dorcas meadows mckinnon? she was so much of a genius that volds had to take care of her himself. she is the brains behind the operation

i hc that they act all spooky on the outside but as soon as they get back to their room they unmask to reveal the biggest group of weirdos you’ve ever seen.

i’m talking “oh my god you’ll never believe the species of butterfly i saw today” and “..so that’s when i tried to explain to him the chemical properties of the patronus charm” and “okay but the way that he uses color and lighting in this painting conveys complex emotions”

of course people are going to think they’re scary- they’re social outcasts, misfits, nerds.

I think why Endhawks is so cathartic for me is that you have two people who have been through a bunch of trauma and made fucked up choices because of it and are both terrified that deep down that they aren’t worthy of love, that they’ll end up alone, that they are inherently bad.

And they are trying, trying so hard to change, to be good, to be lovable.

And they accept each other so easily. Like yes I see you. I see you trying so hard. You’re not hard to love at all. You are a good person at heart and that’s why you try so hard. I won’t flinch away at the hard, sharp edges of you because mine fit together with yours.

And it hits me right in my trauma core.

I just love them. Anyway…

OX is still a master of symbolism and imagery. White butterflies are associated with many things but in particular they are often seen as symbols of comfort to those who have lost a loved one.

Particularly significant and meaningful since He Tian just introduced Guan Shan to his mother. I’m sure it took a lot of trust in Guan Shan for He Tian to reveal himself in that way but he’s ready for it now, they both are. It’s like He Tian’s mother was there to support the both of them, I mean, how could she not support them when all she’s heard is how lovely Guan Shan is. 🥹

some of y’all need to learn how to give better constructive criticism and it shows. so here’s a quick rundown.

Give a positive statement. “I really liked how you did X.”

Then — without detracting from the first statement, and only if the author has signaled that they are open to criticism and advice — give your second, unrelated point.

Critical point:

“I noticed how you did Y. That felt a little out of character to me because of Z reason.”

And, finally, follow up with a broad summary:

“Overall, I really liked this, thank you for writing!”

hi! hey! just a quick note! please don't report 18+ writing or posts, or press the 'missing community label' button!! it fucking kills posts and engagement, which is so fucking stupid when writers tirelessly work to make sure their writing is correctly tagged, and hidden behind the "keep reading" lines.

we can spend hours writing something, only for it to end up essentially shadowbanned from the tags, despite the fact that they gave thorough information on what their fic included before you can even read it. if you don't like something that somebody has decided to post? fucking scroll. it's not hard, i promise.

and if someone wants to come out and say "well, the mature filter is good because some people might not want to see that!", my response is: tumblr auto-defaults the settings of every new account to filter out mature content. do they tell you this? no. do they make it easy to turn off? no. it can only be found on the tumblr website, not on the app. so essentially, everyone who might want to see the shit i post won't be able to, because they might be entirely unaware of the fact that tumblr is cockblocking them to begin with.

Little X-Men rant

Xmen - First Class is The Gay Movie. Charles and Erik are so in love, but their moral difference makes them hurt each other… Also, I didn't like X-Men apocalypse that much cause it was obvious that they were trying to make Charles and Erik seem straight. They gave Erik a loving family in Poland only to kill them after 5 minutes of screen time, then gave Charles an underdeveloped situation with Moira in first class, and in Days of Futures Past they had him stumbling all over her like a child, the first 2 times are okay and understandable, but after that, it's like pick yourself up, dude. You’d think with that big brain of his he has the sense to clear his mind and accept the possibility that Moira might've met someone since they parted, cause like wasn't 2 Decades? And Moira could’ve been such an amazing character, but of course, no one knows how to write women, their relationship would have been fine if it wasn't so forcibly Heteronoormatyive, like she didn't deserve that. It's like they're shoving them together in our faces just so they can be like “Look heteronormativity.” If they wanted them to be together they should have shown them bond in First Class. They could’ve done it so that Erik was open to Charles while Charles didn’t show any emotional vulnerability to Erik. While Moira was Charles's shoulder to cry on. They could have made it so both of their relationships held a weight on Charles making erasing Moira's memories hurt as bad as when Erik left him. 

It was so annoying to watch Erik finally settle down and have a cute little cottage-core family, only to kill them so soon, he doesn't deserve this. Again I would be fine with Charles and Erik having relationships with women if their relationships with women had a deep emotional connection, aka if they were given at least the same amount of screen time together as Charles and Erik I wouldn’t mind them as much.

something that i often feel is forgotten is the way hollyleaf murdered ashfur. like yeah she did go just chomp down on him but there was more to it than that.

the wound was small and well concealed, nobody even knew if he was murdered or not until quite a while after his death. she was careful.

she threw him into the river afterwards if i remember correctly (if not it was still right next to a river). drowning is a common death amongst cats which lowers suspicion even more, it would have been very easy to assume he died on his own accord.

ashfur's murder was clearly not something hollyleaf did in a fit of rage or just on a limb one day, it was carefully planned and well executed (pun intended). in fact, it was a decent while until anyone was suspisous of her. i want to see this side of hollyleaf more. not just the betrayed angry fear, but the cold calculating "did what had to be done" side that is brought out by the former emotions.

Low key dreading work tomorrow guys. Remember the girl I mentioned that I said fucked me over? Well I work with her. And tomorrow is our first shift together after 1. Not seeing each other for weeks and 2. After the drama that happened.

I said I didn't want things to be awkward but I don't think I'm gonna be able to just pretend like nothing happened. I know it would be unprofessional to bring anything up at work so I won't but I don't want to put on an act. Oh well. I'm just going to try and be civil I guess.

Pirates smp is ending very soon!

Kinda sad to see it go, especially since I've barely had time to really watch it. I think that's kind of the unfortunate thing about mostly stream smps. If you want the full lore you have to watch tens upon tens of hours :')

I really *want* to like these smps and watch them but it feels sooo overwhelming to me? I really tried to keep up at the start but then I missed a few streams of the people I watched and I was immediately set back by hours

Not to say stream based smps are bad! But it's just hard to follow the lore at some point :')
