the gifted child syndrome is horrible.

what's the point of being praised in high school for a wonderful work ethic and earning 90s on assignments. you're a model student holding leadership positions and your work is used as examples for years to come.

and then university hits you in the face. you can't find yourself reaching above 70s. Always in credits, "pass" almost staring down at you. "there are obvious signs of hard work" yet they can't mark me higher for reasons i can't quite grasp.

being a "gifted" child is being too good for high school and not enough for university.
