🔥 anything about sirius because i am being a little hater towards some characterisations too

i've already talked your ears off about this on discord but i'm happy to talk to about it again bc i fucking HATE new sirius black with a burning passion. i hate him as much as i love my sirius black that marauderstok can pry from my cold dead hands bc i'm not letting him go. i don't know when it happened and why but marauders fans are particularly persistent on taking away any interesting traits sirius had and leaving behind a whimpering pathetic twink that cries when someone looks at him the wrong way. sirius has been scrubbed clean of any morally grey traits he might've had (he's not allowed to care for his family (unless it's regulus) or long for them bc they are bad, he's not allowed to have any prejudices even though he was literally raised with pureblood mentality and taught he was superior to everyone else from the day he was born, he's not allowed to be an asshole bc he's not like his family guys!! and when he is an asshole it's always used to victimize the character he's being an asshole to and sirius is painted as the villain with mommy issues that can only be fixed by getting dicked down apparently)

i cannot stress this enough: LET THIS MAN BE A COMPLEX CHARACTER!! and no, giving him mental illnesses that miraculously disappear when he gets together with remus and making him attempt to kill himself post prank because he feels bad is NOT making him complex! you're just weird. you're just romanticizing mental illnesses and i can't believe you don't see anything wrong with it. giving him bipolar to justify his actions is?? not??? representation??? it's offensive to people who actually have to deal with these issues in their day to day lives and yet here you are using something that will impact their life forever as a plot device for your uwu sadboy mlm fanfic.

and that's what new sirius boils down to. he's a plot device, an accessory to everyone else's story that's never given much depth other than "oh his mom used the cruciatus on him and now he's traumatized". no hate to jegulus but hate to specific jegulus fics that turn sirius into an overdramatic caricature of his former self for the sake of drama and angst.

also, some of these wolfstar shippers... wtf are you guys on?? idk when and why (that's a lie i do but i'm not gonna say it) remus became sirius black in a werewolf costume but here we are. oh sirius was cool and effortlessly smart and handsome and girls wanted him? well guess what? snatches all of those character traits and throws them onto remus they're his character traits now. ignore how it doesn't make any sense for the werewolf child who was isolated from the rest of the world to be a smooth talking alpha casanova who plays basketball actually. while we're at it, ignore how unrealistic it is for a boy who was raised in a family that believed they were superior to everyone else based on blood status, who was raised to be the perfect heir and checked off all the traits needed to be one to be insecure?? and unsure of himself?? and stupid??? and a loser??? i don't understand what the point of flipping the wolfstar dynamic was when you're left with a shallow copy of the original but ok. you do you ig.

to summarize, my sirius is cool and effortlessly smart and egotistical and a complete asshole who thinks he's the best thing ever. is it an act to cover up how damaged he thinks he is because of his family? possibly. but i also fully believe sirius thought he was a god amongst men and everyone should be glad to be in his presence. he talked down to other people because he considered himself smarter, he rolled his eyes when students asked stupid questions and made fun of them when they got an answer wrong. he's a teenage boy let him be a dick with no excuses.

(also i find it funny when people write about sirius getting into a fight with james or remus and crying because they said something mean. as if sirius wouldn't throw hands the moment someone started criticizing him. he's toxic and that's what makes him interesting. that's his purpose! characters exist to make stories interesting, to start drama, not to be your moral guide on how to act. stories become so much more fun once you let go of the need to make every character a good person. also liking a character doesn't equal liking them as a person. i love sirius but i would hate his guts irl)

He takes cautious steps, he doesn't want to startle you, but he can't control his curiosity. With a racing heart, every meter he erases between you and him gives him a tingly sensation. His eyes admire the flowers resting around your head, your gracious figure as you touch the water with your fingertips and the sheer dress that leaves little to imagination.

Stepping over a branch that breaks under his weight, your eyes snap up and squint, wondering from where the noise came from. You stand up, taking a few steps back, causing Anakin to sprint forward and approach you. His abrupt movements scare you, and his heart leaps inside his chest when he sees the fear in your eyes.

"Wait!" He exclaims, stepping inside the low stream, standing across you. His deep voice catches your ear, making your hands twitch. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you."

You stop, looking over your shoulder as a flower falls from your hair, landing on the water. Anakin takes cautious steps, picking it up and handing it to you before the water drags it away. He recognizes it as a lotus. A beat goes by, two figures only surrounded by the nature and the crude curiosity flowing between you; two creatures that had never interacted before. You tilt your head, watching his outstretched hand and doubting. How can you know it is safe? The other nymphs had warned you about these creatures... humans, they call them. Men.

"Who are you?" You ask, and Anakin could only compare your voice to the sweet sound of the cascade and wildlife surrounding him. It's pure and it holds a raw, mystic air.

He takes another step closer, smiling softly when you don't run away. "Anakin," He replies, lifting his arm higher, offering you the pink lotus. "Anakin Skywalker."

Hesitant, you approach. At arms length, you reach for the flower and a shiver runs down his spine when your fingertips brush against his palm. Tangling it in your hair once again, you stay still. He is different. He is... unique. His strong, chiseled figures are different from your soft ones. Anakin can tell you are curious. He stays still as you join him in the small river, circling around him and admiring him. You watch his heavy clothing, layer after layer of cotton and leather, and you see the lightsaber hanging from his belt.

"A Jedi?"

"You know who I am?"

You shake your head, brushing a strand of hair away from your forehead. "I don't, but I've heard tales about your... kind. With those bright sticks."

Anakin chuckles, and you wonder if it's a sound of joy or pain. Humans can be so volatile. "It's not a bright stick, it's a lightsaber. It's heat."

"Oh..." You mumble. You have seen humans before, but never one this close. His interactions are weird, or so you think. Face to face, you mimic a gesture you have seen travelers done before. Offering your hand, Anakin smiles. Humans are so strange! Always keeping their distance and talking behind each others' backs. You speak your name, and he nods... Your name sounds straight out from a fairy tale and it's something he'll never forget. "How do you humans say?... Oh! Nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you too," Anakin's eyes narrow as he chuckles, shaking your hand with his flesh one. "You are... beautiful."

You giggle. Humans always think those different than them are worth of a praise. "You are weird," He laughs, and you frown at his laugh again. Letting go of his hand, you touch his face, startling him. "What's this?" Your thumb traces his scar, leaning closer to inspect it further. "Does it hurt?"

"It doesn't," He replies, melting at your touch. "It's a battle scar, you know?" You don't but you nod.

Anakin follows you to the edge of the stream, sitting over a large rock and watching your every move. From all the orders he had disobeyed from Obi-Wan... this one has to be the best. He lets you touch him, he feels the need to satiate your doubts, and there's a comforting feeling under the touch of your hand over his face, his hair and his hands. Leaning closer, you nuzzle against his neck. He even smells different. It is a strong, masculine musk. Like curated leather and sandalwood. He smells like a thousand untold battles and... danger.

The Jegulily Band Au? 👀

hehehe the jegulily band au started on this post made by archie ( @aithusarosekiller ) and it hasn't left my mind since. go look through the reblogs bc it's a wild ride. pretty sure both of us have most of the posts related to it tagged as jegulily band au on our accounts so go look through it to see us losing our minds

it's shared project so nothing is set in stone but here are my current ideas for it :D

lily and regulus are high school sweethearts, they met bc they were both in the school band and hit it off from there. lots of teenage shenanigans ensue and lily and regulus end up forming a band with barty, peter and remus. it's nothing serious they just kinda get together once in a while to have some fun playing random songs. they continue this after high school as they're all going to college and everything is normal UNTIL sirius brings along his friends (james and marlene) to one of their band get togethers.

james (who is an amazing producer btw) immediately falls for regulus and lily despite them being already in a relationship and he's like so smitten it's adorable honestly. he starts talking to them and once he finds out they would love to make an album and try taking this band thing seriously he immediately offers himself up to help them make music. and he brings marlene (who is a social media manager) into it like "yeah she'll help you manage all of it" (she has no idea he's doing any of this)

idk how they would actually get together but it doesn't matter rn what does matter is that their silly little band debuts and they go viral bc their music is amazing ofc. they make more albums, their music videos get millions of views, they sell out stadiums, life is great.

everyone knows that regulily are dating bc they're so public about it, but no one knows that james even exists (apart from him being credited as their producer) let alone that he's dating both of them. james, being the rockstar gf he is, constantly posts pictures from their concerts, always with romantic captions or wtvr bc he's a lover like that. the comments on his posts are always split between "this guy is delusional" and "how tf does he manage to get the tickets for EVERY DAMN CONCERT??"

after lots of back and forth, regulus and lily finally get james to star in one of the music videos for a song that lily wrote specifically about their relationship. they tease the song for months, posting snippets and strange photos with captions that don't make sense unless you're following james and you can see that the captions are all connected. everyone just thinks james is delulu

a week before the music video drops, the band's official account posts like a 10 second teaser and it's of lily and regulus doing couple shit BUT there's another guy there with curly hair and round glasses and everyone is going insane bc WHY DOES THAT GUY LOOK LIKE JAMES POTTER THE CRAZY STALKER. jegulily are having the time of their lives watching the fans go crazy, meanwhile poor marlene has to deal with the aftermath

this au is just a bunch of crazy stuff honestly i had so many ideas for it but i didn't write any of them down so i'm stuck with what i can remember off the top of my head </3

oh and also peter/remus/sirius are all dating and sirius is a famous model and he just randomly appears in the band's music videos and all the comments scream "WHAT IS SIRIUS BLACK DOING HERE" like sirius doesn't regularly post selfies with both of his boyfriends 🙄

BUT when the Sword of Truth was first introduced as gold and gleaming and PIB said that it was used to cut wood, there was a moment after that where it cut to Brennan's face and you know what kind of face he fucking has when the PCs say something off the cuff that has relevance later on or something he never thought of but might work later on. you know the look

And it reminded me of the folk tale/fable of "The Honest Woodcutter" and I fucking know it's an Aesop's fable and the sword is called the Sword of Truth and I feel like I'm grasping at strings here (ha) but in the promo for ep 8 the sword is potentionally a person? So MAYBE just maybe hear me out, the sword is Aesop

Hello, just dropping by to send you some art I made from your fanfiction, The Nymph. It’s definitely not perfect but I tried my best, and I hope you find it to be good. I am not an experienced artist at all, and I simply wanted to combine two things I enjoyed. Your fanfiction and drawing.

I inspired myself from a statue of Ganymede (on the left) as you mentioned that he was a cupbearer to Poseidon. In the middle, it’s more inspired from a famous statue of Dionysos, and I added his sword, Anaklusmos. On the right is a bust of him that I found idea from in a statue of Hermès. I payed close attention to the descriptions you gave in chapter 8. I also wrote down (thanks to the help of my best friend) an epithet you gave him “Of the People”. And on top, “Perseus, God of Gentle Waves”

thank you!! it started as a completely random idea last night but i've actually grown attached to it in this short amount of time hahaha it's so fun to play around with!

not sure if it will be written but @aithusarosekiller has a google doc ready so we'll see! maybe i'll write some snippets for the au too, but that's only if i have enough time. i'll probably post them here on tumblr.
