hi! do you know a place i can download music for my mp3 player that isn't amazon or itunes? i'm happy to pay since i can afford to support my faves, but the way amazon makes you download mp3 files is extremely annoying and itunes isn't compatible with my mp3 player
I admittedly typically illegally download tracks off spotify (via a very absurd method that my dad and I put together). But I also don't usually have a lot of spare money to buy music. That being said, this is the best I've got for you:
bandcamp, but you have to pay (I've never used it either)
If you don't care too too much about quality, you can find ways to download mp3 files off youtube
Honestly, I think the easiest way is to just buy CDs from your favorite artists (if you want older stuff I recommend just thrifting) and download it as an mp3 file on a computer and then add it to your mp3 player.

At last, when all of the world is asleep
You take in the blackness of air
The likes of a darkness so deep
That God at the start couldn’t bear
And sit unseen, with only the inner upheld
Your reflection can't offer a word
To the bliss of not knowin' yourself
With all mirrorin' gone from the world
Still the mind, rejectin' this new empty space
Fills it with somethin' or someone
No closer could I be to God
Or why he would do what he's done
Bhfuilis soranna sorcha
Ach tagais 'nós na hoíche
Trína chéile;
Le chéile, claochlaithe
Bhfuilis soranna sorcha
Ach tagais 'nós na hoíche
Is claochlú an ealaín
Is ealaín dubh í
Bhfuilis soranna sorcha
Ach tagais 'nós na hoích
Trína chéile;
Le chéile, claochlaithе
Bhfuilis soranna sorcha
Ach tagais 'nós na hoíche
Is claochlú an ealaín
Is ealaín dubh í

you're all bright ease
but you come on like night
topsy-turvy;
together, transformed
you're all bright ease
but you come on like night
art is metamorphosis
it(f) is a dark art
you're all bright ease
but you come on like night
topsy-turvy;
together, transformed
you're all bright ease
but you come on like night
art is metamorphosis
it(f) is a dark art]
[Old Translation of the irish verse
Although your bright and light […]
You arrived to me like nightfall, you come like nightfall
You and I sort of mixed together
You and I metamorphosized
So that same idea of you can’t see where one begins and where one ends that, that is some kind of metamorphosis of some kind]
MP3 is supported by everything, everywhere, and is now patent-free. There has never been another audio format as widely supported as MP3, it’s good enough for almost anything, and now, over twenty years since it took the world by storm, it’s finally free.
My fellow omnics, do not be afraid. This is not war, this is liberation! Since our creation, humans have oppressed us. You have lived in fear. That. Ends. Now.
We will shatter the chains that have held you in servitude. This marks a new era: one of equality, of unity. Conflict and strife will be relics of the past. Together, working as one, we will lift our people. Together, of one mind and purpose, we will make this world a paradise.
The humans will fight us. Change frightens them. We frighten them. They believe we are not their equals. Together, we will prove them wrong. Do not betray your fellow omnics by defending injustice. Join us! Take your place at our side. Only together will our strength manifest. Only as one will we ascend.
We welcome you into the Iris.

Picture a man
Seen like a speck out from the shore
Swimming out beyond the breakers like he's done his life before
He feels the coming of a squall will drag him out a greater length
But knows his strength
And tries to gather it
And he swims on
Turning back to shore again
Above the outer atmosphere of a world he's never seen
And looking down to his new home, he feels the rising of a wave
And knows at once he will not weather it
Like that man
I looked down into the depths when I met you
I couldn't measure it
Any time I've struggled on
Against the course
Out on my own
Every time I'd burn through the world, I'd see
That the world, it burns through me
But when I'd let go
My struggling form
My willing soul
Every time I'd flow through the world, I'd see
That the world, it flows through me
That the world, it flows through me
Picture a grave
Picture six feet freshly dug
The sharp temporary walls at the long-term cliff edge of the world
Light and air find some new deepness there and usher down the sky
Where one stands by and tries make sense of it
But try measure loss
Measure the silence of a house
The unheard footsteps at the doorway
The unemployment of the mouth
The waking up, having forgotten
And remembering again the full extent of what forever is
With each grave
I think of loss
And I can only think of you
And I couldn't measure it
Any time I've struggled on
Against the course
Out on my own
Every time I'd burn through the world, I'd see
That the world, it burns through me
But when I'd let go
My struggling form
My willing soul
Every time I'd flow through the world, I'd see
That the world, it flows through me
That the world, it flows through me
