I decided... why not both?

Cross knew that his datemate had a crush on someone else.

At least, it was someone that he... sort of trusted? It was on Onyx, another one of the members of the Bad Sanses group, and he was pretty unsure how to really feel about it?

Yes, he didn't hate Onyx or anything but the idea of his datemate wanting to be with someone else, always made him sad. He knew that they wanted to still be with him too! They looked at him the same way they normally did but he also saw the way that they looked at him.

A sort of... longing.

It happened rarely but he also saw how they would get flustered by him sometimes. Honestly? He didn't blame them!

Onyx was attractive! Pretty damn hot. He had a few cracks and a pretty nasty crack in his skull which ran down, over one of his sockets. His eyeshine always seemed to be there but he could only summon one.

At first, Cross hated it and would often glare at Onyx and try to get him to either leave the room or he would grab his datemate and leave with them so they wouldn't have to be around him but lately, he realized that hey, if they wanted to do that then... he's fine with that.

He knew that Y/n loved him. but they just also liked Onyx!

His mind rushed with different thoughts, trying to think of what they should do before realizing... he liked Onyx too. They were pretty close and often worked together. Something that Cross quite enjoyed so he decided to go for something... that he might regret.

He was sitting in his bedroom in Nightmare's castle, playing with Y/n's hair when finally, he heard a familiar knock on his door, then Onyx opens it, poking his head in "What did you want, Cross?"

"Onyx, I have a question. Come in" when Onyx came in, shutting the door behind him, he continues to talk "Do you like Y/n?"

Y/n's eyes widened at the question, looking at Cross with big eyes and they ask, "Have you lost your mind?" They start, "Where are you coming from with that question?"

Onyx's cheeks flush a little and he narrows his eye sockets, squinting with a soft growl "Yeah, why are you asking me that?"

"well... a while ago, Y/n and I were talking about adding a third and I figured why not ask you? Since I have seen the way that you look at Y/n sometimes."

"Are you trying to fuck with me right now? I don't care if you're a friend I'll still kill you" Onyx snaps, most likely he was just embarrassed and nervous. He always reacted to stuff like that in violence rather than really... anything.

Y/n looks between the two of them quickly, their cheeks quickly going warm "Wait, Onyx you like me? Cross, you knew? Why didn't you say anything?"

Cross moves his hands in a silent way of saying "Well I am now, aren't I?" then he says, "I wanted to be sure. So, what do you two think?"

Y/n looks over at Onyx, then back at Cross smiling a little, "I wouldn't mind if he wanted to" Onyx opens his mouth, then shuts it again, seeming to be thinking. He slowly walks over, sitting down on the bed reaching over to ruffle them both on their heads muttering "You two are weirdos" That wasn't really an answer, but the other two were going to take that as approval! Hell yeah, poly.

I wanted to try something new. I found a 320 palette challenge and I like the idea of making art based on a specific palette. I don't think I will do them all, but I will do as much as possible. This will mostly be Slash/Ash & Onyx. But it's possible I'll do other characters if I think it fits better. This is my first attempt but I may redo the first palette another time. I was thinking it would be nice with the two of them looking at a city…

Ok, Onyx needs more popularity. Their concept is a FUCKING MASTERPIECE!!!! Former broomie turned member of the bad sanses? That’s literally awesome! I would love to see them interact with the rest of the bad sanses more. In fact, make them a generalized member across the fandom! Just like Killer, Horror, Dust, and even Cross! Onyx has a lot of potential, and if I have to make a bunch animated shorts or even a whole series like underverse with them in it to get them well known… I will do it!
