Ok so do you think longer hair would pick up and end up wafting the scents from the neck scent glands?
And what sort of effects would this have on hairstyles and what's associated with each.
I'm gonna ramble a bit here, just thinking out loud about the potential roads this could take.
Would modern society have it be more professional to have all hair be either very short or always pinned back? So it won't distract customers or coworkers. This could be especially enforced in larger cities where the smells could be overwhelming
Would it be rebellious to grow out your hair? Reject modern culture and embrace the tradition of older times.
Or would longer (and looser) hair be reserved for mothers? Because the excess scent would help the pups recognize their mom. Especially when breastfeeding, like it could waft the scent downwards towards the pups. Leaning over with loose hair when taking care the pup, allowing the soothing scent to put them at ease since they can't reach the glands directly.
Once they find out they are pregnant, they begin growing out their hair. There could even be special styles for each trimester to celebrate.
The fathers fighting for the right to have long hair (tied back at work) so the pups can scent them as well. It being a very big win when they are granted that right, so they can have stronger pack bonds.
Another option is having longer hair be associated with sex workers. They allow their scents to flow freely as much as possible to attract potential customers. (Similarly to how the skimpy outfits work.) There's could be the very real issue of parents telling their adolescent pups to "cut their hair they look like a prostitute" (No hate towards sex workers here. But it could be a thing in different omegaverses, depending on the story).
When betas go hunting or visiting other packs do they keep their hair trimmed? To reduce the chance of their scent interfering with their mission
Alphas having long hair tied up in buns to hold more scent . (There's a joke somewhere about knots and hair buns).
At what age do pups begin to cut their hair? Or are they expected to keep it until they hit puberty?
Would there be hair cutting parties? For pups when they come of age, for mothers once the pups are grown?

Dynamic Genetics
You guys!
After literally thinking about this for so long I finally figured out how dynamic genetics work in my AU.
Alpha Genotypes: AA, AB
Beta Genotypes: BB, AO
Omega Genotypes: OO, OB
-------------
lol you guys I made this in the middle in the night like six months ago and totally forgot about it. This is really good! Lol I was really onto something here.

Presentation, Physical Characteristics, and Socialization
This post is going to be written assuming an in-universe social view of biological sex its characteristics. It’s not sexual dimorphism exactly because there are more than two widely accepted cis genders but its the same general mindset.
The way I usually write omegaverse has intersex alpha females and omega males. Not all of them have the same manifestation of intersex-ness, there is a spectrum there, but it is a characteristic.
This does mean that there is a level of “assigned gender at birth”. you can tell at a glimpse if a an infant “is” alpha/beta male for instance. Or beta/omega female. Because the external genitals of these specific options are the same. this also means that alpha females and omega males look identical at birth.
I think there would be a way to determine between beta and alpha males, and alpha females and omega males, etc... but that would be hormonal testing that would be a bit more advanced and I think would have a more widely accepted margin of error.
Presentation does happen, its literally just part of puberty, as the individual child’s levels of the specific alpha/beta/omega hormones develop to the point they have a noticeable impact on the child and their scent/physique/behavior/etc... For some kids this is a more gradual and subtle process and for some it is more sudden and immediately obvious.
Its the point when omega males and alpha females begin diverging in their sexual characteristics and becoming (as a generalization) visually distinct from each other.
And I just think, overall, this has some very interesting implications for how children are socialized.

What I find odd is that people be like "beta females have periods/beta males don't have rut". It doesn't make sense - if betas are same species as alphas and omegas then betas also supposed to be in heat/rut. Only most likely it's nowhere as bad as in alphas/omegas, thus stereotype that betas do not lose their heads. Any thoughts on that?
Just cause they're the same species it doesn't mean they have the same reproductive systems/patterns. I'm the same species as any other human male, I however and sadly cannot impregnate anyone like a male theoretically can. Doesn't make us a different species from one another. Specially cause google says that the same species is composed of beings that can interbreed. Betas can breed with each other AND omegas and Alphas of their opposite sex, so they're the same species as both.
Even when they can't in some instances it doesn't make them different species. If a Beta male and an Alpha male cannot interbreed it doesn't mean they're different species, it just means they're the equivalent of a same sex relationship in the animal kingdom. But one has a rut and the other doesn't.
And even if you're not convinced by what I said, I then ask you: Why does it have to make sense? It's all make-believe anyway. All we gotta do is say: Biology works differently for humans in these universes and thus the definition of species is different.
That solves the problem and it makes complete sense, because it's not reality anyway so why couldn't it be this way?
Obviously that if anyone wants and needs their Betas to have heats and ruts "to make sense" in their own heads, go right ahead. I'm not the A/B/O police. To each their own verse.
And in those cases, yeah I think it's fine to hdcn they have less sever versions of heats and ruts.
At the end of the say all I have to say is: You do you, bruv.

Met a kid (16) online that deadass thought the omegaverse was real but we weren't taught about it in America cause we're such a conservative country.
Like it was commonplace, and gender theory was all around it and stuff in other countries-
Things like people calling others Sigma, Beta, Alpha whatever was just layover stereotypes from what was leaked in through the Internet or travels-
Trans guys that were preggo were just omega dudes-
And they were going all over conspiracy theories about how America must be spending so much tax money on scent scrubbers to hide this charade-
Like-
No honey-
This is a fanfiction genre-
Baby go outside-
I love this genre too, but that doesn't make it real life-
I hope they're doing ok now that their worldview has... changed. The Internet was a mistake, but a mistake we all love... oh gee... hhhhhhhhh

going feral
i’ve mentioned feral alphas and omegas in a few posts before, but what does that mean? this post will discuss ferality,* its causes, common feral behaviors, and treatment.
*note: i will be using ‘ferality’ as opposed to the technically proper ‘ferity’ because the latter is based on the latin root and sounds pretentious, and the former is based on the english word and is more accessible
what is ferality?
ferality is a medical emergency caused most commonly by social isolation. it causes those afflicted to behave erratically, and is the most common cause of forced bites. it is one of the top ten causes of death for those over 80 years old. it is also called ‘loneliness disease’ or ‘bite fever,’ and is often euphemistically described as ‘losing oneself.’ in the past, more than a week of ferality was incurable. today, synthetic hormones and careful medically supervised management leads to over 90% of those afflicted to make a full recovery if treated before one week, and over 80% to regain most normal function if treated before two weeks. outcomes become less positive the longer someone experiences ferality, but there have only been 1,762 documented deaths directly from ferality in the US since 1980.
why does it happen?
humans in the omegaverse are pack animals not only because their ancestors saw practical advantages to living, hunting, and raising pups in groups, but because they were biologically dependent on one another. in simplest terms, interacting with pack aids the body in maintaining its optimal balance between the twelve dynamic (i.e., alpha, beta, and omega) hormones. prolonged lack of social support means that these hormones become unbalanced, leading the body to a state of multi-system disregulation.
ferality greatly reduces people’s access to the areas of the brain responsible for decision making, planning, empathy, and abstraction. it is the body’s desperate bid to regulate itself by any means necessary. those afflicted become impulsive, aggressive, and violent in some cases, so it is essential both for the afflicted person and those nearby that if you spot a feral person, you call emergency services immediately.
how do you spot it?
feral humans are fairly easy to spot based on their unusual, erratic, impulsive behavior. they may sniff the air (or other people) unsubtly, grab or touch things (or people) and fail to respond to spoken language. ferality is most commonly associated with inappropriate scent marking and biting for good reason: a feral person’s primary drive is to share scent with someone to help bring themselves back into balance. there are also some behaviors that can generally be attributed to the different dynamic sexes:
alphas
feral alphas tend to make aggressive eye contact as a posturing behavior
growling, snarling, and clicking at no one in particular
clenching and unclenching the fists and shifting from foot to foot
violence, especially toward other alphas
an acrid scent, like burning rubber or sulfur
betas
feral betas’ eyes tend to shift rapidly, settling on nothing for very long
humming, clicking, huffing at no one in particular
similar to alphas, they clench and unclench the fists and shift from foot to foot
general restlessness, moving quickly
climbing and perching inappropriately (e.g. on tables, vehicles, or buildings)
a rotting scent, like old meat or milk
omegas
feral omegas tend to make glancing eye contact—they meet someone’s eyes, hold, and look away several times
whining, purring, and clicking at no one in particular
baring the neck indiscriminately in a bid to entice a bite
hiding/burrowing (e.g. under tables or in closets. there have been several cases of feral omegas in clothing stores nesting in the clothing racks)
a chemical scent, like bleach or ammonia
how is it treated?
if you spot someone afflicted by ferality, it is essential to call for an ambulance immediately.
treatment begins in the ambulance. typically, EMS technicians anesthetize the individual for everyone’s safety. once it is safe to do so, the technicians draw blood and begin measuring vital signs and hormone levels to ensure that the individual truly is feral. in the past 30 years, rapid tests have made measuring hormone levels faster than ever. these levels are recorded and passed off to hospital triage, along with a record of any emergency hormones administered.
the hospital then brings the individual to the feral ward, where they have an individual room and nesting material marked with synthetic pheromones of all three dynamics. if the individual has been feral for less than ~three days, typically this is enough to trigger their body to begin regulating itself. in some cases, the individual may need direct scent marking in order to jumpstart regulation. if it’s necessary, a nurse or technician will swab the individual’s face and neck with a cotton swab soaked in a synthetic pheromone solution.
in more moderate to severe cases, the individual may need further assistance regulating themselves. in these cases, the individual will receive intravenous hormones and extremely frequent monitoring.
typically, after a few days of hormone therapy, the individual’s body will have reached a state of equilibrium and will be able to maintain the balance itself again. however, in some severe cases, the individual’s body may be unable to maintain the balance. these people will need hormone therapy every other week indefinitely. in some cases (especially those where there is also malnutrition or other severe condition), the issue will resolve itself with time. in others, the hormone treatment is for life.
how is it prevented?
the best prevention is maintaining healthy pack bonds. if, for some reason, this is inaccessible, clinics, health departments, and hospitals typically have nesting materials marked with synthetic pheromones. in the past five years, some nesting material companies have begun offering materials marked with synthetic pheromones. in addition, matching agencies sometimes offer scent-marked clothing or nesting materials for sale, though this practice is judged fairly harshly.

how do i explain to people that my first approach to omegaverse was in 2016 through a voltron fanfiction, but back then i had no idea what volton was. reading the fic it seemed to be about aliens and sci fi stuff i just assumed the omegaverse part was canonical. like a real piece of lore from the serie. so i went and streamed voltron and you can imagine my confusion.

I read a fic recently that mentioned how knotting outside of an omega can be painful for the Alphas because the knot will just keep swelling until it hurts.
I found this interesting because I never thought about it from the Alphas POV. It doesn't just make the orgasm better to use your hands on the knot, it potentially reduces the risk of damage.

I need different people takes on this:
Omegaverse illnesses.
I already saw some, like the greyrocking by pack-the-pack and the allolfactory syndrome (I don't remember the blog name) but I need more.
I want see more of this. What causes disease X? Does it affects any dynamic or just one in specific? Does it just affects pups or grown-ups too? Does it have a cure? What are the symptoms? What are the treatments?
In short: I want to see more omegaverse illnesses/medical takes.
To the person who sent this ask first, I'mma do a big post to talk about diseases and disorders.
I probably won't answer every question you are asking in your ask, but there will be a general idea of what each ailment entails.
Keep an eye out, I'll post it eventually.

Do you have the original explanation link as seen in this?
https://www.wattpad.com/571581476?utm_source=ios&utm_medium=link&utm_content=share_inline_media&wp_page=reading_inline&wp_uname=wholslisa&wp_originator=TTcNoMdo7cAswdDKUJ4fA%2BErtmvGdTklU69eB74u7LdpAO63c3bkCmSU41RZwaX3ZQqkJBnfz4N1nmJPCzRO%2BX6J8K8vslF8AidnNUkHcP7IaXblenMNBNihSgPW1PG%2F they say it’s yours
So I don't have the original one, because tumblr flagged it and removed it like the cunts they are, even tho it didn't really have anything much in it.
But I have the revised version right here. This one is not flagged or removed and it actually has revisions and fixed typos.
As for the last image, the one for contraceptives, yes I still have it. It's right here.
Any other questions please don't hesitate to ask.

Omegaverse
I understand why some gay people like it, its is way for them experience having biological kids. That is not possible in reality.
But I find it so damn weird that the alpha females essential grow a penis from their clit, while still having a vagina which they do not use.
A penis is not lesbian. Its like they have and obsession with making lesbian sex straight. Its so weird that the in the mlm omega verse, the omega still keeps their autonomy except the womb. But the female grows a dick. I have yet to see and that makes wlw omega verse have normal autonomy.
I personal dont get the obsession why having kinds in these books it as if they want us to conform to the heterosexuals reality. Kids are not and cant be a product of homosexuality. Stop giving women dicks, please having a penis in a lesbian relationship is not gay it is straight.
Overall the omega verse is very weird
