idk if you venture onto the glee subreddit at all but theyre on some delusional shit today. Apparently there’s a demographic of “lesbian finchel shippers” (thats how theyre identifying themselves) that are anti-klaine. talking about klaine shouldve never been endgame. i’m not sure why they needed to point out that they were lesbians that ship finchel (though i suspect it has to do with the ideology of “i can’t be homophobic if i’m a lesbian — i just think klaine sucks <3”)

anyway that being said, klaine was and always will be endgame. they’ll always find their way back to each other and no temporary other partner is going suffice because ultimately, kurt and blaine will always be kurtandblaine.

out of all the breakups in the breakup episode finchel’s was beyond goofy. like klaine broke up bc blaine cheated and brittana broke up because of the distance but i didn’t even know finchel was still Together in that episode so how are they breaking up 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

So now that you already finished watching the first three seasons of BTVS + ATS episode 1.8... Bangel or Finchel?

Haha I find that comparison amusing. I'm not normally one for main couples so I get it.

Bangel, for sure. I wouldn't say I actively ship them but they're okay. They tug at the heartstrings when they need to, they're genuinely cute in the few moments they're allowed real joy and I buy it overall. There's melodrama, yeah, but the show itself parodies it well. It is a bit too melodramatic for me and Angel a bit too bland when he's entirely dependent on Buffy as a character but I am a sucker for real tragedies. They truly are star crossed in a way other couples WISH they were - or, perhaps, they really really don't. I thought the Angelus twist of s2 was a really good move. The only thing that felt cheap and made me root for them less was Angel's random return from hell. I get that they wanted that spinoff with Boreanaz and I'm expecting an actual explanation somewhere down the road. But it really cheapened the season 2 drama and Buffy's agony to just, take it back essentially. I also though I Will Remember You was an excellent episode of Angel and really made me feel for them.

Finchel, I started out neutral on but now I mostly just groan or roll my eyes at them. They're the main meant-to-be couple in a way I find way more tiresome than Bangel. Like I said it's not like I actively ship Bangel but I feel for their tragedy and see a life where they could have been good for each other. Finchel, I think brought out the worst in each other and were much better of as friends. Exes who realised that they outgrew each other - well, let's be honest, Rachel outgrew Finn.

Interested to know what inspired the comparison and question and, without spoilers for eps I haven't seen yet, your thoughts on Bangel. Or anyone's thoughts. Fandom experience tells me people probably by and large preferred Spuffy to Bangel by the end of the series but I have barely seen anything of Spuffy yet and idk how I'll feel.

The almost unaninmous hate against some characters is pretty off-putting to newcomers like me, like Schuster doesn't just have dubiously ethical behavior, no, he's the worst etc and I wonder if it's a product of the show being finished for about 7 years and thus fan opinions having become echo chambers, compounded with the fact that Glee recently saw a revival in fan interest (but as "this show is cringe and couldn't be made today") and thus, a few influential voices have more or less dictated which opinions were "the right ones to have" (not intentionally I presume). I don't know if it even qualifies as an opinion? But I'd be interested to see what you have in mind on that subject. TL;DR Glee's fandom seems very one-minded from where I stand.

More show-centered opinions: Kitty's personality change after season 4 was a good thing for the show. Hunter didn't have nearly enough screentime to be compelling in the way Sebastian could be. Okay, this is the last one (for now?): while I understand why Mike rejected Tina's proposal in season 6... I don't think that was a good plot element. The double marriage is already whimsical and by season 6, realism has long disappeared from the show. I'm sure people liked Tina and Mike together (I personally largely prefer them to Artina), so why not (from a Doylist standpoint) just make them get together soon? I think the "lesson" (Tina's too young to settle for Mike, with whom she doesn't have a strong enough relationship to marry right now) fails to work when Klaine and Brittana are just as young but still marry. Both couples do have a stronger relationship than Tike but that's partly because Tike rarely had screentime.

I don't know, it just feels hypocritical of the show to be against Finchel marrying because they're young, but then going through it for Brittana and Klaine, but still not going through it for Tike.

Yeah, I mean, I’m all for having different opinions, but sometimes it feels like certain opinions aren’t actually believed and just ‘the right opinion’ to have.

Like, with Mr Schue, look, I’ve joked about him being the worst, but obviously he’s not actually Satan himself or anything of the sort. And even if he was? He is a fictional character. Like him as much as you want. Same with Rachel, Finn, Ryder, Puck, Kitty, etc, or basically any character widely disliked. The hate for characters is kinda off-putting and makes it feel like less people are genuinely believing it and more like they are just ‘following the leader’ (Which am I guilty of helping? Probably)

I love Kitty, and I love her personality change to try and become a better person. Obviously they should’ve given her a better arc along with the personality change, but yeah, def a good thing, IMO.

I can’t lie. I honestly don’t care enough about the Warblers to even remember who Hunter is half the time 💀. But, yeah, they didn’t give him enough screen time, so obviously he couldn’t be as compelling as Sebastian in the first place. Though, I disagree because I just don’t see Hunter being a compelling villain at all. Like, just use Sebastian? Ik he had a ‘redemption arc’ but IMO they should’ve kept him as a villain.

Yeah, I’m a big Tartie fan so I’m glad that they were endgame instead of Tike (which I’m mainly neutral on). But as a plot? There’s really no reason why Mike shouldn’t have said yes, because the lesson is essentially Mike rejects Tina’s proposal because they’re too young to get married…while they’re at a double wedding…with all couples the same age as them 💀💀. Honestly, just cut it out. What was the purpose of it other than to show Tina getting humiliated once again?

Unfortunately I'm not a huge Finchel shipper just bc I feel like there were many times throughout the show when the relationship had run it's course and the characters should have moved on. BUT I think they have some really sweet and funny moments and I still enjoying seeing them interact in earlier seasons!

Hi I just want to say that your everlark fics changed my life, seriously. Have Heart, My Dear absolutely devastated me, but I love it so much. It will forever live rent free in my mind, for better or for worse idk because that fic had me terrified and crying lol by the end of chapter 1. But you have such a way with words I can’t help but go back to read the happier moments. All of your everlark fics are prime. I’ve discovered these fics nearly a decade after it was published, but it’s funny because I had actually read your Finchel fanfiction all those years ago and loved it. I was more involved in the Glee fandom than Hunger Games and it’s nice to look back when Finchel was loved because they are so hated/criticized nowadays. It’s understandable but they will always have a special place in my heart. I’m rambling now lol but anyway I never read any everlark fanfiction until last year, and yours are some of the best. OMG YESSS I LOVE SCREAM AUS FOR ANYTHING. they’re so fun. i talked a lot so i’m putting it under a read more just in case!!

okay my favorite scream movie is scream 5 so it’s primarily inspired by that one (i’m sure you can guess why. my tamber phase was so insane. i love lesbians). it’s not exactly alike but that was my main starting point for this au LOL

anyway so. the main cast/relationships for this au are: quinn & santana (best friends.. kind of), rachel & finn (dating), brittany (dating santana ofc), mercedes & sam (both single! but mercedes kinda likes quinn and sam??? idk yet), and i’m thinking like. i wanna include tina, puck, and artie. i just haven’t really figured out exactly how they’ll be in it/what their roles will be 💀 but i do know that artie def has a crush on brittany? he’d be kind of like wes but less weird because him and puck have some straight boy yaoi situation going on icl. And then obviously klaine!!! is there too 🫵

sooo for quinn & santana i think they’d be the ghostfaces!! and honestly as a duo, i think they’d balance the kill/call life because they’re both very skilled in both departments if that makes sense. like i think it’d mostly come down to whether or not one of them have more of a problem with their victim or not, because otherwise i think quinn would prefer phone calls whereas santana would prefer handling the kills. they’re best friends in this universe as well, but they’re similar to mindy and amber in my eyes where they kinda act like they hate each other/they argue a lot (just as quinntana does in the show 😭 you know) but everyone knows they’re just messing around and simply have diff view points etc etc. they fake accuse each other a lot to solidify that they don’t even trust anybody much less e/o (even though it’s THEM. you know.) so that they seem wayyy less guilty than they really are. basic stuff. also brittany’s another ghostface i forgot to mention but mostly i think she’d be like back-up. like she’d keep watch kind of. does that make sense. the whole 3 ghostface thing always has that one fake-out ghostface that ends up ACTUALLY being a ghostface too and it confuses everybody. so that’s basically what she is here.

(oh also i debated on having one of the ghostfaces be mercedes but i think she’d fit more of a tatum type of character. but she’d survive is the thing LOL.)

ive deliberated over a lot of different options but i think rachel would be the opening kill (quinn’s work 💕💘💗) and then of course finn. like at the same time. probably because they were hanging out together.

thennnn everyone would be on edge! quinn would be picking fights with santana now, but just little things. like “how do we know what you were doing last night? we all know how you felt about them both…” to which santana would defend herself with stuff like “you’re one to talk. you didn’t like them either, so how do i know you’re not just pushing the blame onto me?” etc etc stuff like that. brittany would try to stop their argumentss. typical unholy trinity dynamic. blaine would be super anxious about everybody and kurt would be suspicious of people, tina would be really scared and honestly just try to get away from all of it and mercedes would try and stay level-headed about everything but protect herself especially too. (and she’d be concerned about quinn). puck’s the biggest suspect because he’s puck and everything about that is suspicious xx. and artie is there but i haven’t figured out his deal i think he’d be freaked out and sorta just leave the whole group like give up on all of them which may result in him being the second kill actually. because he does what you’re not meant to do: Go Be Alone.

(and since artie kinda likes brittany and he’s sort of in wes’s position in the fifth movie, the second kill result for him kinda makes sense to me)

after finchel and artie are gone i thiiink puck for sure is the biggest suspect. there’s a memorial party for artie obviously and puck’s throwing it 🫵 which doesn’t really help anybody believe that he didn’t do it. and he’s also just being stupid like girl.

once it’s the whole party thing , i think kurt and blaine would go outside and try and chill and then get attacked (killed? unsure guys.), party’s still going on but mercedes noticed that some people are missing so she just tells quinn and then quinn’s faux scared. tells sam probably and sam goes out looking for klaine cause they’re all besties #kublam) and the rest after this i’m still trying to figure out

honestly that’s all i think would happen so far i hope it makes sense?? i had some other ideas but NGL i’m blanking sooooo. anyway. if you have any questions let me know because i do have a vague idea/main points for parts of the story (even ones i didn’t mention) sooo yeah.! i hope you think this glee scream au is cool too:)

Glee Musical Retrospective: Hell-O Extras

Don't Rain on My Parade (Instrumental)

I couldn't find the actual scene - but I found this really fun karaoke version in case you guys wanna play at home ;)

Anyway... this song plays in the background of the opening scene when Rachel, Mercedes, and Kurt are all walking in the hallway. It's the only song that isn't related to the word 'hell' and is really a nod to the previous group of episodes, their sectionals win, and the fact that Rachel believes she's now a star -- her own triumphant music playing in her head. Of course that all comes crashing down as they get slushied, but it's a nice opening touch.

It's also quite the energetic and provocative piece even without the vocals and gives the reentrance of the show some oomph. I recommend taking a moment and just singing it for yourself! ;)

Hello, Again

Will and Emma dance to Neil Diamond's Hello, Again. I find it kind of interesting that they didn't let Will sing this to her -- and for that matter, Will (and Emma) don't have any songs to sing together this episode -- which shows the departure of the story from the adult world.

I think this is a really nice song for them, though. The lyrics reflect a man who's happy to be in the arms of his love and friend -- and the scene kind of does the meta'ing for you, actually. It's gentle and calm and kind of reflects the friends-turned-lovers relationship that Will and Emma have taken. Plus, the dancing together is somewhat reminiscent of those old school romantic films.

What I don't totally buy is that it's Will and Terri's prom song. Not only do I not buy that teens in the mid-90s would be into Neil Diamond, but I'd bet Terri would be much more vocal and dominating about that kinda thing. But it does very much reflect Will and his personality, so who knows.

I do think it reflects that the writers often write Will as being much older than he actually is -- since a lot of their choices often reflect someone who grew up in the late 80s. But I digress...

Oh my gosh, this scene.... lol

I can see why they cut it. I mean, it was probably for time more than anything, but I feel like this whole sequence really highlights how Rachel and Jesse 'get' each other. It might also be a lot -- too much too fast, especially when Finchel was a tirelessly slow burn over the previous 13 episodes -- so it's a bit head spinning.

But I do like the scene overall. The song is about growing up -- and discovering your sexuality -- though in the most theater kid way (which makes it kind of funny, tbh). And it's interesting to me -- that while Finn was the subject of Rachel's idolatry, Jesse is a very realized romantic partner for her. And I wonder if one reason they cut it is that it undermines the overall Finchel story when Rachel and Jesse click in a way that Rachel and Finn never have.

(I also wonder if this scene is too similar -- though in a more childish way - to the upcoming Like A Virgin montage that will be coming in the next episode - another reason they probably cut it.)

Anyway, the song is cute, but is a minor inlay of the major fabric of the St. Berry romance.

Bem Vindo a Portugal!

Kurt is not looking forward to leaving Blaine behind when he leaves for college. Luckily, they still have the entire summer to look forward to, including a vacation at the Berrys’ villa in the south of Portugal.

I originally had a completely different (and much longer) story planned, but then life happened and I had to change pretty much everything besides the basic concept of a Klaine and Finchel summer vacation lol

This fic is set in one of my most favouritest and awesomest places in the world, the Portuguese Algarve. I love it there so much and I can't wait till I can go back there again. Top Cliff Villa is a real place where I actually stayed a few years ago. I highly recommend clicking on the link and checking out the photos, because my descriptions really don't do justice to the gorgeousness of it all =) ♡
