My Rogue Trader brainrot is so bad.

#i didn't expect to be that into it . . . one character creation + prologue later and i was obsessed #i meant to make a character and then wait for a few months while the inevitable owlcat bugs got ironed out #now i'm totally in love with the game #yes it is badly buggy but once those bugs are fixed? amazing game.#i love my character and all the companions and the creepy setting that has more lore than i know what to do with #which as a lore nerd i'm very happy about #there are some annoying mini game things which is typical owlcat but other than that i'm enjoying myself immensely #tbh one of my bg3 disappointments was the lore was so watered down and flatly incorrect at times on simple things #so a game that throws me into dense apparently accurate lore makes me happy

I finished that dressup game I said I was working on !! would very appreciate people giving it a go because I spent literally a week on this. like 7 days off work doing nothing but drawing clothes lmao

in order to make the different body types work without ballooning up the file size way more than it already is, I had to make it so you choose your skin tone twice. in meiker you can't arrange the order elements appear in, but I recommend starting with these two options to pick out your body type and skin tone first, since some options look better on certain bodies imo

also !! meiker !! I don't hear people talk about it much, but it's really cool I like it a lot! it's like picrew, but instead of uploading a bunch of pngs, you arrange and label your layers in folders and upload a single psd file. personally I liked the process a lot more than picrew because I'd rather work with one big file than a million tiny image files, but that's just me. plus you can make the images bigger than you can on picrew too

also posting this again since I can attach it to a post with the game, but I made a tutorial on how to create a bunch of colour options super fast if you want to make your own dressup game. there's no way I'd have nearly as many options if I didn't know how to do this. once you understand the actions feature you can do so much stuff so much more efficiently it's insane it's like my favourite photoshop feature

one thing i think yo-kai watch excels at more than pokemon is that like. any yo-kai can be good really. in pokemon there's some pokemon that are just unfortunately not that great (like hoppip. i love hoppip but god it sucks) but like i said, you can really make any yo-kai good with the right attitude, equipment and strategizing.

,,, and yet every post-game team in yo-kai watch still ends up looking the exact same-

#puppy rambles #yo-kai watch #basically every post-game team i see for 3 is like. a bunch of enmas and like. shogunyan or someone #i get it for competitive teams i never played competitive (and probably won't even once pretendo gets yo-kai watch servers)#but i'm sure some yo-kai are worse in competitive than casually due to the various restrictions #i mean. you can theoretically make any pokemon good too but it takes a lot more effort than in yo-kai watch #where it's really just like. put good equipment on them and have the best attitude-#i love pokemon very much still. and i totally have a hoppip (now jumpluff) on my team in crystal despite it sucking ass #but this is one of many areas where yo-kai watch is better #i will not take pokemon disrespect on this post still though. they are both great #just because yo-kai watch excels in a lot of pokemon's weak spots doesn't mean pokemon's bad #don't pit two bad bitches against each other

In other, good news (For once for me!) my mom and her boyfriend finally agreed to let me carpool with them when we all leave Pittsburgh on Tuesday morning. The bad news is I have to figure out a way that I'm getting to Pittsburgh now last minute because I'll be there longer then them.

#personal #Like I'm coming in on Saturday and they're only coming in on Monday afternoon for a hockey game and then leaving the next morning.#And if I didn't have a tattoo appointment on Monday AND already paid the hotel in full for all my days?#I would have considered just doing the one day myself.#So now I'm sitting here weighing my options. I can either fly in or take the train in... Both have their positives and negatives.#I fucking LOVE taking the train but I don't like the fact that it only puts me in Pitt at like 8 PM at night.#But if I fly in it puts me in Pitt at like 11 in the morning and I would have to find a way to kill 5-6 hours until my hotel check-in.#<- Not to mention I'm like super scared of flying still and it's supposed to be windy here on Saturday.#Which I'm assuming isn't good for planes.#I was just considering making a driving playlist this morning because I thought I was driving the 8 hours total there and back.#Not ANYMORE! Even though I did agree to get behind the wheel for a little bit on the trek back #<- Doubt I will have to though because my mom's boyfriend is like the 'big man' and will NOT let me drive his car.

nightbringer lesson 14 FUCKED ME UP in several ways but primarily I've spent the last 48 hours making myself sad over the solomon backstory we got. specifically I have, for no reason, latched onto that one chapter in the Kids event where baby solomon cried because he felt so guilty over being responsible for that spell. and that just feels a touch more depressing in context

#nightbringer spoilers #obey me on side #went back and unlocked the event again because i could not get this out of my brain i know it's probably not that deep #but it is that deep TO ME. okay #baby solomon has been on my brain since thirteen told that story so that's probably why it's sticking in my brain so hard but whatever #in case anyone was wondering the other things to make me sad are:#he has such a deeply excessive amount of lights in his room in purgatory hall there are SEVERAL chandeliers and lamps #there's a good handful in his room in cocytus hall too (his horror dg showed it) if a more normal amount #but that with the 'dim and gloomy' detail. ☹️#i've also always thought that solomon's loneliness wasn't all about the immortal angst but like.#having it confirmed that he's had reason to be lonely since he was a child- before he was old enough to know he was using magic-#totally crushed me girl why can't I be wrong #had emotions about lesson 14 in general but solomon backstory steals the show every time for me so i haven't gotten around to the rest #i'm enjoying the nightbringer story so much (not talking about the game design. that's a different thing entirely) but man #the pacing is WILD it feels like every lesson could be a whole lesson block at the least. it's giving me a lot of room to speculate #which I always love! but i do wish they would slow down a little and expand on some of these concepts they're bringing up #because the basic idea of the game alone is REALLY INTRIGUING and it'd be a shame if they raced back to the present imo #what was i even talking about. sorry my brain fast forwards as soon as i get into the tags there is not one sequitur to be seen #so curious about solomon's friend now too. like my guess is it's going to be lilith (and hopefully not in a popular fan theory kind of way)#because it's more than a little suspicious that they expanded on lilith's views on humans the way they did #in a way that SO PERFECTLY lines up with the expansion on solomon's views on humans #WHICH I HAVEN'T TALKED ABOUT YET BY THE WAY BUT LIKE. HE IS SO RIGHT AND REAL FOR THAT #it's beyond stressful to me that I think solomon is completely justified in his views and being completely reasonable about it #but that it would also mean war between the worlds presumably while the brothers are still recovering from THEIRS #you cannot give me that choice man. not even sure that the human world would be ABLE to win that fight if we're being real #solomon's 72 pacts are a lot yes but he's still only one guy who is NOT on good terms with the sorcerer's society #and mc is powerful but so so inexperienced. and that's IF they choose to side with the human world which #really i don't think the canon mc is likely to do. but anyway i guess solomon's friend could also be adam maybe?#that could be wishful thinking because i like adam though. even if his hair SUUUCKS #deeply offended by everyone thinking solomon got the fucked up hair when all signs point to adam be NICE TO HIM he's ugly already

It's been a while since I last thought seriously about Dr*gon A*e (even prior to falling in love with BG3) and I think a big part of that is I'm not as big a fan of the setting and the worldbuilding as I used to be. Like to me it really does feel like BW looked at typical fantasy settings and went "hmm okay but what if there was Catholic-enforced racism and abelism". And like. Cool thought experiment bro. Do we really need three games made by primarily white guys about that.

#dragon age critical #marie speaks #idk if ableism is the best comparison for mage oppression but idk you get my larger point #I've heard that DA was supposedly BW's critical response to settings like Forgotten Realms after making the og BG games #and idk if that's true but I'd be willing to believe that bc that's what a lot of it's world building feels like #“oh u thought the elves where gonna be ethereal and respected? nah they're a haphazard blend of irl oppressed groups”#“oh u thought this fantasy world was gonna have a plethora of interesting and dynamic deities and gods? nah it's just fantasy Catholicism”#“oh u thought people who can use magic would have respected places in society? nah they're locked in jail for being Different”#like I feel like these ideas were kinda cool for one game. An expanded thought experiment #but idk if they were strong enough to sustain an entire franchise #without significantly expanding their pool of writers to get the perspectives of people they're attempting to represent at least #but that's a whole different issue #anyway DA has some legit cool concepts like the Grey Wardens that I will always love #and most of their early character work is still really strong #but for me every time that setting rears it's head problems arise #anyway if you're still a DA fan that's totally fine!
