon, apprentice of Lady Earth Flow, miles away on accident because he randomly fired a bow. yet in another cases, Nezha is the hero- a demon came up to eat children at the shore, and Nezha obviously killed the dude, then Ao Bing, same thing. but in other other versions, Nezha was friends with Bing and accidentally killed him while playing due to being ultra powerful...
and then Ao Guang threatens Nezha's town, because the kid killed his son. (sometimes Nezha goes and strangles Guang before he can talk to the Jade Emperor, so...) Guang demands an apology and/or Nezha's life or he'll flood the whole mountain pass. and Nezha decides to slit his own goddamn throat to apologize to his parents and "return his body to them". Aka: he commits suicide at like, seven(?)
From here on, stuff differs: Li Jing is a shitty dad (like he REALLY really hates Nezha. calls him a curse and beats him), Nezha gets a temple and Jing burns it down, Nezha gets reborn in a lotus body by his master and/or Buddha, goes on a murder rampage against his dad and Muzha (beats up Muzha w/ a golden brick), is forced to submit to his dad through a Golden Pagoda, making Li Jing the Golden Pagoda Bearing Li Jing, sometimes Jinzha gets to flog his brother, and Nezha's basically a bitter fire god (child) put into the literal armies of heaven. he's also got his 6/8-armed and 3-headed war form in the myths...
now, this is a very long yet still EXTREMELY short explanation of the myth(s), and the "message" really boils down to what version you tell- the boy who started stuff by (unintentionally) murdering people, or the hero. but a lot of the main point of nezha's myth was originally about filial piety, and can be told as a story to remind kids that the parents are always superior, but in more modern myths and stories, Nezha has ended up shifting more into a symbol of rebellion. He's the protection deity of children: the outcasts and the demon children, the kids who question things and are loud and outspoken and aren't what people (especially their parents) want them to be. Nezha's story entirely depends on region, context and intent, which makes him a very versatile figure.
Now, put that into LMK?
I have a lot of hcs abt why LMK Nezha is the way he is, but my main one comes down to that "demon child" line. I like to think that Nezha was basically an uncontrolled force of war power and killed Ao Bing (regardless of the situation).
But then he got put into heaven and 1. realized how he acted and had to deal with crushing guilt and self-hatred and 2. got groomed into a (then) child soldier 👍
He was still a general, but learned to channel all that destructive power into being a protector and how to defend instead (ex: his shields, sealing power, etc). He takes his current job very seriously bc he sees it as his only reason to still be worth existing. he also dislikes Wukong bc he sees far too much of a younger him in Wukong; doomed for destructiveness and chaos. this is also why i put parallels to Nezha and MK because. yeah. (and imo, although i know Nezha paid it back w/ his suicide, I'm a bit surprised Mei wasn't taught to hate him, due to how much family matters to dragons...)
so aka, my hc of: "dude was literally always seen as a demon child/symbol of destruction, and therefore after being used as a literal war weapon and then being made to guard a map for ages (probably because he didn't want to harm anyone else), DUDE'S GOT ISSUES!"
