Back from my very long hiatus with the ninth card in my Mass Effect tarot series. Commander Shepard is the perfect embodiment of The World card. This card ends the cycle of the Major Arcana cards, just as Commander Shepard ends the Reaper Cycle with their final choice. It's a card that signifies completion and achievement, and very worthy of our valiant Commander Shepard as they stare down at Earth. The World: Representing balance and accomplishment, The World is the final card of the Major Arcana suite. Feel a sense of relief as you achieve balance in your life, as well as the connection to the world around you when you find your place in the cycle of life. This card ends The Fool's journey and is often depicted with a dancing person in the center, surrounded by a wreath that signifies the completion and cycle of life.

WIP Wednesday

Long time no see, uh? Thank you so much for the tag @whimsyswastry (I'm going through everything, sorry if I'm late in replying, just 3000 things all at once keepin me busy)! <3

I was sent the cover of Jessie Dumont's I Prefer Girls by @ndostairlyrium (Hi Ali you're tagged), and of course it had to be done. I was about to post it, but then I realised I completely forgot I should really do the background on my own, shouldn't I. -3-

Some colour maps from an upcoming illustration. I finally sat down to make tarot cards for my babies, and Alyra came jumping in first place. Considering her arcana is The Chariot, it only seems fitting she gets to be the first. I am convinced on the bottom right version, but tell me what you think of course. :)

A doodle. When I played the Noveria mission in Mass Effect, that logo with the flaming vial just screamed to me Science Bros. They WOULD adopt it as their brand. They're scientists, and they're hot! It ensued picturing them in the Mass Effect universe, and thinking that it was them in that lab. Experimenting on the Rachni. They managed to convince one, a cute girl named Polpettina ("Little she-meatball" in italian) Aisling taught not to eat humanoid flesh by singing to her, pretty constantly, only songs about proper food. It worked, they got on the Normandy, Polpettina became the most spoiled rachni in the galaxy. Sure, they both get possessed by the Queen at times, but it's all innocent.

Last night your mods packed up our altar and brought it to our local anarchist infoshop and café for a beautiful TDOR event. A few dozen of us were squeezed inside the little venue for performances of music, poetry, and dance, and then we took the stage to lead the Rite.

Alder started by explaining the origins of the Rite, and how it’s evolved over the years. (We agreed that they would do this part because it needed to be concise and that is one thing that I, Rocket, am not.) Then we spoke the prayer we developed last year for the new format of the rite.

After we shared the prayer, the group read the names of the family members we’ve lost in the last year. There were 391 names, read by ten community members, and after each reader finished, the crowd shouted “¡Presente!”

Over the course of the night, the entire group collaborated to write each name on a long scroll of paper.

At the end of the paper closest to the camera is a large blue triangle stamp bearing the words “Trans people belong here!” and the date. Many pairs of feet are visible on either side of the paper.]

After the reading of the names was complete, we returned to the microphone. Earlier in the day, the two of us had been talking about how we couldn’t know the names of the trans people killed in Gaza over the last month – over the last decades, really – and wanted to honor them as much as we could, so before we continued with our planned prayers I took the mic and called out, “AND ONE MORE TIME FOR ALL OUR FAMILY MEMBERS WHO WERE SUBJECTED TO A FINAL ACT OF VIOLENCE BY BEING ERASED IN DEATH AND BURIED UNDER THE WRONG IDENTITY AND DENIED THEIR RIGHT TO HAVE THEIR NAMES SPOKEN WITH LOVE INTO COMMUNITY, WE DON’T KNOW YOU BUT WE LOVE YOU, ¡PRESENTE!

AND ONE MORE TIME FOR THE UNCOUNTABLE FAMILY MEMBERS TAKEN FROM US BY THE MASS VIOLENCE, WAR, GENOCIDE, ETHNIC CLEANSING, AND CLIMATE CATASTROPHE BEING PERPETRATED ON ALL THE PEOPLES OF THE WORLD BY A SYSTEM WHICH WE MUST HONOR THEM BY DESTROYING, WE DON’T KNOW YOU BUT WE LOVE YOU, ¡¡PRESENTE!!”

Then we continued with our planned prayers, the Mourner’s Kaddish, the Manifesto of the Order of Charonaea, and closed out with Assata’s Prayer, which we invited the crowd to call-and-response with us. I was heartened when speaking the Mourner’s Kaddish to hear that several people in the room were saying it along with me.

The evening closed out with a Theater of the Oppressed style embodied grieving and hoping exercise, and finally an open invitation to collaboratively bang on the biggest drum any of us had ever seen.

I think the Rite was received well, and we got a lot of really loving and grateful feedback that made us both feel like the Rite has come to a place where it’s both effective and accessible to people at any level of experience, which is what we were hoping. We’re grateful to the organizers for squeezing us in at the last minute and trusting us to bring some weird stuff, grateful to all of you for journeying with us this year, for sending us your asks and your altar photos to let us know that we’re together, and as always, grateful to the Ancestor Helping Spirits for being present with us in the work, speaking to us before, during, and after, having their hands on our shoulders, and welcoming the dead with celebration and love.

May they rest in power. May their memory be a blessing. May they never thirst.

Eighth card in my Mass Effect tarot series is done! Sovereign as The Devil, with Saren and Benezia the classically depicted man and woman enslaved. I originally had The Illusive Man for this card, but saw him better fit for The Moon card. The Devil represents enslavement to raw desires, fear, and giving in to temptation and attachment, which Saren and Benezia both did (albeit later being indoctrinated).

The Devil: This card can mean enslavement, feeling trapped, temptation. The Devil taps into your shadow self and instant gratification at the expense of long term sustainability. It can highlight the fear your feel of breaking free of the control of The Devil. The man and woman typically have loose chains, which they could easily escape from if only they chose to reject the shadow self's temptation and fear.

You can and probably should buy your first tarot deck!

My first deck was gifted to me by friends on my birthday, following the tradition by all means and then some. It was my first real tarot deck, I loved everything about it and it was a very thoughtful gift by very good friends. A couple of years later, I came across another one I really liked and after some time of contemplating if I needed two decks (lol) I gave in and bought it

The connection I have with the deck I personally chose and got for myself is not even close to the connection I had with the gifted one

The gifted one would often "short circuit" and give random cards that had no correlation to my question and formed no answer, just pure nonsense. The energy would also feel heavy and thick like trying to run through a swamp. I tried everything to fix it with no result, eventually deciding it was because I was not very experienced but no, even after all this time it's still the same

The deck I chose hasn't given me any problems at all so far. The energy feels welcoming and refreshing, all the cards I pull work in perfect harmony with each other and the answers are clear as day

There's a lot of reasons why people gifted others their first tarot deck back in the day. People's views on witchcraft and divination meant it could be dangerous for you to buy a deck because everyone would know about it and assume stuff. Things were also more expensive and not (as) mass produced or easily accessible so a deck could be a family heirloom of sorts that was handed down to you

Things are certainly different now and at the end of the day, your deck is a tool and you have to vibe with your tools to use them effectively

The denial of Karma is killing y'all lol. It's totally understandable to not believe in things you have to buy to physically obtain to engage in i.e tarot cards & crystals.

I also totally get that Karma seems like it's always "gonna happen soon," but Karma is immediate.

The fact that almost everybody is literally describing how horrible to world is in detail while denying Karma is a sign of non-presence and y'all will continue to suffer until you come to terms with reality.

Until you stop blaming a definitive group for the source of all your problems instead of yourself, cause everybody loves sex, wine and drugs more than they love a clean brain, then the world will remain the way it is.

Spirituality is real - more real then what the made up "reality" you think you're experiencing. The unseen is the cause, you're the effect.

If you're miserable, that means you have done something to reach this present moment of misery because that's Karma you must pay for.

I'm talking about real sacrifice to obtain what you want right Now.

Don't you think hoarding bodies on a commune would've worked by now? You need a different strategy.

Once these individuals come down form the high of chasing a goal, they're going to want the opposite.

Then they're going to start thinking of ways to reform separatism so it includes beasts. This typically takes a generation or two, and everything that the foremothers created was destroyed by their very own.

This is a result of a filthy mind.

If you don't have stringent standards of purity in place, none of the customs will remain in place. This happens time and time again.

This life really is a Game and absolutely everything starts with your mind, which is the unseen. If you don't believe that your own thoughts exist, there's no hope for you in this lifetime.

The best strategy is to kill all defects within humanity to ensure perfection. The best way to do this is to kill all defects within yourself first.

Evil people will never create anything good. It doesn't matter how good they think they are or the sweet-sounding words they use.

You either have the results in yourself first or you don't and almost nobody has the results they're talking about. It's always far out into a "future."

For me, somebody needs to show me a track record of never having a boyfriend, let alone married to a male, before I listen to anything they say on this subject.

There are so many grifters with ex-husbands, or are even actively married, and once again, the people who are the living examples of what your supposed movements wants are ignored because male-worship is always the agenda of the day in some manner...

whether it's an actual male being promoted by them or a female who has idolized him at some point. These people just want your money because they're empty inside. Notice how sexual they are too.

They're al overt occultists boast about pimping women, abusing drugs and are obsessed with sex, but have the nerve to talk to you about "reality."

Only an absolutely pure mind and body matters.

What were seeing now is the beginning of mass horror.

Everybody is running and hiding from Karma's Wrath just as biblically predicted.

There's nowhere to go because you'll be there, but good luck.

Separatism and 4b on a large scale won't work because your minds are weak.

When you see those so-called "women" in their animalistic state, you'll be calling for yet another separation until you realize that there is no salvation in a deluded and fearful Ego.

But it's good that it won't work because you'll be one step closer to reality that there's nothing to look forward to in hell but your individual bliss.

When you clean your mind, that radiates to others. When you talk about it, it strengthens. When you one-pointedly dedicate your life to purity, you become the pinnacle of holiness.

If you have "cheat days" or "lazy days" you only fuck yourself up and you will lose momentum then decide it "never worked."

Before you have the privilege of allowing God to keep physical filth away from you, you must separate your mind from depravity.

The test for its success lies in your ability to separate yourself from depravity in thought first because the physical manifestation of depravity is man.

Man didn't come "out of nowhere" for "no reason." They're your lesson and the longer you deny this, the more you will die on repeat. If you keep fucking your lesson, he'll fuck you and your lineage 100x harder.

Oh, and if you don't reincarnate, where does your motivation to create change come from?

If you truly believed you wouldn't come back here, and this world is as bad as you say it is you'd just kill yourself and stay gone, but common sense isn't a strong suit of deniers of reality.

You're either born with this kind of Will or you work like hell to strengthen your Will.

And those who work to get it will understand that peace isn't a given nor is it something you ask for from others.

If you really know what Peace was, you'd sacrifice everything to obtain it, and most people aren't there yet. So they have to learn about the opposite of Peace: Terror.

Been looking at the two flowcharts that were posted in the Echocord that detail all of the possible tarot card combinations that Sam can get in Nikolai's route depending on his choices (Flowchart 1 and Flowchart 2).

The biggest thing I'm taking away from the tarot readings is that I think that a lot of the choices and a lot of the characters that said choices pertain aren't gonna be as relevant and impactful as the cards make it seem. Choosing to sell the names of any of the secondary miner boys (Dimitri, Felipe, Paul, even Ben), remembering the locker combination, escaping 8883 first try or not, etc. All that probably won't matter that much in the grand scheme of things and honestly, I don't think they should.

Not saying this cause I believe a lot of choice based interactive media that tries to determine how the story goes based on players choosing how the story goes tend to ultimately stifle their story due to getting caught up in trying to account for every little alterable detail (cough mass effect cough) but that's just me.

Even Nikolai doesn't seem to hold much sway in how the cards shape out as the only path where Nik based choices hold influence is if you give his name to Porter during which the final card you get in the spread (and the one that determines Sam's future) is Judgment rather than Tower which you get by naming literally anyone else.

But Feng Yaolin, holy shit, Feng Yaolin. He has so much power in the card readings that it's terrifying. It isn't surprising considering that the initial choice that starts the tarot chain and necessitated the making of two tarot flowcharts was a Yao choice. But every time I look at the flowcharts more carefuly I find another Yao related ripple effect that catches me off guard.

Considering how the cards are meant to give Sam insight into his past actions, his present situation, and how all that might impact his future, I feel that his relationship with Yao is the ultimate crux of what the tarot readings are getting at.

Trust Yao or Don't Trust Yao. That's a question that Sam is gonna have to ask himself repeatedly. But there's also a flipside question to it that Sam also needs to ask.

Should Yao trust Sam or not?

I feel that the upcoming choices in the upcoming latter half of Nik's route will affect not just Sam's trust in Yao, but Yao's trust in Sam. Learning to trust again is one of Sam's biggest arcs in TSR. But that also means that Sam has to prove himself to be someone worthy of trust.

Cause trust is a two way street.
