Nationality: British

Background
Hometown
The Seymour manor was a big, illustrious household that has been around since Jacobean times, and it was big enough to fit the big family alongside the staff, made of gold, pastel colours and with some rooms renovated with the style of the era, having Baroque, Rococo and Regency styles spread all over the house. Jesse loved his house and was his safe place for a long time.
Family
Mother: Alice Seymour, neé Bulstrode
Tumblr media
A shy, reserved and quiet woman, she was from a minor pureblood family who was in need of wealth to widen their prestige, and with Alice, named after Queen Victoria’s most beautiful daughter, Princess Alice of Hesse and by Rhine, for she was as beautiful, with golden curls and sweet blue eyes, she quickly enamoured her future husband, Albert Seymour, and the two of them married soon enough at the age of 20, a succesfull marriage that ended up in eight childre, though her last child, whom she was going to name Christopher, died of influenza at the age of four months, which made her more protective of her only son Jesse.
She ensured her daughters married someone of prestige that they liked well enough and thus made her a Grandmother of the Wizarding World.
Father: Albert Seymour
Tumblr media
A rich, handsome and newly pureblood man, he was extroverted, intelligent and had a vision that put him ahead of everyone else. He was sorted into Gryffindor and soon fell in love with his future wife, Alice Bulstrode, whom he courted since the age of fifteen and married soon after graduating, a successful marriage that cured slowly Alice’s speech problems as they grew closer and the pregnancies grew more frequent. He thought that his baby daughter Julia would be the last, but fearing for his son, he asked Alice for one last child, a boy, so they’d have a spare spare were something to happen to Adelaide or Jesse. A son, Christopher, was born, but he was highly sickly and Alice was by then thirty-three. Her body was not the same, after 16 years of constant pregnancies, and soon gave up after the boy contracted influenza, and decided that it was time to place their trust on their firstborn daughter and only son.
Sister nº1: Adelaide Seymour
Tumblr media
Intelligent, pragmatic, witty and bold, Adelaide was the firstborn daughter, and, for a long time, the heir to their fortune should Alice not sire a boy, and thus was educated accordingly, and as two more sisters came, she got more clear that she’d be the their... until her brother was born. She never resented him for it, though and helped in his education, and was the one to remove his speech problems later in life. She was a Ravenclaw and eight years older than Jesse. She became a Lesgislator at the Ministry.
Sister nº2: Blanca Seymour
Tumblr media
Equally beautiful, shy, aloof and with a sweet demeanour, she was sorted into Hufflepuff and was one of Jesse’s favourite sisters, and he related easily to her, and despite her being six years older than him, the two of them kept a close bond. She later became a tutor for pureblood children
Sister nº3: Clementine Seymour
Tumblr media
Smart, beautiful, corageous, ambitious and cunning, she was the first of the famous Seymour sisters to be sorted into Slytherin and chased away the bullies of his sisters and brother, earning a reputation. She later became a Hit Witch and was four years older than Jesse.
Sister nº4: Dana Seymour
Tumblr media
The very image of her sister, Dana had an ethereal beauty, and was as cunning, loyal and highly ambitious, if not more than Clementine, She was very much her father’s daughter and overprotective of the youngest sisters and would become Chief Warlock, and was two years younger than Jesse.
Sister nº5: Ellen Seymour
Tumblr media
Bold, corageous, independent and always knowing what she wanted, she was sorted into Gryffindor and played Quidditch as a Keeper, she was one of Jesse’s references as a child and always admired her, wishing to be more like her, despite being four years younger than him.
Sister nº6: Nimueh Seymour
Tumblr media
Lively, vivacious, cheerful and optimist, with a sweet and loving nature, she grew up as the baby of the family, especially after the death of baby Christopher, overprotected and mostly in the company of her eldest sisters and her brother.
Hogwarts
House: Hufflepuff
Best Class: COMC, Charms and Herbology
Worst Class: Divination
Boggart: The dead bodies of his sisters
Riddikulus: Their sisters do a badly done Irish dance
Patronus: Golden retriever
Patronus Memory: Nadia kissing his cheek for the first time
Mirror of Erised: Having a loving family with Nadia, his family with them
Amortentia (what he smells like): Animal fur, new books, citrus, cologne and a whiff of eau de cologne

Relationships
Significant Other/Love Interest: Nadia Estelle Erbland ( @gcldensnitch )
Tumblr media
Jesse met Nadia on their fourth year, during the sorting ceremony, and he was awestruck by her beauty and air of mystery. Though he was too shy to talk to her, he did stare at her wistfully and from a respectful distance, until he had to save her from an angry Hipogriff that Professor Falcon trusted him with. In that moment, she finally noticed him
They chatted often and got to know the other, and she often flirted with him, making him blush easily, and he helped her adapt at Hogwarts and the language, and he opened up about his family. In their sixth year, he expressed his feelings and wish to court her in the annual Christmas party Lady Gray threw and both of them started courting instantly.
They got married two years after graduating and soon after, their first child, a daughter, would be born, and four more would follow.
Nadia was dearly loved by the Seymours and became an honorary member in no time, stealing everyone’s hearts, as well as Jesse would do with the Erblands.
They lived a happy, fulfilled and loving marital life, supportive of each other and their children.
Friends: Jim Hexley ( @the-al-chemist )
Tumblr media
Both boys found amusing and curious how similar they were: both with a shy nature, struggled to speak and had their own ways to vent, alongside with feisty sisters and falling in love with mysterious Ravenclaw women, both boys bonded and became fast friends, often joking that they were the twins, not Jim and Ethel.
Lyle Astor ( @cursebreakerfarrier )
Tumblr media
Lyle and Jesse were both rather similar too, though Lyle didn’t struggle with speeches and could come out of his shell more often, but was also shy and had a tendency to blush rather easily. The boys were often mistaken as brothers, thing that amused them both. They respected each other very much and were always a part of each other’s lives
Lysander Mercury ( @slytherindisaster )
Tumblr media
Though very different from each other, Lysander helped Jesse with his confidence and speech problems, as well as to wind down and have some fun and even cause some mischief. He was the one who introduced him to some poetry and Quidditch, and Jesse vowed to repay him for it. Though he had to glare and smack him on the back of his head for staring at his sisters
Maxwell Pembroke ( @unfortunate-arrow )
Tumblr media
Maxwell helped Jesse be a better Quidditch player and to get in shape, bonding over having younger sisters and being raised by matriarchs. They were fast friends and even after Hogwarts, Jesse supported his friend by going to his matches and cheering for him.
Galen Stagg ( @cursebreakerfarrier )
Tumblr media
During his training as Mazoologist, he’d befriend this acquaintance and fellow Mazoologist Galen and bond over many things and exchange tales of their beloved ones, and Jesse’s money would be a great help for him to buy his sanctuary and would work with the Staggs for a long time, both being great friends as adults.
Honourable Mentions: Henry of Alderly (dormmate) @gaygryffindorgal
Rivals: None (who’d want to antagonize this angel?!)
Trivia
He learned French with help of Lys after he first talked with Nadia so she wouldn’t be homesick
He is very strong and well-built, and since the age of 15 started to gain muscle, thing that did not escape some girls of his year and younger one’s notice
He struggled to keep up with dense and heavy subjects, but thankfully, Nadia was there to help him
During many years, as everyone noticed that Jesse spent time with girls in a ‘non-manly way’, they picked on him, calling him a ‘sissy’
When he walks with Nimueh in his arms, every elder woman and mother come in to him because, ya know, world’s biggest female magnet (a handsome young man with a baby in his arms)
Nadia woke his thrist for knowledge and be braver
His favourite authors are Jane Austen and Shakespeare
Because of his sisters, he became a hopeless romantic
He wrote poetry for Nadia
His father’s a busy man, so taking care of the house befalls to him, task he gladly takes and proves to be diligent and a good leader to the house
He’s the cousin of Marcellus Throne, for his aunt married into the family

Hey Jake
So drama continues here even though it’s been weeks since that dreadful failure of an engagement party, Madeleine’s family has emitted a statement claiming that they no longer will make business with Rhys Inc given the delicate situation. Luckily they fully support Madeleine, but I suspect it has to do with her being the only heir. To get away from it all, Hana and Madeleine have gone to Denmark for a while; it seems they’re together now that everything is out in the open.
Liam and Olivia have gone to Greece, but on their separate ways, I guess they don’t want to catch much attention. I suppose it’s only fair for them to figure out what they want away from pry eyes.
Drake and Savannah have headed to the States after Sav’s pregnancy was known. Apparently they broke up, Bert’s actions were too much for her, and to be honest I don’t blame her. He had asked her to keep things under the radar, but spilled the beans as soon as his head was out there.
Speaking of Bert, he claims he’s in Canada, closing a business deal, but I guess he’s gone after Savannah, since she’s his mystery girl he was so head over heels for.
Max and I are the only ones left here.
Max is devastated, he can’t believe his brother has betrayed us and torn us apart. I told him this would have happened sooner or later; given that Liam and Madeleine didn’t love each other but somebody else.
He’s leaving to Italy tomorrow, he says he has some thinking to do, and he needs to do it away from here.
Good thing is that I received an unexpected invitation, if not I’d be all by myself. You’ll never guess who’s getting married in a couple of weeks! Kai and Dames!! Can you believe it?
Anyway, my plane leaves in a few hours, so I should keep going. I’m staying there for a few weeks, so next time you’ll read me I’ll be back home for the first time in forever! I’m so excited!
Ri.

And Then I Left You
Tumblr media
(Thomas Hunt x oc*Amanda) in a “what if” version to the RCD/TRR fan fic And Then I Met You Series
A/N Here it is! Finally! The fluffy finale to this series. I honestly loved reworking and thinking about how these two could have ended up together if something had changed in my original AU for them. Thank you again for your patience as I took so long. Moving and unpacking killed the romance in me for a while, LOL. I needed to get my head right for their wedding. And thanks once more to Nonny for this request. Who knew it would take sixteen chapters to answer? As with all my other series, requests from this AU will always be welcome even if this is the end of the main storyline.
Song Thomas chose for their first dance: (I Love You) For Sentimental Reasons by Nat King Cole
Once more the song for Olivia and Ryan's duet 😉
And Holly and Addison couldn't be ignored with their song 😂

Chapter 16: It Had To Be You
"Deep breaths."
Hana gently patted Amanda on the back while a concerned Riley fanned her.
"I shouldn't," Amanda wheezed, "shouldn't have peeked out."
Olivia rolled her eyes. "You've been to balls with more people than are outside."
"Yes, but not everyone was watching me the entire time!" Amanda snapped.
Why did Constantine have to have those pictures taken?
"Right. We have just a few minutes before we are to walk down the aisle." Holly said brusquely. "What do you need us to do to calm you down?"
Amanda shook her head with a half-hearted shrug. She honestly couldn't think about anything other than the three hundred people sitting just a few yards away.
"How about a drink?" Addison offered. "Nothing too strong, but hopefully something that will take the edge off."
"That might help." Amanda mumbled.
"I'll go." Olivia said, feeling useless with this type of battle.
She left the bridal tent and tried to hurry over to one of the bars set up for the reception. No bartender or waiter was nearby. Deciding she didn't need them, she went behind the bar to search for something to either grab or mix.
"What's wrong?" Drake asked.
She whirled around to see not only him but also Thomas.
"Why aren't you waiting over there?" She gestured with a bottle of vodka toward the stage where Liam and the rest of the groomsmen stood.
"We were." Thomas lowered his voice. "But when I saw you come over here, I thought something must be wrong with Amanda."
She quirked an eyebrow at Drake for him to explain why he felt the need to join in on this interrogation.
"I was curious." He grumbled, folding his arms across his chest.
It irritated Drake to no end that Olivia had spent the last two days giving him the slip. He wasn't sure why she wouldn't at least discuss what they had done during the bachelor/bachelorette parties. It stung to say the least that she could practically seduce him without at least a goodbye at the end.
"Amanda saw the crowd and went into a slight panic." She explained. "Addison was the only one of us to suggest a drink, so here I am."
Olivia finished pouring a healthy amount of vodka over ice.
"She prefers cranberry or orange juice with that." Thomas reminded her.
"I know. With the way she's shaking, I didn't think she'd appreciate having a stain on her dress."
"I'll take it to her." Thomas plucked the glass from her hand.
"How?" Olivia's eyebrows lifted in surprise. "You're not supposed to see her until--"
"I'll find a way." He grumbled as he quickly walked to the tent.
"That's not going to go over well." Drake muttered.
Olivia snorted. "If he gets past Holly and Addison, I'll be impressed."
Drake turned fully toward her. "Liv? I need to tell you--"
"I better get back in there!" She tried to escape him. "Lord knows what will happen between Thomas and--"
"Olivia, wait." Drake grasped her wrist.
"The wedding starts in less than a minute." She tried to twist out of his grip. "We don't have time to--"
"I want to be with you." He harshly whispered.
Olivia stilled.
They heard music starting. People began to settle down. Bridesmaids and groomsmen were getting in their positions.
"If you want the same," Drake let her go. "Then come find me at the reception."
Her lips parted as if to respond. Unable to find the words, she hurried off.
****************
"You're supposed to be up front with Liam!" Addison argued, standing guard at the front of the tent. "People are going to think neither one of you wants to get married!"
Thomas merely glared at her.
"We don't have a way to hide her." Holly explained. "You can't come in here and--"
They each heard the music begin.
"It's time!" Riley chimed as she scooted past the three.
Hana beamed at them on her way out.
Nadia and Maxwell followed.
"Thomas, come over here a second." Nadia slipped her hand within the bend of his arm and tugged him over to the backside of the tent.
"I don't have time to--" he stopped when he noticed a small opening within the folds.
"You two can talk here without anyone seeing." Nadia explained. "And, you can hold her hand."
His lips curved when Amanda's hand slipped out.
"Thank you, Nadia." He placed the drink in the offered hand.
She winked at him, whispered good luck, and hurried back to find her place in line.
"Sorry about all this." Amanda said.
Thomas reached in through the opening, taking her hand. "There's nothing to apologize over."
"I don't know why I keep panicking. I want everyone to see how happy we are. It's just...walking in front of them...speaking before all those people..."
He could feel her trembling.
"Then we won't do it."
She stilled. "You...you don't want to marry me?"
His eyes widened. Tightening his grip on her hand, he immediately spoke to nix that ridiculous conclusion.
"Of course I want to! We are getting married tonight. I'll have Liam come into this tent and perform the ceremony for the two of us. Our guests can get over it and simply enjoy the reception with us."
He could hear the clinking of ice cubes as she took a sip.
"You'd do that for me? Make everyone wait while we say our vows privately?"
"I'll do anything you need me to. All I want is to make certain you are mine by the end of the evening."
He lifted her hand to his lips. He pressed a gentle kiss to the back of her hand, one to the inside of her wrist, then a final one within her palm. Her fingers brushed along his smooth shaven jawline in a caress.
"You better go take your place up front." Amanda said softly. "I will meet you there."
"Are you certain?" Thomas pressed her hand to his cheek. "I'm more than willing to tell everyone to wait."
"I'm sure." She finished off her drink. "Once I have you holding my hand again, I'll be fine."
He pressed another lingering kiss to her palm. "Then I will see you in a few moments."
"Thomas?"
"Yes?" He paused in turning around.
"I love you."
"And I love you."
*******************
"Something wrong?" Liam whispered once Thomas returned.
"A slight panic over our audience." Thomas grumbled. "That was the reason she wanted us to elope the night of your coronation."
Liam's brow furrowed in thought.
"Excuse me a moment."
Thomas watched as Liam sought out his father. A few whispers had the king and former king walking toward the bridal tent. Thomas wondered if he should follow.
"Just wait." Ryan muttered, smiling towards the guests. "You can trust Liam to do what's right."
"I do trust him." Thomas explained. "It is his father who I don't."
********************
"Your majesties." Amanda dropped down in an automatic curtsy.
Liam smiled warmly at her. "You look beautiful, Amanda."
A wry grin appeared on her face. "I can't take credit for any of it." She gestured from head to toe. "All Hollywood magic."
He chuckled then motioned toward his father. "Since you don't have your uncle or father here to do so, I think my father should be the one to walk you down the aisle."
"You do?" Amanda looked back and forth between the two men.
"It will show the world once more that the Crown holds no ill will towards you for choosing Thomas over me." Liam explained. His smile grew. "And it will give you someone to hold onto in case you get too nervous and stumble."
Constantine cleared his throat. "I would also like to add that I would be honored to do so." A slight frown formed. "I have come to realize that my treatment of you the night of the ball was uncalled for. I offer my sincerest apologies for the invasion of your privacy and the harsh words spoken afterwards."
Amanda turned from him to Liam.
"He means it." Liam told her. "We have had many discussions these past two weeks over that night."
Amanda took a deep breath and picked up her bouquet. "Then I thank you, sir." She placed her hand in the bend of Constantine's arm. "I am honored to have you as my escort."
Constantine patted her hand.
"Then I guess that's my cue to return to my place." Liam pressed a kiss to her cheek, beamed at his father, and hurried out.
*****************
Thomas could barely stand still as the bridesmaids and Maxwell made their slow progression down the aisle. He couldn't voice his frustrations now that the microphones around them had been turned on. He had to appear happy for the numerous cameras filming every moment. All he wanted was to see Amanda and make certain she was truly alright with everything.
His lips parted with a sharp intake of breath when she came into view. His eyes traveled her curvaceous form clad in the gown Addison had designed. They touched on the tiara Elizabeth had worn when she married Reginald. But it was Amanda's face which had him smiling one of the biggest smiles those in public had ever seen.
She had her head tilted in that proud, duchess way. Her eyes held simply him while she smiled. She ignored the murmurs and such of their audience. Didn't even glance where cameramen stood, training their lens on her. She made certain to show the world that she only cared about one thing.
Him.
He couldn't be more proud nor more humbled that she fought through her fear for him.
Once she was close enough, Thomas not only took her hand, he slid his other arm around her waist. Her chuckle was smothered by the kiss he placed upon her lips.
Ryan, not bothering to hide his amusement, leaned toward them.
"One would think you being a director would keep you from mixing up the timing of kissing the bride." He loudly whispered for the guests and cameras.
Laughter and aw's followed.
"Forgive me." Thomas didn't bother to look at his oldest friend. His eyes remained on Amanda. "I couldn't resist."
His bride's cheeks were pink. Her eyes dropped bashfully away while a tender smile played about her lips. To everyone watching, there was denying the feelings each had for the other.
Liam cleared his throat.
"I have to say that next to choosing my own bride," he winked at Riley, "this chance to officate two of my friends' ceremony is one of my favorite parts of becoming king."
He continued on with the brief part he had in helping the couple get to this point. He shared what their love revealed to him and those closest to them. He then asked Thomas to say his vows first.
Thomas lifted his hand from her waist to gently touch her cheek. He thought over the vows he had written and hoped he could truly convey what was in his heart.
"When I first asked you to come to California, romance was the furthest thought from my mind. My only hope was that we would work well enough together to develop a screenplay and that you wouldn't drive me crazy during the process."
Holly and Addison snorted to try and keep their laughter silent.
"I should have known the moment I saw you that my hopes would change. You did drive me crazy with wanting to have you close at hand. Every thought I had revolved around you and in wanting our collaboration to become a more permanent partnership."
Amanda squeezed his hand when he paused.
"My attraction for you grew beyond anything I had dealt with before. I wanted every part of you to be mine. Your mind, your heart," he shook his head in exasperation, "You became the center of my entire world."
He gently brushed one of her wind blown curls back behind her ear.
"My vow is simply this: I will do everything within my power to show you each and every moment we are lucky enough to have together just how much you mean to me. You will never have a second of doubt of the love I have for you."
Thomas lifted her hand to his heart. "This has been yours from the moment I met you. It will always belong to you and only you."
Amanda blinked back her tears. Ignoring her audience, she tugged him close for a kiss.
"Is this another rehersal?" Ryan teased.
Chuckles and more whispers of how romantic it was followed his question.
Liam merely beamed at them when they parted.
"Amanda?" He said. "You may say your vows now."
She laughed softly, shaking her head as stray tears slipped down her cheeks.
"Thomas, I love you." She shrugged with a smile. "I always have. Before I met you, I loved you for your talent."
"And his modeling days." Maxwell loudly whispered.
"Those didn't hurt my growing affection." Amanda replied, causing more laughter. "Then I met you and everything I originally loved about you dimmed in comparison to the man you truly are."
Thomas pressed a kiss to her knuckles, his hint of a smile growing with each word she said.
"When I left you, I realized how deep my feelings ran. I missed our talks. I missed how you listened to me." She shook her head. "You saw me like no one else, the real me, and made me feel all the compliments you ever gave." She looked up at him. "I missed you."
"You say you wanted my heart and mind to be yours." She looked down to gather her thoughts. "They have been. I have been yours since I stepped off my plane and into your car. Every moment with you has been the best of my life. Your patience, your passion, your loyalty, and your heart are all I want out of life."
She lifted her eyes to his. "You are my fantasy come to life. I vow to do all I can to be worthy of such love and devotion. I will spend the rest of my life loving you, listening to you, and encouraging you in everything you do."
She lifted her free hand to his cheek.
"After all, you made it impossible for me to keep from falling for you."
Thomas turned his head to brush another kiss to her palm. His eyes closed for the brief moment he allowed his lips to linger there, grateful for the one he was about to have for all eternity.
Liam went through the rest of the ceremony. The exchanging of the rings and such made the pair smile.
"I think with all the practice you two have done since we began," he teased, "I don't think I need to say let your union be sealed with a kiss."
"You're right." Thomas pulled Amanda within his embrace. "You don't."
Their lips met in a tender yet passionate kiss.
When they parted, Liam addressed the guests.
"Ladies and gentlemen, it is with great pleasure that I introduce you to the Duke and Duchess of St Orella, Lord Thomas and Lady Amanda Hunt."
Cheers went up as the couple walked the aisle. They quickly disappeared within the bridal tent for a moment alone.
"We did it!" Amanda breathed against his lips. "We're married."
"Now we have nothing ahead of us except our life together." Thomas kissed her neck. "And a honeymoon to plan."
She smiled, looping her arms around his neck. "So much to look forward to."
"Beginning with pictures and your reception."
The couple turned to see Holly standing in the opening of the tent. Her smirk gentled as she congratulated them.
"I am thrilled to say to both of you, I told you so." She motioned for them to follow her back toward the stage.
********************
45 minutes later...
"How you doing? No stage fright developing?" Maxwell asked.
"None for me." Ryan replied.
"A Nevarkis never gets fright of any kind." Olivia snapped in irritation.
"Good." Maxwell looked about at the guests finding their seats. "Once we get the signal, I'll--"
The beginning of a song had them all whipping around in surprise.
Thomas and Amanda walked onto a dancefloor and began to slow dance.
"What is this?!" Maxwell practically wailed.
"Sounds like Nat King Cole." Ryan grinned. "I bet Thomas picked this."
Chris joined their group. "You're right. He said this song was meant to show his feelings for Amanda."
"No!" Addison came jogging up. "I had the perfect song for them!"
"So did I!" Maxwell dropped his head back.
"So we don't have to sing?" Olivia began to smile.
"Oh no." Maxwell grabbed her hand. "My wedding gift is still happening."
"You have exactly ten seconds to release me" she hissed.
"Please!" Maxwell pleaded. "This is the only surprise I thought could truly be one for Amanda."
"Fine." Olivia twisted out of his grasp. "But you better delete everything right now!"
Maxwell pulled his phone out and did as she asked. "Done."
"Let's go talk to the DJ, Ryan." Olivia slipped her arm in Ryan's, leading him toward the stage.
*****************
"I don't think I've ever heard this Nat King Cole song before." Amanda said, gently swaying with Thomas.
"I came across it recently." He pressed a kiss to her lips. "And I realized it perfectly described how I felt when you left me along with my hope when I came here to admit to loving you."
"Really?" Amanda smiled into his next kiss.
"Really." His hand slowly along her back, enjoying the skin revealed in her dress. "You made me doubt I could ever convince you my feelings were true."
She winced at the reminder of her stubborn refusal to hear him out when he first arrived in Cordonia.
"I was heartbroken." Amanda admitted. "I wanted to tell you how in love I was. Then the pictures of your dates flooded the media and I felt so foolish for even thinking you could possibly feel as I do."
Thomas tugged her closer. "All I ever wanted was you."
A wry grin appeared on her face. "I know that now. But back then," she chuckled shaking her head, "back then all I could see was I could never measure up to the women you were attracted to."
"You have that backwards." He leaned down for another kiss. "No one can possibly measure up to you."
"You're being awfully romantic." She teased. "One might think this is a special occassion."
He smiled. "One might be right."
*****************
"If the bride and groom would remain on the dancefloor." Ryan flashed his signature charming smile toward the guests. "We have a gift for you."
Thomas kept his arm around Amanda as the pair turned toward the stage.
Olivia lifted her microphone. "Maxwell did not know that the two of you already had your first dance planned out. He worried over it and found the perfect song." Her nose wrinkled. "Then decided that Ryan and I were the two who should sing it."
Maxwell gave them a thumbs up as he whispered to the DJ to start the song.
Olivia lifted her microphone.
🎶Baby take my hand. I want you to be my best friend. Cause you're my Iron Man and I love you 3000. Baby take a chance cause I want this to be something, straight out of a Hollywood movie. 🎶
Amanda covered her mouth when a delighted laugh slipped out.
Olivia winked at her as she continued.
🎶 I see you standing there and nothing compares. And all I can think, is where is the ring? Cause I know you want to ask. Scared the moment will pass. I can see it in your eyes. Just take me by surprise. 🎶
🎶 And all my friends they tell me they see, you're planning to get on one knee. But I want it to be out of the blue. So make sure I have no clue, when you ask. 🎶
Thomas moved behind Amanda as the chorus began, wrapping his arms around her waist as they watched their friends. His smile grew when Ryan's words struck true to how he felt the night he proposed.
🎶I can see you standing there. And I can't help but stare. I'm ready to bring your wedding ring. On the day that we met, I wanted to ask, if you'd be by my side forever. 🎶
🎶And all your friends, they tell you they see, I'm planning to get on one knee. I'll make sure it's out of the blue. I promise you'll have no clue, when I ask. 🎶
🎶 Baby take my hand I just want to be your best friend. Cause I'm your Iron Man and I love you 3000. Baby take a chance cause I want this to be something straight out of a Hollywood movie. 🎶
Olivia resumed her spot by Ryan's side. The next part of the song had both Thomas and Amanda laughing.
🎶No spoilers, please. 🎶
Once the duet ended, the newly wedded couple embraced the three who made this gift possible. While Amanda laughed with Maxwell and Ryan, Olivia quietly slipped away to join Drake at the bar.
He glanced down at her, then ordered her a glass of Merlot.
She took the glass with a brief incline of her head in gratitude.
The two remained silent as they sipped from their glasses.
Unable to keep his need to know at bay, Drake turned toward her.
"Have you decided?"
She looked up at him in surprise. A slow smile began to form on her lips.
"You told me if I wanted the same to find you at the reception." Her smile turned to a smirk. "Looks like I found you."
Rolling his eyes with a chuckle, he pulled her close for a long, deep kiss.
********************
The rest of the reception was filled with joy for Cordonia and Hollywood's biggest surprise. Though those closest to them never had a doubt how their relationship would go, the rest of their guests were amazed over the way the two freely displayed their love for one another.
Amanda and Thomas seemed to be within their own bubble of happiness. Neither was ever far from the other while greeting their guests. Their dances, the bites of cake, the almost reverent touches each gave to the other all pointed to the fact that despite the scandal, this was a couple truly in love with one another.
As the party grew stronger, the pair were whisked away by their friends.
"I think you two have been put through enough public attention." Liam told them as he opened a door to a waiting car.
"It's time to enjoy being married alone." Ryan added with a suggestive wink.
"Where are we going?" Amanda asked when she noticed Holly putting their bags in the trunk.
"It's a surprise!" Addison pulled her into a tight hug.
The rest of their friends who made this night possible hugged them with wishes for a good night. The group stood waving as the car drove off into the night.
"I can't believe we did it." Addison playfully collapsed against Holly. "All our hard work finally paid off."
"We certainly couldn't have done it without you guys." Holly beamed at both those she had known for years and the new ones she had become close to within the last few weeks.
"I think we work great together." Maxwell threw an arm around her shoulders and one around Nadia's. "Now. Who should we matchmake next?"
The group laughed and groaned at the thought of having to use their impressive powers once. They teased and joked about the parts they played as they made their way back to the reception.
*******************
On a train, heading to Lake Como, Italy...
The private car was just what Thomas and Amanda needed. There was no press. No gawking public. No curious acquaintances. No interfering friends. It was exactly who they wanted from the beginning: just the two of them.
"I thought we weren't going to leave town." Amanda dropped her head back when Thomas embraced her from behind.
"I might have hinted that I wanted a few days alone with you to Liam." His hands drifted along her curves as his kisses grew more heated.
"I see." She turned in his arms, returning each caress and kiss. "I might have also said a word or two about wanting the same to Holly and Addison."
The pair smiled as they began to undress the other. Their passionate kisses briefly paused when a song began to filter through the speakers.
"Where's that music coming from?" Amanda asked.
"Is that...Air Supply?" Thomas grumbled.
Lost in Love was turned up, followed by a note being slipped under their door.
Amanda left Thomas's arms to retrieve it then dissolved into laughter.
Thomas took the note from her. He shook his head with a slight smile forming.
Just because Thomas and Maxwell ruined our chance to have the perfect song played for you at the reception, that doesn't mean you can escape it. Here's how Thomas really was when you left him in California, Amanda.
We love you guys and are thrilled you finally found your happily ever after!
Holly and Addison
XOXO
P.S. We told you you were perfect for each other!
******************
****Epilogue****
Thomas's home, California...
"Here we go." Thomas popped a bottle of champagne.
He filled two glasses with just a hint of a smile upon his face.
"Surely you can do better than that." Amanda teased.
His eyes landed upon her, feeling a wealth of happiness over having her here to share this moment with him. His smile curved more as he took in her shoeless feet tucked up under her royal blue gown. A handful of hair pins rested upon an end table, allowing her hair to finally be free of the formal updo she'd felt was necessary for the night.
"Do better at what?" He asked.
"Smiling." Her own was bright and still filled with the excitement the night had wrought.
"Perhaps you can help me with that." As he passed her a glass, he leaned down and kissed her deeply.
"Much better." She murmured against his lips.
He chuckled, settling down beside her.
"I still can't beleive it." Amanda rested her head against his shoulder. "Can you?"
"I can and fully believed it would happen." He pressed another kiss to the side of her head.
"I'm so proud of you." She tilted her head up for another kiss.
"Of us." He corrected.
"You read my book and loved it enough to turn it into a film. You're the one who guided my writing. You're the one who directed the year's best--"
"None of it would have happened without you." Thomas cut off her arguments with another heated kiss.
She sighed softly, resting her gaze once more on the three golden statues.
"Best picture and best director." She pointed out.
"Best screenplay." He handed hers over to her.
"And we can't forget the Oscars for Jessica, Ryan, and Chris." Amanda added.
"Nor Addison's." He pressed his lips against her neck.
"Your film swept the Oscars." After listing all the others the film won for the night, she set her glass and award on the coffee table to focus more on her husband.
"Our film." He corrected again, shifting them around until she was straddling his lap.
"And look at this very crowded Afterparty we are attending." She teased, untying his bowtie.
"I prefer to spend the evening with the only one who made it all possible." His hands searched the back of her dress for a zipper. "I hope that meets with your approval."
"It does." Her eyes closed as his lips traveled each spot of bare skin exposed.
He smiled softly against her shoulder as his mind went through the past year. Becoming inspired by her novel led to this very moment. Thank goodness he had decided to see what all the fuss was about.
He leaned back to look up at her. "Happy?"
Her eyes opened. A tenderness she seemed to have for only him softened her facial features.
"Beyond happy." She replied. "Even if our film had been hailed the biggest flop in cinematic history, I would be beyond happy for simply being with you." She kissed his lips. "Married to you." Her lips touched his neck. "Loving you." She traced the shell of his ear with her tongue.
In one smooth move he had her under him on their couch.
"I'm glad to see we are in complete agreement." He captured her lips once more in a kiss that he knew was only a mere line on a page of their own happily ever after story.

Secret Marks
Tumblr media
A/N: Inspired by a very good friend of mine who had a hickey in the weirdest spot on her neck LoL.I’ve missed my second favorite couple and their bickering!
Pairing: Drake x Olivia, Amanda x Thomas, Maxwell x Nadia
Rating: FLUFF
Tagging: @alj4890 @vickypoochoices @thecordoniandiaries @texaskitten30 @penguininapinktuxedo @lodberg @cora-nova @sirbeepsalot
“Oops! Sorry!,” Maxwell quickly apologized to each person as he pushed through the crowded ballroom.
“Hurry! You’ll miss them!”
Trailing behind him is Duchess Amanda Bridgerton of St. Orella, trying her hardest to keep up with her elusive best friend.
“Switch shoes with me and let’s see you run in these heels,” she replied. Amanda silently cursed at the designer of the strappy heels she foolishly decided on earlier tonight.
“Hold on!,” she cried out as she stopped mid-stride.
Maxwell’s rushed steps come to a stop as he looks back at Amanda and then to the entrance of the ballroom.
“The ball hasn’t finished. Are you sure you want to do that?,” he asked as she unstraps her heels.
“This dress is long enough to cover my feet,” she tells him with her shoes now in her hand, “Besides, my husband is a movie director,” she said as a smug grin sprawls across her face.
“Wow. Any excuse to fit that into a conversation huh?”
“It just sounds so nice when I say it though,” she said.
“But that’s all you’ve been saying,” Maxwell replies as he takes her free hand and pulls her through the crowd once again. “Come on. I think they’re making their entrance.”
“Almost there!,” he tells her without looking back. Amanda ignores the disapproving looks from others in attendance knowing their attention would soon be shifted elsewhere.
“Excuse me! On your left. ‘Scuse me, ‘scuse me.”
The two best friends manage to secure a place by the oversized doors of the ballroom when they suddenly open.
The lone figure dressed in red, glides through the doors with both elegance and a touch of hostility that discouraged anyone from approaching.
“I don’t see it,” Amanda whispered. She craned her neck in an attempt to view different angles of the Duchess of Lythikos but failed as Olivia purposely avoids them.
“I swear on my life I saw it earlier today,” Maxwell said with a determination Amanda only saw when it came to rescuing animals.
“This is ridiculous Max. It’s not like she’s a stranger to us. I mean...it’s Olivia! I’m going up to her like a normal human being.”
Amanda purposely approached Olivia from behind in an attempt to remain unseen. She refused to admit to herself that Maxwell was inside her head. If it was up to him they’d be here all night looking for something that probably wasn’t there. Of all the nights she told Thomas to fly back to California without her, it had to be tonight. A small smile comes to her as the image of her handsome husband sitting on the plane fills her mind.
“Really Amanda?,” Olivia’s voice brings her out of her thoughts as the red-headed Duchess disapprovingly gestures towards the heels in her hand. “You’re married to a stunt double for less than a month and already acting silly.”
“Wow! Thomas directs and is a stunt double!?,” Maxwell asks as he stands between Olivia and Amanda clearly fascinated. “You never told me that!”
“Ignore her Max,” Amanda says with a wave of dismissal. She studies Olivia for a moment taking in her relaxed stance. To anyone else the Duchess of Lythikos looked unbothered as usual but Amanda knew better. She could sense her uneasiness.
“I don’t think I’ve seen your hair down at an event before,” Amanda remarked.
“Trying something new. Didn’t know I would need to run it by you,” Olivia answered.
“Nice try ‘Liv,” Amanda said with a raised brow. “I’ve known you for over 20+ years. You were the one who taught me that a woman must never wear her hair down in public lest she be dragged down by an enemy,” she added air quotes to the last part. “Your words ‘Liv!”
Amanda watched her friend closely. Olivia’s eyes looked past her to the entrance of the door. Amanda followed her gaze just in time to see Drake come through the doors.
“Why are you…,” she started to ask. But by the time she looked back to Olivia only Maxwell was standing in front of her.
“Did you see it?,” he asked.
“No. But she’s up to something,” Amanda replied. “Olivia has never worn her hair down at a ball. Think about it. Have you ever seen her without her hair up?” She asks as she begins to search the crowded room for her stealthy friend.
When her question is only met with silence Amanda looks back at Maxwell only to catch the sight of the back of his head as Nadia pulls him towards the dance floor.
He turns back to yell out, “One dance and I’ll show you what I was talking about!”
Amanda shakes her head as she watches the couple expertly maneuver on the floor to the rhythm of the music . No one could ever keep Maxwell still and the thought of him marrying someone who shared his love for dancing brings a smile to her face.
“No stunt double tonight?”
Amanda turns to the familiar voice.
“You and Olivia are hilarious,” she says with sarcasm. Drake shrugs his shoulders as he takes a sip of the drink in his hand.
“Sunglasses inside?,” she asked. “Wouldn’t it be easier to wear a polo shirt with the collar up?”
“What?”
“If you’re going for the douche look there are other ways to be less subtle .”
“Maybe I’m not trying to be subtle,” he said as he took another sip.
“I’m away for a few short weeks in California and come back to everyone in Cordonia making changes.”
“They’re just sunglasses. Thought I’d get ahead of the hangover that is sure to come to me in the morning,” he winked at her despite his eyes being hidden by the lenses.
“I guess so. With you wearing sunglasses inside, which I swear you’ve said is a pet peeve of yours. And Olivia with her hair down--.”
“What? Olivia’s wearing her hair down?,” Drake interrupted.
“I know! That’s what I said. One minute I’m talking to her and then the next minute she disappears after she sees…,” Amanda’s eyes narrow at Drake who is distracted with looking through the crowd. “You!”
Drake’s attention snaps back to her.
“You what?,” he asks.
“She disappeared after she watched you come through the doors.”
Drake clears his throat, suddenly interested in the almost empty glass in his hand.
“Uhm...that’s...good. After seeing her on the Council you know...it gets...tiring seeing her outside of those meetings too...you know.”
“Right,” Amanda said carefully. Her lips can’t help the smile spread across her face. “What are you two up to?”
Drake looks up from the glass in his hand and is met with her cheesy grin.
“There is nothing going on with us! And get that stupid smile off your face will you?”
As her smile grows wider, Drake shakes his head in disbelief as he downs the last of his drink.
“I’m leaving now,” he tells her.
Amanda watches Drake disappear into the crowd with a smile still on her face.
“Did I miss anything?,” Maxwell asks breathlessly.
“Just an interesting conversation with Sir Walker,” she replies. “Where did Nadia go?”
“Oh she saw Olivia in the corner and--.”
“Which corner?!,” she interrupts him as she craned her neck to look at the nearest corner of the room.
“I see her!,” Amanda doesn’t give him a chance to respond as she pulls on his hand and quickly leads him through the crowd.
In a darkened corner of the ballroom, the Duchess of Lythikos takes a drink from her champagne glass as she looks over the occupants of tonight’s ball.
If it wasn’t for him, she thought bitterly, she could’ve worn her hair up as she always has. Now she has to spend the rest of the ball dodging Amanda and her annoyingly keen observation skills. Despite herself, Olivia allowed a small smile at the thought of helping Amanda develop those skills throughout the years.
“Damn you Amanda,” Olivia said to herself.
“You too huh?,” Drake’s voice is close causing her to turn to find the man himself standing a couple feet away from her.
“Nice sunglasses,” she said as she tipped her champagne glass to him. A smirk plays on her lips just as Drake clears his throat.
“Yeah thanks to you,” he says not caring to hide the annoyance in his voice. He nods to her hair, “Nice hair. New style?,” the satisfaction at seeing the smirk disappear on Olivia’s face was worth the stares he’s received tonight.
He didn’t need to come tonight. Hell, he didn’t need to come to any of the events if he didn’t want to. But he desperately wanted to see what Olivia would do to hide her secret.
Olivia touched her hair, reassuring herself it was in place.
“I have you to thank for this Walker,” she points to her hair. “Maybe next time you’ll be more careful.”
“Next time?,” he asks with a roguish grin.
“Shall I black your other eye?,” she asks as she takes another sip of her drink.
“Should I even out the other side of your neck too then?,” he shot back.
“I would have never punched you if you didn’t leave this stupid hickey on my neck,” she said in a low, harsh whisper.
“I knew it!”
Both Drake and Olivia turn to the sound of Amanda’s voice in horror. The Duchess of St. Orella steps from behind the oversized potted plant with a delighted look on her face.
“What did you hear?!,” Drake asked as he slips off the sunglasses for the first time tonight.
Amanda’s eyes widen at the sight of the discolored bruise beneath his eye. “She got you pretty good,” she grimaced.
“It’s Olivia,” Drake said angrily. “What’d you expect?”
With Olivia preoccupied at her handiwork on Drake’s face, Maxwell slips in just next to her and moves the carefully placed hair exposing a noticeably large hickey just below her jawline.
“Ooh ‘Liv!,” Amanda exclaimed. “That’s a weird place to have a hickey. How are you kissing her?,” she asked Drake.
“This is ridiculous. I’m leaving. Good night!,” Drake slips his sunglasses back on and leaves the small group gathered in the corner.
“Maxwell,” Olivia says as she places her ember-colored hair back in its place, “touch me again and I’ll give you a matching black eye to match your friend over there.”
Both Amanda and Maxwell quietly watch Olivia fade into the crowd, both aware it was the same direction Drake disappeared into earlier.
“Wow,” Maxwell finally breaks the silence.
“I know,” Amanda says in agreement.
“I still can’t believe you didn’t tell me Thomas was also a stunt double.”

Gotta Gogh [Part 5.2: From Cordonia]
Pairing: Nadia x Maxwell
Words: 2.3k
Tags/Warnings: Canon Divergence, Crossovers, time skips and POV changes, cheesy lines and a sprinkle of angst… maybe
Your brother is the Duke, he manages the duchy of Ramsford and the estate, he has people relying on him and people who trust him, he makes sure that House Beaumonts’ legacy doesn’t go up in flames – where do you fit in?
Where do I fit in?
The limo hits some bumps in the road, and Maxwell hits his head on something weirdly shaped. He comes to a few seconds later, realizing he’s been dozing off on his brother’s shoulder. Bertrand isn’t too fussed, he’s too busy reading something on his iPad. How Bertrand could read in a moving vehicle, he will never understand. He switches it off, uttering something about ‘needing coffee and do you want some?’. But Maxwell knows that his older brother is just being gentle on him, too gentle that it makes his mind race thinking about the worst possible case scenarios. Could all of Ramsford have burned down? Did anyone they know die? Did he get somebody pregnant?
Or maybe it’s just because Bertrand had found him with semi-wet clothes and damp, red, eyes – this sad, sad being that entered through the doors of their house in the capital.
Maxwell shakes his head no to the coffee, then shoves a hand in his pocket to make sure its still there. He traces its rounded edges, feeling its carvings press indents into his skin. And it’s a little bit comforting. He takes it out and looks at this cartoony miniature of the Eiffel Tower, bronze, with “Paris” written across the length of it in big bold words.
He and Nadia had laughed at the tackiness of it all. And yet they wore matching t-shirts proudly saying “Bonjour!”.
So, she bought one of the pocket-sized Eiffel Towers when he wasn’t looking.
Maxwell rolls his shoulders and straightens up, getting stiff in the seats. Bertrand preferred the limo when traveling to Ramsford because of that much needed leg-room, but the carpets and the plush seats made Maxwell feel like the air is being crushed out of the space. Bertrand clears his throat and scoots near the mini-fridge, looking for the cold-brew cans they kept stocked in there with the champagne.
They weren’t going to talk about it.
It must be dragging close to 10 am by now since they left at dawn, and Nadia’s probably already in New York. He can sleep away the rest of the day, judging by how nicely Bertrand has been treating him.
The thing is, Nadia knew him well enough to know that he wouldn’t keep his promise. And so Maxwell found out through the other students living on her floor – Nadia left the day before. Her door was unlocked, the room left empty except for the furniture that came with it. And then he found it, the mini Eiffel Tower miniature, on the bed. He didn’t know if he wanted to cry or laugh as he picked it up. Nadia knew he thought the touristy trinkets were ugly.
What Maxwell realized in Paris is that he’s kind of really fucked. That Nadia is extraordinary, and he loves her.
“We’re almost here.” Bertrand says, sipping his coffee. He grimaces lightly, no wonder in need of a real cup soon. Maxwell nods, knowing that it’s a prompt for him to fix himself before meeting with the main house’s staff.
The limo turns down the road that leads to the vast manor he grew up in. The driveway is long and lined with trees, much like the main palace. He has time to brush back his hair – still feeling weird about its shortness – straighten his clothes, and rub the sleep away from his eyes.
After exchanging a polite welcome with the main house staff, Maxwell has disappeared off to his room in no time – and without any complaints from Bertrand at all, who simply asked him to be present at dinner at six. He tosses off his jacket and toes off his shoes, throwing himself on the bed face-down. His mother would always scold him about wearing outside clothes to bed. Maxwell squeezes his eyes shut, waiting for sleep to come – but it doesn’t.
Nadia never did say anything about not calling.
-
Nadia taps the metal ferrule of her brush repeatedly against the paint thinner can’s brim, shaking off the excess. She’s not sure how much time she’s sat there staring at the painting that never seems to be finished.
Back in New York, and she’s literally watching paint dry.
Sighing, she takes the brush again and scrapes it on the drying blob of blue paint, hardly picking up any pigment at first but eventually it gives and seeps through the strands, bright and blue. Blue.
Stop. Have a break. Nadia decides to leave the brush on the container beside the easel and stands up, feeling the strain on her back and her legs as she stretches. Quickly, Nadia opens her window to let the paint and thinner fumes out – she always forgets to, which is why she’s convinced that someday she would inhale too much and just drop dead. Then she cleans up all the candy wrappers (Gran will find out soon enough that she ate all the decorations for the gingerbread house), turns off the lights, and finally collapses on her bed, limbs splayed out – and she sighs, letting her eyes close.
It’s illogical how she hasn’t been able to sleep yet after spending a long-haul flight watching all the romcom movies available and crying. Crying is exhausting. Turns out dramatic airport goodbyes were just for movie screens – and thank god for that. A sharp pang of guilt shoots through her for lying to Maxwell. But he’s stubborn, and Nadia knew he would still try to see her off anyway.
She rolls over and sniffs the soothing smell of fresh sheets, the same old brand of detergent that her grandma always used. Their grandparents’ apartment in New York is small, but it had just enough space for the four of them for when she and Kai visited over the break. It had a small balcony for an herb garden that only their Grandpa cared for. From outside, the light pollution of the city gives casts a bluish glow in tall shadows across her room. It’s closing in on five in the morning, the sunrise late in mid-December but she can see the faint colors of dawn starting to show in the sky.
Her phone rings underneath a pillow somewhere, its muffled sounds making her heart race the longer she leaves it. Her restraint snaps, and she jumps off her bed to rummage through her room for the damned phone. Finally, she finds it underneath an orange throw pillow. She tosses the pillow away and reads the caller ID.
-
You’re not being silly, Maxwell. All this pressure and expectations, they’re insane and being compared to your brother must hurt.
Maxwell picks at his cufflinks – gold with a monogrammed MB. Bertrand hadn’t mentioned that the six pm dinner would be with a fund manager, an estate agent, and the way too slick and smart Chief of Staff; essentially Bertrand’s right-hand man and the one he would sort of replace in the near future. He wouldn’t be taken off the payroll, of course, but he had always been critical of Maxwell and his lack of involvement in estate issues. They all formally wait in line to shake hands with the Duke and his brother.
But I know your brother loves you, and he’s proud of you and all of your achievements.
It still scares Maxwell how charming his brother could be. He lags behind Bertrand and watches him exchange fond greetings with their company. Bertrand turns towards Maxwell and beckons him towards them. His heart swells when Bertrand pats his back reassuringly as he shakes their hands.
He fits here. Right?
I know what it’s like to not feel accepted or competent – but Maxwell, this is your purpose.
Maxwell doesn’t try to dazzle them with whatever he learned that semester, it would be fruitless since these people have been doing this long enough to differentiate the fluff from substance. Instead he sits quietly for once, listening and trying to absorb as much as he could – to no avail. All he can think of was that call.
You’re amazing, intelligent, and caring, and you deserve much more praise. Your brother understands this more than anyone.
You’re starting to sound like my mother and it’s scaring me.
Why do you always joke?
But she laughed. Her laugh sounded like music to his ears, even though it was in bad quality, crackling audio over a phone. Maxwell is broken out of his trance when the first course is served. Bertrand could tell he’s still completely distracted – although thankfully not as miserable as when he had found him.
I can’t handle it, it’s getting too emotional. He reaches into his pocket again to feel the little Eiffel Tower. I didn’t know how I was supposed to let you go.
That’s why I made that decision for you.
Bertrand and the others launch into a deep conversation about estate issues. Maxwell picks at his food, focusing more on the sound of the clatter of silverware against china. Has it really been one whole semester?
Yeah. It was way too quick. I used to wonder a lot if coming to Cordonia was some huge mistake. Since, you know, I didn’t exactly fit in,
He’s not entirely sure that he fits in here too. He tries, he really does. And he wants to help Bertrand who seemed like he aged ten years from all the stress of being a duke.
But Maxwell liked to think of him and Nadia as pieces of the puzzle that come from two different boxes. They had somehow found each other and clicked perfectly. It’s nonsensical, but it happened. It’s where he fits in.
Then I met you and all that went out the window. I was right where I was supposed to be.
Maxwell keeps replaying that part in his head. He took a moment to answer, willed the seconds to slow down.
He remembered everything, it pressed at him, insistent and waiting.
I love you, Nadia.
Nadia yawned softly on the other line, and then all he could hear after that was her faint breathing. Maxwell is brought back to the present, and he closes his eyes to imagine her face under the soft yellow glow of the streetlamps in Paris – wondering what if.

EPILOGUE
Maxwell steps outside the limo in some street that he vaguely remembers – he could only hope it’s the right one. He tells his driver to come back in a while and smooths down his black button-down shirt, the begins to walk up the strangely quiet street. Well, relatively quiet compared to the rest of New York.
He needed this peace after what just happened, waking up with his mouth feeling like it was stuffed with cotton and a pounding headache. As the one morning person in the group, of course he’s the first to wake up – even though it’s already way past the afternoon. The boys back at their suite sleepily complained about all the noise he made while in the shower.
Ha! “Noise”. Excuse you, I was singing.
After Liam disappeared with the waitress, the rest of the boys decided to fuck off and blow some cash away at the nearest high-end club they could find. He doesn’t remember how they ended up at some rooftop party full of hipsters and catching wind of a familiar name in their conversations. Some rising star in the art world. An art show in Brooklyn. Here’s the address.
-
“Nadia! Hey!”
Nadia turns and spots her cousin, Kai, among the crowd. She quickly excuses herself to pass through all the people – it’s still crazy to think about just how much her work blew up.
“You made it!” She envelops Kai in a tight hug, and holds her at arm’s length. “So? What do you think?”
Kai scans the room with an appreciative look on her face. “Are you kidding? This is insane. I’m so proud of you.”
“Not the show!” Nadia gestures at herself. “Do I look okay?”
Kai laughs. “You look like an artist with a popping art show and not to mention a fat bank account after all this.”
“What?”
“She’s saying you look fine and that we promise to step in once you start unironically wearing… berets.” Damien suddenly claps a reassuring hand on Nadia’s shoulder, holding a drink on the other. His wrinkles his nose at someone who passes by wearing a bejeweled beret.
“You’re so judgmental!” Kai stifles a laugh with her hand.
Damien shrugs and takes a gulp from his drink. “So, who do I have to beat up this time?”
“Ugh, stop it.” Nadia rolls her eyes, but smiles fondly at Damien’s over-protectiveness. “His name is Steve and you guys have to promise me that you’ll be nice.”
Kai nods. “That’s mostly directed towards you, Damien.”
“I’ll be nice, alright.” Damien frowns. “I’m just saying- it’s weird that he’s an investment banker who also happens to be a baker, volunteers at animal shelters, and his name is Steve.”
“What do you have against Steves?” Nadia laughs.
“Yeah! Steves are generally nicer than Damiens!” Kai shares a conspiratorial smile with Nadia.
Damien downs the rest of his drink. “I didn’t ask to be ganged up on like this.”
Nadia’s phone rings and her whole face lights up. “Uh oh, I think he’s outside but he’s not sure which one it is.”
Kai shoots Damien a be nice glare as Nadia excuses herself to go to the entrance. Her heart pounds with excitement as she walks. A cold gust of wind greets her as she pushes open the door, and comes face to face with – Maxwell Beaumont.
She feels like all the air has been knocked out of her lungs as Maxwell looks back at her, shocked.
“…hi.”
FACTS THAT ARE DECIDEDLY NOT FUN BECAUSE THESE ARE JUST DISGUISED AUTHOR’S NOTES also I am sad
-        So it ended! FINALLY!
-        No joke it was so difficult to end this series despite it only having a few chapters. It went through rewrites upon rewrites and even me deleting a WHOLE alternate ending wherein Nadia doesn’t leave early.
-        They don’t end up together in both endings but I have greatly considered just throwing all my plans out the window and have Maxwell follow Nadia to New York. Ah… now wouldn’t that be nice.
-        Nadia literally slept on Maxwell lolol get it
-        If anyone would want to see the draft of the alternate ending I can drop you the google docs link.
-        The epilogue happens on the first chapter of both books where they’re BOTH in New York; Nadia has her art exhibit, and the TRR boys are at the “bachelor” party. Again, I changed what happened in each bc… I can.
 -        Big thanks to @pixieferry who motivated me endlessly to write and her unwavering support, and to @littlecrookedheart for basically greasing the stuck gears (this is a weird phrase) in my brain that finally got me to writing this ending, I appreciate all her help (even the kill someone and Andy cameo suggestions)
- Thank you also to everyone who stuck by this story. I’m so so so happy that I finished it, and I’m so grateful for your patience. This is the first and last fic I will post on this account because I made a separate blog for fics (that’s pretty empty as of now).

Riley had been pacing back and forth in front of Drake’s office for over ten minutes. She knew he wouldn’t like the idea, he would definitely hate it. She knew it and she didn’t even want to tell him anything. But the day had finally come and he would find out sooner or later. Taking one last deep breath, she knocked on the door and heard “come in,” from inside.
“Hey,” Drake smiled seeing her in the doorway. She closed the door and in a second he was right next to her, planting a kiss on her lips.
“Whoaa, getting bold I see. Not afraid someone will catch us?” she teased and he laughed.
“No, my office is completely safe from prying eyes.”
She wanted to say something back, tease him more but the realization of what she had to tell him ruined the mood. He noticed the change on her face and looked so tenderly into her eyes that she almost broke down right in front of him.
“Hey... is something wrong?” Drake asked concerned, gently rubbing her cheek with his thumb.
“I might have done something stupid. No... not stupid, but you will think it’s stupid...”
“I’m getting nervous, what did you do?”
“I...asked a private detective to come here and help us with this whole Cordonia situation. To help us uncover Justin’s scheme and prove you innocent.”
His jaw dropped. Without looking at her, he went back to his desk and sat on his chair, his back facing Riley.
“And umm... he’s coming today. Actually, I just got a message from Nadia that they’re almost here but they made a pit stop because Amy, Nadia’s cousin wanted some fries.”
He turned to her immediately, confusion and anger written on his face. “Nadia is coming? And her cousin? With the detective? What the--”
“Damien is a really good friend of Nadia and Amy. And we haven’t seen each other in so long so she wanted to come too,” she explained sheepishly.
Drake stood up and straightened himself. “So let me get this straight. You contacted a detective, without consulting me, told him my story, without my permission, and let him solve a case that is none of your damn business?”
“I--” she stuttered in surpirse. She knew Drake wouldn’t like it but she didn’t expect him to be so mad.
“I think you should go now, Brooks.”
“Drake...”
“Do I need to call security?”
“If it as effective as in Cordonia then I’m not really afraid,” she shrugged but quickly recomposed herself. “Drake, please, talk to him. They can help us!”
“Go. Away.”
“Drake... I’m sorry I did it without talking to you first but I knew you would’ve said no and I think that’s our chance to--”
“Our chance to what? To get killed? And kill your friends in the process? You know nothing, Riley. Nothing. You left everything and you never cared so stop pretending you do now!”
Feeling that the tears started welling up in her eyes, she quickly ran out of the office, staight to her room, where she waited for her friends to come.
~~~~
“SPENCER!!!” Nadia threw herself on Riley the second she opened the door. They almost fell on the floor but luckily, Riley managed to balance them.
“Sorry, sorry, I’m just so excited to see you!!” Nadia squealed with joy as she pulled her friend into yet another hug. Behind her,  Riley saw a man and a woman looking at each other and shrugging at the sight in front of them.
“Okay, so everyone, this is Spencer, errr, Riley, err, I mean, what do you want us to call you?”
“Whatever you prefer but Riley is fine,” Riley smiled nervously.
“Okay, so this is Ri, Ri, this is Amy, my cousin,” she gestured a tall woman with a beautiful purple ombre hair. Riley wanted to shake her hand but Amy pulled in a hug too.
“And this is Damien Elvis Nazario, the greatest PI known to the humanity, a gentle soul with some grumpiness inside, fantastic friend and--”
“Okay Nadia, that’s enough,” the man in brown jacket interrupted her, “I’m Damien, the detective.” He extended his hand to her and she shook it.
“It’s so nice to meet you all, take a seat,” she let them in and closed the door. While Amy and Damien took their seats, Nadia stayed behind.
“Where’s Drake? Aren’t we investigating his case?” she asked making sure no one could hear them. Riley sighed.
“We got into a fight when I told him you guys were coming. He thought it was too dangerous and it was a stupid idea.”
“What? Do you want me to talk to him?”
“No,” Riley chuckled, “I will later. We have a case to solve now.”
When they joined the rest, Damien took out his laptop and notebook.
“Okay, so from what I’ve gathered, Drake is assumed to have killed Liam, the King, right? And Drake would never do that, correct?”
“Of course he wouldn’t!” Riley raised her voice.
“I just needed to ask. I believe in facts, not in what people say. Drake left a day after Liam’s assasination because Liam’s bodyguard told him he is suspected, right? How are we sure it wasn’t a suicide?”
“Liam would never! He was a mess at that time but he loved that country! He would do everything to protect it!” Riley started having doubts. Maybe Drake was right after all...
“We can’t cross this possibily off yet. But back to Cordonia. After Drake left, Justin turned out to be Anton and a decree that in case of King’s death, he becomes a King, was found? Why did Anton changed his name then?”
“Apparently because he didn’t care about the crown and wanted to find a regular job. And after the decree was found he decided he’ll sacrifice his freedom and will become the King to all Cordonians.” Riley shrugged. “But I don’t believe that. I know he did all of this.”
“And who found Liam dead?”
“I don’t know that. I think a guard that informed Bastien straight away.”
“And Liam’s funeral?”
“Was a private ceremony, however, the television was there when they put the coffin in the crypt. Justin told then he was after Drake for killing the King.”
“Hmm, okay. And everyone willingly believed that King’s best friend would do that?”
She shrugged, “I don’t know, probably not but Justin was my press secretary, he can manipulate everyone into thinking what he wants them to think.”
“So, Drake has fled. Liam was killed. Olivia is missing. How convinient. Where’s Hana and Maxwell though?”
“I think they’re hiding. Drake never called them cause it would be to dangerous so we don’t know for sure.”
“I tried to do some googling,” Amy interjected, “but Cordonia seems like a paradise and everyone loves the King. I once found a negative comment but it was deleted within a day.”
“Of course. Anton controls the Internet in Cordonia as well. Which is weird considering he claims he became a King fairly.” Damien noted something in the file.
“Cause he didn’t. And everyone knows that but they’re probably too afraid to say anything.”
“Give a me second to go through everything again and we’ll figure our next move,” Damien said while flipping through the pages of his notebook and comparing something on his laptop.
“I love it when you’re in your detective mode,” Amy teased him and Riley could see Damien’s blushed cheeks. Ah these two are so clearly in love... Makes me miss Drake even more. I wish he--
A sudden knock on the door startled her as she walked to the door and opened it.
“I thought about what you said,” Drake started slowly, “and I think we might give it a try. If we’re careful.”
In response, Riley quickly pulled in a hug and kissed him passionately. When they parted, Drake broke into a grin and Riley finally felt she could breathe again.
“I’m sorry I yelled at you, Riley. I was shocked but I’m glad you still care. Forgive me?”
“I already did, Drake,” she kissed him again and took his hand, leading him into the living room.
“Everyone, this is Drake, Drake this is Nadia, Amy and Damien.”
Drake shook everyone’s hand, dodging Nadia’s hug.
“Nice to meet you, Drake. I’ve heard a lot about you and I hope together we can solve that mystery,” Damien smiled lighly but Drake only rolled his eyes.
“I would say likewise but I’m not a liar.”
“Drake!” Riley nudged him, suddenly embarassed by his bluntness.
“It’s okay, I’m used to diffucult cliens thinking they know it all.”
“Damien!” This time Amy scolded Damien.
“Okaaay, let’s sit down and see what we’ve got. D? Did you figure out our next step?” Nadia asked, desperatly trying to lighten up the mood.
“I’ve gathered a lot of information thanks to Riley but we can’t do much by being here,” Damien sighed and Drake snorted.
“Well, that didn’t help. Don’t expect a tip.”
“Drake! Let him finish,” Riley turned to Damien. “So what do you suggest?”
“Well... I need to collect more evidence which means... we’re going to Cordonia.”
Bang, Bang pt 2 ~ Sneak Peek!
Up in a few hours, lovelies!
Tumblr media
Looking at Beaumont, Damien realizes all of a sudden how young this kid is. He can't be older than twenty-one or twenty-two, at that age you think you're immortal -- hell, Damien still has to check himself sometimes, and he hasn't even passed the dark side of thirty.
No, this kid has a determination fixed in his eyes that reminds Damien of himself at that age. He already knows it's going to be impossible to get Beaumont out of here without his girl, but he has to try.
"If you run now, I'll cover you, kid!" Damien reloads his revolver quickly, professionally.
Beaumont spits on the floor. "Fuck you, old man! If you think I'm leaving here without her, you have shit for brains! Are you going to leave without her?" he nods at N. "That's what I thought. Now help me save my girl." Beaumont pulls a semi-automatic pistol from the back of his waistband. "In Cordonia, men die on their feet."
"You might get your wish today, kid." Damien's eyebrows shoot up. Kid's got balls. "I'll take out the AK-47, you get Kostas. Once they're done for, we grab the girls and run. Did you say you had a yacht?"
   Maxwell sighed as he peered out the window of Once Upon a Bookseller. It was a small shop, meticulously kept with a wide selection of tomes. Nothing particularly remarkable about the place, especially considering it was the umpteenth bookstore he'd visited in so many weeks.
      The doors had yet to open, the open sign facing him as it had yet to be turned round and he squeezed his eyes shut a moment savoring his last moments to himself. Behind him he could hear Bertrand and his agent conversing with the owner about today's signing and a wave of guilt washed over him.
     He was beyond thrilled that The Royal Romance had been so successful, many authors worked their whole lives to find an iota of the fan base his book had produced. He knew he should feel grateful and yet he felt tired.
     Tired of all the people lined around the corner waiting for his autograph. Tired of riding on trains and planes from this stop to the next. Tired of missing Charlotte, most of all.
     He took out his phone, side eyeing Bertrand as his brother arranged and rearranged the stacks of Maxwell's masterpiece on the table. He set up the perfect shot using his QuickPic app,making sure to capture as many of the waiting patrons outside as possible, and added the text across it.
       "It's lonely here without you 💔"
     He hit send and a few moments later his phone pinged with a response from his wife.
    “ All those people and you're lonely?! It's not like you to shy away from the spotlight…"
            “I just miss you.”
    Maxwell smiled weakly down at the device as it pinged again.
     "I miss you too ❤️ Only two more stops after this, then you'll come home to me. You can do this, Max."
     With a new sense of purpose he jammed the phone back into his pocket, clapping then rubbing his hands together as he stepped up to the signing table.
      "Ready when you are, B." he told his brother jovially.
        Bertrand nodded to the shop's owner as she strode towards the door flipping the sign and twisting the lock. Patrons began to pour in almost instantly.
      Maxwell beamed taking his seat as the first fan stepped forward.
     "Maxwell Beaumont. I'm so happy I finally get to meet you! Your book was amazing I've read it twelve times. I swear I'm your biggest fan! A-after Duchess Charlotte of course."
       He scribbled his name inside her copy.
    "Well thank you. Who should I make it out to?" he asked, eyebrow raised.
     "Oh, I'm sorry! I'm Nadia. Nadia Park."
It's Time to Say Goodbye
(Maxwell Beaumont x OC) in a Choices The Royal Romance/Perfect Match crossover drabble * taken from my TRR/PM/RCD series, And Then I Met You*
Thirty Kisses in Thirty Days Challenge with the prompt: a kiss goodbye
May 2023 Choices Monthly Challenge: last goodbye | weddings | crying
Rating G for angsty fluff
A/N I know. I could have done a romantic story or two about a happy couple kissing each other goodbye on the way to work or something. But I feel angsty today 😂 Anyone who has read this series knows my OC had to watch Maxwell, the man she believed was the love of her life, marry someone else in the first chapter. Though the series continues happily for her with a new love, I thought I should go back to that first chapter and show how that wedding ended. It's a cold, rainy day here in my neck of the woods thanks to a tropical storm blowing through. The mood is set. I'm in my favorite worn out yoga pants and completely comfortable in my heated recliner. Time to get angsty 🤣
St Orella's Ballroom...
Amanda sat alone once more at the bridal party's table. She watched as all her friends and invited guests danced and celebrated Maxwell and Nadia united in matrimony. Laughter and conversations were a distant hum in the background of the music.
She'd always loved this part of a party. At balls and such, she would escape in the midst of it to watch from a distance. It was as if she was an outsider, looking in at a world she'd always been a part of yet at the same time wasn't. It gave her time to reflect back on the people she'd met and her own interactions with them.
Right now, she wasn't thinking about the numerous wedding guests. She was trying to figure herself out.
Amanda didn't really know what she wanted anymore. She knew what was expected of her as a duchess of Cordonia, but it wasn't enough. She supposed that was why she gave in to her late uncle's urges and wrote her first novel. To her surprise, it became a best seller.
Though that new part of her life was exciting, she wanted more. Perhaps not fame, but something different from the life she was leading. More of what exactly she wasn't necessarily sure, and yet the desire was there making her feel restless for some needed changes. She loved her life, her friends, but surely this wasn't all she was destined for...was it?
Her attention settled once more on Maxwell. Olivia was probably right. She should have told him that she was in love with him instead of waiting to see if he might feel the same and actually do something about it. At least then she wouldn't be left feeling so depressed over what might have been.
I could have been depressed over him still choosing to be with Nadia Park.
Outside, she appeared to be the thrilled, delighted to be hosting his wedding, best friend. Inside, she was left with thoughts of what life might have looked like if she had told him.
Given how quickly Maxwell fell in love and proposed to New York's famed artist, Amanda assumed he would have done the same with her if he had felt anything for her. He was impulsive yet always knew what was right for himself. Marriage to the love of his life wasn't even something to hesitate a single thought over.
She admired him for that. While she was left second guessing over everything she did in life, he never once looked back or worried over his decisions.
She sighed then finished off her champagne. One of her servants set a fresh glass down. Amanda wondered if she should drink her sadness away.
"Hey!" Maxwell bounded over to her, leaping over a few chairs in the process. "What are you doing sitting over here by yourself?"
Unable to stop herself from smiling whenever he was near, Amanda shrugged. "Just my usual."
"Uh uh. Nope. Not on my watch." He took both her hands and pulled her out of her chair. "It's my wedding reception!"
"No!" Amanda playfully gasped. "You got married?!"
"I know right?" His grin popped up again. "Come on. We need to dance."
"Wait!" Amanda struggled as he pulled her onto the dancefloor. "Max! I don't have my shoes on."
"So what? When has that ever stopped us before." He bent over and slipped his shoes off. "Now neither of us have shoes on."
She burst out laughing as he did a few slides across the dance floor. He smiled at her and held his hand out.
"Come on. You know I can't let this night end without a dance with you."
Amanda's heart ached. He was always saying something endearing like that. She knew he meant it which hurt even more. He just didn't mean it the way she'd always hoped he would.
She took his hand, twirling in his arms, and settled for this being her only chance to be near him one last time.
Though she knew they would dance together in the future, nothing would come close to this being the ultimate nail in the coffin where she kept her feelings buried.
In this moment, she allowed herself one last daydream of it being their wedding reception. Instead of the pink gown Nadia had made for her as Maxwell's best woman, she could pretend that it was a white dress. She could imagine that he would pull her close to his body, whisper how happy she'd made him, and then how much he was looking forward to their life together. There would have been the playful flirting and innuendos of what would happen once they left.
Everything that she'd once hoped would happen would have to be imagined right now, within the length of this one song.
And then it had to be forgotten forever.
She couldn't live the rest of her life secretly longing for a happily married man. And like she told Olivia, surely somewhere in this world there was a man who was her own perfect match. Though Maxwell seemed to be him, he sadly never saw her as anything other than a friend.
Please let there be someone who will see me as a desirable woman, she pleaded to the heavens. Just one man. That's all I ask. That he sees me, truly sees me, and falls madly in love with me.
Someone who can make me realize that love is more than what I feel for Maxwell.
"You are way too serious right now." Maxwell muttered near her ear.
"Sorry!" She automatically replied.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing." She forced a smile. "I suppose I feel a little melancholy."
"Why?" He gently shook her. "It's the happiest day of my life!"
She somehow kept her smile firmly in place. "I know. I suppose I am wishing my own happily ever after would come along."
"It will!" He squeezed her hand. "You are way too special to be single forever."
"You think so?"
"I know it." He winked at her. "Trust me. Some guy is going to come along, see you, and sweep you off your feet just like you deserve."
"I hope so." Her smile softened. "And I am thrilled you found someone truly worthy of you to love."
"Nadia's the best, isn't she?" His blue eyes found his bride.
When he caught her eye, he blew her a kiss.
Amanda nodded. "Yes, Nadia really is the best."
She meant it. If she had to lose the love of her life, at least it was to a woman who truly adored Maxwell as he deserved.
Still though...
It was killing her.
"Your grace?" Her butler, Hudson, tapped her shoulder. "Forgive me for interrupting, but the car is here."
"Thank you." Amanda looked up at Maxwell. "That's your cue, Groom."
"Honeymoon time?" He asked, his face lighting up once again.
She nodded, smiling once more. "You better grab your bride and get out of here."
He squeezed her in a tight hug then set off across the dance floor to do just that with Nadia.
"Wait!" Amanda snatched up his shoes and chased after him. "You forgot something!"
Maxwell chuckled as he took them from her. "I guess I do need those, huh?"
"They might come in handy." She teased.
"Or footy." He grinned when she groaned with an eye roll.
"I'll have everyone outside ready to send you off." Amanda promised. "Go get changed."
"Right!" He hurried off once more, stole Nadia away from her friend, Damien, and dashed upstairs.
Once the wedding guests were lined up along the main entrance to St Orella, Hudson opened the door for newly wedded couple.
The pair had nothing but smiles shining as they stopped here and there to hug and kiss loved ones. Good natured jokes and well wishes were shouted out making Maxwell and Nadia laugh as they hurried on towards the waiting town car.
Amanda stood close to it. She clutched the jacket her butler had given her earlier closer around her bare shoulders. It wasn't really cold outside, yet she felt chilled from what was about to happen. Tears were already threatening to spill out as she watched them. When they got to her, Nadia embraced her in a tight hug.
"Thank you so much for hosting our wedding! You made my dream a reality."
Amanda could only nod, hugging her back.
Nadia slipped into the car leaving Maxwell as the last to speak to her.
His excited smile softened as he looked at the woman he'd been friends with his entire life fight back her tears.
He pulled her close, wrapping his arms around her.
Amanda closed her eyes, breathing in his splash of cologne, and never wanted to be let go.
"How will I ever be able to thank you for this?" He whispered. "You went above and beyond to make this day special for me."
She laughed while shaking her head, tears spilling down her cheeks.
"You don't have to worry about that." She managed to say.
Amanda knew she needed to say a joke of some sort if they were to ever part.
"You helped keep me upright every time I was clumsy. Hosting your wedding seemed like the right form of pay back."
He laughed, kissing her cheek.
"I can live with that." He told her smiling.
"Me too." She pressed a tender kiss to his cheek.
"Bye, I'll see you soon." He told her on his way into the car.
"Goodbye." She mumbled.
Amanda stood there alone. She watched the car until it disappeared in the darkness. Her head dropped as more tears fell.
After all these years of loving Maxwell Beaumont, it was finally time for the next chapter of her life to begin.
