I had a very specific whump idea in my head and I was wondering if you ever saw it. Character A is carrying an unconscious Character B and is about to put them down. Character A (or others on hand) cradles Character B's head as they're lowered so it doesn't hit the surface they're being laid on too hard.
Oh my god nonny that trope is SO GOOD!! I LOVE IT SO MUCH!! It should be used more often!! It's so soft and caring and I die every single time. I definitely have some examples of it.
My immediate thought is this scene in Merlin 2x06 after Arthur takes the potion to slow his heartbeat and breathing so it seems like he's dead. Like, I read this description you wrote and my brain conjured this moment.
Tumblr media
Other good moments:
Hawaii Five-0 10x22 Steve cradling Danny's head as he lowers him into his lap.

Graceland 3x08 The whole team has a hand on Mike but Paige puts her hands behind his head as they lower him into the ice bath and i love it.

Genuinely curious, because you seem to hate the Ram Mandir... or how you think one party/ruling government is using it for political gain/votes or how it's wasting money etc.
What do you have to say about the Waqf board act? Or the infamous Shah Bano case and the way the Rajiv Gandhi government went against the decision of the Supreme Court to favour Muslim patriarchy. Or the fact that the Congress government banned books like the Satanic Verses to please a certain community. Is this not politics of appeasement?
You say that the ruling party is playing politics over religion, but hasn't every party done it? It's not like BJP was even hiding it, they've been campaigning for the Ram Mandir rebuilding for decades. It doesn't make it automatically a bad move.
Besides, Ram Mandir is built through devotee donations, so why so much vitriol against it? If Hindus are giving money to construct a temple, it's solely their own decision. I genuinely don't understand why there's so much hatred for it. If a community is reclaiming their holy land, which had been forcibly ruined and rebuilt into another type of building, it's not a bad thing. Plus, a big chunk of land was given to the Sunny Waqf board to build a beautiful mosque in Ayodhya itself, which has begun construction this year (iirc). Both communities will have their interests restored.
Why can't we move on and celebrate the Ram Mandir rebuilding and inauguration? Is decolonization and reclaiming of a place of cultural significance not important?
(I know that some people are being too aggressive about it, but the majority isn't. They're simply celebrating and praying. And some of them actually got attacked for it.)
Okay. Since you're genuinely curious, I'll answer this.
"Why am I criticising the current ruling party for playing politics of appeasement and not any of the other parties?" I'm criticizing them BECAUSE they're the ruling party. They have been in power for close to 10 years now. That's more than 1/3rd of my whole life. This is a hilarious question because I would've been criticizing the same action if it would've been taken by any other political party. I don't have a problem with the party, I have a problem with what they're doing. All citizens are SUPPOSED to do this, my friend. Criticizing your government on what they're doing wrong is a fundamental part of a democracy.
"Politics of appeasement." I hope you understand the difference between appeasement and religious nationalism. The ruling party isn't appeasing anyone. Their acts are guided by their political ideology of Hindutva. I fundamentally disagree with their ideology. I do not agree with them when they say being Hindu is integral to being an Indian. I do not believe in maintaining a Hindu hegemony in India. I simply refuse to accept an ideology that was LITERALLY INSPIRED BY FASCISM AND THE IDEAS OF RACIAL SUPERIORITY.
"What do you have to say about so-and-so?" You know, I would've criticised things I believe are harming our country and power when the governments you speak of were in power. Unfortunately, in certain cases I was not alive then to criticize them and in a few cases, I was a child and I did not know how to form complex sentences. I do not believe in essentialism, you understand? I do not believe that any religion or political party is essentially good or bad. I believe in judging them for what they do.
"They've been campaigning for the Ram Mandir for decades. It doesn't make it automatically a bad move." It's imperative for you to understand this, it is politically a good move and in all other ways a HORRIBLE move. They get the support of all the Hindus who make up the majority of the population? Decent political move. Who could begrudge them for using DIVIDE AND CONQUER as a strategy? But in doing so, what kind of monster have they created? Have they created a billion people who think religious-nationalism is an okay direction for the country's future? Is that a good move, I ask you.
"Ram mandir is built through devotee donations so it's okay." That's close to ₹1,800 crores. (Estimated amount because of course, there's no transparency in the donation system so that we know who donated what amount.) Do you seriously believe all that money came out of the pockets of average working class Indians? Or did the ultra wealthy businessmen fund this religious project and get massive tax breaks in the process? But yes, I'm sure there's no fuckery going on with the money because it's out of DEVOTION. That makes it okay, I guess.
Now we come to the part that is the worst part of this anon message, according to me.
"Reclamation and decolonization." You use these words so lightly and I find that offensive. These words are HIGHLY tied to power structures. Who has the power right now? Is it the mythic evil Islamic conquerors of 400 years ago? Or is it a political party that believes in hindu nationalism and is funded by the ultra wealthy billionaires because said party helps them get even richer? Who is reclaiming what here? I want you to ask yourself this. Can a powerful majority claim reclamation when they tear down a building to build another building there?
"They tore down the temple and built a mosque there" And now you've torn down the mosque and built a temple there. Congratulations, you've won the game. Where do we go from here? Will everyone be happy now? Has peace been restored? A great evil destroyed? What story are we telling ourselves here? Will the religious fanaticism go away now? Will the hatred that has been cultivated in the hearts of Hindus against Muslims be sated? Or will it find more avenues to spread itself?
Decolonizing the mind, right? I wonder why we're only focused on decolonizing against the islamic past and not anything else. But it's okay that India is currently colonising Kashmir. We don't believe in decolonisation when it comes to Kashmir. We don't believe in decolonizing from the system of capitalism that is choking the lives out of us. HELL, WE DON'T EVEN BELIEVE IN RECLAMATION SEEING HOW WE HAVE A PROBLEM WITH GIVING THE BARE MINIMUM RESERVATION TO CERTAIN COMMUNITIES AS A REPARATION FOR THE HARM THEY'VE HISTORICALLY AND CURRENTLY SUFFERED AND ARE STILL SUFFERING.
I don't want people to talk to me about reclamation, reparation and decolonisation before they accept their own hypocrisy.
Anon, you say have so much vitriol and hate towards a mandir. I should let people celebrate. Did I stop you personally from celebrating? Did I beat up somebody for trying to shove their religious agenda on me? All I did was talk about how sad I am that this is what we've decided to do with our country's resources. Why is one voice of dissent such a big deal to you? Do you want me to shut up and fall in line? Will that be acceptable?

fun fact about Hinata's (proclaimed) stupidity:
In the octogon scene in Japan, Nagito just straight-up started speaking a different language and the way English translated it made it look like Hinata's an idiot.
In the Japanese version of that scene, Nagito spoke English, and people are essensially calling Hinata stupid for not being fluent in two languaged.
:O oh wow, i had no idea that was the case!! it certainly makes the english version make a bit more sense now with that context xD thank you so much for sharing - you really do learn something new every day!!!!!

I don’t think Xanxus is like Tsuna they’re very opposite and I feel the same way with Dino and Xanxus. They were both raised by elderly fathers, Dino didn’t want to be boss, Xanxus did, Xanxus when we saw at first came off as hating his subordinates, Dino was shown to protect and love his subordinates.
Again, this is going to be mostly speculation, because canon shows us literally nothing.
Xanxus DID indeed protect his subordinates, even though it was literally the second to last time we would see the Varia in the manga. It was an "about fucking time" moment during the Vindice arc. So yeah, practically at the end of the series, but still xDDD
Unfortunately all characters suffer fromk an utter lack of character development and from over-utilization for boosting the rates with Jump readers, so. it is what it is.
Xanxus, I feel, has a lot more layers to peel off before he shows any sort of care maybe, whilst caring for others comes to Tsuna and Dino more naturally.
As far as parallels go probably Tsuna/Dino are more on the nose, both being very awkward and clumsy, both sharing Reborn as a tutor and so on.
But the problem is, we never see Dino becoming THE Bucking Bronco. We are told he ndid something, but we are never told WHAT he did, so for all I know he could have pulled something Xanxus too would have done. Lik yeah, Dino saved his family and paid off his debts, but FROM WHAT did he save the family from?
AMANO.
IT'S BEEN 10+ FUCKING YEARS ESCI LO SPINOFF!
And at the end of the day I can't say anything for certain, because at the end KHR was not about Dino or about Xanxus, but I would surely have LOVED seeing more.
The series would have probably lasted longer too.

I was wondering if you had any Stargate fanfic recommendations, my favorite characters from the Franchise are Daniel and Zelenka (I don't know why, I guess I have a thing for sweet nerdy scientist guys), but otherwise I'm really not sure what I'd be looking for since I'm new to Stargate Fanfiction and Fandom in general.
Hi! Sorry this is such a late response! Welcome to the fandom by the way! Since Stargate has been around a long time there's a lot of fanfiction to explore. You can find pretty much anything you like.
Okay well I mostly read hurt/comfort and whump fics so all my recs are in those genres. I don't read romance or smut or super fluffy stuff so I can't be of help there. I do read a LOT of Daniel Jackson fics (he's my favorite).
Here are some of my favorite Stargate fanfics (and yes most of these are angsty and whumpy so keep that in mind if you decide to check them out.)
The Barista by dietcokechic Summary: Standalone vignettes of life as seen through the eyes of Daniel’s barista.
Don't Mess With Danny by Orrymain Summary: SGC personnel learn an important lesson -- don't mess with Jack's archaeologist!
The Stuff of Legends by Nkala99 Summary: Can Daniel live up to the reputations of his teammates?
Best Friend by ivywatcher Summary: A collection of short and not so short stories from throughout the series showing the Jack and Daniel friendship. All episode tags, these can be read in any order.
Going Home by Titan5 Summary: John Sheppard is sent back to Earth to recover from his latest set of injuries and decides to visit his father. He is very surprised at the homecoming he receives.
This one is OC related but I looooove it: Below Decks by DaniWilder Summary: Atlantis through the eyes of archaeologist Victoria Parker. An OC story about some of the unknown people of Atlantis. Cameos by a lot of our favorites.
If anyone has fics to rec please reply!!!

Do you have a favorite small moment of whump? Like rather than a whole big scene something really small and fleeting, i.e. a micro expression, a grimace in the background, a minor wince, etc.
Oh man nonny small moments of whump is one of my favorite aspects of whump. I have so many I adore. The big stuff is fun but when it comes down to it, it's the small aspects that tend to give me those whumperflies. Here are some of my absolute favorite small moments of whump:
When the character is feeling faint and they sway just a little bit before collapsing to their knees
Flinching. Nothing better than a flinch. I love the big full body flinching but even the really small ones that you can just barely notice give me whumperflies
Fevers. Everything about fevers is wonderful. The light blush on their cheeks, laying a hand on their forehead, the heavy breathing, the little moans. Ugh i love it so much
Bruises. Especially like one on the jaw from a punch to the face
When a character has a headache and they close their eyes and they get that little crinkle of pain between their brows
Shaky hands! Either from fear, cold, illness, etc A little tremor in the hands is so good.
Tears!! Come on you can't beat tears!
An arm slung over the shoulder of a caretaker in a support/carried kind of way
Applying a bandage to a wound. My favorite is when it's a hand injury.
Running their hands through the whumpee's hair when they're unconscious/sleeping. If that happens I DIE
Being covered with a blanket when they've passed out on the couch or something
Coughing. Especially anime sick episode coughing.
Hugging!! Hugging is ALWAYS good!
Scar reveals!

History denial (yes we were definitely colonized by the Muslim invaders who broke and looted our temples and forcefully converted and massacred many of our people, taking our temples back is a decolonization movement as pointed out by that other anon). Then Kashmir is an integral part of India denial... how can you even say that.
I'm myself a Hindu and a queer, and reading your views came as an unpleasant surprise. Please go do some reading, and educate yourself about how reclaiming temples isn't about hating other communities. Muslims and other minorities can and have been living in peace with Hindus for centuries. What the invaders did was wrong, and acknowledging that doesn't make Hindus Muslim haters.
You answered that other anon with no reasoning, just that whatever happened, happened before your time. All vibes no research or learning.
Unfollowing. I can make Mahabharat quotes myself.
Tipu Sultan famously destroyed temples as well as donated heavily to temples.
You tell me what to think of that.
Temples have been the site of politics since time immemorial. They were the storehouses of public engagement. And that's why they were attacked. And if we draw this logic to today: Religion is in itself politics. You cannot seperate your celebration of the Ram temple from what it really signifies: The destruction of what is presumed to be a mark of colonization.
Agreed, Muslim rulers did demolish temples. But you take one look at the bulldozer politics of today and tell me: Who is being held accountable here? Are the poor Pasmanda and lower caste muslims, who barely have enough space for themselves to live the descendants of Mahmud of Ghazni? Did they inherit the wealth of whatever was looted from the Somnath temple?
Also tell me one thing: why did the Supreme court not conclude on whether there was a temple structure under the mosque, and still give the go signal? Why was the government assigned priest murdered for stating that the Ram Mandir was purely political? Why were there many 'Ram Janmabhoomi' sites before the Babri Masjid issue? And this is not ancient history, dear anon, this was hardly a generation back.
All I ask of you is to engage critically with the world around you. Yes, celebrate Ram within your house, Mod S and I will not break into your house and laugh at you. But take one look around you as to how your celebrations are actually built on others' misery.
Oh, and by the way: if we as a nation were really decolonising.......why are massive corporations kicking Adivasis of their lands in Aarey, Hasdeo (where our dear Adani is trying to 'develop' coal mines), Gadchiroli, and many many many many places where displacement happens through casteist Panchayat meetings which are held under the supervision of the State (which are not done in the presence of the people actually affected by such projects).
In my head it means one thing: The Ram Mandir is only a carrot waved in front of us to distract us from the real State Violence that goes on. And personally, I think that's a very disrespectful way of using a god. Its actually.....saddening.
Thank you for protecting your peace and unfollowing us, though! I wish you farewell on your internet journey

Hello, Anon-Who-Is Unfollowing-And-Have-Decided-to-Announce-Your-Departure-Because-You-Wanted-Our-Attention,
Well, you have my attention. But it seems like I don't have yours because you have somehow managed to only read one paragraph selectively and completely gloss over everything else.
If you had read what I said clearly, you would have clearly seen the part where I said that the political majority CANNOT claim reclamation because YOU ARE NOT OPPRESSED. YOU HAVE ALL THE POWER. Do you understand this? Or has any hint of nuance completely managed to escape you? YOU, AS A SELF-PROFESSED HINDU, ARE NOT BEING OPPRESSED FOR YOUR HINDU IDENTITY IN THIS COUNTRY. YOU IN NO WAY ARE EVEN A LITTLE BIT HARMED BY A TEMPLE BEING DESTROYED CENTURIES AGO.
You want to talk about decolonisation? Let's talk about how the term "Hindu" that you're so proud of is actually a very recent term and is actually only a thing because the European colonisers just wanted an easy religious box to put us all in. If you're really so gung-ho about decolonisation, please decolonize yourself fully and throw away this term too. While we're at it, let's also examine why your decolonisation efforts are so selective?
"I'm myself a Hindu and a queer". I notice you conveniently skipped over the "dalit" part of my identity that actually might have led to a massive difference in lived experience in this country. I also talked about reparation to the "lower" castes. You skipped that too.
What the invaders did was wrong, and what you're doing is wrong too. Their wrongs don't mean that you are automatically right.
I gave you all my reasoning, told you everything. You skimmed through them and paid attention to the only part that you wanted to focus on.
Thank you for unfollowing, I hope you have a good day.
