Researching all this has really made it plain that 2019 was the year Jimin and Jungkook seemed to be taking a stand: “it’s not realistic to expect us to be conscientious and modify our behavior just because a camera is present. The camera is there to document us while we are being us, so throwing the burden on you, camera person/editor, to cut out what shouldn’t be shown...good luck and may the odds be ever in your favor...”

It didn’t seem like they were being very conscientious about hiding from anyone. I don’t know how much more we did not see but damn...they were wilding. Cameras, cameras everywhere, all the time...it appeared they chose to ignore the consequences. 

So taking that into consideration, here we go:

Jan. 5, 2019: The Golden Disc Awards. During this awards show, BTS performed Fake Love and Idol. They won Album of the Year for Love Yourself: Answer. During the show, fancams spotted Jungkook leaving their seats in the audience to go backstage with Jimin following close behind. Speculation was JK wasn’t feeling good.

Jan. 15, 2019: Seoul Music Awards. Kookie still wasn’t feeling well. He stumbled once on the stage and his face looked very pale. Jimin keeping an eye on him the whole time.

Jan. 19, 2019: Jimin consoling Jungkook when he didn’t perform well on stage.

Throughout the first four months of 2019, Jimin and Jungkook seemed as close as ever, always together, always interacting, coming and going in the same car, watching each other, sitting next to each other, saying things to each other and about each other and doing stuff makes it obvious they are together A LOT. 

The Love Yourself World Tour began in August 2018 and was extended with the Speak Yourself additional dates totalling 62 dates that took BTS around the world. That tour ended on October 29, 2019. It would be the largest tour BTS has ever done and also the last world tour they would do before the pandemic. 

May 5-6, 2019: The first dates of the Love Yourself/Speak Yourself Tour extension were in Pasadena, California at the Rosebowl Stadium. During the ending ments of the May 5 show, Jimin became emotional and Jungkook spontaneously did this:

This moment was pivotal in that we see someone’s body parts enter someone else’s mouth cavity. It was amazing. That statement sounded like I was describing sex but it was just Jimin’s ear in between Jungkook’s droolly lips in front of over 60,000 people. Did I mention there was saliva involved? It may as well have been a sexual act, the way WE reacted. 

And their big emotional smiles. And Jimin’s tears. And Jungkook enveloping Jimin’s whole body with his own. And Jungkook saying “I love you” several times...to Army and to Jimin.

And us wanting to look but not look. It was the most spontaneous, non-bro, omfg, jaw dropping, unbelievable thing they did up until now. Definitely a non-bro thing. Definitely a non-hetero thing. The only reason a heterosexual man would put the ear of another man in their mouth is to bite it off during a fist-fight. Or maybe they are just eccentric and like to perform extremely eccentric behavior in public? No. Jimin’s intense reaction speaks volumes.

Shortly after that, when they are in a New Jersey hotel room, we get this...

This whole V Live...gives new meaning to GO GET A HOTEL ROOM FOR GOD’S SAKES... except they were already in a hotel room!...the V Live fiasco where Jungkook tries to conduct a “revenge” V Live for being excluded from Jimin and Jin’s V Live, only for it to totally backfire. We see a reprimanded Jimin sitting meekly on the edge of the bed and a smug Jungkook. Except it quickly falls apart within minutes. Exactly who is the dom and who is the sub here? We don’t know, we just watch with our jaws on the ground and pretend we are misinterpreting what’s going on ...V Live May 18, 2019:

Let’s take a collective deep breath here because they left us breathless and it’s only May.

And when allowing us to indulge in voyeurism isn’t enough, they do stuff and the other members point out the obvious to us... Are you two a couple? Why yes, yes we are (their giggles omfg) Our jaws are getting used to hitting the floor by now and we’re barely halfway through the year...June 2019 Run BTS ep. 77:

We lost JK staring at Jimin while he was on his knees blowing on a blow pen... I looked on the table to see if there were napkins Namjoon could use to wipe the drool off JK’s chin. The fact Joon made three attempts to get JK’s attention...WHAT GOES THROUGH THEIR MINDS???? HIDE WHAT??? FUCK THAT! IT’S RIGHT HERE! JUST LOOK AT THEM!!!

October 2019: The last dates of the Love Yourself/Speak Yourself tour in Seoul. Jimin and Jungkook were just living their best lives. The highlights can be viewed here.

Those were just a few of the instances where Jimin and Jungkook made all of us feel like we needed to give them some privacy. 

2019 was something else. Good for them. They were constantly in each other’s orbit, there’s no denying it. There’s just too much there to see for anyone to deny that something was going on. I think Jimin and Jungkook sealed the deal at some point during those 13 months, most likely some time in 2019. Whatever it is that describes their relationship, it culminated during the Love Yourself Tour. The constant travel, being away from home, they only had each other, the members and their staff supporting them during those seemingly endless days.

1. Actually look up what that phrase means

2. Actually look up how artists are getting absolutely screwed by venues, Spotify, LiveNation, Ticketmaster, record companies, and so on

3. Stop assuming every musician has got Beyonce money. Most do touring to just to barely scrape by.

4. Stop expecting Vessel to provide you with answers about the Lore when the Lore is like 98% fan-developed. Behind all of these songs and the imagery and the mask is a real person talking about the pain he has gone through in his personal life. The Lore is just a fun diversion and a way to let us connect with what he says in our own way.

5. Go listen to Tool's Hooker With a Penis and by all means don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.

On this day, June 2

In 2022: My Chemical Romance performed their twelfth show of the 2022-2023 Swarm tour in Rotterdam, Netherlands. This show was the only one of the tour to feature a short video of the band making pancakes, played immediately before "The Foundations of Decay". At this show, "HAPPY HALLOWEEN" was written on the drums. (🖤)
