We went to one of my favorite places in town. It always has such a comforting vibe🥰

Artists who admit to not knowing small details about their characters and worldbuilding have inadvertently given better advice than any character design post on social media tbh. as fun as it is to come up with what your guys would order from a restaurant or the contents of their backpack or their favorite color I've run into very few people who can leave that stuff in a story (or even leave it offscreen as paratext) without it being distracting and poorly written because it's rarely in service of the narrative. a lot of that is def just down to personal taste, but it feels more like designing characters for a TTRPG

#this goes for books comics screenplays whatever #basically anything except roleplay which demands that kind of fine detail bc maybe you ARE ordering from restaurants #as always you can run into the opposite problem too where your characters are empty vessels #but being online and having tried my own hand at a story as a teenager this feels like the more common roadblock #lighthouse is actually a great example of my ideal balance- the characters are deeply human; it feels like the finer details exist somewher #but they're not text- it's clear no one was thinking about their first memory or favorite dog breed #the focus is on structure and image #you can have it all!#books #films

Gentlemen thieves/ top hat classy thieves are characters that I love really much so of course I created one myself !

I don't have a precise background for him yet, something along the lines of "retrieving lost family heirlooms and seeking revenge"

His family mysteriously disappeared in a fire when he was a child, and he got adopted by an older noblewoman under a new identity. Now working as a police officer alongside his shenanigans, he tries to find by who and why did his family perish in that fire at their home many years ago. He commits heists under the name of "Le Lièvre" (The Hare) Has a pet bunny he calls his little "Arsène Lapin"

#there was a bus strike today so i had to walk home from the physics department #except it started storming halfway and i just managed to duck into my favorite little chinese restaurant #and i ordered my favorite soup except maybe i said the wrong one or maybe the recipe changed #which would be really annoying but it was porkier and fatter than before and it was sooo warm and filling after getting caught in the rain #life is good. life is GOOOOD

don’t get me wrong I absolutely adored all the romantic moments we got between Ed and Stede in s2 but I really hope that in s3 we get to see more of them also being best friends

i Do think that if you tried to go into space from like the first for example you would seemingly just keep going forever and the stars would never seem to get any closer no matter how far you traveled. so even if you managed to travel out to ultima thule distance/direction-wise it would still just seem to be empty space ALTHOUGH that begs the question of wtf is up with the stars on the reflections anyway
