when i have nothing to do (which is often unfortunately) i usually just fluctuate from drawing -> reading -> tumblr -> twitter, and going from twitter to tumblr and back and forth has made me realise that twitter people literally just hate everything

So I’ve been seeing a lot of posts addressing fatphobia, which is great, but some of them take a turn into shaming anyone with insecurities about their weight and basically telling them to get over it, which really isn’t helpful. Also, while I can totally understand not wanting ed blogs interacting with you, I feel like this site has started to moralize eating disorders without fully understanding why they occur. And just like it can be harmful to moralize addiction and other mental illnesses, I think it’s ultimately a bad idea to start moralizing eating disorders (i.e., treating people who have them like they can just choose to get over them), especially when you take into account that certain cultures or upbringings (such as abusive upbringings) can influence how you look at your body. It just seems like a lot of modern-day body positivity activism has lost a lot of empathy for other people and ignores the nuance of an individual's situation. Addressing your own body insecurities can be an incredibly personal and difficult thing, especially in a society that profits off of them, and if we keep ignoring the root problems of how they occur in the first place, I don’t think we’re ever going to fix them within our society.

#I could also go on a whole other rant #about how white non Jewish people often center themselves when it comes to body hair positivity activism #and completely ignore the racist antisemitic and xenophobic roots of body hair removal #and have started shaming people who remove their body hair #despite not being the main target of the body hair removal industry #and not understanding why the industry occurred in the first place #and why some people may feel safer removing their body hair because they are prone to getting more hate for it due to their #ethnicity or race #and those issues need to be addressed if they truly want to accomplish their goal #but that is a rant for another time #and it is 4 am when I’m writing this #although I’ll probably post it later when I’m more awake #body posititivity #body postitive #activism #tw ed #tw eating disorder mention #tw eating disorders #tw eating disorder #eating disorder mention #eating disorder tw #my post

i just will never forget when the whole tramp stamps band scandal happened on tiktok and there were people in the comments saying they knew they were plants because they didn’t have “real alt makeup.” like i get the concept of “oh they’re clearly trying to emulate a culture they aren’t a part of” but the phrasing of it just truly made me lose it. like the idea that even within spaces where you are being weird and creative and having fun and playing with style you can be judged for doing your makeup “wrong.” how the fuck is there a real or right way to do “alt makeup” my god

#my mom raised me very anti-makeup i had to wear it for dance performances and otherwise not only wasn’t allowed to #but genuinely didn’t really want to #and sometimes i hate that i never learned How To Do makeup #like. that’s unhealthy thinking. #i never learned how to use foundation and thank god bc it feels nasty on my face so why would i!!! #but overall i AGREE w her and am so glad i didn’t grow up wearing makeup #like i do not like my mom but i am so grateful for that one thing. she doesn’t wear makeup either literally only for halloween costumes #so it’s not like she didn’t let me bc she didn’t approve or whatever. it’s truly her belief that she lives by #she would talk about how sad it was that her friends wouldn’t leave the house without makeup and stuff. and she’s right! #i do love to put on a little eyeliner and colorful eyeshadow when i go to a concert or something #and maybe eventually lipstick if i ever stop wearing masks (altho i haven’t wanted to bc even in a resting postition #the wet part of my mouth that the lipstick doesn’t stick to is exposed #and i hate that especially bc i like really bold colors like deep reds or blacks. but also feeling Bad about that is exactly what i’m trying #to get away from) #anyway if you claim makeup is just for yourself and about art and having fun then why are you shaming other people for how they do it!! #how are you any better than anyone else!!!

I found an aftermath fic for HoA s2 I started writing waay back in 2017 and I actually still enjoy it so I thought I'd share some of it, and I might revisit it when i rewatch s2

The gist of it was the mystery and the exhibition are wrapped up and done, Rufus and Senkhara have been banished never to be seen again, but there's still seven weeks left of term! Featuring exams, coming to terms with your kidnapping/sort of death/sort of murder, washing up and summer plans!

Some highlights from it include:

Eddie trying to convince Patricia to dance with him

The woes of washing up (there was an entire chapter plan consisting of fabian trying to get people to help him with chores)

Jerome having a funky good time

Joy having a funky good time

Vera's farewell

Then this was the last sentence written and I'm dying to know what I was going to write next 😅

So yeah, a look into the mind of someone who was doing their gsces and binging HoA to cope 😂

#i do remember this fic and writing little scenes from it is what got me through my gsces tbh #i was planning for it to be around 20 chapters to deal with exams and summer plans (and foreshadowing ninas exit) #i have a section i wrote on a postit that i was very proud of that went #'Eddie Miller; proclaimed bad boy and teen rebel; did not care one bit about exams; revision or results.' #'Edison Sweet on the other hand; son of the headteacher was desperate to at least attempt to make his father proud' #(but with commas instead of semicolons bc tumblr tags) #i would like to revisit this though bc i have a lot of thoughts about what they got up to after the s2 finale and how they healed #i cant believe its been 5 years #its reminded me of my ghost au that i started 4 years ago and i cant believe its been that long for that too #i might revisit that as well once ive finished seven sins #so that might be a while down the line! #house of anubis #ngl 16 year old me didnt have a great grasp on tenses though theyre all over the place #i say this like im better now XD #id like to think i am
