I love romantic adeuceyuu as much as the next person (seriously they are my OTP/OT3) but platonic adeuceyuu is everything. Even when I ship Yuu with others, those two will always be two of the most important and significant people in her life.
Ace and Deuce are definitely the type of people who take their status as Fem!Yuu’s/reader’s best friends so seriously. Even if she/you aren’t romantically dating them, they’ve/you’ve been through enough together for everyone else to understand that those two idiots are her/your ride-or-die platonic soulmates. Sure, the three of them would decrease the PDA if it makes Yuu’s/your boyfriend uncomfortable and they can tell that whoever she/you chose is making her/you happy (and she/you deserve every bit of happiness the world has to offer) so they’ll ease off on them but they need to understand that those three have a bond unlike any other, even though there are absolutely no romantic feelings involved.
Ace and Deuce: *To the boyfriend, five minutes after the relationship is revealed* You may be the boyfriend but we’re the best friends. You know what that means?
Yuu’s/Reader’s Boyfriend: What?
Ace and Deuce: We will always be invited to her wedding but we can’t guarantee that you will.
Forget about Papa Crewel, Grandpa Trein, Uncle Vargas and Cool Older Shadow Cousin Sam - these two card soldiers that share half a braincell between them would give her/your suitor the worst shovel talk of all. They would make even Malleus quiver with fear. Unlike the adults, they’ve seen you at your lowest and they’ve seen you get hurt on numerous occasions. And they’ll do whatever they can to make sure that their best friend, who considers them as part of the only family she has, never sheds a tear again.

It seems like I am fated to crawl back to Tumblr every time I play a new Final Fantasy game to wax poetic about my OTPs. This time it's Final Fantasy XVI and Warfield.
To me, there's an important unstated implication I haven't seen many people talk about in the fandom discourse: in medieval/Renaissance Europe (which was the cultural basis for Valisthea), the only reason a girl would be sent as a ward to a man she's not related to with no daughters would be if the intention was for her to eventually marry one of his sons, probably one a little older than she. Clive would have known this. Jill would have known this. Everyone would have known this. Anabella may not have liked it, but she would have known this. Clive and Jill's friendship would have formed with the underlying assumption that they were supposed to be husband and wife one day. While we as modern people tend to revolt at the idea of child betrothal as a matter of principle, we have to remember that, in a world where arranged (or at the very least approved/facilitated) marriage is likely the only option for most people, Clive and Jill would have probably thought they were pretty lucky that they knew and liked the person who they were going to spend the rest of their life with.
So now rewatch the cutscenes when they reunite after thirteen years apart; it's not just "my friend, who I thought was dead for thirteen years, is alive." It's "the only person I have ever thought of as a life partner, who I thought was dead for thirteen years, is alive." It makes complete sense why Jill's immediate response is "I'm going with you; we're facing this together" and why Clive doesn't argue. The fact that they're going to do things together is a foregone conclusion. They never have a "what exactly are we" talk because they don't have to.
This is the way it was supposed to be.

Something I find amusing about C.C. & Lelouch's relationship (spoiler: it's not amusing at all) As a premise, despite everything I'm going to say, CluClu is my otp and will ever be, so this is not intended as a hate shitpost, even if who doesn't like them as a couple is also absolutely welcome to give their take. Furthermore, the topic of my discourse is just their relationship regardless you see it as romantic or not.
Now, to get to the matter, let's take a look first at the other two girls. I've always felt that Lelouch relationship with Shirley and Kallen were somewhat unbalanced, since they clearly had deep, sincere feelings towards him, but as much as he reciprocated them (as friends or almost-lover it doesn't matter here), it's always been them to give the strongest evidence of these feelings. He obviously cared a lot about both, and if I'm being honest I think that Shirley could have been his first love, but he only shows how much important they are to him under dramatic circumstances or if solicited, in response to some showing of "affection" from their part.
In Shirley's case, when he kisses her back after her father's death, when he wipes off her memories, when he blushes because he was expecting her to kiss him and then, sadly, when she dies. As for Kallen, the strongest example that comes to mind to me is when he says "you have to live" after he lied so that she didn't sacrifice her life for him. (I won't take into consideration when he made a move on her, for the following reasons: because he was at his lowest point and was only looking for something to numb himself, sex was the same as drugs at that time, no less self-destructive, and definitely not an act of love; moreover, because he didn't show her any affection AT ALL—what he said to her was straight up insulting and degrading (I state this as a matter of fact, but I'm not judging him here, I could talk about this another time), not something I would proudly bring as a proof of his feelings for her. Lastly, because my point now it's not to demonstrate which girl he had ROMANTIC feelings for.)
Then we have C.C. The only one among the three whose feelings for him were ambiguous to say the least. For the most part of the story, she manipulated and used him for her purposes by encouraging him towards the path that was most convenient for her. She knew from the start the truth about his mother, she watched him struggle and never said a word because that could have made him falter in his determination. She was aware of Charles plans, which she had been complicit with in the past, and also that he had a geass, but never shared these informations with Lelouch, again because that could damage her aim. She was the person who more than anyone else saw how much he was suffering, and I believe she started to care about him even early on the story, but still this wasn't enough to stop her.
Obviously she was conflicted, she often looks torn between what she wants to gain from him and a genuine feeling that she can't allow herself to have. Also, we could argue that, had she really wanted to go all the way with her plan, she could have done so already by trying to kill him, in order to push him to accept the code as the nun did with her (we know from Charles and V.V. that's not necessary to wait for the geass to evolve in both eyes). But she never does this. Deep inside she's not as selfish as she pretends and would like to be, and at a closer look it's lecit to wonder if at some point her decision to stay at his side wasn't for her purposes anymore, even if that was what she kept telling herself—but this doesn't make her actions towards Lelouch any less wrong, any less selfish and manipulative.
As I stated before, among the three C.C. is the only one who, even if she truly had feelings for him, never prioritised them over herself. Even the scene where she comforts him after Euphemia's death is ambiguous, since those words and that gesture came from a person who was taking advantage of him all along.
What about Lelouch though? To me it's always been even shocking how open his feelings for her were (whether you intend them as romantic or not, again, it doesn't matter!). We know him as a person who always acts quite cold (even if he's not), but then we have "I don't know why snow is white, but I think it's beautiful", "If you're a witch then I shall become a warlock", "I promise you the smile you never had", even that snarky "I cannot be friends with a goddess, I've made a contract with the devil". He worries that she could get hurt or die even if he knows she's immortal. To not speak about how he allows himself to be vulnerable in front of her and just her.
So, to refer to the title, what I find "amusing" is how the girl he shows most openly his feelings for is exactly the one who apparently reciprocate less and, for a fact, the one whose reasons for being at his side have always been not totally genuine.
That could open another matter of analisys which I find interesting about Lelouch, namely how his relationship with Suzaku is an ulteriore example of how he clings the most to the people who somewhat reject him and don't give him any assurance that they won't leave him. From a psychological point of view, it seems in line with a young man who in his childhood has suffered from severe trauma bounded to loss and abandonment. It's common in these cases to have the strongest reactions to real or imaginary threats of abandonment, while unconsciously re-enacting the trauma by being emotionally driven towards those who show they could leave at any moment unless you make efforts to hold them back. But this could be the subject of another topic one day, a topic that I would probably call "why I think that Lelouch shows many symptoms of borderline personality disorder, despite the more popular fan-diagnosis that I feel are sometimes dued to a general misunderstanding of personality disorders". Well, that's it! I'm curious to read your opinions, if you like to share :)

thank you @necroticyuzu for the tag! 💫 and thank you everyone who participated in my poll! I love talking about my little Tavs and I can’t stop making them so I’m always down to be tagged in these sorta things!
no pressure tags: @beesht @grandmother-goblin @auspex-author (yk I’m always down for Shior lore)
Tumblr media
Name: Saoirse Nic’Phaid
Gender: female
Pronouns: she/her
Sexuality: mostly straight (but she’s working on defining it)
Tumblr media
OTHER
Family: A complicated conversation. Older human father who’s unable to work, younger wood elf mother who abandons the family often, and an older brother Arthur who was tragically murdered five years before the events of BG3 took place.
Birthplace: Lower City of Baldur’s Gate.
Job: Criminal, I suppose? She doesn’t really have a traditional job. Instead, she’s spent most of her life stealing and then selling items to make a living. It even brought in more money than Arthur was making when he was alive and working.
Phobia: Thalassaphobia. She never learned how to swim.
Guilty Pleasure: Hooking up with problematic men. They oh-so-bad but oh-so-good in bed. Her own ex-boyfriend was a member of the Zhentarim, after all.
Tumblr media
MORALS
Alignment: Neutral Evil - rather selfish in her actions, yet will help others who are similar her.
Sins: Theft. Lots of it. Jealousy, coveting what others may have knowing she could never have it. Will usually say whatever pops in her head without thinking it through first, which gets her in trouble. Can be very self-centered in different situations (ex. she refused to take poison from Nettie at the Grove after she didn’t help the party cure their tadpole)
Virtues: Loyal to those she loves, almost to a fault. When able to, very much a “steal from the rich to give to the poor” type. Believes honesty is the best policy (unless your life is at risk, then lying to save yourself is acceptable). Family is also very important to her, especially her father, and she tried to make sure he had well over a years worth of gold before going on the run.
Tumblr media
THIS OR THAT
Introvert/Extrovert/Ambivert - Likes to be social but also enjoys time to herself. Tries to keep a healthy balance of both.
Organized/Disorganized - in some aspects of her life, at least. When it comes to her money, she’s very organized.
Close Minded/Open Minded - No defining reason. She just is.
Calm/Anxious/Restless - Being on the run for a crime she may (or may not) have committed, she is constantly looking over her shoulder to make sure she and her companions are safe (but mostly her).
Disagreeable/Agreeable - That is, if you see eye to eye with her.
Cautious/Reckless/In Between - After the loss of her brother, she was very reckless in her crimes and overall behavior, but she has calmed down a bit. She will still do risky things for the fun of it, though.
Patient/Impatient/In Between - Do not test her.
Outspoken/Reserved - Almost too outspoken for her own good.
Leader/Follower/Flexible - Because she’s very headstrong, she easily fell into the leader position of the party.
Empathetic/Unemphathetic - To those that are like her: who’ve struggled, who understand how hard life can be. Won’t listen to the sob story of some upper class elitist.
Optimistic/Pessimistic/Realist
Traditional/Modern/In Between
Hardworking/Lazy - But hardworking in the way that she’s taking from others… yeah I don’t like to think about the logistics of it too much.
Tumblr media
RELATIONSHIPS
OTP: Don’t hate me. But. Saoirse is absolutely crushing on Aradin, despite how much of an ass he is. She thinks she can fix him. Maybe she can.
Other Ships: Hooks up with Rugan after rescuing him from the gnolls, which leads to an interesting throuple dynamic when they’re all in Baldur’s Gate.
BroTP: Surprisingly, she and Lae’zel get along swimmingly. Maybe it’s because they have similar personalities. She and Astarion also gossip about the drama between their camp companions, as well as tease each other over their romantic pursuits. Also apparently she and Shadowheart get along very well!
NoTP: Gale annoys her, but she also sees him as a powerful ally and a good companion. Thoroughly rejects any of his advances.

While I am not in the least shipping Chu Qiao with YY this time around, I do like him as a character a lot. And I think the main reason is he is a rare person who accepts responsibility for his fuck ups and outcomes of his actions or inactions.
Think of the scene when he visits Yan Xun in jail. YX, desperately, keeps asking him whether he did X, Y, and Z - all actions that contributed to the platform tragedy (not warning him, preventing his escape etc etc etc.) And YY admits to it all even though there are explanations or excuses for each and every one of these.
He provides none of those explanations or excuses because he gets something most people do not - that all those explanations and excuses would be insults to Yan Xun, that all they would be is attempt for YY to justify himself as not that bad, but none of them would change the ultimate fact - his actions and his inactions (even if different in gradation or kind from what YX believes they are) all led to Yan Xun on that platform, being broken over and over. Trying to justify himself would be trying to go "I am also suffering! see, I also have pain" to the actual victim.
The closest he comes to that is this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But he stops after that one sentence escapes him. Because ultimately whatever he did or didn't do, he realizes it all comes to this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He protects them from outside prison (the only way YX and CQ survive the waves of assassins is because of him) but once again, neither knows because for all his coldness, for all his passivity, YY understands what is fair and what is deserved for him, and does not deviate.
PS As I was telling @aysekira, I have pictured LGX as my Mo Xi from Yuwu for years and years but never could figure out who I wanted for Gu Mang. And now I am going - aaaaaaa just have Shawn Dou be Gu Mang in my head cast. The look, the vibe, hell even the fact that he's a little shorter than LGX all work. And hey, they totally were great at both jumping into beds or fighting to the death. So mmmm.
PPS I normally loathe love triangles, but rewatching PA made me realize something - I don't really hate the trope, it's just that it's almost never done to my satisfaction. It's always ML and SML clearly delineated so you know the outcome/importance so what is the point. Also, it's either an OTP and an annoying interloper who has no chance or FL is waffling and if she doesn't care enough to pick, why should I? BUT!!!!! The very few times it's done right, I lose my mind - this, Bu Bu Jing Xin, Lost You Forever. By that I mean, both choices have to have equal narrative importance and arcs and time (PA for example, is definitely a dual ML drama in the traditional, not "we are putting a fig leaf over a danmei adaptation" form), but also I am a sucker of there is a possibility for either depending on reactions and the world and/or FL loves both differently for different reasons during different points in her life. This is vvvvvvvv hard to pull off right but when they do, mmmmm!
PPPS I don't usually go "threesome would solve all your problems" (and here it definitely won't since YX's issues are not of the type to be healed by love) but it would be at least worth a try? Chu Qiao definitely has enough energy for both of her dudes, YY is icy enough he needs two people to melt him and clearly poor YX needs double the TLC. win win win, say I.

Salty Ask List: 1, 5, 14, 22 ?
1.What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get?
Dr/atc/het 100000%... I just don't understand what their chemistry is supposed to be together. It's partially ruined for me by Drift in MTMTE being an absolute mess of a character who got most of his planned plotlines cut or changed, and partially ruined by the fact Drift spends most of MTMTE straight up absent from the story, and then he and Ratchet meet up in Empire of Stone and come back during Dying of the Light and are just...together romantically now? I don't understand how they have any chemistry at all much less romantic lskdjflkds
I know a big one people talk about is "Ratchet saved Drift's life and then told him he believed in him" but... the way their meeting was written didn't come off as particularly romantic to me? Ratchet saved Drift the same way he's saved countless other addicts in the Dead End and then his parting words to Drift were to tell him to go to the Functionists so they could get him a job. Very "pull yourself up by the bootstraps" kind of advice that clearly didn't work since Drift stayed impoverished, his friend got killed by police brutality, he went into the underworld to be a hitman, etc etc. Like yeah in theory it's very romantic for an OTP's first meeting to be one of them saving the other's life and treating the impoverished person kindly for possibly the first time in their life. It's just that that moment in canon doesn't have romantic vibes to me at all, it's just a doctor-patient encounter in which Ratchet is nice to Drift like he's nice to everyone, except it's also kind of condescending/ignorant bc Ratchet basically tells Drift "oh just get a job and get clean and you'll be fine" as if it's that easy to stop being a homeless/jobless drug addict?? If an ER doctor did that shit to me I'd be more likely to see him as an asshole than to admire or like him at all sdklfjsd.
Then Drift was a Decepticon for millions of years, then he joined the Autobots on Earth and like... he and Ratchet sure existed on the same team together dlkfjldsjlkds there were zero interactions of worth b/t them in phase 1, their ship dynamic came entirely from JRO's writing and even then I feel like it's an informed romance more than an organic and believable one.
5. Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?
I actually used to like O/Pli/ta when I first came here, but as I stayed longer it became evident that the overwhelming majority of the fan content of it reeks of "we are very sorry for having a heterosexual ship, let us compensate for it by making the woman a Girlboss Xtreme and the man a weak simp so that you can be sure the woman isn't being Oppressed and Stereotyped by being in a heterosexual romantic relationship" which is one of my most detested types of fan content, so now I have the ship tag blocked sldkfjlsdkdskl. Literally it's just the same "the woman is a TOTALLY COMPETENT AND COOL ACTION HERO and her man is a TOTAL SIMP FOR HER" that's interchangeable with most het ships in other fandoms, where there's no actual personality or chemistry for them and instead it's just the same Fandom Approved Heterosexual Relationship Dynamic.
That and a significant amount of content I see for it is just like blatantly ripped off from Me/go/p dslkfjsdfsjl or like, taking the main MOP dynamic and just swapping OP and Elita's places so now Elita is the cool action hero who's rival to Megatron and OP just Exists as an emotional support husband I guess. Or like Elita is made into a daring action hero while Optimus is reduced to a meek little wallflower who's no one of any real importance and just follows in her wake. It reeks of insecurity and unoriginality, as if the fanbase is cripplingly aware that Elita was made to be the Token Girlfriend and instead of just making her a better character and making the romance she's a part of more equal and compelling for both characters, they have to violently overcompensate by having Elita steal OP's role and everything interesting about him. 😂Like I'm begging people to just be normal about hetero ships. You can ship a man and a woman together without having to diminish the man and girlbossify the woman to prove you're a Real Feminist.
14. Unpopular opinion about your fandom?
Continuity soup is boring and for the most parts creates purely fanon plots/ideas/characterizations that have tenuous relationships to actual canon. It's nice that people have the creativity to make their own AUs, but I also want to read about the actual continuity in question and not someone's mishmash of it.
Like UGH when I read a fic tagged IDW1 I want to see cop Orion not archivist or dockworker Orion. When I read a fic tagged IDW1 I want to read about the Senate led by Proteus and the reigns of Nova/Nominus/Sentinel/Zeta, not about the Council from TFP. When I read a fic tagged IDW1 MegOP I want Orion being a simp for Megatron after reading his stuff/meeting him one (1) time sdkflsdkf not yet another iteration of the tired "one day an archivist and a gladiator became great friends! then they broke up."
It's not hate for other continuities, I'm just tired of the fact that continuity soup is so prevalent that even when I'm specifically filtering for content of the one continuity I want to read about, the fics I find keep having random shit from other continuities interjected into it. I think each continuity has really interesting takes on lore that have potential to be wholly unique for each one, so it's really frustrating when the average fic I can find is just a random mishmash of continuity elements, or more often than not just an IDW knockoff taking place in a separate continuity. Like guys, I'm an IDW stan myself, but wouldn't it be cool if we got more fics that explored ideas that only happen in G1, or only happen in Animated, or Aligned, etc?
Doesn't help that when I AM looking specifically for IDW stuff, most of the content I look at (MOP) does continuity soup for the sake of replacing IDW OP with some sort of aligned/g1 lite OP which makes me salty as hell
22. Popular character you hate?
Drift for sure sdklfsdlk. I mean when I first read about him in the comics (the Drift miniseries) I was like, he's fine I guess he's an action hero whatever. But then literally the more of the comics I read the more his personality and story were just incredibly corny, stereotypical, or boring as hell no matter what writer was controlling him. And he got bounced around between writers a lot, and then even the "main author" people know Drift from (JRO) kept changing his plans for what Drift was supposed to be (and cutting plots related to him) so any hints towards a storyline went nowhere. And then Drift spent basically all of MTMTE gone elsewhere on some exile-adventure, and then during LL he just kind of. Is there, existing.
So like, honestly Drift is a victim of getting bounced back and forth and having his writing changed so often he doesn't reach his full potential, which isn't really "his fault" as a character. It just so happens that I also think the bits of his character that exist are either boring or overhyped or in one case (portrayal of his religion/religious worldbuilding in general) outright offensive. He's basically written like some hippie stereotype with vaguely Asian/Japanese flavoring (the extent of which is basically his name + fighting style) and then he barely like... does anything in the plot? I think he's supposed to be like, ~mysterious and shifty~ but then all of the plotlines that involved him being a secret traitor got cut, so Drift basically just became Weirdly Suspicious For No Reason and his genuine personality/motivations felt indistinguishable from what he was faking and what plots got cut from him. Absolute mess of a character that got almost no payoff for any of the things planned for him, and all that's left is some kooky hippie personality of "hee hoo I believe in auras and mystical vibes and magical colors, also I'm dating an atheist who's openly dismissive of most of my religious beliefs (that I do or don't actually believe in depending on what part of the story I'm in) and this somehow doesn't get in the way of our personal/romantic chemistry
But then the fanbase are basically making him some kind of Gary Stue, obsessed with making headcanons like "Deadlock wrote/edited Megatron's speeches for him too!" and "Drift defected from the Decepticons to try and make a point to Megatron!" and generally trying to make him the Decepticons' Specialest Boy Ever and it's just. Ugh I get that he was under-written in canon, but every bit of fanon I've encountered doesn't make him interesting either. They just kind of make Drift the center of the world where he's actually the coolest, most talented and interesting person ever where other characters owe their accomplishments partially to his influence and I'm just. I don't get it, I don't understand the appeal of fanon and I don't even understand the appeal of canon either. I think part of it is for representation reasons (e.g. Asian, lower class, former drug addict) and it's nice that people can pull something meaningful out of the mess that is canon. It's just for me, canon Drift is so mediocre I don't get why anyone would even WANT him as representation sdlkfjsdlkf. I guess fixing what the writers failed to explore the potential of is an understandable motivation though.

Opinions on DirkRose?
so when i was 16-18 in high school i was briefly in this very tightknit three person online friend group with me + this extremely popular homestuck artist at the time + their best friend that i quickly developed a crush on. and this online friend roleplayed dirk at the same time i was roleplaying rose (a rose from the same timeline as whom is probably the most famous dave strider roleplayer in the history of homestuck rp. but that nuclear fallout is a story for another day) in the wild wild west that was the 2012 homestuck rp landscape on tumblr (aka the multiple timelines theory)(at some point my rose was involved with, like, a marius pontmercy. yes from les mis. and also a genderbent rose in an ambiguous almost selfcest situationship.)
anyway so i asked her if she wanted to ship our rp characters which was very "baby's first time asking for what they want" of me, and she said yes, and dirk and rose wrote each other a couple of inter-dimensional letters that were quite beautiful and poignant at least in my memory. the vibe was "very traumatized young adults find an equally jaded and verbose kindred spirit and they tentatively show each other the vulnerable side that they can't show anyone else through the safe distance of penpalship" so of course the rp brain chemicals were INTENSE (by the way the three of us were in a slightly larger skype group chat with a couple of other tumblr friends, whom ocassionally would make "you and alex should date lol!" jokes. my fragile teenage psyche was convinced it was going to happen)
but anyway the writing was super slow and i knew that this friend was much more into dirkjake (and VERY hung up on our other friend/her best friend) but whenever i could hold her attention she seemed to be interested in our writing
her dirk had a poetry sideblog (i want to say cringe in retrospect but honestly. at the time i thought it was some elevated literary use of the medium. and it probably was) and i would check it CONSTANTLY trying to decipher if anything new dirk posted was about my rose, but the posts were too vague for solid conclusions
anyway long story short for what was probably somewhere between months and a year (can't recall) i lived in that rp brain chemical addiction thrill-of-the-chase hell state surviving on kernels of character interactions and fantasies about dirk and rose, like i'm talking emotional-support OTP levels of emotional investment. the daily emotional rollercoaster was insane. it would make or break my day depending on what vague poetry dirk strider posted
until ONE DAY.... I FOUND OUT.... she had been rping dirkjake with our OTHER friend/her best friend for a while AND JUST DIDN'T TELL ME. BECAUSE SHE DIDN'T WANT TO UPSET ME. I WAS HEARTBROKEN (these weren't multishipping type blogs. you had one character timeline and by god you stuck to it)
i legitimately do not recall what i did re: the dirk ordeal, but i do remember that at some point (the timeline in relation to the rp drama is long lost to the sands of time) i confessed and she rejected me and i felt soooo led on which was probably a product of this friend being so conflict averse. i was in a crying or close-to-tears state for about a day and a half which i recall very vividly because at the time it was by FAR the biggest social heartbreak of my life. a solid 36 hours of "i'm going to feel like this FOREVER and my heart will never HEAL" teenage angst. i remember it so viscerally lol. especially because my parents straight up didn't notice. but that's an entirely different can of baggage
anyway eventually i met my then-girlfriend and the three person friend group drifted apart. much later i found out they had felt soooo betrayed but what was i supposed to do. third wheel them as the least important person in the group forever??? i think at some point the three of us hung out together for an afternoon when we happened to be in the same city but it must have been completely unremarkable because i don't remember any of it.
anyway what was the question again. yeah dirkrose is fine

Fanfic Author 20 Questions
Thanks to @erisluna35 for sending this along! 1. How many works do you have on AO3?
On AO3? Right now 63, soon to be 64(tomorrow probably) and a couple on FF.net
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
1,020,860 on AO3 plus another ~86K fic I never ported over to AO3, as my 'recent' stuff, starting back in 2021
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Mostly Miraculous Ladybug, I did others a long time ago before joining AO3, but that was a long time ago. I've considered a couple others recently too, but nothing yet.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
At The Gala- A Chlonette fic inspired by fanart, and actually the sequel to my #2 by Kudos. This is just a cute series of strange interactions with Chloe from Marinette's PoV, culminating in understanding and discovery on a fated evening.
Slippery slope- Little Chlonette ficlet inspired by a fanart. Very short, it's about how a single unexpected moment can change someone's entire world.
Ever After- A long chapter fic set more than a decade post-canon that looks into the idea that 'Ever After' can be a long time, and that expecting life to be solved at 14 is a recipe for eventual disaster. Yet at the same time life continues to offer new experiences, new possibilities, and new ways to grow. Ships include Adrienette, Chloadrien, and Felinette.
Showing Love- An alternate ending to Queen Wasp, where instead of reuniting Chloé with her horrible mother by highlighting everything horrible about her (seriously, what?) Marinette comes face to face with the reality that a mother really *can* not love a child. Being Marinette she can't let such a thing stand, even if it is Chloé. Marinette&Dupain-Cheng family goodness.
What Do you See?- Adrigami fic that kicks off right in the middle of Kuro Neko. While Adrien is struggling with the pain of giving up Cat Noir, one thing crosses his mind. He can finally give one important person the truth she deserves. After all, he *Was* Cat Noir, not *is*. The two both struggle to navigate the ramifications of this revelation, especially when Plagg shows up once more with the ring. (there's a little bit of eventual Lukanette)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I try to respond to most, especially any questions or curiosities. I love engagement.
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Oh heck this is so not fair. I am in love with bittersweet ending, and have a couple of doozies.
I can't decide between three.
What Happened- The 'real reason' Chloé Bourgeois's redemption arc failed. What do you di when you do everything right, only to find out your happiness causes the end of the world, in every timeline?
A Modest Proposal- Marinette is happily impatient for Adrien to finally propose to her. Little does she know, a secret long kept is going to come back to haunt her. It's worse than you think.
The Risk Outweighs- A look into someone else's life during the episode 'Risk'. The courage to do anything finally gives Chloé the strength to break from the cycle. But the Ladybugs must set things right, and a few moments of clarity weigh nothing against a lifetime.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Again, lots with happy endings, though I prefer 'open' endings, so...hmmm
Cafe Noir- has an unambiguously happy ending, but I specifically set out to write a romcom so that feels like cheating.
Dog Daze- probably has the most comprehensively happy ending, Adrien's dad even managed to try to parent. They do go through a lot on the way to the happy ending though.
In Direct Opposition- My latest work, seems to end on a solidly happy note for all involved.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Ever After drew some upset people that expected their OTP to be the main ship. I never tried to deceive anyone, but a few people were just really upset.
I also had this weird thing where someone thought I was someone else, and stalked my comments for a while. That's why I use moderation now.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I've done M rated fics. I'm not sure 'smut' works for them, even if there's lots of sex narratively, it's usually mentioned rather than being detailed. I did one single 'this will be a smut fic' fic. And even that ended up with like, 5K words mostly plot, and about 2 paragraphs of (I think emotional and important) sex.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
Nah, I've never had the crossover itch. I generally find each world intriguing enough on their own.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of...
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yep! I had someone ask if they could translate one of my fics to Russian.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Nope. Talked about it before, but never went through with it. Not against the idea. I do a lot of rubber ducking for my friends though, so some of my ideas can end up in their finished fics.
14. What's your all-time favorite ship?
I'm going ot have to go with adribrina, my goobers. I like exploring all kinds of ships, and these two I threw together on a whim but Oh, they're so comfy! I wrote Puppy Love to see how they would work, and then that evolved into Dog Daze, my Largest work to date. I had *intended* for them to amicably break up and Sabrina to be a wing-woman to Adrien in the canon ship of Adrienette.... but they just did not want to break up. Even if they wouldn't admit they were dating, they were just too *comfy* together. These two make me happy. (Marinette ended up okay though, she's happy!)
15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
A third fic in my Senti-Sentai AU. 'Worlds Collide'. It was set in 'vague eastern Europe country in the middle of violent conflict' and then that suddenly got too real, too quickly.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Character voice. I write third person limited, and I've been told many times that I do a very good job of writing characters as their canonical selves, just in different situations that bring about different outcomes or changes in them. I consider that a high compliment, because the characters are what I am here for.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Brevity. Even simplistic plots 'enemies to friends road trip' become detailed 'Marinette manipulates Chloé into chasing Adien and Lila across the globe to prevent Lila from wheedling an arranged Marriage out of Gabriel' and then that blossoms into a 98K fic.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I feel like my last of understanding grammar and colloquialisms for another language would have me sounding like bad google translate. Singular words used? Viable.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
SWATKats. My first ever fanfic was a 30K fic about that show.
20. Favorite fic you've ever written?
They are all my babies! This is so not fair. I've spoken about some of my favorites earlier though, so I'll use this spot to mention some other ones :)
He's Perfect- Gothic Horror Adrienette! It even has a sequel and an entire AU in my head if I can circle back.
The Orphan and the Marionette- Written to feel like one of Grimm's fairy tales. Chlonette(kind of) with a heavy dose of magic and a surprise appearance from Marianne.
There are so many more but I'll plug Dog Daze again, because I to like how it flows and the alternate S5 we get from it. It also inspired a raft of 'post story' one shots, and I have another chapter fic waiting in the wings to continue the AU. There's plenty of stories to tell here.
@taketwoinink Tag, if you would like to play.

qi rong! i kid, i kid. how about jc.
I will ignore your cruel taunting and focus on my viniferous darling.
a song that reminds me of them
I don't think I have a personal anthem for him, but En Fortapt Bror (A Prodigal Brother) by Rotvelt would probably go on the playlist if I made one, just for this bit alone:
Kan ikke ta det tilbake Kan ikke få du gjort Jeg vil ikke ha tilgivelse Det vil ikke vaske det bort
Can't take it back Can't get you done I don't want forgiveness It won't wash it away
what they smell like
If we're getting poetic, like lotus fragrance and ozone.
an otp
No one in the cast is right for JC but I do think he wants and deserves a suitable wife so I like the idea of reading something where he's in a relationship. His problem is that he needs just, so much therapy before he can make an effective life partner for anyone. He features in this postcanon AU I wrote and that's a reasonable depiction of how I think things could shake out for him after many years have passed if he's worked on himself. Basically, I know his extracanonical list of qualities he requires in a wife is meant to be humorous, but I tried to incorporate them into an OC while also making her a match for him.
I dabbled in reading Sangcheng because I am a slave to @starwife and like, in theory, many many many many many years postcanon who knows what might happen? And mightn't that be interesting? Sadly I have come to the conclusion that it's too much of a stretch and isn't my cup of tea. Pls forgive
a notp
I was racking my brain to think of a JC pairing I kneejerk hate beyond the general 'well, he isn't really compatible with any of the characters we meet' stance and then I realised I had forgotten Xicheng exists. Pause for audience laughter.
What can I even add here? It's based on nothing and it's not even like there's the intelligence of a thoughtful resistant read behind it. The laziest possible pair the spares approach taken by people whose reading comprehension is so poor they think JGY is an irredeemable cackling villain and WWX is a noble woobie. Thankfully it's easy for me to avoid and therefore ironically ends up irritating me less than bad Xiyao in practice.
favorite platonic/familial relationships
I love his relationship with his mother. She's just horrendous to him and I don't think he ever has any concrete evidence she loves him until their final moments together, but what I find most interesting and realistic is that he seems to understand her. He can see why she is who she is, which doesn't in any way mitigate the damage she does but is an important part of their dynamic because it's an element of why he defends her and it contributes to how he internalises her criticisms.
My favourite JC and YZY moment is this:
Jiang Cheng was stuck between his father and his mother. After a moment of hesitation, he moved to his mother’s side. Holding his shoulders, Madam Yu pushed him forward for Jiang FengMian to see, “Sect Leader Jiang, it seems that some things I have to say. Look carefully—this, is your own son, the future head of Lotus Pier. Even if you frown upon him just because I was the one who bore him, his surname is still Jiang! … I don’t believe for one second that you haven’t heard of how the outside people gossips, that Sect Leader Jiang has still not moved on from a certain Sanren though so many years have passed, regarding the son of his old friend as a son of his own; they’re speculating if Wei Ying is your…”
YZY emotionally, verbally and sometimes physically abuses her son. She is failing him as a mother and as a mentor. But she is not failing him as badly as JFM is failing him, and everything she says here is completely correct. And when JC and WWX talk about it afterwards, JC is also correct. WWX and LWJ kill the Xuanwu of Slaughter and no one cares or gives JC credit for his less glamorous contributions. His own father prefers WWX and doesn't even like him, and that is appalling.
WWX means well by trying to gloss over it, but it's an open secret and pretending it's not true is harmful. YZY is also going about it all wrong, but she's the only person who calls JFM out directly for failing his son. Pot, kettle, but there's a reason why when JC is stuck between his parents he ends up going over to his mother's side.
a headcanon that is popular in the fandom but that i disagree with
I'm going to go radical here and say I don't personally enjoy or want to read any postcanon Twin Heroes reconciliation. The novel is pretty final about how things end up for them, and it's my belief that they are both far better off not being in each other's lives any more. It's sad because they were close as brothers and love each other so deeply, but ultimately it's for the best. They both appear to be in agreement about this.
the position they sleep in
Probably looks all super cool and handsome when he sleeps, but unfortunately not quite as super cool and handsome as WWX.
a crossover au i’d love to see them in
Puella Magi Madoka Magica. Can you imagine.
my favorite outfit they’ve ever worn
We all know I'm MDZS first in almost everything, but I'm not a huge fan of JC's hair in the official art. Besides, it cracks me up that JC is far and away the most stylish member of the cast in CQL, and yet there's no indication that it's actually an interest of his. CQL NHS wearing his same basic bitch grey and white yet again while CQL JC swaggers past in his shoulder pads owning the entire world—amazing. How could I pick a favourite? I do like his official photo look though, because the gold looks great with the purple.

YAMICHAR in the final arc
At the end of the day, this blog is still dedicated to Yami and Charlotte. So of course everything that's happening in the story, I'm gonna relate it somehow to my OTP of OTPs. Some possibilities that I think could happen during the final arc, in order of best-case to worst-case scenarios:
1. Yami and Charlotte are totally fine, indestructible, and kick paladin ass together.
The best I can hope for as a shipper is that they somehow avoid the raging death flags and manage to win, together, then finally have that adult conversation over tea about what it is they've got going on.
They fight together like they did during the Elf arc, except this time it's much better since Charlotte will be in full-control of her body. We get proper development of their relationship during battle, either Yami surpassing his limits because her life is in danger, or Charlotte overcoming her insecurities about not being strong enough to stand by him, because goddamn it, they're knocking paladins left and right, showing these knights how it's done (or both, honestly?).
I want Charlotte to unlock the full extent of her powers, realizing that loving someone isn't a sign of weakness, but is a source of strength. Watching Yami fight his hardest because he loves his squad finally gets her to see what it is that makes him so strong, and it's because of his heart. That in spite of the pain he's faced in his life, Yami chooses to love the people who matter to him—it just so happens that his love language is kicking the asses of those who hurt the people he cares about.
Best-best case scenario??? A kiss. But that's just never gonna happen now ahaha.
2. Yami turns into a monster
There's something about that devil heart... Tabata wouldn't have put it there if it isn't important, right? And Yami being a punching bag key character of the series, there has to be a breaking point.
This man's entire life has been a tragedy. He had an abusive father, a sister who was coerced into killing his family and then choosing to shoulder the blame on her behalf, washing ashore on a strange country then being treated with racism, looked down on by members of society in spite of his achievements; now slowly losing the people he loves....
No wonder this man has so many vices. I'd be super stressed too, if this was my life. It's honestly a wonder how Yami's worst habit is just smoking??
So yeah, this seems most likely to me rn. I feel like this development would absolutely destroy Asta. That this world is so broken that even the seemingly infallible Captain Yami has fallen victim to it. Also, the role reversal in the Elf arc would be interesting; Charlotte trying to get Yami to snap out of it along with the Black Bulls? What a scrumptious idea.
3. They both die
Now listen, this isn't my favourite outcome, but it's still not as bad as the next one. If both of them die, I'd of course be devastated, but at least neither one has to live the rest of their life alone & wondering what could have been.
To me, it would be better to face death with hands adjoined than to be left pining for a ghost, especially if it was Charlotte who survives and not Yami. That would just be beyond cruel, I think. But this is of course, my personal opinion.
4. One of them dies
I love a good angsty fic, but I would absolutely be crushed if only one of them dies. Sorry if people think that this is childish. I think if BC had established itself as a manga with high stakes from the get-go, then I would kind of understand, but one of the things I liked about the series is the minimal-amount of deaths so far?? Idk.... I'm just fiercely protective of my fav characters (and I honestly love a lot of them). So yeah, either Yami or Char dying would leave a bad taste in my mouth.
I would also like to add that Charlotte dying to spur Yami's devil heart transformation would absolutely be a worst-case scenario for me. We've built her character up for so long and then at the end she becomes fodder for one of the male protags??? I'd be livid lol
Bonus Super Duper Crack Theory That Has A 0.00001% Chance Of Happening:
When Charlotte and Yami had dinner to discuss her curse, she said that 'The curse had altered the shape of her soul'. And her being cursed has hindered her from fully mastering her magic.
Additionally, it was explained that all curses are born from Megicula. In her fight, she had combined the knowledge of magic runes from the Heart Kingdom to modify her curse, allowing her to wield both blue and red roses.
We also know that Lucius's power involves the transformation of souls. He explains that 'The soul is the source of human life, spirit, and magic.' He can manipulate someone's soul and implant directives that they cannot disobey. BUT we did see that Sister Lily's resolve falters as she fights against Asta, so Lucius's magic isn't as infallible as he believes it to be. Therefore, his magic can be negated by anti-magic OR by strong emotion.
So what the hell am I rambling on about? Well, what if Charlotte becomes a devil along with Yami? Would Lucius's magic work on her, as her soul has already been affected by another devil (Megicula)? Being cursed changed the quality of her magic, yet in the Spade arc, Charlotte was able to work around a spell that altered her damn SOUL. I think it would be pretty sick for Charlotte to fully embrace the darkness of the devil's curse on her metaphorical heart. Plus, you know, Devil!Yami and Devil!Charlotte kicking "angel" ass is sexy to think about.

Yes i 100% agree with you on what you said about soukoku but now i MUST ask you to talk about odazai as well if you're up for it because i love them too. They are so important to me
Yes, absolutely! Sorry I didn't get to this sooner, it was past midnight last night and I've had classes all day. Odazai has become my OTP to end all OTPs, like it is unfathomable how much I love them. I could literally talk about them all day, so I'm sorry this got so long. I'm so happy you're a chill member of the fandom and love them too! By the way, I wanted to say I totally agree with your opinions on Kousano and respect your Chuuaku ones too! Kousano very much feels like a "these two are cool, put them together" kind of ship without a lot of concern for their development and similarities. While I do love Kouyou as a character, I don't have fond feelings for her when she's presented just by herself (as opposed to her other canon relationships like with Kyouka), and liking both parties of a ship is pretty much a requirement for me. Luckily, this happened with Odazai!
In general I do view this ship through a Dazai heavy lens because I relate to him hardcore and it's hard for me to understand/get attached to stoic characters like Oda. This is weird because I'm probably more like him irl than Dazai lol. I always feel like I'm not looking as deeply into Oda's character as I could be, and I try to be conscious of not lessening his role in comparison to Dazai's, but keep that in mind and judge me if you want as you read this lol.
What made you ship it?
The fact that Dazai showed the most emotion I've ever seen on his face and in his voice (amazing job by Miyano Mamoru) around Oda and the later realization that Dazai was Oda's first and one of his only friends. Not to say other characters *coughcoughchuuyacough* haven't made a significant impact on Dazai. I try not to compare these two ships a lot cause they are both meaningful in their own ways to the story and the characters. But anyway, I cried like a little bitch before Oda's big fight/death scene even happened, when Dazai just is begging him not to go throw away his life and trying to relate to him on a deeply personal level to get him to stay. That really showed to me how much he cared for Oda and how different that relationship was to him whether he knew it or not. Someone also edited the Dead Apple scene beautifully to be more shippy and I can never forget it. Also, Scarlet Sky playing every time Oda is talked about or Dark Era is referenced in the main storyline got me sobbing. I guess what truly made me ship Odazai is just the abundance of a suggested romantic connection (very obvious on Dazai's part). Dark Era (confronting Mori about this massive betrayal and leaving the mafia feels like "you have destroyed everything that was ever important to me, bye"), how Oda thinks of Dazai, not Ango or the orphans, when he believes he's dying after getting poisoned, Dazai literally ruining peoples' lives that he holds dear in the present just so Oda can live and be happy even without him in Beast, Dear Prince (a love song) playing when Dazai recalls that moment in Dead Apple and in the flashback later on, "Was it someone you loved?" and dodging the question LIKE HOW OBVIOUS can you get!!
2. As I fell further into the rabbit hole. . .
So I joined an Odazai discord server around a year ago, love it there, everyone's so creative and lovely, here if interested: https://discord.gg/tnA3mzyB. There's also a lot of analyses on Odazai on Tumblr that make sense! This post about Oda and Dazai being each other's regrets (from Dark Era light novel, Oda says, "Ango and I could stay by Dazai's side because we can understand the loneliness that revolves around Dazai. Even though we are by his side, we would never step within. But now, I'm a little regretful that I never stepped into that loneliness impolitely." Oda just say you wanna hold his hand lol), this whole post about them filling each other's unmet childhood needs, this which basically puts all Odazai moments and mentions together, I absolutely love this theory that there's a physical change in Dazai's ability after he meets Oda, there's just so much to love about them.
3. What I don't like:
Putting this here cause I don't want to end on this note. This ain't even about Oda and Dazai, it's just about the fandom. I don't think any of us who like this ship like the people who complain about the 5 year age difference. It's not a lot at all, especially when you take literally everything else about their relationship into account and the fact that it's fictional and fun. But since side A and B have come out (which I haven't read) I've seen people kind of using it as further evidence that the age gap is a problem and let it cloud their judgement on Oda and Dazai's respective personalities and boundary abiding tendencies. In addition to that I always see the, "but Oda calls him a child and views him like that in the novel" argument, which I don't really get. I watched some YouTube video a while ago that was like, why do partners call each other baby or babe? It's because those words represent a yearning to take care of the other and foster a better, more committed relationship or something like that. Saying your friend has a hurt expression like a lost kid doesn't necessarily mean you think of them as significantly younger or immature compared to you. This especially applies in fictional writing where it can just be used as a helpful visual for something that will be adapted to a screen. I don't have a problem with fans who dislike Odazai romantically, but I do when they completely deny their equal footing. Come on, Oda mixes up his fairytales and Dazai is insanely smart, their relationship would never be abusive on an age basis. Anyway.
4.. What are your favorite things about the ship?
Well for one, I'm a sucker for angst and pain and two, I love childhood friends/best friends to lovers so so so much. Add in the possibility of enemies to lovers in Beast and they have it all. I guess I like the ambiguity and flow of how their relationship could go too. Like, they both would think moving in with each other is totally natural friend behavior, and then there'll be this phase of realization and it'll just pass by like yeah, we're married now. From Dark Era, we get that Oda, Dazai, and Ango can all be friends outside their different ranking mafia positions because they all feel that they think similarly and understand each other. They're all on equal ground, so Dazai and Oda having a profound connection built off that is something I think can be an accurate reflection of real life. At their cores, both want the best for each other. Oda wants Dazai to have a life meaningful to him and suggests that path through what he knows, Dazai wants Oda to live out his dream, helping him to do that in whatever way possible. They are separated by time and space, yet so closely linked by what they've found with each other it hurts. There's literally already a family there with the kiddos too! These two seem to get dumber in each other's presence like SSKK also does and I find that amusing lol. I appreciate that Oda is serious about the people he cares about and doesn't take Dazai's suicide obsession as lightly as a lot of other characters, as some shippers speculate because he has also had depression at one point or another. I love that in several peoples' minds, Odazai would only have conflict when they're upset the other isn't taking care of themself properly. I love that Oda is such an oblivious himbo. I love that people speculate Dazai's bolo tie reminds him of Oda's eyes and that he picked the spot for the grave that overlooks a beautiful view even if he didn't know Oda loved the ocean. I love that they both realize they care about each other when it's too late, that they will meet in the afterlife.
I have many feelings and thoughts. Thank you so much if you listened to me rant and read this whole thing!

Kazuha and Ran's meta
Before starting, I need to say a few disclaimers. This post will have spoilers for the most recent Herensuge’s Main Story and for Hitotsuyanagi’s Stage Plays (League of Garden, The Fateful Gift and Lost Memorias). I won’t try to not reveal major events in the story. So, if you didn’t play until 覚醒のスキャルドメール and don’t want to recieve major spoilers, I advise to not read this meta.
Second disclaimer: I still didn’t read some of Hervarar's events because they didn’t have Ran as an important character (so it didn’t interest me when I don’t have time to dedicate myself to read in Japanese, which takes so much time), I didn’t buy any of official supply materials because they don’t ship to my country and i’m not considering any Fumi’s tweets to this meta. So a lot of things may diverge from what was showed in 慟哭のクリューサーオール, 悪蝕のナイトメア, 灼炎のエニグマ, 竜楯のコンフリクト, in official suplementar material and Fumi’s tweets (which all of them contradicts each other, so at the end it doesn’t matter that much). I’m just trying to have fun, then don’t take everything I say as absolute truth and, specially, don’t be mad at me because I interpreted something different.
Third: I won’t be using prints from Stage Plays, but I’ll talk about them.
And the last: this meta will be a mix between Kazuha and Ran’s personalities analyzed as their own characters (consequently, a bit about why I love them as individual characters) and why KazuRan is my OTP. So if you feel uncomfortable with the ship, this post may not be for you.
Tumblr media
Official art of Kazuha and Ran from one of the real life’s music presentations
When I started the game, I didn’t know any of the “new characters” (Hervarar and Gran Eple’s members, because at this point I only had watched the anime), so I didn’t expect anything from them. So it was a surprise how much I liked Kazuha in the tutorial’s story. She sounded as a rigid and serious girl at the start (which ended up being true later in the game), so I got really interested in her. Then, when Hervarar appeared in the Main Story that early, I got really happy and fell in love with all the other 4 immediately because they were Kazuha’s friends. But among the 4 of them, Ran didn’t let anyone else get my attention.
And it wasn’t just because she is a chaotic autistic little girl that talk just like me (when I don’t want to force myself to talk), but there was another reason and that was because she was exactly the opposite of Kazuha in personality and appearance, and still, they had lovely interactions between them.
After reading a lot of Hervarar’s stories and interactions, it was clear to me that Kazuha and Ran were opposite from each other, but at the same time, were similar characters.
Kazuha is a really interesting character. She is a really serious girl, who takes her responsibility as Hervarar’s leader (and the other girls' leader at the same time) to the extreme. She even got for herself the responsibility from the Hervarar’s leader during Hinode’s Tragedy, something that wasn’t her fault nor something she should bear. And still, Kazuha took it to her heart and made everything to endure this responsibility, to the point of almost getting herself killed. Not only this, but she even almost sacrificed herself trying to change Herensuge (or in other words, following her ideals). And because of this stubborn personality, she almost didn’t get along with Renka and Yoh at the start, and almost got herself, Chikaru, Yoh and Renka killed during 竜のシャナと楯の乙女 and other events where they fight Cuelebre. The reason for this is only because she “was there” in Hinode’s Tragedy and “was saved” by a Madec (I’ll get to this point again after in the post). She is what we can call a “responsible girl” because of what I talked about, but also because she takes all her tasks with extreme priority.
She is really strict too, with herself and with other people (just in a way less intense than she is with herself), at the point in always training and forcing herself to the limits. Her charismatic personality as a leader also made me love her so much, specially because she is dumb; she get joked a lot by Hervarar’s girls (specially by Renka and Ran), she is a simple minded girl and is so passionate about things she cares about and likes a lot.
I really love how she have a “savior complex” at the start too. It was so fun and cute how Kazuha said to Ran to get behind Kazuha when they first met each other. But not only this. She really shows much care for everyone in Hervarar and likes to protect others (just like in League of Gardens, when she stops Kotohi to beat Kanaho, or when she got really mad talking that Ran is a Boosted Lily in The Fateful Gift). When you try to understand Kazuha outside of what is explicitly shown, she is a really complex character and develops too much after interacting a lot with all the Hervarar’s members.
On other hand, Ran shows herself as a “simple character” at the start. She has a child-ish personality that tries to simplify everything she can. She loves simple things (sleeping, fighting Huges and eating). She doesn’t understand a lot of things at the start, even things that are “common sense” (just like she doesn’t know why dying is a bad thing), nor know how to take care of herself. And not only this, she don’t care about her own safety nor about the cities safety at the start, getting at the point of destroying the harbor in 罪なき少女達のスティグマ and active Lunatic Trancer and going at the front without help from her friends. I really love how she only hears and obeys Kazuha in this subject, to the point of stopping destroying buildings in the city later in the game and being more careful in the fights with Huges. I still get soft every time I watch The Fateful Gift, where Ran only stops trying to beat Kotohi when Kazuha calls her name; nor Yoh and Renka could stop her, but it was enough Kazuha just calling her name. And there is something like this in the game too. When Kazuha goes with Riri, Yuyu and Kanaho, Renka says that Kazuha is the one that stops Ran from going wild or before them.
But Ran is way more complex than any of this. Even if she looks simple and even not important, Ran is the most emotional mature in Hervarar. She is the only one that doesn’t get desperate when everything goes wrong in 竜のシャナと楯の乙女. And the funniest is that she can manipulate all the girls just like her idle line in summer, where she says that she can get water from the girls just saying that it is hot. I even dare to say that Ran is the character with the most character development in Last Bullet, because when you watch her in Hervarar’s story and after in 覚醒のスキャルドメール, it is difficult to say that she is the same character.
Tumblr media
Print of the Main Story when Renka says that stopping Ran is Kazuha’s duty Translation from the print: Renka: Eh? A, wait, Ran! Shit, it is always Kazuha’s duty.
Having said all of this about the two of them, I think it is clear how they are so different from each other. Kazuha is the responsible, serious and rigid character’s archetype, while Ran is the chaotic childish character’s archetype. But they are way more similar than it appears. I even call them mirror reflections from each other or that they are different sides of the same coin.
Both are Boosted Lilies created differently from others; Ran was boosted before she was born, and Kazuha only exists because she is boosted. And they’re boosted in different labs from Herensuge that probably don’t get along with each other. Both “died” in Hinode (the person that owns Kazuha’s body and the madec she got her personality from, and Ran got her vital signals stopped in a period of time). Kazuha is so strictly and rigid, while Ran is a free chaotic spirit that “no one can control” (outside Kazuha), but they learn from each other how to be different; Kazuha learns how to not be that rigid (she lets Ran eats Taiyaki with everyone in Hervarar everyday after 覚醒のスキャルドメール)  and Ran starts getting everything Kazuha says as absolute truth (just like she calls Cuelebre as bad kids) and stops going wild by her own. Even the way they talk is so opposite, with Kazuha being too formal and Ran being too informal.
And it is fun how Ran is the emotional mature in Hervarar, while Kazuha loses her mind every time she gets in an argument with Fuuka and Cuelebre (and have a mind break just from Fuuka saying that she isn’t the real Kazuha), the exactly opposite their archetypes do.
But it isn’t just it that made me fell in love with the ship. I really love their interactions, how they care too much for each other, how Ran makes fun of Kazuha for everything, how Kazuha worries too much about Ran (at the point at finding her in one of the Summer’s short stories), how Ran is always so much empathic towards Kazuha at the point to ask if Kazuha is mad or something like that, both wanting to protect each other, how Ran gets sad whenever Kazuha gets sad, Kazuha being the one that takes care of Ran (in bath, in class, when she tries to go wild, to taught her common sense, when Ran gets lost and a lot of other things) and all their other interactions. But above everything I love the extreme care, love and trust Ran shows to Kazuha all the time. Ran can’t stop being happy at Kazuha’s side and worrying about her (Kazuha does the same, but not with the same frequency).
Tumblr media
The scene in Main Story where I fell in love with KazuRan Translation from the print: Ran: Kazuha, what is it? Want to rampage?
So it made me really happy that Kazuha couldn’t hit Ran in the last Herensuge’s Main Story (while she hurt Yoh and Chikaru), and how she tried her best to not hurt Ran, even when she was being controlled by the teacher. And how Ran trusted Kazuha above everything; Ran just stood there, smiling to Kazuha pointing her Charm to Ran — just to Kazuha miss and try to get out of the mind control because Ran talked to her, and her being able to recognize Ran.
Tumblr media
Kazuha missing Ran
But not only that. How Kazuha first remembers Ran in her flashbacks during the same Main Story (I can’t put a print here because Tumblr will ban me, so), or how Ran’s words are the final thing Kazuha needs to break the control in this scene and how Ran was the first person that showed when Kazuha was thinking after she break the mind control, still in her mind. I always loved the love, care and absolute trust Ran showed to Kazuha, so I was really happy to get confirmation that Kazuha felt the same way.
In the final, Kazuha being the only one that most recognized that Ran saved them all made me way more happy. Because Ran had finally got the thanks she deserved since 2 stories before (and it was Kazuha that did it, not any other of the girls).
Hervarar is my favorite Legion so far, but not only because of the friendship relationship between them all. It is also because there is Kazuha and Ran there. I love Hervarar that much exactly because the group is a found family and there is KazuRan (and YohRen, but it is for another post, maybe). Because even if they almost don’t interact that much in comparison with the start of the game, their interactions always make me really happy and soft. And I would love the game way more if they had a great amount of interactions (and I wouldn’t be that lazy to read stories. Yes, I hate how they treat my girl in the story, always putting her at the side. Ran deserves better).
I love them so much, but I couldn’t express all the feelings in this post. So I’m happy for anyone who read this mess rumbling meta until here. I hope that, even if I’m scared of expressing myself (and having difficulties in expressing myself, especially in english) was enough to show how much I love them and why.
To end this post, thank you for reading! And here is my favorite KazuRan’s official art! It is the one that most expresses what I love about their relationship.

Roy Jamie Keeley 11, 22, 45 for the otp ask!!
11. Do either try to hide their emotions if upset? Can the other still tell?
I don't think Roy could hide being upset if he tried. It is so very apparent when Roy is a Mood to literally everyone around him.
With Jamie, my first instinct is to say he wouldn't try to his emotions from them! However we did see him spiraling in Mom City without telling anyone, so I think it can happen. In that case, Roy was able to still tell! And then as we saw in the boot room, Jamie cracked immediately as soon as Roy confronted him. Which is to say, I think Jamie might attempt to hide things when he doesn't really know how to verbalize what he's feeling. (a la the "What's wrong" "I don't know, I don't know..." panic). Like, sometimes he's upset and he doesn't really know WHY he's upset so he feels like there's nothing to tell them, really, and then he convinces himself it's not a big deal and therefore not worth worrying them about. I still don't think he's intentional about hiding his emotions from them, he just has a tendency to close himself off when his emotions aren't really clear even to himself. However, Roy and Keeley recognize when this happens, and with their mildest of prompting Jamie is usually ready to talk.
Keeley would definitely be the most intentional about hiding her emotions, but only when she's upset about something that feels like a personal failing on her part. I think Keeley has a lot of feelings of inadequacy esp. in her career and she does have a history of hiding when she's struggling from the most important people in her life (Roy in s2, Rebecca in s3, etc.) I think Jamie is probably better and picking up when this is happening than Roy, but sometimes it takes their combined efforts and sometimes they do miss it completely. Keeley has to work really hard on learning to be honest and open up about things she's struggling internally with. However, if she's upset for EXTERNAL reasons she absolutely lets them know about it. Very passionately.
22. What reminds each of their partner?
Reminds Keeley of Jamie: anything football (obvs), very excitable dogs (lol), clothes/accessories she sees whilst shopping she just KNOWS he would love, the smell(stench) of Lynx 🙅‍♀️, her relationship playlist she definitely has for each of them
Keeley of Roy: football and the relationship playlists, again. Roy's cologne (Roy definitely has a signature scent to ME. It is a very high end cologne that he either found by chance or perhaps was gifted, really likes, and will never change because finding a new scent in the fragrance section with the two of them both weighing in sounds like hell on earth), aromas coming from the kitchen, ice cream and breakfast pastries
Jamie of Keeley: fuzzy blankets/pillows, designer shoes, anything that's little and cute (knick-knacks!!), nice and long cathartic talks, soft fabrics, flowers
Jamie of Roy: his beard oil, muppets :), the early morning breeze, airport book sections, any sort of weird obscure kitchen utensil he has know idea what it's used for (and therefore thinks, 'Roy would definitely know this'), really fancy & good cocktails
Roy of Jamie: vanilla vodka, windmills, muppets :), the color Pink, really stupid jokes he hears from other people and finds himself laughing at even though he doesn't find them funny. He's really just thinking about how hard Jamie would be laughing if he was there
Roy of Keeley: the color pink, glitter/sparkles, butterflies, planners/notebooks/any sort of organizational supplies, loopy handwriting, actual sunshine
45. Can they fall asleep without the other?
I think they have to by virtue of their lives/jobs. For instance, Jamie bunks with other players at away games even once he's dating Roy. Keeley goes to conferences and takes solo trips, etc. They all CAN sleep apart but they definitely feel coziest and safest when it's all three of them together, and whenever one person is gone and the other two are still at home, the bed feels too big without that person :(

002 Amy
002 | Give me a character & I will tell you
How I feel about this character:
I definitely like her a lot more now then I did back then. She's cute and sweet, but also strong. I like it when a character can be 100% completely 𝒻𝑒𝓂𝒾𝓃𝒾𝓃𝑒 ~💖 and it's not shown as a bad thing...at least not anymore. We'll get to that in unpopular opinions. But yeah, she's the heart of the group and I feel like she hasn't really been appreciated as such until recently.
All the people I ship romantically with this character:
Amy is just everyone's gf lmao. I think her loving personality makes her easy to ship with. I particularly like ShadAmy, SurgeAmy, and MetAmy....I'm sensing a pattern.
My non-romantic OTP for this character:
I really like it when Knuckles and Amy interact. Amy is just genuinely a good friend and that's kind of important for someone who's lived alone on a floating island most of his life. Amy also is very respectful now and is a good listener which I think Knuckles would appreciate a lot. Also they totally train together, that twitter takeover was 100% canon, Amy can split the Earth with her hammer.
My unpopular opinion about this character:
This current Amy IS the best depiction of Amy there's ever been. I've seen people say she's boring now, but I feel like these might be younger fans who don't understand just how annoying she used to be. This isn't internal misogyny talking, if anything it was whoever was writing her back then that was misogynistic. She was either a stalker or completely useless. Her personality was "girl" and her only thought was "Sonic". I would gladly take "boring" emotionally mature Amy over that any day, which I don't think is boring, if anything it helps balance things out. The only thing I will agree on is I think they should bring back her short temper because that shit's funny.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:
Already mentioned how I wished her and Shadow interacted more in the ask about Shadow, but specifically I'd love it if Amy pulled off some insane feat of strength that Shadow witnesses it and he's slightly perturbed and questions his status as the ultimate lifeform (in a comedic fashion).
my OTP: SHADAMY!
my cross over ship: Just send her any other girl from any other franchise and they'll be besties in no time.
a headcanon fact:
Amy might of stopped being the organizer for war and recovery efforts, but she still overexerts herself organizing social gatherings for everyone. Whenever given a task she will go to great lengths to get it done, even if it ends up exhausting her. There might be a part of her that does this because she feels guilty about how she used to act, and wants to be more useful to the group now.

Ep 14 is one of my faves and, unsurprisingly, it's the nadir of the OTP relationship. The first time I watched the drama, I wasn't sure they'd recover.
Before I get to all the serious stuff, I want to say I am amused that SR manages to untie herself. Clearly, SY has never had to do practical things like knots before and isn't into BDSM either so he's just not very good at tying someone up in a way that sticks.
Tumblr media
Love the way she prepares to fight tho, faking being out of it and then springing tho she doesn't know how to fight and all she has is a wooden piece.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Love the bitter irony of the contrast between their first visit to the gisaeng house together and this. Also, the fact that their reunion is him kidnapping her and her trying to stab him to death (OMG, that girl is tough!) before she realizes who that is and goes into shock is EVERYTHING.
Tumblr media
She is so relieved and he's so dead inside (but not as dead as he wants to be - he is still haunted by overhearing her saying she wanted them to be each other's shadows; a lot of his anger is at himself - because he hates her and blames her and yet cannot stop loving her.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I just love the way this is shot, with just one little bit of light on his face. And he's not wrong - he's a totally different person from the sunny scholar of the past - whenever we get flashbacks, it's genuinely shocking, that contrast - but the amazing thing is that on rewatch, I know she's gonna bring him back to life.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kinda gasping at the fact that the thought of her marrying Myun bothers him as much as the death of his clan and he views it as just as heinous a betrayal - neither one of these emotionally compromised babies realize what he's admitted - how he's demonstrated that he's not only not over her but that she's emotionally still so important to him - even in the most dysfunctional way possible.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The way he loses it when she calls him seosangnim like she used to and grabs her by the throat? Jeez dude. He's basically tied everyone related to Sejo into one big "enemy" label but also he does it because it makes him feel and he doesn't want to - he doesn't want pain and he doesn't want hope and he just wants to kill Sejo and die and all utterly numb.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dude, you are so not immune the way you wish you were.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He basically bolts out of there.
SR clearly likes hard work because ooooh boy. But I love that her devotion towards him and her attitude of - I don't want to say tolerance of his acting out but her loving him despite it - isn't motivated just by her love (though it very much also is), but also by the knowledge that her family owes him a blood debt, that his grudge is just (and in a society where a clan rises or goes down together, his not limiting hate to Sejo is also expected.) It is her father who has turned him into this feral quasi-monstrous wreck and I love that she never forgets it.
