Neptune and Noodle

So, as most of you who followed me on Twitter will know, my account on there got suspended by a transphobe. As such, all my sprite art is publicly gone. Luckily, I have most if not all of my art saved on my computer. I should probably post all my art here for the time being.

Anyway, here's the sprites of Neptune and Noodle from Underswap MH by @missholoska. I would say that Axe and Sci-Fi are coming tomorrow, but earlier today Holoska, for the first time, posted art of what Axe's armor looks like, and I can't not make sprites for that. And given my bad work ethic combined with the fact I have school, those aren't getting done by tomorrow and I'd rather wait until those are done to release the sprites I already have done, sorry. In the meantime, I will be reposting my other sprites.

Had an idea for a swap AU, and decided to make a quick sketch to design them. More info under the cut.

Basically, everything is exactly the same except Jackson was born the fire elemental and Holt the human. However, growing up in a monster society as a monster, Jackson would be THRIVING. Though shy at first, he would be a lot more friendly and outgoing, easily being accepted by his peers. Jackson gets all the good things he deserves. 

And poor Holt. Being a normie in a monster school, a lot of the monsters are much less accepting of him. His diary entries mention him having a temper, so in this AU, he’d likely lean more heavily into that, putting up a tough front to try to get people not to mess with him. He can be very abrasive and difficult at first, but once you get past that, he’s still a loud goofy guy who just wants to make some music and have a good time.

Youre no bother!

Generally speaking before Danny shows up at Monster High the only pre-established friendship between a MH ghost and a DP ghost is Danny and Porter. Porter is a newer ghost and a more curious sort, so he's wandered off to see what all the buzz is about Amity Park is and also maybe left some graffiti in a few places. Most MH ghosts don't have any plans to take over the world or whatever(Madame Ghostier not included) so they've never really been involved in the Amity Park ghost community(everyone over there is Crazy)

After the events of Haunted and winding up at MH, I like to imagine Danny ends up befriending Operetta. I also think River would like him but in a little sister kind of way.

Outside of Danny I like the idea that the Haunted ghosts would start exploring once theyre no longer isolated to the school and Vandala and Youngblood would absolutely become buddies. The swap pirating yarns and whatnot. Oh also I think Operetta and Ember have some kinda intense rivalry that leads to them also being friends, but they still refer to eachother as a rival of sorts.(they work in completely different musical genres and would not have to compete, but the whole ghost with musical mindcontrol powers schtick puts them both on edge.)

The Johnnys hate each other obvi

Oh but you know what Kitty is an AVID ghostly gossip reader. She has no fucking clue what any of the gossip is about cuz she's never been to MH but she loves the tea regardless.

A fun crack ship would be Principle Revenant and Walker tbh, the two have no reason to meet ever, but I feel like they'd get on super well and make everyone elses unlives worse cuz of it.

yo glad you like the au! I don’t have all the details set in place so sorry if things are a tad bit inconsistent but here we go! (Also sorry for the late reply I didn’t see the ask rip)

Bullying

-I feel that both of the boys would get bullied but in different ways and for different reasons, Jackson would be pushed around since he’s quite nerdy, so I feel manny still wouldn’t like him. However holt would probably just be excluded from things, or have rumours spread about him, but due to him being prone to fighting back it wouldn’t be direct bullying like it is for Jackson.

Holts life in the monster world

-Holt would still Dj however he’d most likely do it whilst in a disguise of some form, (even if it’s just a mask or some make up) as many monsters don’t trust him. He doesn’t like the fact he has to Hyde his identity but the extra money comes in handy.

Triggers

-This may change in the future but my current plan is to have Jackson be triggered by extreme silence. So there has to be near to no sounds for him to appear. As such the headphones double as extra noise if necessary or as music. I also thought about him being triggered by piano specifically alongside the silence trigger.

Personalities

-Holt: He’s a bit of a joker and pretty immature, he likes to just chill and have fun in life. However he is quite hot headed and can have a short temper. This pairs to mean people don’t trust him too well and don’t want to mess with him (well not directly at least, no one minds the anonymous pranks or rumours just as long as it doesn’t tie back to them).

-Jackson: He’s more reserved than his counterpart, preferring to follow rules and structure, unlike holt’s ‘rules were made to be broken’ mentality, he prefers to stay out of the public eye, whether it be due to not wanting people to find out his identity or avoiding the bullying (since I haven’t decided if people know about him and holt yet). His quiet nature means he can be quite the push over at times making him prime for taunts and attacks from his peers.

Out of touch?

-I’m not too sure what you mean by this, whether it be out of touch with monster culture, or out of touch in the sense of being isolated from his classmates. Either way due to his DJ-ing and being a student at MH he’s picked up a lot of monster slang and culture. And as for friends, he’s known Draculaura since before MH and managed to meet Frankie on his first day, so he isn’t alone there. In the au I’ll still have him be friends with a lot of the usual characters (e.g deuce heath frankie etc with some exceptions)

Do they know?

-As of joining MH definitely yes, but as kids their mother tired to keep it secret, as she doesn’t get along with her Hyde, as such it was a shock when during quiet time at school he burst into flames. Holt was quickly pulled from the school, switching between a mix of homeschooling, monster schools and normie schools. Usually not lasting long at any of them, due to his temper and monster side.

A fic?

-Maybe??????? I’m not too great of a writer, but I might work on a one shot or really short fic about it….someday? If I have the chance and people are interested in it I might take a crack at writing lmao

Also yeah,, yeahhh the sibling thing has me in shambles when I think about it, oh and fun fact about Jessica for this Au is that before she moved to live with Brian and Alex and was being afflicted by the operator while shooting wooden beetles she actually did try to get some help but everyone dismissed her claims and called her insane. She first tried to go to the police because like,, big tall slender man is stalking her assuringly and what not but she was dismissed again and again, and then the tried to seek psychological help and almost got admitted into a psychiatric hospital, not fun! She stopped trying to reach out for help after that and a big breaking point for her mentally was when the operator had actually attacked her sooo ya :3

What the fandom thinks:

OK there may or may not be a shipping war between Beiwang and Beider (the ship name between Reader and Beidou). But the Beider shippers are having the time of their life cuz when beidou is on the scene Reader is never far behind, even Thoma had pointed out how close they are, and Kazuha suspects that Beidou and Reader may be more than friends. But most people(nps) just excuse it by saying that you two are just "close friends". As fanfics go there are a lot of aus specifically where Readers and Beidous roles are swapped and there's a handful of soulmate aus.

As seen in the voiceless abb you, you guys have a friendly relationship that may or may not be more than just partnership between coworkers, and that's evident by how often yae takes you off work just to go restaurants and try out their new dishes or when the two of you walk around the shore and talk abb whatever is occupying your minds or when you are sketching in the moonlight due to you getting inspiration in the middle of the night and if you look carefully there's a pink fluffy companion in your lap warming you up.

What the fandom thinks

Ok the fandom itself has mixed feelings. On one side we got the toxic Eimiko shippers slandering Remiko( the ship name between reader and yae miko) with each opportunity they get. While the other Eimiko shippers are trying to reassure Remiko shippers that not every Eimiko shipper is like that and it's ok to ship whatever you want as long it's not problematic. Remiko shippers on the other hand are just chilling and enjoy every interaction there is to consume, and the ship itself got more recognition in the update where yae was released and in your hangout it's obvious that yae wasn't pleased at all when the traveler had to drag reader out of their date, meet up.

You and Zhongli met at the Third-Round Knockout restaurant and since you were the only people left there and it was quite late, he ofered you to walk you home, and in the meantime you guys started to talk abb liues history, afer a while u two started getting closer because of ur similar interest in history, even if u were visiting another nation he would write u letters abb what stories u missed so when u would come back u wouldn't had missed a thing and as per usual he would walk u home as u talked abb ur travels, at this point it's a routine, he will insist for u to talk abb things you enjoy because he loves the look of excitement and passion in your eyes, for him your presence alone is refreshing and a breath of fresh air.

What the fandom thinks

Once again the fandom is having a shipping war but surprisingly it isn't from Zhonchi shippers and Regli ( the ship name between Reader and) shippers, but it's mostly the rest of the fandom debating whether witch one is more "valid". Some folks on tiktok are saying proship this, midship that but at the end of the day the ship itself isn't problematic in any way so yeah. But hey in the lantern rite festival there was a cutscene where the two of you were enjoying a nice meal while admiring the fireworks, also you were seen with him in the end of the second part of the Liuye Archon quest. Also let's not forget the matching compass necklace that points in the direction of each other.

Heads up that this HEAVILY unhinges off of my au/hcs so uhuh! I'm not entirely sure how much of this lines up with the current fanon interpretations since admittedly I hardly interact with the fandom outside of my own stuff 😭😭 gotta change that theres so many talented artists and writers

Getting the big nasty out of the way, Zalgo! Technically connected to everyone! I talk more in depth about him, you can find that post in the creepypasta Masterlist! Might be the first one.. but run down is that hes a weird force/piece of nature/way of the universe and is responsible for the creation of monster characters as well as the means for human characters becoming something else (ex. EJ becoming a monster, Ben coming back from the dead). Human characters that remain human can sometimes become what they did (a killer or otherwise a figurative monster) after coming into contact with zalgo, usually unknowingly or indirectly..

He is quite literally their maker more or less, sent out to cause problems in the world

I would assume many different characters would have different thoughts and relationships with Zalgo, even if they can't directly make contact with him. Zalgo bounces between being tangible and not

Eyeless Jack, for example, doesnt know who or what Zalgo is and the name doesnt ring a bell; having been corrupted through a creation of zalgo rather than zalgo itself. Slenderman on the other hand actively resents zalgo for giving him sentience and a human-like conscious.

Jeff and Ben are best friends, it'd be criminal for them to be otherwise. My take on ben is that hes confined to electronics majority of the time. Jeff Carries him around in a phone, or maybe a DS.. I keep switching between both.. maybe originally a DS but made the switch. Jeff met Ben not long after he mvrdered his and Jane's families. Though there is now a rift in their friendship, mostly due to Jeff still being human and is now a grown adult, they still care deeply about each other. More like a sibling bond as Jeff got older

Bringing up Masky and Hoodie! I tried blending them, eith the crp version and their mh source since I love both versions. They lean more towards the crp take, though, given that's what I grew up with.. finding a balance is a bit hard... moving on, they aren't that close actually. Sure they are still proxies in this au, hence the more crp leaning comment, but they aren't.. friends. They hardly tolerate each other in most scenarios, actually. On the flip side, Tim and Brian still exist and have their own lives, whether or not they're fully aware of the fact they're being sort of puppeteered by outside forces is up in the air.. they're still fairly close in contrast to masky and hoodie!

Staying true with the older fandom, tiby and masky antaogize each other. Usually its toby getting onto masky, though. Hoodie and toby have a rather decent relationship, oddly enough. They aren't buddy buddy, but they are civil with each other. Could be that hoodie is no bullshit + doesnt give toby a reaction when he DOES do something to him

Jane and Jeff still hate each other, with Jane actively trying to hunt Jeff down and get revenge for everything. Jane is the only character (with the exception of tim and brian) who has a job and still interacts with society. I had an idea that she and laughing jill team up (to parallel jeff and Ben's dynamic).. though I might scrap that or swap jill out with someone else.. shrugs

Then theres nina! I hc that her and eyeless jack are close friends. No reason behind that other than "their energies contrast each other. Ej is tired and reserved, nina is energetic and gossipy/chatty" and their visual aesthetics contrasting (dark and mostly grey against bright and multicolored).. though I'm still trying to find a way how they'd meet in universe

Nina is also friends with jeff and has a sibling like bond with ben as well. I think she'd still have her crush on jeff, although I'm bouncing between it being faded or just as strong as it was before.. I mentioned I kind of want them to have a tiffany/chucky dynamic but I need to rewatch the child's play movies to get the dynamic for nina and Jeff right 😭😭

Ooooooohhoho still on the nina thought train but her and Jane would have so much beef. Jane hates nina with her entire being for being so buddy buddy with jeff.. whereas nina just treats their rivalry like it's some high school drama, totally unserious

What made you consider not swapping Chara and Asriel?

It was never a consideration, period.

From the beginning, I wanted Flowey to be the same exact Flowey from UT. That was one of the big points of the AU. I didn't want to swap a ton of characters- I wanted to stick to a small number of characters so I could explore the cause and effect from that and how the non-swapped dynamics would change as a result of the choices of those whose positions would change.

I think there's a big misconception in the Undertale fandom that you need a ton of character swaps for this type of AU to be interesting, but you really don't. Even an AU that swaps two characters can change everything if you explore it to the fullest. For instance, an AU where Asgore and Asriel "swap" (e.g. Asgore is the one to take Chara's SOUL, die, and return as a flower) while Toriel and Asriel are left living would have a DRASTICALLY different outcome than Undertale.

But I think Underswap sorta set this precedent of quantity over quality. Not to say that Underswap can't be good- there are a lot of projects like TS Underswap, MH Underswap, and the like that make it work well.

But I would hope that IF has proven that characters not swapping can still be interesting in these kinds of setups. xD

You've mentioned how you see Papyrus as aroace (which is a based headcanon that I agree with), but do you have any other headcanons in terms of sexuality with the cast?

yeee aroace Papyrus makes my own aroace heart so happy :'>

tbh I don't have many hcs for the rest of the cast, but the main ones I have are pan Alphys and Asgore, ace demi-biromantic Sans, and bi Toriel ✨ though I've seen ace biromantic Toriel a few times this year and might end up adopting it but either way I love that for her

(worth mentioning I headcanon that monsters are non-sexual, so ace headcanons usually aren't relevant, the ones I have are more just 'if that weren't the case I'd see these particular characters as ace')

Some more EAH and MH stuff I made!

Pic 1: Apple Bite, my take on the leaked prototype dress that @luc-elementix posted a while ago. This would have been Apple dressed as/transformed into a vampire and would have happened in The Lost Movie or been movie exclusive dolls.

Pic 2: the Scarily Ever After doll line with Draculaura as Snow Bite, Frankie Stein as Threadarella, and Clawdeen as Little Dead Riding Wolf. (I know Frankie’s doesn’t really match the art, but I tried by best.)

Pic 3: Scarily Ever After Cleo and Abbey. They only appeared as background characters in Draculaura and Frankie’s stories, but I wanted to include them anyway. Cleo is the Evil Princess (/Queen) in Snow Bite and Abbey is the Fairy Ghoulmother (Scary Godmother in my head) from Threadarella. (In other stories, I think Cleo could be Sleeping Beauty and Abbey could be the Snow Queen.)

Pic 4: Destiny swapped Apple Queen and Raven White. Honestly, I just swapped their color palettes 😅 Nothing nuance here except maybe for Apple’s purple highlights. I kind of like this AU/theory. I know some people don’t and Apple could have just inherited her hair color from her dad (he’s stated as having blonde hair in the books), but it’s just such a cool theory to me.

Pic 6: Gigi Grant, Djinni “Whisp” Grant, and Genie/redeemed Whisp

Pic 7: Howleen Wolf fashion evolution (G1 and G3). I really like her second look. I know some people don’t but Howleen’s whole thing is that she’s trying to find herself. She feels like she has something to prove since her older siblings have all done great things. Fashion is great way to do that. She’s expressing herself through her fashion. (I couldn’t get the hair poof that she has in her first and newest look so I went with the braided/cornrow look (I don’t know what hairstyle this is. My knowledge of African hairstyles is abysmal.)

Pic 8: Casta Fierce, Catty Noir, and Ari Hauntington. Honestly, these were my favorite to make. I love that MH made some pop stars. I still listen to Witching Hour and Catty’s songs are so good. I also really like her and Pharaoh. They are so cute and would definitely be THE monster pop star power couple (in my opinion). Ari also has a really interesting storyline. She’s a pop star in both the human and monster worlds.

Day five theme of Belle x Sulley week is Alternate Universes. At first I was going to have the moodboard focus on a Keyblade AU to reference their Kingdom Hearts counterparts or a Car Racing AU to reference their Disney Speedstorm counterparts, but other AU ideas popped into my head and this is what I got.

Avengers AU, as I can see myself and other people portraying them as Marvel characters. Like Black Widow and Hulk.

Monster High AU, since Sulley is a monster and @twisting-echo has featured in the two her college AU, why not present Belle as a monster and have both of them as students as MH.

Dancing AU, thought it would be fun to feature them in a dancing AU. The Breakdancing AU from the Miraculous Ladybug fandom gave me the idea.

Shrek AU, the main couple of the DreamWorks film has a similar energy to the one of Beauty and the Beast and some people have Sulley take Adam's place as Belle's beast.

Role Swap, the two swapping roles and films. Thanks to the Disney item and location emojis, they allowed me to reference the films they swapped as they play one another's parts.
