Ah yet again.

A different take which you don't agree with about a piece of media does not mean it's a 'bad take'.

It means that other person experienced it differently than you.

How we interpret what we digest is influenced by many things. Personal experience, how much we know of the lore, what our own views of the fictional world are. And what we like and don't like. IT'S ART. A different take is a different opinion. Not a bad one. Saying it's 'bad' can imply 'wrong'.

Now here is why this is upsetting. Because when you point at someone and say "you have a bad take about the media we both watched", you're doing nothing else than pretending to be 'above' and without proof of "bad" (which cannot be produced because this is all opinion anyway, ART), you're just insulting them. I don't care who was involved. I probably don't agree with either of them. But I will always stand up for someone to speak and not be belittled as a 'bad take' when it's simply one that 'doesn't comply with the majority'.

POINT IS: Phrases like this, done without thinking, are what make fandom spaces hollow and unwelcoming and dark.

Think before you even criticize. Instead of doing that, how about ignoring what you don't like, OR finding something you do.

My kiddo was part of the 4th grade awards ceremony his school had this year.

He got 3 awards, one in math, one in reading and one in art.

When he got his art and reading awards, his teacher made sure to tell everyone how he wrote and illustrated his own book this year.

It's a horror story about a clock. He drew pictures in pencil, then went in with a UV reactive ink marker and made clues, notes, and cryptic and scary art with the marker that only shows up if you put it under blacklight/a uv flashlight.

As a goth mom, I am so proud.

in basically most, if not all, forms of art, theres technically very little things that are objectively flaws in terms of quality (excluding shit like the author being a huge racist who writes abt why racism is good). like one could say that an obvious objective flaw in writing is incorrect grammar and syntax, but theres writers like e.e cummings who used those things in their work on purpose:

now how does this relate to warrior cats? i dont know. something abt how u need to be able to bitch abt art n other media confidently despite ur love for them in order to not only improve at your craft, but also be able to analyze and understand the art of others. being able to give an elaborate explanation on why something in a piece of media makes you feel the way it does n why u think its bad or good will help you look at art that breaks rules and either appreciate it more, or explain how it exactly fails at what its attempting. it will help you create exciting, out there art that will singlehandedly make some freak have an epiphany that’ll have em create some more exciting out there art. and so that hamster wheel keeps running. i have not slept.

i love my maths teacher shes so funny

she's that one teacher than will pause the entire lesson just to hear my classmates gossiping to her about whatever, and then gets so hooked that we have to remind her to teach us 😭

and she's so unserious and chill honestly it feels like a teenager is teaching us 😭 not to mention that despite being all of the above, she's really good at her job and literally all of us understand maths cos of her

and every 8th lesson(last lesson) on wednesdays when i have p.e, i head to the class she's teaching, literaly walk in and take a seat, and she says NOTHING

last week wednesday i told her earlier in the day 'i'll be visiting you'(no one can stop me from seeing my favourite teacher haha) and she said "Come over, we'll solve problems together." LMAOOO 😭 that class is now my 3rd class like everyone there knows me 😭😭

and yesterday she sent some problems for us to write down and solve

we reacted with angry/sad emojis, and she responded with 😂. *😂*

i swear the world needs more teachers like that bc honestly they make learning so easier and suddenly you actually want to go to school and get up early in the morning 😭😭 i've had both good teachers like your math teacher (sounds like a gem) and i can confirm that you will always remember them and they will always remember students like you too!

i had a computer teacher just like that one and i would literally go to the lab and take a free seat, no questions asked. she used to take our photos whenever we had an event and she would get them developed and have me choose whichever ones i wanted and not let me pay hehe! it's been almost 14 years that i last saw her but whenever she goes to my dad's clinic to get checked (she's his patient) she always asks about me and tells him some funny story of mine that she remembers. it's so :'))

i had a few other teachers like that too and yeah they just make school so much better. be good to them, i cannot stress this enough!! i hope you continue to have fun and good times with your math teacher she sounds so fun!
