I love how when the Z fighters summon Porunga on Earth to bring Krillin and Goku back, the people in West City initially freak out at the sight of a large ass dragon, only for the cops to go "We have determined the location of the giant dragon to be Capsule Corporation. Meaning that it's most likely another one of Dr. Briefs crazy inventions. No need to be alarmed, folks." They were so lucky that Porunga wasn't a harmful creature 🤣🤣. Like, they had no way of being 100% certain that it really was an invention of Dr. Briefs and not something else. Truly top tier police work😂.

Planet Comicon 2024 Haul!!

So this year, we didn’t get as much art as we did last year. For two reasons: 1. We still haven’t hing up all of the art we got last year. 2. My wife and I are currently househunting so there’s not much point in hanging up more art. Anyway, I opted to get figures and other stuff instead!

First up we have figures of Mash Burnedead from Mashle: Magic and Muscles, Piccolo from Dragon Ball Z and, of course, Ichigo Kurosaki from Bleach. On top of them is a Mudkip Kirby keychain. My wife got one of Oddish Kirby. Those are our favorite Pokémon. We match!

Next up we have this galaxy cat t-shirt from Tee Turtle. It’s pretty neat. And finally,

This plushie of Porunga from Dragon Ball Z. It’s pretty cool. Hopes for next year (or at least Planet Anime later this year) is to find some Undead Unluck figures. Particularly of Fuuko and Andy. Had a great time.

I still love the fact that Porunga couldn’t transport Goku back to earth. Like, there was no reason that he needed to respect Goku’s wishes, he’s a magical wish-granting dragon for Kami’s sake, he does whatever his current master wants him to do and then that’s it.

So that implies that Goku was powerful enough to defy a wish altogether. I like to imagine that Porunga was just afraid of Goku for some reason and the exchange went something like this.

Porunga: Hey, your son wished for you to be brought back to earth, so I’m going to do that now.

Goku: No.

Porunga: Wha- That’s not how this works! You can’t just say no to a wish being granted!

Goku: What are you going to do about it?

Porunga:

Porunga, to Gohan: Yeah, sorry. He said no.
