Like—look, my first major fandom here on Tumblr was asoiaf circa 2011-2013–back then if a ship was incest, it was generally understood that that was just… another layer to the shipping onion and not really a reflection of the shipper’s morality and practices. Like, it was clear that Hannigram was an abusive, unhealthy, codependent ship, but there was a general understanding that everyone shipping knew that and shipped it because it’s an interesting dynamic. So like, even if Zen/Ram was incest—which I’m not saying it is because again, they’re brothers in a monastic sense and also it’s likely Omnics have concepts of kinship that are unfamiliar to humans (like how we saw them grafting parts of their dead friends onto themselves as part of a mourning ritual in London Calling)—like… I just think it’s reductive to think in terms of “Is this ship approved??!??!” Like literally just interpret the characters as honestly and enjoyably as you can. Like they’re clearly narrative foils and they’re being heavily compared to Professor X and Magneto—are people really so shocked to see shippers take it in that direction??

This might be triggering to some people, but I need to rant.

So, I have a "friend" who really,

Loves cats. Which is a fine setament on its own. But her family has a tendency to take in strays or cats that are being given up by friends/family to take care if them, and maybe find them a proper home. All good, right? Well, they dont always give up the cats. And they live in the top floor of a duplex, effectively being a converted attic space. So not much room and a very messy place at that. Pizza boxes and other old food items litter the floor, along with cat piss and feces also taking its place there.

A shelter I work at and myself have been reaching out to her and her family as they now have 12 cats, which include the 7 new kittens, to get the mom cat and the kittens to a new home. As my "friend" claimed the mom and the kittens were her responsibility, her mom let her make the choice of giving them up or not.

The other issue stems from her never even being home nine times out of ten. The only reason any of her cats are being fed, is because the brother puts out a bunch of dry food in the morning.

As we've reached out, she refused to give the mom cat or the kittens up, with her main concern being that she doesnt know the foster and she might never see them again. The foster is a lovely lady who's been fostering mom cats and babies for several years and has certification in some if the stuff going along with that. The shelter cant do anything unless the owner gives consent and signs a release form. And they waived any fees attached to it.

Should I let her just keep the mom cat and kittens in the condition that they're living in or should I call someone like madac or animal control, as this is now an animal hording situation?
