Another thing about ATLA that applies to both the original and live-action is that Fire Lord Ozai doesn't love Azula, he just hates Zuko. Ozai's disdain for his son is the only thing that pushes him to his daughter. If it weren't for the fact that Azula shares the same disdain for her brother, and is incredibly desperate for her father's validation, Ozai wouldn't care for her either. The only reason I can sympathize with her a little is because her dad groomed her to be like him. Azula never stood a chance, really

Guys guys guys I know we gotta give scar a title or motif thing now that he's a winner and you've all been giving him all these cool ones like Mercury and Pluto but i propose Earth! Like look at him he's a terraformer! Plus if you look at it like this the earth is the only known planet with life. It's the only planet that can "truly see". Scar has won twice. He's won with the Sun by dying and now won by killing the Moon. Two things that WE associate with Earth are , you guessed it, the Sun and Moon. Two things we associate with scar now. The earth who's played each game. The Earth that can see the Sun, the Stars, the Moon, and Mars. It's scared by the humans who call it home. It's where WE know capitalism exists. It's where our own greed hurts us. It's the only known planet with life all alone in an empty galaxy. It's a winner standing alone amongst every other planet in our solar system that has no known life. It's the planet that stands far and yet so close to the Sun so that it may give it life and the planet with only one moon in it's night sky. Scar in the end is earth. Plus if grian is the sun then the fourth planet from the sun is earth and since 3rd life there has been four new games...
I hope this makes sense I'm going to explain it better later for sure

Do Dick and Babs really know how to be just normal friends? Seems to me it's always been flirty and intense and intimate. They'll always have this long, complicated, profound history together which is impossibly unique to them. Of course no one really gets them like the other does. They're the original Robin and Batgirl! It's like they've always been partners in crime. And push comes to shove, whatever rift the universe puts between them, they will still be a killer team. They'll always have this profound but complicated love for each other, beautiful and tragic. Like they're always more than just friends but also more than just love interests too. Dunno if there's a single word to describe them.

@digimon02countdown Day 7 - What do you love about Digimon Adventure 02?
While my attachment to Digimon started and persisted due to my love to the original Adventure, there are still quite a few things about 02 that always kept me around. I have already hinted at it in previous posts; the relationships, similarities and support between the "older" and "new" Chosen Children, the concept of the multiverse, Jogress evolution (also the fact that my OTP are absolute dads to the kids)... But I'd say the most important aspect for me is the bonding between the characters. And nothing signifies this more for me, nothing is as outstanding, significant and vibrant - as the development of the relationship between Daisuke and Ken.
I would argue that, overall, no relationship gets that much focus, that much visible positive development than these two. And yes, upon getting asked, I will never deny that, in my opinion, there is a sense of romantic tension between them too, but in this post, I just want to write about how fascinating, soothing and beautiful their bond is to me in general.
Their initial set-up is, once again, that of rivals. That is a theme Digimon has always been playing with - but I'd say no other series threw that trope for a loop like this before. On one hand, there is the fact that they're both playing football, even ending up facing each other at a point in the series where Ken is still considered to be that perfect, untouchable genius, good at and with everything, while Daisuke is considered a thick-headed knucklehead, goodhearted, but brash and not really talented in many areas - and yet, he still admired Ken at this point. Then of course, there is the fact that they're on opposing ends, enemies in the Digital World, having brutal, cruel fights against one another as Chosen Child vs. Digimon Kaiser - until the spell breaks, with the Crest of Miracles breaking Ken's curse.
And from now on, the boy - who's responsible for his own Digimon partner's death and the suffering of so many others - will have to face the aftermath of what he's done, dealing with guilt and self-esteem issues, feeling unworthy and unlovable.
But then there is Daisuke - the only one who immediately wants to give him the chance to atone for what he's done. He is not forgiving him right away, but wants him to be able to make up for everything - and with kindness and the persistence to not let him sacrifice himself and die, they achieve the unthinkable: Their Digimon combine, their hearts pound in sync. They seem to be connected in ways that make Daisuke get excited - and scare the heck out of Ken. He thought he didn't have anything or anyone else but his reborn Digimon partner and family, and now there's this boy he used to fight, he used to be enemies with... Who simply wants to be his friend, who wants them to be "partners" and work together.
It's confusing, it's scary. While Daisuke is sure that they're meant to be and fight next to each other, it takes time for Ken to feel ready to take the steps towards him, the others, forming bonds, friendships. But Daisuke being Daisuke makes it so much easier for him to let his walls down, slowly but steadily enabling him to show his gentle and soft side, starting to trust and rely on him as much as he does in return.
And Daisuke? Daisuke is displaying a sense of confidence and comfort that we rarely saw before - he tended to be so focused on impressing others, covering up his own insecurities with cockiness. But his bond with Ken makes all his natural kindness and straightforwardness come through easily. He may appear more simple-minded at first glance, but his heart has the right priorities - and he'll do what it takes to save Ken, from himself, from darkness, helping him to be his true self.
Daisuke doesn't doubt their connection for a second - and that's why it's so important that Ken is still able to shake him. That he has an impact on him like no other. He will give Ken all the time he needs to face his demons, to do the things that are uncomfortable to him - and he'll be by his side all the way.
They are partners, they've got each other's backs. And as long as they don't lose sight of themselves and each other, it will always be this way.

why is there even discourse ya'll 😭
fabian and riz, romantic/qpr, does not erase riz's asexual identity, nor does it erase his aromantic identity.
the aromantic identity can be displayed in a numerous amount of ways, and none of those ways undermines the other.
you can interpret fanart and other fabriz content in soo many different ways, providing you with the representation you want, but one thing has to stay true and it's that no one should shit on other people's interpretations of the way they portray riz's queer identity.
if people want to look at fabriz content as platonic/qpr, that's all fine and good
if people want to interpret it as romantic, it's also fine and good!
the only thing is that no one should label fabriz as "only romantic" or "only platonic" and then believe that to be so and then enforce it on others.
riz is like,, one of the only good reps we have of the aro/ace identity, surely the entire community can share him 😭 we can all project on him together
and create the stuff u want to see of him!!! if ur complaint is that all the riz stuff is just "fabriz" (which it definitely, 100% isnt), then create stuff of him! you have that power!!! create art, create headcanons, create theories and fanfics!!!! the more content there is, the more variety there will be, and that means there will be more facets of the aroace identity being represented.

As a muslim, i really appreciate the idea of the saudi race being on Saturday instead of Sunday and i hate how its backfiring on us. Please stop turning this little gesture towards muslim into something political.
So our Ramadan might start on 10 or 11 of march (depends upon the moon sighting) and i want you all to know its not really because we can’t “function” due to ourfast. Ask any muslim they’d tell you how much we enjoy this month, how we still have normal work days, exams etc and how muslim athletes still fast and play during this month. It’s about the place really and how important the land of saudi arab is for us. And how the whole vibe around our countries changes during Ramadan. And many muslims from around the world like to spend this holy month in Mecca, Madina.
And the change in bahrain schedule is prolly because it’s only a week before the saudi gp so they might need time for preparation, packing, unpacking and all.
And in the end, its just a race? Whether its on sunday or Saturday. It’s a one step towards positivity and i hope fia can acknowledge and respect other religions and communities someday too. Peace.

i think the one thing that really bothers me about celebrities reading fan fiction is it’s never done in an appreciative way. it’s never done with them praising someone being creative or have a hobby or existing in a safe space on the internet. for many people, fandom is that safe escapism from their every day life, and in many ways, these spaces are often occupied by queer people creating a community or even just existing in a way that is productive and mentally healthy for them. and then you have a celebrity awkardly read a fan fiction (gay, straight, doesn’t matter) and it’s made into a mockery. suddenly it’s weird and gross and immoral and although criticsm has always existed about fandom and fic, it feels so much more harmful when it comes from someone that is admired and looked up to. that maybe that writer was really inspired by and is now being mocked by thousands of people. even if the celebrity is kind and doesn’t say anything necessarily rude, it still opens up the commentary for another ‘crazy obsessed fic writer’ and it’s just so demeaning and demoralizing.

something something the revenge versions of mcr all grew old except for mikey, he is young and covered in blood. Something something gerard wrote brother cause he was scared of losing mikey. Something something there’s an alternative version of the story where they all didn’t make it to this tour, where mikey dies young. Where someone dies young. Stuck in limbo.
Alternatively he saw them being covered in makeup and said ,, lol have fun w that not me though, hand me that bottle of fake blood.

What drives me even more insane about this scene is how you'd expect Gojo to imagine High school era! Geto in the crowd. Or at least not the cult leader, worst of all the curse users Geto Suguru. But no, it's the cult leader Geto. It's Geto as Gojo last remembered him. As Geto last was. Whatever choices Geto made, wherever his choices led him and them, however he was, whoever he was, traumas and messed up ideas and bad choices and ill reputations and scorns and all. Gojo wanted Geto Suguru there. Not any ideal version. Not any "what if" version. Not any "at some point in time before things went downhill" version. Not any "when your hands weren't stained with innocent blood" version. He knew very well what he wanted. And he wanted it all the same. He wanted Geto Suguru. However he was. He just wanted him to be there. He just wanted him to be.
And he didn't want him to help him, he didn't want him to fight with him even if they were strongest together and always fought together for a while. He just wanted him to be there in the crowd and cheer him on. He just wanted him to stand there and give him one of his sweet, heartwarming smiles that shaped his eyes into crescent moons. He just wanted him to be. Then even if Gojo had died in the end anyway, he would have been satisfied. It would have been worth it. Only if Geto was there.

goddddd black sails is still so good. the very last line of the first episode: we see max leave eleanor's bed, walk up to jack, and crawl into his lap. anne interprets this as a come-on and gets angry, and then max tells him: "i think i have something you might want to buy."
and like, coming from max, that could still be a come-on. when she's at work, sex is a viable business proposition -- the expected one, from her and her coworkers. jack's perception of the moment very well might not have changed yet.
but we as the viewers instantly know that she's referring to the page. we the viewers are also privileged in our knowledge that she just left eleanor's bed -- which was not strictly for work. she's just "the whore" to those around her, but look, her business proposition is all high-handed crew politics, and the last person she slept with she had personal motives for pursuing. there's a woman on your lap in a brothel offering to sell you something, and everything you think you know about her and sex and business is wrong in this moment. and she is still very much a sex worker, which we will see her suffer for and excel at and leverage to her own ends in a thousand different ways as the story goes on. it's not a simple rug pull, but a single layered, cohesive, portrait.
it's such a cool little microcosm of the way the show plays with expectations to add the depth and color that it does to those the empire flattens and sweeps to the side. nobody is ever just one thing, the reduction of themselves. and nobody is ever seen by those around them the way they are by us, who see all. and so much of the action stems from them being all too aware of the importance of that perception and the assumptions it carries. it's so refreshing to be invited to look so deeply and see more everywhere your eye could possibly land.

Ahaha ok so for the record:
I'd be more surprised to open the door to a walrus than a fairy because appearing on a doorstep is within the realm of fairy activities. It's almost expected even. No one ever expects a walrus visit. The leap in logic is simply not as extreme. To me.
However I am more scared of, as well as more likely to lose a fight to, a walrus over a legion of fairies. I've never seen a walrus in real life but I've seen the taxidermy one at the museum and they're HUGE. And SCARY. The thing is, I'm picturing a scenario where I am fighting a bunch of tinkerbell sized garden fairies. Sure they can do magic, but they aren't like. Courtly fae. I'm not fighting Titania herself, I assume. Moreover, the fae have rules. Walruses do not have rules. If I'm crafty there's a precedent for beating the fae. There is no precedent for unarmed little me beating a walrus. I'll take the fairies.
