I’ve been waitlisted at two medical schools this year. I’m anxiously waiting to hear back from either of them.

I applied to a Caribbean Medical School (St. George’s) and got in about two weeks after my interview. I also applied to Temple School of Podiatric Medicine and got in five days after my interview.

It’s about two months before medical school begins for the year, and I’m so nervous I won’t get into either school. I’m glad I have back up options. I know that being waitlisted is by no means a failure, and I should be proud that I’ve accomplished this much. However, the uncertainty not just about school, but about COVID, Justice in this country, and many other factors have increased my anxiety.

If anyone has advice on how to get off a waitlist, I would be grateful for the help.
