BACKSTORY
Chihiro was born on January 4, 1998, in Kyoto, Japan, to her mother Ikari Sakura and her father Ikari Michio. She is an only child.
Although she comes from a middle-class family, her parents are quote rich—both of them are dentists.
In 2013, her parents got a divorce. Chihiro moved away with her mom.
In June 2014, she was approached by an SM employee during a trip to Tokyo with her mom. She was cast on the street and became a trainee one month later.
On April 11, 2017, she was introduced as a member of SMRookies, a pre-debut team of trainees under SM Entertainment.
On January 30, 2018, SM Entertainment released a video titled 'NCT 2018 Yearbook #1' which introduced Chihiro, with the stage name 'Ika', as a new member of the group. She officially debuted with NCT on March 14, 2018, with the group's first full album 'NCT 2018 EMPATHY'.
Six months later, in September, SM Entertainment announced that Ika would join NCT's second sub-unit, NCT 127. She officially debuted as a member of NCT 127 with the group's first studio album 'Regular-Irregular' released on October 12, 2018.

So, at Episode 49, Season 1 ends.
Standard arc still has 4 episodes to go around.
So, there were the following breaks:
May 4, 2014 (Between ep. 4-5)
December 7, 2014. (Between ep. 34-35)
January 4, 2015 (Between ep. 37-38)
So, Season 1 lost about 3 episodes. Neat.

For the content.
Episode 48-49:
This is technically the debut of Abyss Actors. And Shun Pendulum Summons with them.
Michio tries to be a hero, but sacrifices himself. Teppei finally finds the value of friendship... in death.
Dennis leaves Obelisk Force guys to deal with to-be-Lancers, since he needs to keep up appearances. Dennis is under the assumption that Yuzu was captured by Yuri, which will turn out not to be the case.
Hikage serves as Shun's replacement sacrifice for Shun's loss. He is too popular, and angry to die.
Sora-Yuya duel has lots of Season 3 GX references. The whole "let's duel where they won't interfere" is copied from Yubel, of course Yuya's "SORA" screams are a reference to Judai's "JOHAN" screams. The battlefield is similar to Supreme King's Castle's bridge.
Sora-Yuya duel is inconclusive, though Yuya is implied to would have won. During the duel, Yuya manages to Summon Odd-Eyes Rebellion Dragon without going Berserk, which is nice. This time, Yuto's essence stops him from going berserk.
Mieru is stuck as our female character for a while, since cast does not know Serena.
Sawatari saved Tsukikage, which is probably why Tsukikage ends up feeling to protect him, he technically owes his life to him now. Shun is also stuck in a similar situation, indirectly by Gongenzaka using Shingo's Pendulum cards.
Sora duel, if conclusive would have been a good way to establish the theme of the series, but alas.
There is a nice book-end with this though. Sora was one of the first duels of the series, so it makes sense to book-end with him. Also, Reira smiles after duel with Tatsuya, which sets up the series ending.

Ya know, I think one of Arc-V's strong points is that when it has a lot of duels going on at the same time and back to back constantly, like it currently is in the battle royal, they never waste a whole episode on a single duel. It's been showing bits and pieces of all the duels, but never the whole duel and it mixes in actual plot progess in between.
Like after the Reira vs. Ayu duel, we kinda don't need to see every detail of how Reira beats Futoshi and Tatsuya. We don't need to spend a whole episode's worth of time on the Michio vs. Halil/Olga duel when it means nothing to the plot. We got through the Sora vs. Hikage duel and first part of the Obelisk Forces vs. Tsukikage/Teppei/Michio/Serena/Shun duel in one episode. All we needed to know was that Yuri is on Yuzu's tail and he's been chasing her down all night. We don't need to waste time on the specifics of that.
Within the first few episodes it was four or so episodes back to back of duels in order to introduce the LDS trio and everyone's decks beside Yuya's. It was kinda tough to get through and I think it could have benefitted from actually showing us some of Shun and Professor Marco's duel before the Yuya vs. Reiji duel. I also get tho that they had to establish who these characters are and what decks they use early on, so it's not a real fault.
But anyway, its nice that after we know what everyone's decks are and what their duel style is, the show doesn't force us to sit through 20 episodes worth of individual complete duels that ultimately don't matter much to the overall plot or don't contain any character development. I get the point of the YGO anime is to advertise the cards, but we all know that the vast majority of us aren't here to watch duels nonstop. We want the plot and characters, and I love how Arc-V is the only one I've watched so far to not waste time on the unnecessary parts. Especially considering how many characters its introduced already.

Gen Ankokuji’s name is 暗黒寺 ゲン, Ankokuji Gen.
暗黒, ankoku, means darkness. It is a combination of 暗, which means dark, and 黒, koku, which means black.

Arc V Anniversary Day 1
Day 1: How did you get into Arc V?

I started watching Arc V right when it started in Japan. I've been a fan of the franchise since the days of the DM dub on Kids' WB, but I didn't start watching the subs until Zexal. I was tired of watching incomplete dubs after two in a row. If I couldn't even get a complete version of the English dub's story, I might as well just keep up with the original versions instead. Plus, the legal issues 4Kids was having at the time made me wonder if we would even get another dub anytime soon. If I did somehow stick with the dubs through Zexal, I'm pretty sure I would have started watching the subs with Arc V just so I wouldn't have to wait a year to watch new episodes.
Anyway, I just watched Arc V when it premiered back in 2014. I never watched any of the streams. I just waited for raws to come out and then later re-watched the episode subbed. At the time, I didn't have huge expectations for the series. All of the pre-release information for Arc-V sounded neat and I loved the teaser trailer of Yuya riding on Discover Hippo with his monsters flying around, but I was just going in with the hope that I'd like it. I do like most of the other spin-off series and even the ones I don't care for as much had some nice moments/elements for me, but I was just going into Arc V hoping it would be a fun series that I could enjoy. I did not expect that it would become my favorite Yu-Gi-Oh! series and one of my favorite shows in general, but I'm so glad that it did in for so many reasons.
I still remember how I felt with watching that first episode. I thought it was a good introduction for Yuya, his friends seemed fun as well, Action Duels looked cool and that cliffhanger ending with the first Pendulum summoning was awesome. I thought that Yuya was sympathetic right from the start, especially with that flashback of him crying so hard all alone before Yusho first showed up to give him that motivation speech. Just seeing how sensitive Yuya was right from the start made me sympathize with him and the image of a small child crying so hard all alone did hit a bit close to home for me as well. The follow up with the second episode with how Pendulum summoning just suddenly appeared and Yuya not even being aware of how he won the duel was really great too. It made me more interested in where the series was going and eager to watch future episodes.
I was hooked pretty much from the start. I loved the characters, the story, the world building, the duels and all of the mysteries they were setting up at the beginning. It was just so much fun to watch and eventually I thought of Sundays as Arc V Days. Arc V was the first Yu-Gi-Oh! series since DM where I was completely invested in it from start to finish and even then, it's kind of different since I followed Arc V while it was still airing in Japan. It was fun to think of different theories early on in the series, as well as reading what other people were theorizing at the time. I started to follow more Arc V blogs here for fan content, as well as live blogs and discussions about/screencaps on the recent episodes, and just kept up with the show. I just wanted to have more Arc V stuff on my dash and that hasn't changed either. My experiences with the fanbase has been rocky to say the least, but I've met a lot of really nice people through the Arc V community and I truly appreciate that.
While I liked Arc V from the start, I don't think I realized how much I liked it, or at least that it had become my favorite series, until the Battle Royale portion of the Miami Championships. I was worried what was happening with Yuya when his Berserk Mode took control after seeing the Obelisk Force card people for the first time, if Yuzu would be safe from Academia soldiers, especially when Yuri showed up, what happened when she and Yugo disappeared and even seeing minor characters being cared like Michio and Teppei made me sad and worried that it would happen to other characters that I cared about. Being that invested in both the characters and the story hadn't happened for me for quite awhile, so it just made me appreciate and love the series even more.
For lack of a better term, Arc V just really clicks with me in a way that few, if any, other series has done for me before. It has a lot of really great and likable characters, the story is engaging, there are so many good duels and it's just fun to watch. Even a year after the series finale, I still love Arc V. I still love re-watching the series, even though I get emotionally conflicted over wanting to watch as much of the series I can all at once and going at a slow pace to savor it all at the same time, still love seeing new Arc V content and it does truly make me happy that many other people still enjoy the series too. Arc V still makes me happy in ways I never would have expected when I first watched it, but I'm so glad that it does. Even getting a chance to participate in the anniversary event and talk about Arc V all month long makes me really happy. Arc V will always hold a special place for me because of all of the good things, good people I've met and happiness it has provided since it began.

yeah just ignore the original Lancers which only had two survivors, one that ran away might I add and the three knights, Teppei, Michio, Halil and Orga were all carded too. Or ignore that 11 enemies came and the Lancers only really dealt with 4. 3 were taken out by Yugo, 3 by Awaken Yuya and Yuzu’s bracelet teleported Yuri before he could do anymore damage. Aka they have an uphill battle.
