Was it ever confirmed if their father is a twin?

Because if so, this just hits even more in the feels;

I imagine their father and uncle were so overjoyed that the twin gene still continued, and encouraged the boys to always treasure the irreplaceable bond they have ❤💚

Short Analysis of a 5 Second Scene

When Mario expresses upset about being served mushrooms, his father's response is "everyone likes mushrooms, right?" in a way that implies that Mario just hasn't tried hard enough to like them, but the biggest thing that stands out to me is that when Mario's Dad says this, he looks at and gestures toward Luigi.

Luigi doesn't exactly argue against his brother, but he confirms that he himself likes mushrooms, and his dad takes that as him taking his side.

This is a subtle lead-up to the "you're bringing your brother down with you" line. That was an accidental step too far, but Mario's Dad seems to understand... perhaps only subconsciously... that while Mario may be too bullheaded to pay much attention to risk or reason, he does pay attention to his brother.

I'm willing to bet in many situations, bringing Luigi into things might be the only way to get him to listen.

I've decided to draw the Mario Family from the movie, as well as gave some of the members headcanon names!

Here is a non-text version and a couple o close ups

Some other headcanons I've come up with in the cut! (I just copy and pasted what I wrote on DeviantArt)

It's confirmed that Maurizio, Tony and Arthur are brothers, so it's clear that Lucy and Marie married into the family. My headcanon is that Marie married Arthur and had Nicola while Tony is single and ready to mingle. Stefano, along with his deceased wife, were immigrants from Sicily and Southern Italy respectively, making Maurizio, Arthur, and Tony second gen immigrants, and Mario, Luigi and Nicola third gen. Nicola is a little over a decade younger than Mario and Luigi.

I gave Tony green eyes because I thought he had green eyes to match Luigi's appearance in the Mario cartoons, but then realized it was just his glasses lens being tinted yellow. I still like that idea, so I went with it.

My headcanon for this particular piece is that Mario and Luigi's plumbing business became so successful since the incident that they surprised the family with a trip to Sicily...and maaaaybe they also have a few Mushroom Kingdom coins to cover some expenses...hey, gold is gold, right?

Anyways- BABY BROS

-They had their hats from when they were very young, and even though their mama wasn't very fond of them she still sews their initials in them pipipi

-Also, an idea I had a while ago but I never drew is that papa Mario took them to buy clothes with his brother (Arthur?? I'm gonna call him Arturo aksdj) and they had the full intention and orders from mama Mario to buy the twins matching dresses for a holiday party or smth, but they saw little baby overalls on sale and also hats AND also shirts and they were like- no way, we have to buy that, look how cheap yet good quality it is! They'd be idiots to not take the sale.

>So then mama Mario is like- ...? Where are the dresses?? 🤨

>And papa Mario says- These were on sale, my love!! 🤑 while both him and Arturo hold the babies in their arms, showing her their new little outfits for the christmas party (they're perfect bc they're green and red and also they're such good quality they actually keep wearing them until they no longer fit)

-Maybe their dad keeps buying the same color for each baby? Or he takes advantage of the christmas sales, so each year for a few months Luigi and Mario wear green and red, respectively.

>Mama Mario thinks they could switch which baby wears each color, but papa Mario says it's better that way so they can tell which one is which (which has mama Mario laughing to his face bc the babies are fraternal twins and it's not very hard to tell which one is which c'mon Carlo)

-Yeah their dad's name is gonna be Carlo in my mind bc that's the italian form of Charles, and for funsies what if their mom's name is Martina :y

-Also I don't care how it actually is, I'll say that Arturo is Carlo's brother and Uncle Tony (Antonio) is Martina's brother bc what do you mean all the relatives come from the dad's side?? Also, aunt Marie is still aunt Marie, love her. And the nonno is still Carlo and Arturo's dad ajskdja

-Carlo and Martina were the firsts to have babies and the uncles made fun of them bc they got too mushy sometimes with Mario and Luigi, like always trying to take pictures of them or being excessively congratulating when they did anything and stuff (also maybe they were kinda young parents or smth, having the twins not very long after they got married). When Arturo and Marie have their own baby Carlo (and also Mario and Luigi, who are like eleven and totally up to be annoying to their uncle) make fun of him if he's too mushy with his baby too.

In a classic tale of parents claiming kids are delivered by storks, the Mario Bros. didn't buy Papa Mario's tale.

Created partly to coincide with Father's Day, as I imagine that Bowser will take up the majority of Father's Day fanart (Mario-wise), so I include something relating to Mario to add to the variety.

I wonder if Mario and Luigi's parents are going to have some serious empty-nest syndrome with both of their sons moving out at the same time like that. Their bedroom is probably so bare since they basically took everything from their room. They would walk past it to call out their name and see how empty it is and remember that they're both independent young men now.

Not only did they move out, they went straight up and moved to a different dimension/world entirely, and I don’t think that they even have cell service in the kingdom.

All I'm saying is, their mom is going to want to FaceTime them 3 times a week and they better be sure that they figure out a means to communicate or she will come there herself just to check up on them.
