One LoZ headcanon I have is that the magic rod Yuga uses was actually invented by Ravio by orders of Princess Hilda, and was only designed to turn the user into a painting, but because he had a better grasp of magic Yuga managed to use it for offense too. I don't think Ravio knew who Yuga was before then, but the instant distrust was cemented even harder after Yuga "tested" the staff on him – even if Hilda told Yuga to release him from the spell

I feel like Yuga's gender identity is just the goal to confuse the masses. For the uninitiated, that flag represents Genderqueer.
