I heard in some continuities, participants in the Beast Wars are known to eat each other, is it true?
Dear Grisly Gobbler,
There are unfortunately many cases in the history of the Transformers where combatants on both sides have been forced to subsist on the drained energon of their slain foes and allies. While there are chemical differences, the Cybertronian body can usually process the internal Energon of others. Typically this is done after a butchering process to minimize nausea and psychological rejection by serving the fuel in cubes.
As for the Beast Wars in particular, organs resembling hardy synthetic “stomachs” were added as standard during the Great Upgrade. Derived from Terrorcon technology, these gave Maximals and Predacons an enhanced ability to derive energy from organic and mechanical matter, extending to the synthetic flesh and fur used in contemporary beast modes. While not a total replacement for proper fuelling, it did allow for greater fuel efficiency in survival situations.
It should be noted that a strong stomach does not denote a strong appetite. While Cheetor and Rattrap both had the physical capacity for eating garbage, only one had a taste for it.
Anyhow, in iterations of the Beast Wars where the crews of the Axalon and Darksyde were much larger, both crews would occasionally sustain themselves on their slain foes. Such was the case with the two sides who fled the lifeless Cybertron ruled by Nemesis Prime; Tigatron in particular came to enjoy the sweet taste of Scorponok drone muscle.
And the second drawing for Transformers OTP Zine! Dinobot x Rattrap again, because I can't get enough of them.
Also, thank you everyone who left a comment in reblogs or reblog's tags in the previous art - I'm genuinely happy that my art made you happy! Hope this one will also bring you some joy <з

I don't draw nearly enough Transformers, that's something I need to fix. They're very fun to draw, if somewhat challenging. I also need to catch up on the IDW Beast Wars comics because I treasure Nyx and Skold with my whole heart.
Beast Wars was pretty much my obsession growing up, and, though it's been a while since I've rewatched the series proper, it still has some really damn good character writing. Y'know, once you get past the weird parts in Season 1.
Come to think of it, Dinobot and Rattrap's vitriolic frenemy dynamic might well have been my fujoshi awakening, though I didn't realize it until, like, a decade and a half later.
I've had tumblr a bit abandoned and I've forgotten to post the 30 things I've made of my Humanformers. So I have these doodles of the maximals :D
1. Wheeljack and Rhinox, I have a little hc (thanks to a muti from tt) about how the two of them would be very good friends if given the time. Also, Jackie would be very curious about the maximals and would ask him a thousand and one things, Rhinox would listen patiently and happily :3
2. Primal and Airazor. This was more of an exploration of how they would look (I haven't drawn them for a long time) and their clothes, both strongly inspired by Peruvian culture, although I must say that both are Latin-Asian, only more influenced in Latin America (also, Airazor is taller than primal because I say so)
Appreciate how Rise of the Beasts calls out the ancient astronaut theory for being pretty racist by having Optimus Primal tell Elena that a majority of the things in South America that people like to attribute to aliens were really just the result of human ingenuity.
The Maximals befriending an indigenous tribe and protecting them for centuries was also a nice touch. Also feels like it could be a shout-out to that short story “Fire in the Dark” from Transformers Legends (or not, the idea of aliens visiting ancient humans is common).
