today was a thing

woke up at like 6AM with a raging SCREAMING tension headache combined with eye exhaustion

i took some of the heavier duty painkillers that i still have from my dental surgery and spent most of the day in a haze of painpainPAIN

i fell asleep at some point and woke up an hour or two ago. Headache's not totally gone but it lessened enough i could make food at least

gonna go back to bed soon i just need to eat the food first ugh

hnnngg last week's akane banashi (76) was so good i can't stop thinking about guriko and maikeru's exchange at the end of that chapter. just everything about that scene was so perfect: not just guriko's heartbreaking admission that akane has overtaken him, not just the "gu-ri-ko" parallel, not just the panelling with the children on the stairs, because that in itself was already amazing! it's just how this chapter really screams "end of summer" to me, it's like you can feel the dead air and the silence and the heat, and almost smell the smoke from the food stalls in the distance. and all that melancholy feeds 1:1 into guriko's mood. *chef's kiss*
