okay but what if Joyce goes to get something out of her wallet and Karen sees that she has pictures of Will, Jonathan, and El in it. and she can’t help but coo at the photos and lament over Mike’s aversion to pictures. of course Karen has to unearth some old photos to embarrass Mike. she even goes as far as sharing them with the rest of the party. and everyone is poking fun at Mike’s baby pictures (cue classic bathtub pictures) while he pouts and Karen pats his head sarcastically sympathetic.

it’s Lucas who notices first, that Mike is frowning in most of them. most of them being the operative word. because Mike is positively beaming in every photo that Will is in. he’s looking through photos so fast to compare them that he captures Dustin’s attention, who in turn gets the attention of everyone else when he loudly asks what Lucas’ deal is. Lucas can hardly keep the laughter out of his voice as he slams the evidence down, photos of Mike frowning in solo pictures with every party member. aside from Will. “this asshole- (“Language-“ “-Sorry-“) is frowning in every photo with us! except for Will, of course.” and Mike goes completely red, sputtering out some kind of flimsy defense, but no one can hear him over the indignant squawking of the entire party. and-

Okay but when Alex was giving his speech and they played montage scenes of him and Henry I was weak.

Henry when he found out about the emails. We saw Alex reaction in the book but seeing Henry’s in the movie?

Him wanting to call Alex and get a message to him. The look on his face when Bea told him? Nick you’re so breaking my heart here.

Their reactions were literally to see how the other was doing. I’m really happy that this part of the movie we got to see Henry’s POV.

During 4 Sided Dive, Taliesin talked about how protective Ashton is over Bell’s Hells, because of that punk ride or die attitude that once you care, once you find your family, you’d take a bullet for them with no hesitation. Ashton’s choice to take the shard makes complete sense for the character, and even if it turned out badly (which was very likely to happen), it would still have been epic storytelling. The fact that Ashton Greymoore of the Hishari SURVIVED THAT SHIT is even better.

Don’t get me wrong I actually love mermaid dresses and I think it actually looks good on this rendition of Sally…but I’m bored. I think this is the fifth or sixth mermaid dress we have from monster high skullector dolls now and while I do still think it looks good on Sally, I feel like it’s not her.

Now let me start by saying I’m a huge Nightmare Before Christmas fan so I was not happy when these dolls were teased because I had minimal faith (sorry mattel!) but I’m actually very very happy about these designs. Do I think they could be better? Yes and that’s what I’m going to talk about in this post.

First thing first. Mermaid dress. Nope. I actually wholeheartedly believe that the dress in the first image below is what inspired her Skullector dress (I also think that the figurine pulled it off better but I believe it’s because of the long skirt, I would personally not be a big fan if a collector doll had a long skirt that covered the shoes, especially for a brand like monster high who makes some of the most incredible shoes!)

(I believe all of these figures are official Disney figures, somebody please correct me if I’m wrong)

These bottom looks (specifically the last one) is what I really leaned into and would have preferred, I drew up a little sketch of a dress I think would have fit her better.

I think her gown should have had a larger skirt, the whole reason that her original dress looks scrappy is because it’s literally made from scraps that she finds I think that they could have kept the scrap patter but given her more volume, the sleekness of her actual skullector dress seems like they’re trying to use minimal fabric which isn’t super fun for a collector doll. On the sides of her skirt I have her little fabric pieces that match Jack’s iconic pinstripe pattern and the tendril (?) bits he has on his skullector outfit, I think it’s a nice way to make them look cohesive instead of the orange and black striped thing they have going on.

I LOVE the mesh on the bottom of Sally’s skullector dress and in my reimagining of her that is still absolutely there but perhaps underneath the main skirt or even overtop where the spider web bit is at the waist.

The first thing I did when I saw this doll was zoom in and check for raw edges and I actually laughed when I didn’t see any. Mattel you have given us several skullector dolls with raw edges and the time that you actually make a rag doll character who has ripped and sewn fabrics YOU DONT GIVE HER RAW HEMS?? Don’t get me wrong I’m not complaining but it’s just hilarious to me because this is the one time they could really get away with it and I would just shrug and not be able to complain.

Last things I would change about these dolls are; give Jack a little top hat or something, I think it would add a dramatic flare which is what we should expect, it might not stay on his very round head and I would not want them to use a peg of any sort though (seriously doll companies, think about utilizing magnets.) The red on their shirt and hair seems so loud it’s almost glowing, it’s a bit weird to me but it could just be pictures and contrast. And lastly …WE SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN ZERO 🥲 imagine how cute a little see through Zero (think like Rhuen) would be!!!!

On the double standards of Taylor’s love life and Swifties’ role in Taylor’s reputation

{Fair warning: this is kind of long and I actually originally wrote it during the Ratty stuff but it’s relevant now and this post from @9w1ft (specifically the tweet) made me think that maybe this needed to be really laid out there. }

Disclaimer: I am in no way claiming to know what Taylor’s sexuality is definitively, nor am I suggesting that every relationship she’s had with a man was fake, or that she is a lesbian. I myself have experienced enough bi erasure and biphobia to know better, but I had to put this out there explicitly so hetlors don’t have that as a “gotcha”.

Swifties have the lowest possible standards for whom they consider to be a boyfriend of Taylor’s.

Their standards are a) the media has to stir something up b) they have to interact distantly in some public capacity before they c) walk around together (holding hands or not).

I can give you the names so many women with whom Taylor acted like that, often for longer periods of time and with more interaction than a couple dinners and pap walks or whatever she’s done with those men. And that’s without time to go do research which would doubtlessly turn up more names.

To name some examples:

Karlie Kloss, Diana Agron, Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, Blake Lively, Cara Delevingne, Martha Hunt, Sophie Turner, Lorde, all three Haim sisters, Zoe Kravitz, Emma Stone, Camila Cabello, Lily Aldridge, Lily Donaldson.

(To be clear, I’m not suggesting that Taylor dated all or most of those women.)

Now, I have no doubt that if most swifties looked up photos of Taylor with a lot of those women they’d go “they aren’t even doing anything in that picture” or “they’re just walking side by side” or whatever else.

THAT’S THE POINT

I’m 1000% sure that if you photoshopped a man into basically any of those pics people would assume they’re dating because they’re walking together.

Almost all of Taylor’s supposed boyfriends have had significantly less interaction with her than those women, but people don’t hesitate to say she’s dating the men. Her team can and will deny it, but swifties will add a name to their list anyway, and that creates a whole other problem.

The sl*t shaming:

In my opinion, the sl*t shaming that Taylor has experienced for about the last 15 years has been, at least in part, because of swifties who jump to conclusions about men she’s seen with. When her own fans believe she’s dated however many guys, it’s that much easier for the media to repeat that and twist it to be negative.

If you wouldn’t look at a random guy and girl standing within a few feet of each other or walking together and come to the conclusion that they must be dating, why do you assume that about Taylor? Or, for that matter, does every person of the opposite gender that you associate with have to be your SO?

[And yes that can easily be turned around on Gaylors, but the whole point is that we aren’t solely using proximity to link potential exes or lovers to Taylor. We actually do the analysis of the lyrics, we break down the connections, we do the research.]

My point is that swifties have contributed on a large scale to Taylor’s sl*t shaming in a way that should make them think twice about who they claim she’s dating. Unfortunately as we’ve seen with this M*tty situation {and now the football guy}, they don’t seem to have the self awareness to realize how they’ve aided such a disgusting campaign of hate.

One more thing: you can say that no one will say those things now anyway because Taylor is on top of the world and they wouldn’t dare sl*t shame the Queen of Pop or “The Music Industry”. You might even be right. But if you do this and feel no guilt or shame over how your actions may have played a part in the several intense periods of sl*t shaming that Taylor has gone through previously, you need to think about why that is.

Taylor said it best in her speech at the Grammy museum in September 2015. She was introducing Blank Space and talking about the situation that made her write the song.

“In the last couple of years the media have had a really wonderful fixation on kind of painting me as like the psycho serial dater girl… It got pretty out of control there for a couple of years because… every article would be like, Taylor Swift Standing Near Some Guy. Watch Out Guy!”

That sounds insane, and it was definitely worse then than it is now, but the fact that it’s happening right now at all is ridiculous. Swifties need to stop helping the media tie Taylor’s name to men as if that makes her relevant. She’s a highly awarded singer, songwriter, and performer who has set and broken records (and then broken the ones she’s set) countless times. Swifties need to stop pretending that dating someone is what makes her interesting or we’re no better than the people who think she only writes breakup songs.

As a faithful Palletshipper who regularly uses AO3, I am so unbelievably heartbroken and disappointed that there are twice as less fanfictions of Ash x Gary than there are of Journeyshipping. Idk why, maybe because Journeyshipping was new and so interesting at the time that there was probably a boom of Ash x Goh fanfics. It also makes me kinda sad knowing that some former Palletshippers no doubt fell out of it in favor of Journeyshipping (I say this cuz I've encountered one), but I guess it's just me being petty. Idk, I guess it really bummed me out considering Gary was Ash's very first best friend (before Pikachu) and rival, therefore I thought there'd at least be more fanfics of them on AO3. No hate or disrespect against Journeyshipping or any other relationships Ash gets paired up with, but when I read a recent Palletshipping fanfic and checked the tag, it shocked me wayyy more than it should have.

Anyway, thanks for hearing me vent like a pathetic little brat who didn't get their way. I just wanted to let it out before I combusted.
