He's the villain in everyone else's route, and even in his own he's STILL kind of a dick. Like, everything bad he did before the game begins happens exactly the same, and it's only when he begins that he gets better (as in he regrets his actions and tries to fix it (it being a plague. He caused a plague because he wanted more power. (Spoilers: the plague killed the MC))). All the other romanceable characters still hate him tho so that's good. The one thing he's got going for him is that in one ending, he stepped down from being the count (idk about the other)

He literally caused a plague that kills thousands of people including THE PLAYER 😭 LIKE HE LITERALLY KILLS YOU DAWG

He is simply the worst. I'm pretty sure he purposefully infected his kingdom with the plague. He made a deal with the devil maybe. Gonna be real with you I haven't finished his storyline.

imagine a guy who is both incredibly pathetic and willing to screw over absolutely everyone for fun. lots of fun as a character, absolute dogwater as a partner

He has directly tortured or somehow harmed all the other romancable characters and every other route tries to kill the mc to take over their body, is also responsible for a plague that killed a large portion of his kingdom and *spoiler* killed the MC

I'll admit I haven't played his route but that's cause he's such a pathetic icky man that I don't think I actually can. And I pride myself in completing every route. I know people like their pathetic meow meows but I want to hit him with a brick

He acts as a manchild who needs someone to guide him through life and show him the difference between right and wrong when I'm pretty sure he's in his forties or fifties. He also abuses his power to do horrible things to people he's not in a romantic relationship with, which should tell you a lot about him.

He’s a selfish asshole who is the villain in every other route and he’s a punk ass bitch I wanna kick his ass so hard his skeleton disintegrates as he fucking deserves 

Dude, he SUCKS. He's the villain in every other route. He's a horrible husband, he forced Muriel to fight for his entertainment, he makes deals that he can't pay for. He threatens and pouts and is obsessed with people loving him. I've been with the Arcana since the very beginning and he wasn't meant to be a romance option, but the writers basically went with it because there was such a demand. So embarrassing to see Lucio fans being like Lucio did nothing wrong ever. Falling all over themselves to blame his mom or Nadia or Asra or anyone else for Lucio's selfishness and shitty behavior. It was peak uwu he's A BABY fan dementia that excuses all his shitty actions because nothing was his fault. The only sane Lucio fans are the ones that are like "he sucks so much <3 I can make him worse."

He's literally described by the devs as flaming trash. He is literally only nice in his route and the main antagonist (or at the very least a jerk) in every other route. he was a very bad husband to ex-wife. he is literally - and with 0 exaggeration- a plague upon the country he ruled. he's also a grown man who calls his fuck ups "oopsies" and honestly, i love him but that gives me the ick.

Cullen Rutherford

stupid racist cop creep whose fans cry about how hes "changed" and "you can't judge him he was addicted to magic drugs" nah he still chose to be a racist cop and abuse his power over innocent people and i hate him. the writers making him romanceable in da:i after how blatantly horrible he was in da:o and da:2 is baffling but i guess they had to appeal to the part of their audience who watch those "mafia boyfriend" videos on tiktok or whatever

He's creepy in origins, though still 100% willing to kill the female mage pc he's crushing on, as well as all the other mages trapped in the circle with him. He's the second-in-command in an even worse circle in 2, listening to and defending the increasingly obviously insane meredith until literally the end. He's one of the people still pushing for the circle system by inquisition, and yes he's going through withdrawals and working through the traumas of previous games. And to be brutally honest his was the first romance i took and while i don't remember much from it, its not worth all the girls going absolutely nuts over knockoff terrible alistair.

He's basically a cop who thinks being born a certain way can revoke personhood and by Inquisition still thinks mages are monsters to be controlled, not people. He gets a fairy tale cutesy romance that focuses on his personal struggles with addiction while showing absolutely no regard to the atrocities he committed and still thinks were justified. He can be romanced BY A MAGE and his actions and beliefs are just glossed over. He believes mages are 'not people like you (Hawke) and me', but if the Warden was a female mage he canonically had a crush on her and would deliberately hang around her despite the fact that he was her *jailer*. If that Warden romanced Leliana, there is war table dialogue in which he pesters Leliana for news of his 'former' crush despite her repeated statement that she doesn't want to talk to him about her. All this shitty behavior and lack of introspection gets swept under the rug by the game, not even giving the PC the chance to really challenge his beliefs. Like damn even Fenris could apologize when he lashed out due to past trauma with mages, and if anyone has a reason to hate mages it's Fenris. If you want an ex Templar hottie Alistair is RIGHT THERE. Tbh I know Cullen is a popular romance and I'm not here to tell anyone what they can or can't do or like in a video game, I'm just saying I think he is deeply undateable

Spends the first two games as an antagonist, fervently devoted to the cause of subjugating mages, then a bunch of "character development" happens off screen and the games treat him like he's completely reformed. However he's actions make it clear he still sees mages as dangerous and lesser. Not to mention if you romance him with an elf he doesn't pay your culture more than lip service respect like most of the devout characters 

He was a total villain in the first two games who was violently prejudiced against mages and uses one single bad experience as an excuse for it (a bad experience that is pretty much exactly what he in his job subjected graduating apprentices to, mind you, but this is never brought up). Now he says he's changed, but his words and actions say otherwise. He still distrusts mages, sympathises with the rebel Templars trying to kill them, and he never owns up to the terrible stuff he did and helped others do in the past two games. He totally knew what Meredith was doing and says he doesn't, and he still tries to defend her intentions. And you have no option to call him out on it. If you romance him as a mage, he angsts about how he might have seen you as subhuman in the past but NOW you're one of the good ones, and when you ask him if he'll kill you if you get possessed, he dodges the question. And the PC is written as being almost sad that she's a mage? Like 'can you love me despite what I am??' Also if Leliana romanced a female mage PC in the first game who is still alive, he asks her creepy questions about their relationship. Fitting considering his original purpose was to be creepy to the female mage Warden. 

I hate him and want to cause chaos. Plus his VA is an asshole.

Sometimes, I mesh together random letters until I find something I like, others are more common ones that I like!

Sometimes I start with the first letter of the name and go down a list. Like, "This character feels like a 'k'" and go from there

ex. Anholly: it's wintery so I'm feeling "holly...." but holly alone doesn't suit her. hmm--

ex. Lucenne: he's a rough guy but i want a smooth-sounding name as contrast. he's kind of mafia-ish so something with a Latin ring would be nice. Lucian/Lucio/Luca don't quite do it

ex. Alouette (The Doll Witch MC!): I want an "-ette" or "-etta" in the name! *googles names that have that*

How are you guys talking about Goncharov like it's not a problematic movie????? It's so baffling to see everyone suck up to the movie only because it's considered a classic by "mainstream"" cinephiles (everything they like is soooo boring anyway). And the fact that everyone is shipping their "blorbos" and talking in paragraphs about homoerotic subtext (mafia movie by a cis straight man?? yeah sure that did happen in your snowflake fantasy).

Anyway, here is a list of problematic things in Goncharov:

1. Goncharov literally gaslights Katya by not telling her that the mafia killed her father. He lies to her because he wants to marry her (sounds like dubcon) and doesn't even let her properly mourn her father by not telling her where his body is ("sleeping with the fish" BUT where? andrei knows where he dumped the body!! Just tell her).

2. Andrei calls everyone a f-slur ALL.THE.TIME and doesn't respect Mario's pronouns by always refering to him as "his babygirl". Kinda misogynistic too the way he reduces Mario's artistic sensibility to female behaviour.

3. Sofia tries to kill the Pope twice to get the catholic church's gold. But sure go ahead and say "girlboss yas slayyyy" as if killing an innocent old man to steal gold is not a literal crime.

4. Lucio is a war criminal and everyone seems so quick to forgive him just because they think he is hot. First of all thats a middle aged man, and secondly he probably killed a lot of people during wwii, so yeah i will not overlook that.

5. They are in the mafia. Are y'all seriously romanticizing the mafia? The mafia that kills real pocs (italians)??????????

6. Katya and Sofia are so toxic for each other, how is everyone seeing that is relationship as shippable is beyond me. Sofia exploits Katya's abusive relationship with Goncharov for her own benefit. Don't romanticize them just becuase you like eNemiEs tO LoVerS or whatever, that kind of toxic cycle is something that happens to real people in real life with real trauma.

So yeah, if you are posting about goncharov I'm blocking you.

I wasn't really sure what to write because I've read headcanons of actor AUs. Like, with The Arcana being a movie/series, so I didn't really see the point of writing something that has been written a few times before. Instead, I chose something a bit different, but I'm not sure if this is what Anon had in mind.

I instantly had Nadia and Lucio's parts figured out, so I was like, why not do all of them? So here we are, for once, with headcanons of the entire main 6.

The Main Six and the types of movies/series they'd act in

Asra: It might be too obvious, but Asra being a cool, goofy, and hot magician in a fantasy series? Hell yeah! Just imagine all the cool outfits and spells he would do. It's totally his style. I can also see him starring in a friends-to-lovers romance movie or something like Stranger Things.

Nadia: This gorgeous woman would be the perfect mafia boss in a prohibition-era gangster movie. She has the boss lady vibes, the elegance, the sexiness, and she's also intimidating enough for the role. Just give her a suit or a dress, a hat, put a cigarette in her hand and a gun in the other, and there you have the most alluring mafia boss to ever exist. Someone please draw her as a 1920s mafia boss. Please, I'm begging you. And also, I might write more about this someday because Nadia as a mafia boss is hot.

Julian: I don't think I have to say it. Give this man a hospital series. Actually, no. I can see him being a theater dude or a telenovela actor. You know, the kind of stuff that moms and grandmas like to watch (and secretly, pretty much everyone else does too.) Julian is a drama boi.

Muriel: Romance. Sweet, sweet Muriel would be a perfect choice for a love story that leaves the viewers in tears. But he would be a perfect narrator for nature documentation. His voice is deep and incredibly pleasant; plus, he wouldn't have to show himself at all.

Portia: Romcom with a hint of mystery. It's funny, exciting, and so sweet it might give someone diabetes. Portia would be the perfect partner in crime to fall in love with. It's the kind of movie that your mom first saw when she was young, and she still insists on watching it every year for Christmas because it's her favorite. It's that good.

Lucio: Someone should have put this man in Game of Thrones. Swords, fights, dragons, and tits. That's the kind of stuff actor Lucio would like. He would have been a perfect Joffrey if only he was about two decades younger.

La Squadra headcanons Pt.1

I have so many headcanons for these bastards so legally I have to share them

Characters included in this part are Risotto, Ghiaccio, and Melone!

Edit-okay I added Melone and Ghiaccios ages because I forgot it earlier

Risotto Nero  ⛓

Risotto was born Lucio Romero 

Risotto is 28 years old, born in 1972 November 18th making him an Scorpio (I know he was born in 1974 or whatever in canon but I did the math and it doesn't add up sooo)

Risotto was born in Catania,Sicily to his mother and father who owned a local handmade jewelry store which Risotto worked at for a while when he was a teenager

Risotto is the second youngest of 6

Risotto isn’t a born stand user. 

He didn’t have many friends due to his menacing appearance as both a child and as an adult. His one friend was his cousin Delfina who was the same age as him, they were practically siblings.

Till the day he died he never stopped grieving his cousin, he feels like his cousin would be disgusted by the person he’s become. 

Risotto got his position in the mafia fairly quickly due to his relation to Polpo, his uncle and father to the cousin he avenged

His hair is naturally black

This man has so many tattoos and piercings, all made by himself.

Random headcanons

-Him and Formaggio bond over music a lot 

-He isn’t very good at making friends because whenever he’s in a conversation he barely talks and he just stares at you completely deadpan, no matter how interested he is in whatever you’re saying

-He is the team's healer, he uses his stand to reattach anything that may have been severed during a hit, shit hurts.

-He has the ‘tism 

-He enjoys cooking sicilian dishes his mom used to make him and his siblings when he was a child

Ghiaccio 🧊

-He was born in July 21st 1974, in Venezia Italy, to his father and mother, but sadly shortly after his birth his mom died due complications during childbirth

- Ciro Bufalino is his real name

-He is 26 years old

-He’s a Cancer

-Ghiaccio’s father would rarely be at home due to work so he was often left in care of his uncle Gelato and his uncles ‘friend’ Sorbet

-Gelato got Ghiaccio into the Beetles 

- Ghia is basically their son

-He was always aware of both of their connections to the mafia 

-Ghiaccio always had a large interest in sports growing up his favorites are swimming, speed skating, soccer, and cycling

-He specifically loved speed skating, he was even part of a team and tried to qualify for the olympics 

-He was so close to getting in but he was sabotaged by another competitor who paid off a group of guys to beat him to the point where both his legs had been severely fractured. 

-He had to be hospitalized and go through physical therapy for little over a year just to be able to walk again

- Ghia sought revenge on the competitor who had hired the men to beat him, he stalked him to no end before deciding the perfect moment to strike

-He beat him to death while his back was turned, due to Ghia yelling during the whole murder he was immediently caught and arrested. 

-Though 4 years later he was bailed out mysteriously

-The guy who bailed him out was Risotto who saw potential in the other man 

-And just like that Ghiaccio had joined La Squadra as the 5th official member, much to the displeasure of Sorbet and Gelato who thought he didn’t belong somewhere like the mafia they wanted him to go live a normal life. 

-Ghiaccio wasn’t a natural born stand user.

Random headcanons-

-He definitely has autism im sorry

-He cannot work with Prosciutto because his stand nullifies Grateful Dead’s ability

-Him, Formaggio, and Prosciutto usually watch sports at the bar together and bond over a couple of drinks 

-He’s a natural blond

-He tries to work out regularly so he can stay in shape and be a peak performance

-Lived with Sorbet and Gelato for a while when he first joined La Squadra 

-His outbursts aren’t as bad as they are when he’s on a hit but he’ll still go on pointless rants to anyone who listens

Melone 💻 

-Melone was born Lorenzo Landolfi, born in Africo, Italy 

- He’s the middle child of struggling family 

- was born on 1972 August 7th, making him a Leo

-He is 28 years old

- His father was always in and out of a job Melone’s entire childhood while his mother worked as a nurse

-He was very much the unloved middle child, he studied constantly throughout the night every night, joining multiple clubs, having several hobbies just to get his parents attention just for a moment

-Melone was a child prodigy going to college at the young age of 15 

- This is when his self destructive behaviors had gotten to it’s peak

-He’d go days without sleeping, barely taking care of himself, just studying and keeping up with extracurriculars

- By the time he had graduated college and completed his 3 years of internship to become a obstetrician he felt completely burnt out

- He was tired his life felt dull and grating after all he had put himself through for years his parents always gave more attention to his other siblings, he began to spite his family, he didn’t want to exist to please his parents anymore 

- He joined Passione and gained his stand Babyface, he was quickly assigned to La Squadra because of how useful Babyface’s abilities 

- He likes to mess with his victims as well as his team mates with his whole perverted act 

Random Headcanons- 

Melone is actually fairly introverted not really leaving his home outside of work and hanging out with coworkers 

He still tends to overwork himself but Sorbet, Risotto, or Prosciutto force him to take breaks when working

Melone has a high metabolism so he’s practically a stick 

He has asthma so it’s best he doesn’t do any direct fighting during a hit preferring to use a Babyface Jr. 

Although he’s very disconnected from his family he still does miss his mother knowing how overworked she is much like him

Detective AU where MC is an elite private investigator who very rarely takes cases unless the cases are interesting and usually ends up uncovering something terrible & saving the day.

Background Info: MC is a former special agent. Lucio, Julian & Muriel worked with MC but in different divisions. MC is on good terms with all of them.

Asra - Journalist

Nadia - Senator

Julian - Doctor

Asra

They had a lead that someone in the government was corrupt, so they told Nadia who decided to help but since they were getting nowhere she managed to get you to help in the investigation.

They thought that you were a bit odd and that you looked vaguely familiar which made them feel a bit uneasy about you.

They decided that just in case you were dirty to go along with you and document any evidence you find on the case with them.

Due to the fact that they lack any and all covert ops experience you had to save them a few times from getting caught.

They finally began to fully trust you when you patched them up after they injured their leg, & thus began their crush on you.

Once they are healed & able to continue working the case they start

When you both found enough evidence to convict the corrupt politician, you were nearly discovered but thanks to the fact that you both are skilled tricksers, you manage to convinve your way out of the hideout.

Once the investigation was over, they got you to join them to publish their storyget you to be their lover and to work with you on your certain cases.

Nadia

She was concerned about a fellow senator and his associates. Since she decided that the police were probably corrupt as well & she didn't want Asra to be in danger, she turned to you to do the job.

She was very cautious of what she said & how much information she gave to you in case you were someone who was easily persuaded.

The more time she spent investigating with you the more she began to trust you and enjoy your company along with your daily updates on the case.

At a certain point in the investigation, she admits she likes you and would like to go out with you once you solve the case.

You have to try to hold her back once the evil monologue begins, mainly because you don't want her to get hurt.

You both thankfully managed to escape from the politician's hideout unharmed except for some ruined clothes caused by the people & traps you had to avoid.

You both handle the confrontation with the corrupt senator & let Asra get the story on the headliners,

Once the political & public side of he case is cleared up, Nadia and you finally make your relationship official by going on the date that you both planned previously.

Julian

He was beginning to grow increasingly worried about the sudden disappearance of certain medicines, drugs, and some of his colleagues.

He decided that since he didn't want to bother his sister because she was busy dealing with the mafia, he decided to turn to you to investigate.

Having worked with you previously, he knew you were loyal to the client & that you were trustworthy enough to keep the matter private.

You both agreed that his expertise would be needed in the field and to identify evidence that may come along when he wasn't on the clock.

You ended up following the rest of the evidence to the forest, which Muriel agreed to guide you into until you found you're looking for.

The two of you wind up making small talk & reminissing on your days working together & admitting that you do like eeach other as more than friends but decide to talk about that topic later.

You had to fight your way out once one of the croney's recognised Julian but luckily you made it out of there in time.

When you both managed to get the Portia and her squad to arrest the criminals and their associates, which Portia gives you both credit for when the press come.

He then admits his feelings for you and takes you out to the bar you two met up.

I've had some writers block, so I'm trying to get past that & school holidays got me in the over relaxed zone.

mmmmmm I would say Run For Your Life by Silvana Gandolfi! it's a ya novel that tells of a true-to-life story of two Mafia victims. Santino's and Lucio's story end up intertwining in a way that is satisfying from many points of view

27. for an unreal story that feels terribly realistic

now this is probably a commonplace answer, but The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka is just!!! the Book™!!! Gregor is such a realistic character but I guess it's no surprise, this is probably tumblr's favorite book. BUT I'd say the short story by Ryunosuke Akutagawa called The Nose could fit here too, in a different way!

Angelo Marcone - technically the middle child of the Marcone family, Angelo or Angel via his wife, was given an ultimatum when he was a teenager, either he straightened up, stopped acting “deplorable” - he was dying his hair, getting into steampunk and the goth scene of Chicago (there is one, I’m sure) and was sneaking out to hang around people just as weird as he was - and if he didn’t, he would no longer be allowed to live in the house. Angel stayed and tried to obey his father’s wishes but after his mother died he and his father clashed again, when he and his girlfriend at the time dyed Christian’s hair blue and took him to the goth club Angel was working at, at the time. This time he spit at his father’s shoes and walked out with a suitcase. He had money left to him by their mother (they all apparently had trusts left by her) and he left with his girlfriend, leaving Chicago and never looking back. After he and that girl split, he was living in California, took on a boyfriend and worked at a Tea and Curiosities place for a bit before deciding to leave the country. He moved to Italy, without the boyfriend, and that’s eventually where he met his now wife. The last time he saw his brother was their father and older brother’s funeral. He made Christian promise he’d never turn out like the man that cursed their family before walking away again. An artist like his mother, Angel is currently a professor at Florence Academy of Art in Tuscany and he and his wife have two children

Lucio Marcone - technically he was born after before Christian, but he’s actually his and Angel’s half-brother from a relationship their mother had with one of her bodyguards. Lucio spent the majority of his life in a boarding school as far from his “father” as he could get. He, Angel and Christian were pretty close growing up though when they did get to spend time together. When their father passed away, Lucio reconnected with Christian though he has nothing to do with the mafia side of the Marcone business and instead is an investment banker for his brother. He essentially takes the dirty money in, cleans it and cycles out the clean money again.  Just as dangerous as Christian though without the fiery temper, his is a slow burn but he can easily kill you with a flick of his wrist.

Aurelio Mateo Chavez - see the bigger posts for this guy but simply put he is a Vampirate that is approaching his 1300th birthday with connections to a lot of immortals, a close relationship to Danielle (he, like so many others was in Versailles when it fell and was a consort of Armand’s at the time, when Armand found the fledgling Danielle near death he took her and helped teach her. Aurelio was already pretty old at that point and when Armand left them he stuck with Danielle for another 50yrs or so before they separated but he still keeps in contact with her.

Aurelio’s biggest interaction was find an injured Jack & Yorgi in the late 800s/early 900s and working with Jack to hunt down the demonic Charlo (Charles) Vance. He encounters Sara through this as well though aside from spending maybe 7months with her travels through Nottingham & Nassau combined he’s not really done anything too interesting with his long life. He has been an artist, a poet, and an inventor through the years as well as operating now as a Tiktok creator (one of his stranger interactions with humans). A daywalker, he can eat human food if he chooses to and sometimes does in order to get close with humans. Like Danielle, he feeds carefully and mostly off of the evil in the world. He also uses a clawed shaped ring to draw blood when he does feed, which because of his age isn’t really necessary, just something he likes to do once in a while. “Nostalgia” *shrug*

Dominic Cruz - Dominic Cruz, married to Amanda DeSantas for about 2 years, he’s husband number 5 for her. Currently they and her 17 year old daughter Kennedy live in gloomy Seattle and he is a heart surgeon. Love can be weird as he’s falling in love with his step-daughter, though treading carefully there. He is planning on divorcing her mother soon and has offered for Kenny to come to LA with him if she gets into UCLA.  

Raine “Rae” deMarco - Raine is 45, he has a sister who is 43 named Willow who has 3 daughters, Marion (14), Concord (12, nicknamed Connie) and Penelope (3, Penny by her uncle). Marion actually had her uncle in a few of her TikTok’s and suggested that he start one cause he’s single and needs to spend his golden years with someone. He pinched her but let her help him make one. (He ultimately borrowed her ring light for one of his thirst trap videos, “her “eww that’s gross! Will forever live in my memory forever”) Raine does post other stuff, like Warhammer painting videos, fighting with the 3D printer in his office or spending all night gaming on WoW with his guild (seems like he’s been in my head for a little while actually, I thought it was Kevin Reynolds in the guild with Sebastian, turns out it’s been Raine, his nickname is apparently Uncle Rae, he has a panda Ren in retail with the same name). He also has cooking videos and generally nerdy stuff. Fridays he goes live either reading or part of a mass Tiktok D&D group While Pan, he’s attracted to women more than other men, and wants a woman that’s into the same nerdy shit he is. 

Kevin Reynolds -  the oldest Reynolds brother and also the only one that’s biological to the Reynolds family. Kevin was 10 when Matt was adopted and 12 when Vartan came to live with them as well. The family typically fosters children, and seeks to give them a better life than the one they had. Kevin is currently in his later 40s, and lives in Chicago where he owns an old-fashioned record store (with actual records on the upstairs level) called Empire Records, or just The Empire by his teen/20-something staff. Kevin is gay and actually just lost his husband Jimmy to AIDS. Jimmy was the drummer for his brothers’ band Silex, and actually younger than Kevin was as well. He is currently having issues with depression following the loss of the only love in his life (up til now, obviously), though he actually has clinical depression as well. He and Matt absolutely cannot stand one another, mostly due to Matt’s homophobia, though Kevin has always been out so he’s not sure exactly where that stems from. He and Vartan are close, despite the 12 year age gap. Empire Records is a somewhat failing business, though is eventually brought under the wing of Revolver Records for its vintage, throwback to the late 80s/90s music scene and often becomes the site of the Revolver bands’ signings, which boosts their sales quite a bit too.

Jonathan North - Jon is an older character of mine, who originally comes from Alabama but is currently living in New York. As part of a dark family tradition, he has been “granted the gift” of the Wolf. (He was scratched by his grandfather, an aging monster of a werewolf, and when he transforms every month, he’s a dire wolf. Thought extinct, this one has been surviving through the bloodline of the oldest males in the North family. Jon is the last, as his aunts keep having girls) For his part, Jon moved away from Alabama, studied at Tulane and became a history professor where he took a job in NYC. He used to barricade himself in his basement complete with chains and a metal slab door but due to an accident he broke free one night and was caught by Section after ravaging a good portion of Central Park. They didn’t kill him, obviously but he is in close communication with them for a safer place to go when the full moon starts. Jon does also have a girlfriend, Trinity, who has been absent for a while but he is keeping her St Bernard safe.
