How James first tried to tell Lily he was in love with her:

He wrote a note.

While it should have been simple, it rlly wasn’t. He wanted to tell her that he loved her, because he did, but it was outright and he was terrified of coming off odd.

Then Remus suggested that he simply write it as “ily” so that he did. It felt like a good compromise.

Until he passed the note too Lily and she replied with “you missed a pretty important letter in my name Potter. I underestimated your stupidity”

The note said “ ily Evans”

I don't think we as a fandom give Evan Rosier enough time of day. we don't make him the focus of headcanons but instead make him a side character to Regulus or Barty. Long story short, he gets the Peter treatment, and that's not fair to either of them!! give me Evan headcanons that aren't just about Barty (even tho I love rosekiller). James Potter loved like the sun yeah yeah but guys, Lily, her love literally stopped the first wizarding war, she defended Snape so much because she loved him, she joined the order, got married in the middle of war and had a child, we know she still loved her sister even after their falling out too. We talk about how much James loved but we rarely talk about how much Lily loved.

Lily loved Snape, contrary to popular belief from both marauders stans and Snape stans, maybe not romantically but she still loved him, Lily loved Snape the way James loved Peter, Lily loved Snape and their falling out has never been talked about enough.

Harry Potter survived because Lily Evans Potter loved. Hundreds of thousands lived because Lily loved Harry.
