the AU is after the Venice incident and Blackwatch's suspension. Gabe is very unwilling to leave Overwatch until Moira finds out she's pregnant. He decides to retire, reevaluates his life a little and focuses on their new family. At first they go stay with Gabe's family in Los Angeles for a bit so that they can start getting their shit together. They both have a very hard time adjusting and Moira still occasionally does work. No way can Gabe tell her to just stay at home plus his condition is starting to get worse. It's harder now without a proper lab and equipment.

Gabe's been survive off medications of Moira's making and also human blood. Normal food makes him violently ill, he's starving and the only thing that kinda helps is the blood. Moira increases the dose over time but the supply is drying out. It's at a point now where he's starting to see people as food sources but he's trying his damn hardest not to give into the thought. He's terrified of bringing it up to Moira or even being near her. He's afraid that he'll hurt her.
The first time he attacks someone was out of self defense. Gabe sitting in his car, having a panic attack, when someone pulls a gun out and orders him to get out of the car. It's during the middle of the night in a random neighborhood. Gabe rips the guy apart, getting that first taste and something clicks in his head. Like imagine not eating anything for days and you get something in you finally and it's heaven. But now he's kneeling over a torn open body, his hands deep into this man's chest cavity with blood drenching his front, and that feeling dissolves into horror. Plus now his body wants nothing else but THIS.
Moira is less horrified, definitely fascinated by what he's done but also concerned as hell. They both think it's a one time thing but that doesn't stop Moira from wanting to understand more. Gabe is just shellshocked from everything and doesn't know what to do. Moira is more willing to help him through it and even helps Gabe find bodies. They entertain the idea of going to a morgue and picking up a body. Gabe can't digest it, it's not the same, plus all the chemicals aren't good for him. There's really no other way but to find poor saps that they run across.
It goes on for a few weeks, Moira has their baby and everything is normal for a bit. It's a boy and they decide on 'Aedann'. Aedann Reyes; and yes they did fight over the last name. The little dude looks like Moira but inherited Gabe's messy curly hair genes( when he didn't shave it all off ). Aedann's eyes are dark brown but the left one has halved with light blue. Moira's heterochromia got passed down. Anyways, Gabe's crying.
They eventually move into their own place, away from the city but not too secluded cause it would be more difficult to get supplies. Moira still helps trying to find civilians but is hella meticulous about going about it. But sometimes shit happens and Gabe ends up eating someone in their neighborhood and she helps him bury the body. Gabe will really eat anyone who pisses him off at this point.
When their kid grows up a little, Aedann catches Gabe one night drenched in blood while Moira is cleaning up a dead body in their basement. So yeah the kid eventually finds out and is terrified at first. Moira explains to Aedann that this is their new normal, she's definitely the one that is explains the details even though their kid is still young af. And the one day Aedann jokingly tells another kid in their school that if they don't stop bullying him they will tell Gabe to eat the kid.
They have at least 4 dogs. One of them they had to adopt after Gabe ate the owner and felt bad about leaving the dog alone.
