ereyesterday our their of pissed suggested getting into an outpatient psychward and told us to think about it. and silver[headmate] made a post on the tumbler saying that this could be a bad idea because somewhat recently i made a hole in a wall and less than a week ago Lyra messed up a cupboard. as if we're the only ones who on occasion damage stuff when angered. this is literally so mean for no reason.

also. a few months ago shinra had an accident with a knife. and we got a fun new 1 inch long scar and possibly a little bit of nerve damage or something. and we were supposed to get some reminder tetanus shot around a month after that since i had no idea when was my previous tetanus shot. and i uhhhhhhh didn't get it since i'm scared of doctors, and it would probably seem quite weird if i went to a doctor about this now

also im sorta balding but. scared of doctors so cant do anything about that

last sunday i was in some social studies class or some other shit. and the teacher said something about how lgbt people were never oppressed in this country. which is a very bold thing to say as someone living in a country in which like a quarter of the area declared itself a "lgbt free zone" and only calmed down a little when the european onion told them that that's probably illegal. and i decided to argue with the teacher a bit. one of the things she said was that sometimes there's dudes in pup masks on pride parades, which invokes disgust and thus should be banned, and. idk why but i kinda expected teachers to have a bit more common sense than 14 year old twitter users. also i came to school wearing a spiked dog collar on a regular basis. and that is also possibly now that i think about it why a trope like this is so prevalent bc seeing him be unsure/not confident and flipping his world upside down (lol) or Crisis Occuring is very different for his character and therefore interesting to explore hm.. but when it's shown as something unserious or comedic it becomes unintentionally mocking or just like. painful. ALONG WITH how it seems to be this same old storyline with a clear sighted arc (i'm totally straight -> maybe not -> omg i'm gay -> crisis -> crisis averted -> within one week gay married) when, i think, a lot of the potential interest there IS, for EXAMPLE, exploring how his self esteem is tied into his ability to be a serial dater, which is tied into his appearance and everything that makes him Him, is tied into his own self-projected only "success" in life is getting girls and being good at it. and like, how being unaware that he has his entire life liked a whole other gender and maybe even ONLY that other gender is incredibly disorientating for his own sense of self, the internal battle of having to come to terms with your internal worldview shifting without you being aware (in a way that isn't condescending) and him ultimately realising he is still the same person just PLUS, and is quote unquote allowed to feel the way he does. despite it all. and how opening himself up to this possibility NOW is actually a deeply important thing because he might be realising Oh god, maybe it WAS all some sort of act before now, and then dissecting that THAT isn't true either and genuine emotion does not beget intention, or something. and also how a shift in your identify is not just a bam bam bam 1 2 3 sequence of events and trying to coalesce all that into a 3 score narrative is like potentially recipe for disaster ANYWAY. it's a long complicated process that is 99% behind the scenes and over time and how ALL OF THAT, importantly, coincides with his own character and how HE would act and what choices HE would make because we KNOW how he acts in the face of crisis, of any kind, and we also know the absolute truth of that he deserves to have SOME sort of emotional catharsis and he should be allowed to address his own issues internal or otherwise. and how being gay changes everything but also changes nothing and how hailing himself as a Guy Who Loves, WHOLEY and fully and with everything he's got, does not mean he is an awful person just because the love is different or different NOW or maybe just to the left. but it's all a balancing act i suppose and everyone has their own um. interpretation.

basically yes it's very interesting how steve of all characters gets a certain kind of treatment like this when we know without a shadow of a doubt he is the one who turns up confidentally with roses and the only place he is so confident is with emotion and knowing exactly what he wants. and how interesting it would be to think about a guy like that going through a fundamental shaking of the foundations because what he wants has changed. and even now so long after his split with nancy he is on such uncertain terms with his own like, heart, and he can't seem to trust himself to move on, which is for a REASON. and i don't think that reason is He still fully, properly loves nancy, romantically. i also think it's funny when people do the "everybody knows" thing because that's literally not how anything in life works even a little bit at least with something both below the surface and so intrinsic like IDENTITY like lol if he doesn't know then you don't.

Do u have a top 5 transformation sequences in film? Any themes u think are particularly compelling or underexplored in that specific flavor of body horror?

Hi lovely!!! <3 I had some really nice corn on the cob at dinner, and it's just the right time of year for it, thankfully! I'm admittedly not as well-versed in werewolf/lycanthropy lore (just a matter of taste), but I think they're a very potent metaphor/vehicle for a lot of different experiences. The body as undergoing monstrous transformation is a classic puberty allegory, and as a creature that does not conform to the laws of man or beast, unrestrained after repression and yet forever in-between, sometimes unwilling and other times relieved to be seen, is very resonant with LGBT+ actualization narratives, among a lot of other things. That the werewolves are often unjustly hunted rather than nurtured is particularly poignant for me. As with any monster-as-human narrative, I can't help but note that this is a double-edged sword; there is baggage inherent in these allegories due to the dehumanization/animalistic comparisons for various marginalized groups, particularly in terms of race or sexuality/gender identity, though I recognize the space for reclamation here as I do with vampires. As well, there's always that nebulousness that exists between allowing yourself to embrace the imperfection and the anger and the totality of yourself, and what I refer to as the "X-Men Conundrum": wherein the metaphorical bigotry has in-universe justification because the fantastical creature poses a legitimate threat, whereas real-life forms of oppression operate frequently through deeming a group of people a threat in order to justify violence against, and exploitation of them. (Case in point: Disney' Zootopia, where they thought it was somehow a good idea to equate herbivore animals being frightened of carnivores to real-world racism, or The Breed, which went so far as to have vampires - not vegetarian ones, mind you! - as a stand-in for Jewish people during WWII. Like. Guys, think it through.) A skilful enough writer with enough compassion or lived experience can navigate this with the sensitivity and nuance it requires, but it's forever a challenge in my mind when it comes to writing monsters as the Other. I don't know that I have a top 5 werewolf transformation sequences, but off the top of my head, I really like the ones in An American Werewolf in London, Ginger Snaps, Trick r Treat, The Company of Wolves, and...does Fright Night count? Sort of? It's unclear if that's what happened to poor Evil Ed, but a wolf is involved! (I'm cheating by shoving vampires back in here...and my Fright Night bias, to boot!) For this specific flavour of body horror, the more visceral the better if it's in a visual medium. I want to see teeth falling out and being replaced, I want to understand the agony of suddenly sprouting fur and having it burst through your skin in clumps, and I want to hear the bones cracking as a body twists and contorts, abjection of what your own form does to you, perverse pride in what you become. Thematically, too; I want a battle between horror and joy, and perhaps it's the Cenobites talking, but I wonder if there can ever be happiness found in the pain of the transformation because that pain is experience, and that pain is the act of becoming. If you wanted to be topical about it you could even connect it to the ideas of Beauty Is Pain and what we subject ourselves to to fit certain standards, only in the inverse here for the monstrous and the grotesque yet the true.

So, after I watched ST I saw someone posting about how the show should have a warning about the spiders for people who have arachnophobia... In the first two episodes we get presented Chrissy's murd€r case and how everyone thought it was Eddie. So it's obvious the party needed to investigate because Max noticed something weird, but. The thing is that the scene most got me uncomfortable was when Max and Dustin talked about "what if Eddie didn't do it" and, watching someone talking about how a person was SO nice and SO friendly that he couldn't do it kind of made me feel bad, because my person was so nice, so LGBT friendly and feminist...

So I am a victim of sexual assault and watching a direct scene that questions if a "nice person" could do that stuff really affected me to the point I was feeling kind of anxious through out the first part of the plot, because, even if they DID say it could be a case like T3d B/undy, they reinforced this idea of how he was so much nice to Dustin that he couldn't do it.

In fact, the phrase of Max talking to Steve about it saying sth like "that's what we are trying to do" (discard Eddie was a m&rder3r) has stucked on my mind.

I'm not saying this topic about his innocence being made up to feel like he would NEVER be guilty because we saw that possibility on Max and Steve, and the spectator obviously knows he isn't so everything hits different. But I kind of wish someone would have warn me that they talk about the innocence of a type of crime like this.

4. haikyuu!! is still my comfort anime after all this time and i haven’t watched anime in years so i recommend that. i also liked yuri!!! on ice :)

5. the last show i watched that really stuck in my brain was she ra and the princesses of power :) i also rewatch cartoons from when i was a kid a lot! i watched regular show recently, but i frequently rewatch spongebob (seasons 1-3 specifically) and also avatar the last airbender. if you like adult/comedy cartoons i think bob’s burgers and futurama are very good too

6. one of my favorite books i’ve read was Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe! super easy read, really nice coming of age lgbt story. i’ve also been rereading the original percy jackson & heroes of olympus books which are super nice and nostalgic
