Back to that thread from months ago about Ripred and Gregor's dad being pen pals spiraling into having family dinner.

If they had family dinner with Ripred, they HAVE to with Ares. He's LITERALLY legally a part of their family and Gregor's brother.

Gregor's family actually getting to meet Ares.

Oh my gosh! Yes!

I’m just imagining Gregor’s mom trying to get her head around Ares and Gregor’s relationship with the whole bonds thing. Like, is he technically her son in law? Or her bond in law? Is that a thing??

And Ares trying to be on his best behaviour for the occasion (Ripred totally tries to sabotage that) because he wants to make good impression. Trying to remember everything Gregor has ever said about his family in order to piece together who is who and what conversation is appropriate. He’s vaguely aware Gregor has a grandma? Or is she the lady from downstairs... He doesn’t want to mess this up!

feng xin and mu qing are making me feel insane. every time they are in a scene together it’s about them. the tension between them is more potent than any romance it is a character unto itself. they never even fell out directly. they have never talked about it. they are working side-by-side in the job they dreamed about while growing up together. losing the friendship is still so raw that they cannot have a civil conversation. it has been seven hundred years of peacetime and they still have to be placed on opposite ends of the room at every social event. the moment xie lian is back both of them show up at his sides and fall back into their old bickering dynamic. and don’t confront the other about it despite their shitty disguises. after 700 years of not speaking. can you begin to imagine how much love is there. how much grief. jesus fucking christ.

A cat sits alone in the cemetery

Inspired by @circuscountdowns's bishop death comic.

cw: grief, slow mental deterioration by way of immortality

Mortal minds were not meant to live forever. Not alone.

It’s the middle of the night and they kneel before the grave. In one of their hands they grip a shovel that had been gifted to them a long time ago. At the base of the handle is an engraving that matches the stone crown on the gravestone.

There is a pendant on their chest, and it gleams gold in the moonlight.

They close their eyes, and breathe. Out slow, in slow.

Camellias smell like sugar and dirt, like three thousand years of longing. The flowers on this grave are always fresh. always redder than blood, even in the winter, when every other plant on cult grounds wilts and turns bare and hibernates. The camellias on his grave are always there, always beautiful. One might call them blessed.

They are not afraid of dying—they are devoted to Death. They simply cannot die yet. Their Gods and leaders need them. The rest of the flock needs their wisdom. Someone who can speak to them as an equal, but who knows more and has seen more than the rest.

Mortal minds were not meant to live forever, but they’re still doing pretty well. They lose days or weeks sometimes, but it’s not a problem yet. They suspect it’ll take another five thousand or so before their mind becomes a problem, assuming something else doesn’t kill them first.

So, they cannot leave. Not of their own accord. They have no need to.

They want to stay, to be content with the impossible life they live, but something is missing. They’ve been missing the sandpaper edges of his voice for the last few centuries. They’ve been yearning for the feel of his fur on their own—green and yellow, a sunbeam shining over a bed of moss.

He left them. They agreed to it. He was tired. They understood, or thought they did. They were with him for the rest of his life, and they loved him, and he died, in the end, like a mortal, but his heart was full, and when he was gone for good, they realized that their heart had gone with him. Stolen in a final prank.

At first they figured the pain would lie in the loss itself, but true moments of pain were every time they would forget that he was gone. It was every time they would look beside them, to whisper to him something that he would yell aloud to embarrass them both, only to find no one was there. It was every odd hole in the ground that they would feel the urge to crouch down beside, to talk to him, coax him out, before someone would ask what they were doing and they would remember that he wasn't there. It was every time they remembered that holes in the ground were for plants, and not Gods.

He would be severely annoyed to see them do anything but smile, but it was getting hard to smile without him.

And, and he would want this, wouldn’t he? Even if getting woken back up annoyed him at first.

His After was probably boring without them.

He'd think it was funny.

He’d grin impossibly wide and say, “ABOUT TIME YOU DID SOMETHING SELFISH.”

They stare at the old stone. The crown of the God of Chaos stares back. It's only another life. He won't even have to put on a necklace this time around.

Mortal minds were not meant to live forever. Not alone.

So, they stand and lurch forward. They take the shovel into both their hands, and they drive it like a spear into the dirt, into Leshy's grave.

They don’t know how the ritual works, but they know they’ll need his bones for it. They'll figure the rest out later.

i just. remembered again that i have a fembaru fic but also the premise is. Very Messed Up hah and also it was written before the canon genderbent au with its official genderbend names for everyone so its also outdated on top of that T^T i had like. Genderqueer subtext going on too. but i also wrote this fic like almost two years ago and havent touched it in forever so im unsure if i should go back to it…. o.o but i would love to finish it one day if only for my own satisfaction hah… i had a very detailed outline for ch 2 (its a twoshot) and several scenes written already anyway!! (and also i would probably update those names, make minor edits, etc etc hmm…)

#just thinking about this wip again………… mmmm….. not super confident in my older ao3 fics but the premise for this one was like. i think i #ended up brainstorming it with a friend or two and then i was like wait holy shit howd this play out. and then i took about two weeks to #write ch1? :o #and then i like. Okay here me out, to go with your tiny sea critter sun, moon is either a gigantic kraken or a tiny male anglerfish. Thoughts?

OOOoooh, I love these ideas. Originally I was thinking giant manta ray but the male anglerfish is such a good parallel for my sea butterfly boy??? The fact that they only get to be a couple inches long and they’re basically parasites that latch onto female anglers with their teeth and stay there for the rest of their lives??? That so cool???? (Not that cool for lady anglers tho rip) There’s so much room to play around with that, what a cool suggestion, thank you!!

I may end up making multiple designs for the boys because I really like my tiny sun and I want to make a little moon to go with him but I also want to make some larger sea monster type designs too so hhhh

hello hello!!

just about had an aneurysm watching my tv show today…

i’m sitting here chilling and watching lucifer (because i am determined to finish this damn show i’ve been through the ringer with it- started watching when it aired, then it got cancelled, then got picked up by netflix, then cancelled again, and then revived jfc)

anyways. watching lucifer. kind of spaced out. next thing i know the suspect is a former military guy, specializing in long range marksmanship, spent time in mexico trying to take down the cartel, and was known colloquially as “the ghost”

now i still know next to nothing about cod (may start looking for some play throughs, it looks fun!) but i do know about ghost and soap and hearing that come up in my show just about broke me 😂 like what are the odds of that???

anyways. i hope you are as entertained by this as i was lol, and that you have a good day! (or night or whenever you see this 🥰)

I know I'm just simply obsessed with characters that tend to be researchers especially when they're focused on history (raifort and briar are also among my crush, in one piece i got lilith) but lords this is so important for me 🥲

I just imagined a little scenario where the Meta-Knights in my Meta Knightmare AU are playing through The Subspace Emissary in Smash Bros. Brawl in 2008 MSK, or at least the adults watching then-teenaged Susie and Sirica play it. (Yes, they would have been fighting to see who would play as Meta Knight even before they found out how broken he was.) Specifically, I can imagine them all watching the cutscene where the Halberd reaches that big Subspace portal and they're all excited to see her fly, only for Ganondorf's giant ship to just absolutely annihilate it even more than it ever was going into the Secret Sea. Then all of them would probably just be staring awkwardly at each other and just forget that ever happened. (Keep in mind that at this point in time, they were just starting to refurbish the Halberd.)

I get why some Stranger Things fans didn't like the twist that Vecna was the real big bad all along and the Mind Flayer was basically just an extension of his will cause yeah it does kinda ruin the whole "incomprehensible eldritch abomination" vibe it gave off in the previous seasons. HOWEVER I personally enjoy how the writers decided to take the phrase "man-made horrors beyond our comprehension" and show that in the most literal way possible.

#in all seriousness i do like the idea that the demogorgons and mind flayer were neutral before mr creel came along and took control of them #cause he goes on and on about how humans are parasites that are destroying the natural order #but he himself is a human who ends up in another world and corrupts THEIR natural order #showing he's no better than the rest of us. i enjoy the irony there #i unironically love villains whose views are ALMOST understandable til you realize they're a giant hypocrite doing the very thing they hate #i made this cause i got recommended a season 5 theory video and ended up going down the rabbit hole just now lmao #stranger things #shut up tristan
