Fundraiser: Headphones for A Poor Neurodivergent Queer Person With Anxiety

Hey, so uh, I'm raising money to get a new pair of bluetooth headphones. I deal with a lot of anxiety and sensory overload, and noise is one of my biggest triggers. Hearing talking from downstairs and wood creaking outside my door is enough to make me feel sick and start crying. My current headphones are falling apart, are shit at blocking noise, and I don't know how much longer they will last. The people I am reliant on financially refuse to get me a new set that's good quality. I know I'm kind of going for the moon here, but my ideal pair are Sony WH-1000XM5 Noise-Canceling Headphones. Online for a new pair, they go for about $400. Ouch. I don't have that kind of money on hand.

So I'm opening up urgent commissions for sigils here and general artwork over on my other account (@sagewing on tumblr and @/sagew.ing on instagram) in an effort to raise the money I need to get these. Payment is via P**P*l. I am also accepting donations if you're feeling kind enough.

I draw all my sigils manually. I can do any intention aside from medical/legal/unethical/hateful things.

$3 for a plain black and white sigil, no background or color. Includes a surrounding ring with inscription

$10 for a deluxe sigil with color, background, inscription ring, and watercolor effects. +$3 if you want collage elements included

I will draw pretty much anything aside from NSFW, hateful content, mechs, or proship content. I specialize in furries and humans, not so much backgrounds.

Artwork Prices:

$6 for a sketch with no color. +$2 for flat colors

$15 for lineart with no color. +$3 for flat colors

$25 for a fully rendered piece. Includes lineart, colors, shading, a simple background, and effects

Sooo... I finally bought good headphones with ANC!! Their model is Sony WH-1000XM4 and they're VERY expensive, but I tested them today and their ANC and sound quality are really amazing!! (I still need to test them at school, uh). And, what's really great, they're so soft and comfortable! I can use them for a long time and my head won't hurt! And their functions are really amazing too, I can do so much with just gestures and skffmsstmstk. I really really recommend them 💖

(I finally won't suffer because of too loud sounds, I can't... I can't even say how happy I am.)

I just went to my first school party (ever). The music was loud and everyone had raised voices. I sat there overstimulated for a good 10min, but after hesitating I allowed myself to slip on my noise cancelling headphones.

And then it was RIGHT.

I could get up and move around and talk to people. And I did! And I socialized and partied!!

After a bit someone asked what music I was listening to. I explained it was just noise cancelling and they were like "oh, yeah okay, that's cool." Another person complimented them and we talked about headphones for awhile.

NOBODY gave me any weird looks or negative comments for staying at the back of the group and wearing headphones.

IT WAS THE BEST

And it wouldn't have happened if I "toughed it out" and didn't put on those headphones.

What noise cancelling headphones do you all use for gaming? I have AirPods but they don’t work the greatest for noise cancelling especially if I’m playing Sims 3 and my laptop fans are going on. I’d like to be able to play without having to hear them when I’m playing. I know the headphones wont get rid of the noise completely but as long as they get rid of most of the sound I wouldn’t mind.
