As a gift today i have nightly thought of Legacy and christmas tree, him not understanding why you're bringing a whole tree inside at first only to then get hype when you bring the decorations, its all so shiny!!

I can see him having a blast seeing the tree light up at night, or helping you to put the star on top by holding you! You could also let him do it, and he would be soso careful to not break anything 🥹 you would both enjoy admiring the shiny, tall christmas tree cuddling(and of course Mothman would purr)

it's not Christmas anymore, but i'm still in the festive moth mood!!!

ohh the way his wings begin fluttering when you bring out all the sparkly ornaments- he's basically in heaven, with both the shiny lights and the glittery baubles. Legacy helps you pick which ornaments to put where- his favorites are the ones with crystal details or swirling metallic patterns, and he has a keen sense for where each one will refract light the best. if you have to string the tree with lights yourself, he helps by untangling any knots in the long cord... and then promptly gets himself tangled in it, the twinkling lights all laced around his horns and in his fluff. it creates a little more work for you, but it's definitely worth it to see how mesmerized he looks at the sight of all the glowing dots speckled around his hair and fur- you HAVE to tie a ribbon around one of his horns at some point, it's just a requirement

and the STAR, oh my goodness the star- he adores that thing to pieces. his crystalline eye widens when he first sees it, crouching down and trilling to examine it at all angles. but Legacy absolutely insists that you put it on the top of the tree and will pick you up so you can do just that, his claws wrapping around your waist as he carefully lifts you closer. once the star is positioned and glittering from high above, you shift in Legacy's arms and ask him why he always wants you to put the star up, despite him being the right height for it

Legacy just tilts his head- isn't it obvious? he points a sharp talon at you, then himself, then finally at the star, letting out a happy purr

Lone Star Ornaments (Non-cross stitch edition)

In addition to my cross stitch ornaments, I made 8 other ornaments for my Lone Star Christmas tree.

First, I had to be sure to get the logo in there somewhere.

These two were made with this process, and I really love how they turned out. In fact, I loved it so much that I think I might make a couple more in different colors as gifts. The only thing the instructions didn't mention was the fact that the inside of the ornaments took about 3-4 days to completely dry.

Here's front and back of my fairly simple 126 ornament.

For this one, I took a blank ceramic ornament, painted each side a different color, stuck on a sticker from @reyeslonestar (can be purchased here) on either side and then added some glitter paint over top.

For these two, I got some plywood rectangles, used a hammer and nail to punch holes for the hanger, painted the rectangles, stuck on stickers from @thebumblecee (can be purchased here), and applied a good amount of glitter paint to the backs and a little to the fronts.

Finally, I had to find a way to include this Marjan quote—I really want to get it into a cross stitch project at some point too—and it felt right to pair it with paint, glitter and sequins.

Empress Josephine’s (supposed) gold, pearl and malachite cameo parure attributed to Nitot & Fils, now Chaumet, and made around 1810.

"This ensemble of two necklaces, a pair of bracelets, a diadem, a brooch, a pendant and six pins, attributed to jewellers Marie-Étienne Nitot and François-Régnault Nitot (father and son), is decorated with cameos in malachite, natural pearls, yellow gold and tortoiseshell. All except three of the cameos have antique-style figures on them, female or male profiles. The two necklaces and the brooch, on the other hand, bear heads shown face forwards, that on the brooch being possibly a portrait of Josephine." - Napoleon.org
