kinda confused over the people calling dream “cold” and “emotionless” because hELLO did we even watch the same show? he literally cries over jessamy’s murder, even chooses to stay captive far longer than he has to, all because he couldn’t forgive her murderer. he grins from ear to ear when he finally sees lucienne’s lovely face again, whispers her name like a prayer, clasps her hand tightly and takes a moment to let go because he’s clearly missed her as much as she’s missed him. he holds grudges like nobody’s business (see: nada). he hesitates to get close to matthew because he doesn’t want another bird to die on his behalf again. he’s just as heartbroken as cain and abel when he has to reabsorb gregory, and is definitely amused when he meets jed walker. and don’t even get me started on his arc with calliope and orpheus. because even in the short amount of time we see them interact, dream is nothing BUT feeling. he seethes with quiet anger over the woman he once loved being used and discarded like a common plaything, he practically begs her to let him help, and at the end, when all is said and done, it’s revealed that he’s still in the process of grieving their only son, so much so that he can’t even talk about it just yet, even after thousands upon thousands of years, and in this essay i will

The Sandman | Morpheus + moments of rare uncertainty
Morpheus has thought every thought that ever has been thought across the millennia of his existence, so when he speaks, it’s etched in stone. He’s not discovering an idea in the moment. It’s clarity personified.”

Dear Mr Gaiman,
Hello! How are you? I hope the new year is treating you well.
I just finished my 7th rewatch of The Sandman (I am trying to find the comics as well but unfortunately they're not in abundance here in Greece) and I have a question, if you may indulge me. What did you think of Melissanthi's performance as Calliope? It's so incredibly rare to actually see greek actors being cast in greek roles and I was extremely delighted to see her and also hear her pronounce "Oneiros" properly, as usually we hear very butchered versions of greek words and phrases. I can't wait for season 2 and I hope to see Calliope on screen even more, as a character on her own and her relationship with Morpheus as well.
(if you don't mind me sneaking this is here as well, I wanted to thank you for writing The Ocean At The End Of The Lane, it has been my favourite book since I was 13 and a guide for my everyday life and overall existence, I don't know where I'd be if I hadn't read it when I did.)
Your fan,
Iris.
I loved it. I fell in love with Melissanthi's portrayal of Calliope from her first audition, and she got the role despite a lot of the other people who were auditioning having "star power". She felt authentic and really like I was watching something I hadn't seen before.

i watched the meg 2 and it was fun ngl. they had 1 kraken, 3 megs, 15 dinosaurs and a dream. melissanthi mahut got a kassandra reference im pretty sure, jason statham is coparenting a 14 year old with his competitive rival man friend. and this one guy had a murder backpack. jason statham also killed sharks with his bare hands and dived in 25000 meter depth without equipment. I giggled a lot and my jaw was on the floor. If you want silly fun I recommend.
